JoJosie, I forgot you are in Iowa – I’m going to see “Cedar Rapids” this week and be homesick for college…I loved living in Iowa. My niece is going to Coe this fall and I almost envy her…but NOTHING wold make me want to be that young again…29 is just fine! Grin

Mils, hope you placed a double order so you can bring leftovers back. Lamb biryani is my very favorite…!

  2. Calgary says:

By the way, does anyone know why my posts have come up with the click to edit/ request deletion at the bottom and no one elses does?

HK fan – it comes p on yours because you are the only one who can edit/delete. It’s the same for all of us.

  3. dcglam says:

Happy to meet you, HK fan!
As far as I know, each of us has the edit/request deletion at the bottom of our own individual posts. Yours are only visible to you whereas ours are only visible to us. I’m hoping this makes some sort of sense. Let me know…… Wink

ETA: You beat me to it, Calgary! Smile

  4. HK fan says:

Thanks Calgary and dcglam for the quick replies.

  5. nkd says:

Hi HK fan! We also spoke on the fansite. I’m so glad that you made it on to this wonderful new home!

I love those pictures! The hair is awesome! Mmmmm! Smile

Kradamour, I’m sending you some lamb right now. Hope you love it as much as we did.

Jojosie, I’m not trying to make anybody feel bad when I talk about where I go or what I do here. I just love to be entertained and try to inject that into my life. Ever since I turned “29” I just feel a need to go for the gusto. That, in combination with the work I do, has turned me into a “grab the silver ring” kind of person the last couple of years.

I find it funny, because Milwaukee gets such a bad rap as being a beer/cheesehead/boring Midwest city, but, in actuality, it is a vibrant big city. We get all the concert tours, Broadway tours, and have a lot of ethnic restaurants, ethnic neighborhoods, and non-stop festivals all summer. And, we have Lake Michigan. And, whatever we don’t have here, Chicago is very close for that.

I have spent so many years not taking advantage of all my city has to offer. I’m so over that. “Life is short.”

This is just one of the reasons I was willing to go to Hawaii, see Adam, meet Adam and be with so many new friends.

So, since turning 29, I make an effort to go to shows, restaurants, festivals, concerts, it is so fulfilling.

I have a feeling there are a lot of Adam’s fans who share these feelings. Maybe, that’s why so many of his fans are my same age.

05/14/2011 at 11:45 am Eyw, did you ever tried to estimate gross income of GNT? US, International and non-GNT events? I tried to do it and came out with pretty nice number…

Oksana, I did make that estimation a while back, based on the known concert boxscores, estimated attendance for the other dates, and average price per ticket of the tour, and came up with a total gross number for the entire tour (US and international) of around $6.4 million. I don’t think that Adam saw much of that money though, as my understanding is that contracts with these smaller theatre venues usually have the venues keeping a large share of the gross number. Merchandise brought in some additional $$$ as well.

It will be interesting to see how the next tour shapes up, both in sizes of venues and numbers of shows. I think they would like to have somewhat larger venues and somewhat fewer dates, but whether that will be possible will depend on how the album sales.

