luval, re your Monte sighting in WB – Norfolk is pretty deserted except when people arrive for work and leave. The Norva is on the edge of the downtown, too, so there was NO ONE around the buses or in the vicinity of the venue. Line didn’t form until quite late in the day. All the band/dancers were just walking around in the downtown area during the day of the show in pairs and singly, almost no one paid them any mind. They must have thought they were on another planet…this was June, still early in the tour. Adam wasn’t seen, of course. I wonder if he was checking out where his family had lived…his grandmother went to my son’s high school.
Oksana, that is what my mother called “borrowing trouble”!
BB looks younger and younger !?!
Love and happiness will do you good.
Kradamour, I doubt very much if I have any influence over Adam’s looks.. hehehe
Your mom is right. I sounded like croaking crow.
How many single show tickets can be sold for Quebec before it’s “sold out”? Other than AO is there someplace where people would even hear about this gig? With the huge northeast population, and if you’re an Adam fan (or fanatic), you might not know about it if you don’t follow him like we do.
Gorgeous photos of both Adam and Sauli (cropped and enhanced)
ADORABLE !!!
I’ll be back after going there to practice right click and save again.
luval, I think this is a real problem. (re Adam performance and people here in US or elsewhere – even Canada! – knowing about it)
It is possible that Adam’s people didn’t really understand what he was signing up for. Kenny Rogers was signed early, and it is a 5 day festival, and there are a number of Quebec music festivals every summer that are hugely attended (i.e. the St. Jean balloon festival).
This is a new festival, never done before. As far as I can tell, the peeps running it are French-speaking almost exclusively. The publicity is … well, it isn’t. I read somewhere what the ad budget is. It’s not shabby, but IMHO not enough to get out the word for this.
At the original press conference held by the mayor of Ste Agathe, they were projecting festival attendance at 60,000 (compare to last year Quebec City summer festival of 2.1 million). The stage on the Plage Tessier can accommodate 10,000.
On the other hand, it is only May for an end July festival. They may be husbanding publicity dollars until the summer actually starts in June? Down here in Virginia I don’t expect to see anything.
When I am in Quebec City for their festival, there are a LOT of Americans. It looked like St. Jean had a good number of Americans, too (and not just for Adam LOL).
The Ste Agathe festival has not announced any activities other than the five headliners, three of whom perform in French. Supposedly there will be a marketplace as well as a sort of food court event, everything on the theme of fire. I am on the RSS feed, and so far nothing. And nothing in English. I am thinking that they could be in over their heads…I can’t find anything in the Canadian French language press…
Except for the pyro theme, this festival doesn’t sound like a very good fit for Adam, but I am delighted selfishly to go to a more intimate concert.
And it would be a great place to try out new music!
ETA: Passports sold look like 400 at $99, and another 100 prestige. The second batch of passports has been released at $130, supposedly there were to be 400 at the new price point but it looks as though only 200 were released, I never saw more than 199 available. Ticket sales seem to be very slow.
Individual tickets – no way to tell how many sold/remaining, since it is GA. Eric LaPointe will be the big draw, the night before Adam. He is also playing Quebec City, and when he was announced on that site the twitter feed went crazy.
I’m surprised that Adam hasn’t tweeted the link to his followers or that there hasn’t been more of a draw from his Canadian fans. It could be that folks don’t know about it or are thinking they would rather wait until he has new music to perform. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will try out a couple of new songs on us. We aren’t shy about providing feedback and have amazingly good taste in music.
I agree about “aren’t shy” part…..
Ditto to all of the above…..
)are eternally grateful to you. In addition to all of Adam’s performances that you videotape, I want to let you know how much I appreciate all the “extras” you often include such as the venue, the marquee with Adam’s name in lights, the audience, etc. I love it all!!
Yes, you are totally amazing, Suz, and Adam’s fans (especially this one
Happy dreary, grey, gloomy Sunday from Toronto.
