Summer is almost over and so is the “Once In A Lifetime” tour. It has been a fantastic experience for Adam and Queen and for the many who were fortunate enough to see them live (and even for those who just saw them online). The concerts may be over soon but they live on in our memories and on Youtube (since our memories cannot always be relied upon). They will have to do for now as we wait for new music from Adam and possibly another tour in 2015. It will be here before we know it!

    Wish we could get a pic from the place where Adam & Sauli stayed.
    Would love to catch a glimpse of the glass floor with the fish…

    (It’s still a place on my bucket list to go. Jetskis are beyond fun, and I would LOVE to ride them in Bora Bora. Island Sun )

    Might anyone know where they stayed while there?
    (our Super Sleuth research goddess, nkd perhaps?)

    Been listening to about 10 WWTLF so far. turquoisewaters the Philadelphia one is amazing. So far my top pick but have many more to go! And nkd, mmm222, adamized and cwm were there! You all can probably attest to that amazing vocal in Philly.

    Sorry to say TLKC, I really know nothing of the politics that go on in HK…..I think once you become a permanent resident after 8 years of living here, you can vote in local elections, ….but I’ve never met an expat that does.I have no idea how you would go about doing it. Don’t think it would be possible unless you spoke and read fluent Chinese.
    The one thing about being an expat in HK, especially if you’re white, is you will never fully belong, however many years you live here, or even if you were born here.
    I don’t know how this news would impact here, or even whether its a new thing, or if its something thats always been done that they have just voted not to change…
    Ignorance is very easy here when its something that doesn’t effect you.

    Glad to see FYE back in the charts in NZ….that has been one downer that I have been thinking, but not saying out loud. Its been amazing seeing all the tweets from people who didn’t know Adam saying how brilliant/fantastic/amazing he was with Queen, but they don’t appear to be buying his music to find out more….

    From that link I found other songs and this one amazed me. It was uploaded in 2010 but I think this performance was earlier than that. He didn’t look like Ty Taylor now at all. He looked so young with mohawk and looked very different from now.

    By the way .. on that show, … Is it the show that Adam got his idea to recreate “Ring of Fire”?
    I vaguely remember the scene and a rocker name Dilana(sp??) from this show.
    It’s eon times ago.

    The Toronto contingent got together for dinner i.e. TLKC, Northern Spirit, Angelowal, M, P, milkywayfairy, KDD to celebrate Northern Spirit and Angelowal‘s upcoming birthdays and your names came up a few times during conversations.

    Our waiter tonight was a very nice guy. I really liked him! I gave him a ‘tip’ on top of his gratuity ‘tip’.

    A “there’s only one Freddie Mercury” opinion type guy though.

    He’s looking at TLKC while I’m beginning to hold up milkywayfairy’s Ipad, Iphone, Iping, Ipong, whatever those things are called, to show him “Who Wants To Live Forever”.

    This is from 2012. He is now chairman of Warner Bros records.

    A great interview with Rob Cavallo.(record producer with A & R records) If you have 30minutes while you’re doing things, have a listen. He gives us tons of insight into what goes on with music, the music industry, how he has to talk to an artist, cost of studio time (about $3,000 a day), internet piracy and how it’s affecting the music industry, his own history in the music biz. How sometimes he can look at an artist and not like his look even if the song is good. (sometimes I do that). (A fit for Adam???

    I prefer to be an optimist about last night’s waiter. He discovered Queen at the age of 15 when he saw the tribute concert with Elton John, George Michael and Axl Rose. That led him to Queen’s recordings and he fell in love with them.

    He didn’t go to the QAL concert because he figured Queen wouldn’t be the same without Freddie but he wasn’t emphatic or dogmatic about it. Also, he’s a waiter; if his pocketbook was a little more expansive perhaps he would have bought a ticket.

    If he is okay with Elton John and Axl Rose and George Michael singing Queen, he is open. IMHO, if he had seen QAL, he would have loved them. He did admire Northern Spirit’s QAL T-shirt.

    We told him to go next time QAL is in town. Grin

    Yes, little duchess, that’s the rumour. You aren’t confused at all. People are focussed on Adam ‘s past relationship with Rob Cavallo because of that.