  9. Kradamour says:

    (nods in agreement and understanding)
That’s pretty much it, mils (and the lamb is yummy, thank you! Smile )
When I saw that big 50 29 looming, I decided to make the whole year a party. I spent a month in Paris in the middle of it. Best thing I ever did. I have a dear friend who actually almost went crazy on her 29th birthday. Another friend and I took her away for a weekend and tough-loved her to death. “No, you can’t buy that. Ugh. You are too OLD!” shouted across the store. It worked. It is hard to be depressed when you are laughing!
I called it the kickoff year to my second half century and wanted to set the tone for what was to follow.
What has followed has not been what I expected…my mother’s health that forced me (willingly!) to stop working has changed a lot. But it is not the festivals and dinners and performances that I search out (fortunately, because my city doesn’t offer a lot, either!) but rather I really look for small things that make me happy. “Oh, I think I’ll stop for a taco at that really nice taqueria on the way to visit my mother.” “Oh, I think I’ll go to a matinee of that movie no one else wants to see all by myself!” “Oh, I think I’ll buy a squeezebox so that I can listen to French radio in the kitchen while I make dinner.” “Oh, I think I’ll see if my friend would like me to bring her a picnic lunch at work and we will eat it outside on the grounds.”
Or “oh, I think I’ll give myself a half hour of Adam time on the internet before son comes home from school. (and rolls eyes…)”.
I just keep an eye out for the little things that will make me happy, not cost too much (gotta be fair to the rest of my family), and be a reward for having worked this hard and made it this far.
(Mils, you didn’t bring any dessert, did you? Some cardomom rice pudding would be nice…)

  10. Kradamour says:

eywflyer, that is an impressive total. It is my understanding that Adam paid his expenses out of that (including band and dancers) – is that what you remember/understand? Throughout the tour, I loved and appreciated your stats and figures. It added a lot to my understanding and enjoyment of the tour. Thank you!

Even after expenses, looks like Adam can afford those wedge boots. And more than money, the tour obviously bought him some respect in the industry – a performer who can really go the distance, never miss a performance, and give 150% every night.

  11. Suz526 says:

    eywflyer
I think you’re absolutely right – and I think that may have been why Adam increased the numbers of Meet and Greets from 25 to 50 people. I believe the M&G income went directly to him.

  12. cwm says:

Hey everybody! What a delight to see you all here! I have been hammered by real life over the last week or so, and for the first time EVER went a whole week without being able to visit the Adam thread in the feathers or my alternate personal email account (where this site was announced). Finally today I visited the feather thread, only to find that a whole new site has been created for us! With over 600 posts!! Wow, that’ll teach me to go AWOL. LOL

I just want to say — eywflyer, adamland, and suz526, you are AWESOME! This site is wonderful, and is truly a gift to us MJer Adam fans. You have obviously put so much thought into setting it up so that it retains the very best features and climate that we have loved so much about being at MJs, and takes the burden of hosting Adam concert threads from her. I’ve spent the last couple of hours reading through all 610 posts, and I gotta say, seeing so many familiar usernames and avatars return to say hi has been really lovely. The community we created at MJs over the past year and a half — especially during the GNT — has been really magical, and I’m so happy that this community has found a lovely new home that is a win for us and a win for MJ as well. My heartfelt thanks to you three for creating this space, and to all of the wonderful peeps posting here!

  13. rainbowgal4 says:

Kradamour Oh cardomom rice pudding is a favorite of mine. Reading the last few posts have gotten me hungry again!! I’ve raided the kitchen twice and I settled for a good cup of apple cinnamon tea. That hit the spot.

Texas I would love to talk quilting with you. Are you on the fan site? If you are please contact me there. I use rainbowgal4 over there. I have many projects started. I come from such a large family. I always have some blanket that needs to be made.

mils Your description of Milwaukee made me so homesick. I miss the ethnic eateries, the neighborhood taverns, the “fests”, and most of all the Lake. I will be back there this coming week and then again in July. I will have to check out what’s happening then and arrange my trip around that. Any suggestions?

  14. JOJOSIE says:

There’s a site called What Are Celebrities Worth and it has Adam’s worth listed at five million. He’s worked very hard these last two years. Mils, don’t stop telling us about your adventures, I’d miss that part of you.

  15. Kradamour says:

Jojosie thank you for that information! Even if it is not completely accurate (and those sites can’t do more than a best guess, as I understand it), it seems that Adam has done very well for himself! He has said that he is financially secure now – I love that he is still recycling the clothes and not going “hogwild” as my dad would have said. Another wonderful tribute to his parents that he seems to know what is important in life.