I just got off the phone with a most friendly and laughing woman at the SpaWatel Hotel. She liked my jokes so I, of course, liked her
By the end of our conversation, I felt as if we were old friends. She agreed with me when I suggested that it was Adam’s fans who sold out her hotel during the Festival. She said, “I must try and see this AdUM Lambear”.
She even thanked me and all of the other Adam fans who will be staying at her hotel. (Mai oui, bien sure – $$$ in the till)
Based on the phone call, I’m thinking now that it would be a great idea for all of us to meet on the hotel’s terrace. Madame SpaWatel
informed me that it can comfortably hold between 35 – 40 people and it has Bar service. Those of us who want to mingle and meet over cocktails can do that and those who want to move on to the dining room for dinner can then do that.
The way I’m behaving, you’d think this was all going to happen next week.
Just wondering though if this sounds like a good idea to you?
Kradamour. Thanks for you insightful thoughts on the Quebec concert. But then I had an odd thought. What if Adam/TPTB don’t necessarily want this concert to be “out there” for all to attend? This (and Moscow)could be some sort of a test for new music to hardcore fans.
Luval – love the way you are thinking….wouldn’t that be so fantastic?
Ron – your idea sounds perfect. Let’s hope for good weather.
Hi all-
Found you -thanks to email “dinner on a platter” from Renatamelo.Out of the country for 10 days in France and now still in Portugal. Still trying to find time to catch up with everything.
Thank you -ewflyer- for this new place!
Just leanrned about Festival in St Agathe, Quebec. Hope I’ll be able to still get tickets. Not back in USA until Wednesday.
But is this the festival that kradamour was hoping for from ages ago?
Anyway, must go. You know I’m mostly a lurker but enjoy you all. Am looking into Quebec flights. traveling from Florida. Hope to see you guys.
Mils, you are so inspiring! Now I had to go out and had a Lamb biryani myself.
cwm: I am glad to see you post again. I was getting a tad worried.
HK Fan: Welcome! Thanks for de-lurking.
Adam and Sauli look terrific, and so happy. This should be none of my business, but the truth is I do care. I hope they can beat the odds of celebrity relationships and be very happy together for a very long time. It would be a beautiful thing and a good positive image of what a gay relationship can be. On the one hand, I don’t want to add additional pressure with the whole role model thing. But since there are so few younger gay celebrity couples, I do think their example can mean a lot. Sauli is already sneaking into my heart, too. Not just in a “whatever makes Adam happy” kind of way. He just seems to have a sunny, kind disposition and lots of integrity.
Just wanted to jump in and say “hello.” I really appreciate having a place to find info an discussions on Adam’s concerts. I don’t post much, but I’ve enjoyed reading the blog so far.
My husband is still laid off after two years, and unemployment will soon run out. This may be as close as I’ll be able to get to his new concerts. I am grateful to those who can actually use a camera while Adam is on stage. I found it almost impossible when I saw him in Melbourne FL.
I love the recaps and videos. I can’t wait for his new album.
No, it isn’t. That was the Quebec City extravaganza: 11 days, two million people. Ooh la la…but any concert in Quebec is good for me! This is like a little stealth concert, actually, and I am loving it.
luval, it is all so silent that this is actually possible, IMO. No tweets? Not like our boy.
Moscow is certainly the end of the world for most fans…I am thinking they will get something more like GlamNation, if not GlamNation in its entirety, because the Russian fans wanted it so passionately and made amazing vids. I can see Adam enjoying doing it once more for them.
The backwoods of Canada, though…that could certainly be a consciously stealth concert to try out at least some new material. But I am trying to save my excitement for Moscow first! before I let myself get too OTT for Ste Agathe…
Ron, I love the terrace idea. Mme SpaWatel’s name is Lisa, BTW.
Hi, ellessay!
I am so sorry to hear about the employment situation…too many are in the same difficult place. Sending karma and hugs and good wishes for a brighter future.
Glad you found us for some spirit lifts when you need them.
Here is the site for Suz’s European Adam concert travels.