ETA: Whoa! The fetus? 65.5 million.
    Gaga? 110 million

  16. milwlovesadam says:

Kradam, like you, I also search out the little things, I just don’t find them “significant” enough to post about!! (( Laughing at myself now )) I honestly get so much, as do most of us, I suspect, from my work, my family, I am truly blessed.

I do give myself rewards in music. My little private Adam concerts. My new Adele CD. I just listened to a bunch of Stevie Nicks on You Tube. Her cover of Dave Matthews “Crash Into Me” is genius.

Hey, Rainbowgal, don’t rush here too quickly! It may be a great city, but our weather is near monsoon today. Cold, rainy, windy, just awful!! I ran errands all day, my hair is like something out of a Tim Burton movie. My umbrella was nearly blown away tonight!! The only redeeming factor out of this is that everyone’s hair looks like shit today too! Ha! But, if Adam were in Milwaukee, he would look fabulous. Just know it!!

  17. milwlovesadam says:

rainbowgal, don’t forget Summerfest. And the festivals after it on the Summerfest grounds. And check out Brady Street. It is still a destination place. Sure, it still has head shops and “hippy stores”. But, cafes, coffee shops, lots of restaurants. It’s a good summer strolling place. Be sure to check out the Third Ward and Riverwalk. All re-built and many new buildings, just beautiful, historic and filled with people. And, don’t miss the Iron Horse Hotel. It has inexpensive cafes and is decorated like nothing else in town. It’s next to the new Harley Museum, and caters to bikes. However, it is upscale, won many awards for design.

  18. rainbowgal4 says:

jojosie has goatie garden posted on this site yet? I sent her an email but haven’t heard from her.

  19. Kradamour says:

suz, I hadn’t thought about the M&G income going straight to Adam. That would be (rounding and roughly estimating) almost a half million dollars. But I prefer to think that when the number was doubled, it was because he just wanted (or his management wanted) to allow more fans to meet him (and for him to meet more fans, which he seemed to genuinely enjoy). Silly and idealistic. I hope that it is at least partly true, though.

  20. milwlovesadam says:

Is anyone else following The Voice and the tweets about Adam and Xtina? If it is to be believed, our boy may just be singing there with her sometime soon! Let’s all keep our whatsis crossed and put it out to the universe for our boy to get his fantasy duet after all!

  21. rainbowgal4 says:

mils LOL My hair is curly and I do not miss the Tim Burton look. I spent all of my high school days trying in vain to be able to wear those high, smooth hair dos. I’d fashion my hair in the modern style and then the humidity and/or rain would roll in. It was a disaster!! Had my senior pictures taken 3 times for that reason. It rain each an every time. So my photo shows me not looking in style but with very curly, frizzy hair. Here in South Dakota it’s so dry that I forget what it’s like to live where it rains all day. If we ever get a whole day of rain we mark it on the calendar!

  22. rainbowgal4 says:

mils Thanks for the entertainment ideas. I used to date a guy who’s family owed a pizza place on Brady. I know that area well and love it. With your suggestions my days will be full. Sadly I wish my Mom could join me. She loved walking the old neighborhoods and eating at cool places. I’ll just have to take a lunch to go for her.

  23. HK fan says:

Kradamour, I know I need an avatar, seems to far beyond my crap IT skills at the moment. I went to that gravatar link that was posted earlier and tried to log in using my new password from on here, but it didn’t recognise it. Not sure where to go from there.
Mils, thats one of the great things about HK, the restaurants, hundreds of them with every cuisine you can think of.

  24. milwlovesadam says:

Rainbow, this has been a dreadful spring here. This is what I do. I imagine my trip to Hawaii. I’m not kidding. I close my eyes, and picture myself and Jo, goatie et al, snorkeling, laying out by the pool, and at our luau. It was so warm, lush and beautiful.

I have a feeling we will be clobbered by summer. Whenever spring is this cool and rainy, summer is beastly.

Oh my, I just became the Farmer’s Almanac!! I thought this was an Adam site!!