Check it out for memories:

Ellessay So glad to see you here posting. Please come back and join us any time you want to escape RL and it’s troubles. That’s part of the reason I hang out here. Like Kradamour I wish you well and that everything will turn around for you and your family soon.
Thanks for the welcome! Adam has gotten me through a lot of the stress from the last couple of years. I’ve tried to keep my Lambert Love to myself, but my whole family knows. I try not to talk about him around my husband, who says he’s tired of hearing about him. @@
My husband finally spotted my AFL Calendar. I forgot to flip April and the motorcycle caught his eye. I told him it was a free gift for buying concert tickets last year.
Luval, I had the exact same intuition! Remember those two concerts Adam did in Canada just before the AI mentoring? Kind of feeling out the reactions?
And Ron, I think your terrace idea is fab, too.
ok, so IMO we are the test marketers. I would like a questionaire and perhaps a meeting with the product “manufacturer” so I can assess the goods.
Adam with paps:

Price of fame…
Ron, I think the terrace sounds great!
I had the same thoughts about the concerts, with Moscow probably GlamNation of sorts, and Quebec with possibly some new music. He did mention trying to get a single out in late summer.
And I’m with you luval, I would like to assess the “goods”!
Re Ste. Agathe des Feux concert- there’s great cycling around there! Y’all might want to take or rent bikes and do a little two-wheel sightseeing while you are there.
I might try and persuade my hubby we need to go, but 4000 miles is a looooooong way!
Yeah, dang. I had wondered what the video of this encounter with the paps would look like because Adam had looked so animated in the still photos. I had hoped that it was because he was joking around with them and having a good time. But now I see that those expressions he had in the still photos were actually from him trying to dodge the paps and get them to leave him and Sauli alone.
He and Sauli do look really great, though.
I LOVE his new hair color and hairstyle.
Awww, thanks turquoisewaters, that’s sweet. We had the memorial service for my father-in-law this week, and then I got hammered at work, so it’s been a tough week.
By the way, I just wanted to say that I always love your posts. You and I are often on the same wavelength. It was a privilege and pleasure meeting you at the SF GNT show.
I’m jealous of all you east coasters, southerners, and midwesterners who are managing to get to Quebec for Adam’s show, but of course I’m really happy for all of you too. You’re going to have a ball with Adam and with each other! Unfortunately, it’s not in the cards for me.
I think that all of us west of the Rockies should hold virtual hands and send out wishes to the universe for an Adam show this summer on the west coast!
Hi guys – I’m practicing for Quebec – my plan is to upload and give us the first links (assuming that all goes well). Anyhow, in preparation, I’ve uploaded Wango Tango today (in honor of the one-year anniversary – AND the harem pants!!!) MEGA(!!!)thanks to adamland and eywfler for helping me navigate new territory – Here’s the link to all 4 vids!
Here’s the link:
http://www.adamlambertlive.org/category/non-tour-gigs
cwm, it worked for us. I seriously think we made a Quebec concert happen. No reason it couldn’t work for you, too. Get MusicMatt on it, too…and who else is out there?
OH the harem pants. He needs to get them ready for Moscow. Thanks Suz for the awesome videos, yours are the best.
Hmmmm… besides me, us west coasters include: AL, turquoisewaters, ewyflyer(?), Suz, smeggs, k_in_cal, jlurksacto, MusicMatt, madnessinmotion, GreenHippo, starhart, mieps, pppofp… who else?? (So sorry if I’ve forgotten someone!)
cher…check your email!
cwm and all the other west coasters, I wish you could be in Quebec with us too! Let’s visualize this west coast concert into happening!
cwm, it looks to me as though you have critical mass to send out a plea to the universe!
That pap video showed Adam in such a good light, I thought. He was clearly exasperated, but maintained his cool and was firm and in control. Sauli looked amused, actually. I am liking him so much! And his jawline is so, so gorgeous…
Suz526…Thank you for the vids! Love seeing them again. And who knew at that time how amazing GN would be less than one month later!!
A very interesting article about the Quebec festival. I don’t know how to use a translator, but I hope that someone else does and will post it.
http://linformationdunordsainteagathe.canoe.ca/webapp/sitepages/content.asp?contentid=190832&id=1870
OMG! Our boy is the cover photo for the festival article!
http://virtuel.linformationdunordsainteagathe.canoe.ca/doc/hebdo_l-information-du-nord-le-sommet/info_agathe_051211_opt/2011051101/#0
On page 3 (the article) a festival peep is quoted as saying in surprise that someone even called to ask where was the nearest airport LOL. That would be, I am guessing, an Adam fan…
Here is a translated link to the Quebec article (it appears to be an editorial in the local newspaper urging residents of the area to support the new festival):
http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Flinformationdunordsainteagathe.canoe.ca%2Fwebapp%2Fsitepages%2Fcontent.asp%3Fcontentid%3D190832%26id%3D1870
Thanks for posting this Kradamour!
Suz526, thank you so much for posting your HD videos from Wango Tango 2010! That happened exactly one year ago, amazing to think how much has happened since then!
A bit more info about the Moscow concert on May 28. The “Maxidrom 2011” festival runs from 12 noon all the way until 1030pm Moscow time. They are 8 hours ahead of EDT, so the festival hours will be 4a-230p EDT, and 1a-1130a PDT. There are now six artists/groups listed on the website, but I haven’t been able to find any info yet on the lineup order. With Korn and The Prodigy there, I’m fairly sure that Adam will not be the final act to perform, but I don’t think he will be the first one either. Hopefully a lineup with times will become available as we get closer to the show.
I don’t know how much info we are going to get from this show, as videos will likely be hard to come by and the twitter list may be mostly in Russian. In any case, we will run a live thread, likely starting around midnight PDT on Friday night through the day on Saturday.
Looks like there is quite the publicity blitz all of a sudden for the Ste Agathe festival! LOTS of articles showing up this weekend in the francophone press.
Thanks, eywflyer! Yes, that is exactly what it is. The festival is a huge financial leap of faith for the small community, and there has been quite a bit of grumbling lately by some of the locals who don’t believe it will work out.
How does one use a translator? I suspect that we will be wanting to use it for Moscow articles and reviews.
cwm I guess I could be counted both ways. I live in the northern center of the country. I could go either way and the trip would be the same length (pretty close). Good to see you back. Sorry to hear about your father-in-law. With that kind of week treat yourself kindly!
If they get the word out for the festival the Lambert fans will surely help the bottom line. I think he will sell out once they start talking about the line up.
Kradamour, to use google translator go to http://translate.google.com/, paste the webpage address you are translating into the text box, select the languages to translate from and to, and hit translate. The translated result will not be perfect, but it usually does a decent job.
We’ll probably be needing that translator a lot for the Moscow twitter list. There is usually a translated list link around, although it doesn’t update in real-time like the actual twitter list does.
Thanks, eywflyer. Looks easy to do!
Sorry to be post-hoing about the festival, but found another interesting article. The fireworks are budgeted for $250.000 CDN. That is 5 sessions of 12 minutes each, presumably one for each concert. $50,000 for 12 minutes is an impressive show; I don’t think we’ll be disappointed!
They have reduced the expected total turnout to 35,000. Apparently they hoped to announce the first performer (Kenny Rogers) in December, but that was delayed until March and the rest followed with delay. They are getting very worried about having sufficient hotel accommodations, and are setting up satellite parking lots with shuttles.
So glad we already have our rooms!
ETA: I just found the translator in a drop down menu on my gmail page, also, even easier!
kradamour…Glamberts just know how to do it! We are very experienced in these matters! btw where is the closest airport to St. Agathe?
Kradamour did you ever think you would become proficient navigating around your computer before Adam? LOL We learn so many new things. Forget that “old dog” stuff!!
How are peeps getting from the airport to St. Agathe?
Here you go, suz!