  25. Suz526 says:

Kradamour – I noticed that Idol is doing a VIP package this year that includes a M&G (selected Idols). Wonder if the kids will see any of that revenue?

  26. cwm says:

Suz526 — I’ve been curious. When you did your Meet & Greets with Adam, did he know that you were THE Suz526 of the famous videos? If so, what did he say about them?

  27. nkd says:

HK fan…don’t worry about your password from here. You will create a new account on gravatar with an independent password. You just need to link it to the same email account that you use for this site. Good luck!

  28. nkd says:

That’s a great question cwm, I’ve wondered the same thing.

Oh, I do remember the pic of Adam and Rolando! Smile

  29. cwm says:

    nkd:
Oh, I do remember the pic of Adam and Rolando! Smile

Ah yes, but did Adam know who Rolando really was?? Wink

  30. nkd says:

Ah yes, but did Adam know who Rolando really was??

    Well I don’t know! Suz?

  31. Suz526 says:

cwm – I never told him. He may have suspected because I asked him to autograph and pose with Rolando and Vito a couple of times – but I never brought it up and never told him my name (real or otherwise). Believe it or not, I worried all the time that that he might ask me to stop videotaping. I like to be invisible and the M&Gs made it difficult. (That’s why the balcony is my favorite spot). Fortunately for me, his time with each person during the M&G was very brief (1-2 minutes). My purpose for doing the M&Gs was to get early entry to the General Admission venues. I’m very short – and the GAs were really hard for me to film.

  32. Suz526 says:

cwm and nkd – I don’t know if he knew the backstory about Rolando and Vito. People asked him to sign all sorts of crazy things, so a camera probably seemed pretty normal – LOL!!

  33. Kradamour says:

suz, “very brief” is a relative term. 1-2 minutes would have seemed like an eternity! In Paris, my M&G was barely 30 seconds…but still totally worth doing. Smile

I saw the M&G for Idol tour…but you have no choice as to which idols will be there, it will be like the press access, they don’t know who will be available for interviews either. So I am thinking that it just goes into the pot, so to speak, the idols won’t receive money for the M&Gs. Just another way to pimp the tour.

  34. nkd says:

Thanks for answering Suz. I can now sleep tonight without any lingering questions! Except maybe what the hair will be tomorrow!

    Good night everyone. Smile

  35. Suz526 says:

Kradamour – I hear ya (“very brief”), and you’re thinkin’ what I’m thinkin’ about the Idols M&Gs.

  36. Suz526 says:

    Night all Grin

  37. cwm says:

Thanks for the insights, Suz. I can understand why you would keep silent and why you would fear what he might say if he knew!

Honestly, you have my utmost gratitude and respect for how hard you worked to follow Adam hither and yon and bring us the videos. I would picture you dealing with border crossings, transportation, lodging, finding the venue, standing in line, etc. in addition to everything it took to upload those videos so quickly, well into the night. Only to get up early the next day to somehow get to the next country/city/venue. You are amazing!

  38. jlurksacto says:

    Suz:

dealing with border crossings, transportation, lodging, finding the venue, standing in line, etc. in addition to everything it took to upload those videos so quickly, well into the night

missing passport; colds; the cold, rain, snow; last minute transportation
decisions. The life of a videographer. Didn’t you suspect that Monte
    knew?

  39. Suz526 says:

    jlurksacto:
You must have had a hidden camera on me – you nailed it! I’ll NEVER forget the $$$$ cab ride from Manchester to Scotland in the snow (shared with KeighleyUK and 2 others). The airlines were cancelling flights right and left and we didn’t want to take a chance of not making the concert. Fortunately, my fellow travelers were as intent as I was in getting to the show on time!

By the time we were in Paris, I was pretty sure Monte knew who I was (he came out to chat with the fans waiting in line, and told me to be sure to get the encore – he didn’t say what it would be, but that was the first night for “Purple Haze”). However . . . I can’t imagine ever being a topic of conversation between he and Adam – LOL!

  40. Suz526 says:

cwm – thank you for the kind words! It was challenging at time and I definitely mastered the art of sleep deprivation. Honestly, though, my two “moms” – Cher and Lee kept me grounded throughout the trip. I have a very special place in my heart for those two ladies!!!

  41. Summer says:

Didn’t Monte know about your filming way back during the East coast leg of the tour- I remember someone getting his attention and telling him that your camera had been confiscated at one of the shows , and that you were the one getting all the awesome videos and asking for his help to get your camera back to you – he came out and gave you a hug, but don’t think he was able to get your camera back!

  42. Summer says:

Love the new pics of Adam and Sauli- they are starting to look like twins- the blonde hair, the similar clothes.
They seem so easygoing and comfortable with each other- who knew he’d find love in Finland of all places!!!!!

I guess even invisalign braces aren’t so invisible when your name is Adam Lambert and the paps are out and about!

I sure hope the invisalign braces site doesn’t crash now!!!!

  43. luval says:

With Sauli and Adam’s beautiful blue eyes I love the darker hair. Makes those eyes pop! Sauli should let his blonde hair grow out. But love the blonde highlights on Adam.

Summer. Did I miss something? What invisilign braces?

  44. Kradamour says:

who knew he’d find love in Finland of all places!!!!!

Fortunately, Adam doesn’t think small. He sends things out to THE UNIVERSE and not just the nation…LOL

I agree that the best is how relaxed they seem together. Love also how comfortable Sauli seems to be with the paps and press. (Remember Drake’s “deer in the headlights” look?)
Sauli just seems very centered. Engaged and observant…his expression when he is watching something not personal to him is very like Adam’s: alert and in the moment but ever so slightly removed. It probably helps that he has personal experience at being the center of that sort of attention.
He seems, also like Adam, to have the gift of objectivity. Bodes well for a healthy relationship. Even if Sauli turns out to be not “the one”, I think Adam has found a good and forever friend.

  45. adamized says:

Morning everyone. Here is a GIF someone made of the photos from Saturday night. Very cute………

    http://i.picasion.com/pic41/721cf82175546e32b78e067a3adaceeb.gif

Krad, I believe Chunkey out did herself on the latest review. Very funny and totally irreverant and on-target. ITA re Sauli’s apparent self-containment when it comes to interviews and the Paps. In one interview he mentioned that he would only grab the limelight when he has done something personally to showcase. A very intelligent and mature outlook.

There do seem to be braces on his teeth if you look at the full size pictures available on Adam’s Pictures.

Love Adam’s new hair! He seems so so happy!

  46. Kradamour says:
  47. luval says:

Thanks kradamour. Am at work so I can’t examine those pics closely. Many of the comments seem to dispute that he has them.

  48. Suz526 says:

Summer – At the Cape Cod show, when Rolando was kidnapped confiscated several folks who knew Monte, tried to help by getting Monte to intervene, but it didn’t work. I met him for the second time that night (the first time was at the buses in SF for about 45 seconds), but it wasn’t until Paris that I felt that he knew who I was. When he started playing on his own at smaller clubs, I got the opportunity to talk with him after the shows when he mingled with the audience (and I checked to see if he was OK with me posting vids). He is just the nicest, most grounded guy. I have the greatest respect for him!

  49. luval says:

I love Monte! He was the first band member I ever met. Right on the streets of Wilkes Barre walking all alone!

  50. Oksana2000 says:

    Good morning!! Smile
IMO Adam’s latest look is one of the “bestest” he ever had. I LOVE golden streaks in his hair and minimal eye make-up. He is radiating happiness and it shows. I also love how comfortable Sauli looks in all the pictures taken so far.
On unhappy note, I’m dreading moment when our bored Brussel Sprout will decide to change his looks AGAIN.. Frown
