Summer is almost over and so is the “Once In A Lifetime” tour. It has been a fantastic experience for Adam and Queen and for the many who were fortunate enough to see them live (and even for those who just saw them online). The concerts may be over soon but they live on in our memories and on Youtube (since our memories cannot always be relied upon). They will have to do for now as we wait for new music from Adam and possibly another tour in 2015. It will be here before we know it!

Enjoy the chat!

    Cher and Ladynorth
    I share the pain.
By the time I find out who is coming to Norfolk, there are no seats worth having. We have a lot of accessible venues in the cities of Hampton Roads, but the venues on the other side of the bridge/tunnel do no publicity over here and those performances don’t even make it into our newspaper (and we are talking about venues that are no more than a half hour drive away).
The paper used to list upcoming performances the week before tickets went on sale, but no longer. Makes me wonder if getting the info was too much trouble even for the newspaper.
Cher is touring now but by the time I found out she was coming here, no decent tickets available. I found out about her from American Express, because I bought a Queen ticket through their presale. Way too often I hear about a concert for the first time when I read the review after the fact.
    WTF?

I wonder if part of the problem is that tours seem to be on very shifting sands, with dates added and sometimes subtracted. I did know that Cher was touring, but when the tour was announced she had no performance within hitting distance for me, the date was added at some point.
I don’t get it. And promoters wonder why sales are down.
A pox on all their houses.
    No

OK. just have to get this off my chest (pun intended, you will understand).
You know all those “bodice-ripper” novels (and the films thereof), where it’s implied the ripper of said bodice is a strapping lusty male?
Well, that Elvis foto shoot is a bodice-ripper if ever there was one, for females! I’m sure more than a few would love to rip that shirt and jacket right off of Adam (they’re already halfway there anyway and the fabric looks pretty welcoming), and just throw him on a bed, et al.
I sure appreciate that he keeps himself beautiful even when not all of us like all his choices.

Big scream if there is O2 in Jan!!! Not a favorite season in London, but anyway it’s warmer and lighter than in Finland…

Kradamour and cher, that’s really annoying – I simply have no time to follow anyone but Adam Wink But could have some good live music shows anyway.

cwm, thanks for your kind words Smile Sometimes a small break is for good – now I feel like getting into this fandom thingy for the first time, same enthusiasm. (Especially because there was a reason why I totally lost the joy of all music for couple of months in spring, it was tough). I also had very mixed feelings about the tour – I mean it was over the top wonderful thing, but at the same time I was so sad that traveling that far is impossible for me Frown So when my lap top crashed I made a choice not to try keeping up with my tiny phone, instead to fully enjoy short (and quite hot this year) Finnish summer, returning to music later. I practically lived at my family’s summer house for 6 weeks. There’s something liberating in forgetting the technology for few months, just enjoy the silence except birds and do simple physical tasks Smile Besides music, my love and passion is the nature and outdoors life. I could not live without it. I like to focus on one thing at the time (can’t multitask), so now when autumn storms hit us hard, lap top is “cured”, my renovation is over and apples in the freezer, it’s time for Adam Smile

And even though it’s kind of sad I wasn’t around when everyone was flailing – thousands thanks that it’s possible to relive it again by reading your posts, comments and recaps. I also enjoy a lot reading tweets/reviews from Queen converts who now appreciate Adam. Maybe they don’t like all his music, but appreciate his talent. And IMO – Trespassing and Runnin would be just perfect for them.

    Milan?

About the predictions list: I would think there are more Eastern Europe venues. Czech, Hungary – Queen has been very popular there. I’m surprised if there is Russia, even more Ukraine Frown I’ve been wondering about Helsinki. Last time Queen played here (I read this somewhere) was 1974. But our biggest venue in winter is Hartwall Arena where Adam performed, “only” max about 13 000. Too small? But I know some Adam fans have contacted the main organizer of big concerts and asked for QAL concert. Who knows? I would love to go London and Helsinki.

This is a cause very close to my heart, since I spent my childhood in West Africa. Perhaps, now that ebola has touched so many people in Africa, the message about the dangers of eating bush meat will finally get through to them. This plus the advantages that eco-tourism brings to their country should make a difference but I’m not optimistic about anything in Africa these days.

Bit bummed about the dates so far……was hoping for something round Easter time, or the summer holidays….
Its so hard to get time off when you work in a school. Plus I would have to fly staff travel and I think around that date in Jan would be pretty bad trying to get a seat with all the university students going back….

LadyNorth – thanks for giving us a little window into what life has been life for you these past few months. Since you didn’t have a computer, I think it’s wonderful that you decided to go “cold turkey” on the technology and connect with nature over the summer. Good for you! But I’m also glad to see you back here flailing over Adam again! Heart

  34. cwm says:

Soooo… turns out that I need to be in Amsterdam for a conference in late February for work. What do you suppose the chances are that Q+AL will be within range during that time frame? Not gonna get my hopes up too high, but it could happen! Looking forward to Monday’s announcement!

  35. LadyNorth says:

Serious question: is anyone from here considering a visit in London in January? I checked O2 and it’s pretty far in the Eastern London, so confused what would be a best location to stay?

ulti, re Sauli’s pic, I assume he’s been modeling for this company (sells accessories etc.). More pics behind links in here http://www.konehelsinki.fi/

  36. cher says:

ladynorth the O2 is in Greenwich so that’s where it would be closest to stay.

  37. LadyNorth says:

Thanks Cher! I am just thinking is it too far from everything else (other London activities like musicals)? Is it better to stay closer to downtown and travel to O2? Anyway, trying to look for company first, and find out where other glamberts are going.

  38. rs says:

Another case of ADAM DID IT FIRST AND HE DID IT BETTER! It is all over the news that Lady G broke up a fight between her fans at a concert. Remember when Adam stopped singing and made them hug when he saw them arguing during GNT? It was in Europe, wasn’t it? Anyone remember exactly where?

    http://www.musictimes.com/articles/10840/20140926/watch-lady-gaga-breaks-up-fight-during-artrave-tour-concert-in-belgium-video-tony-bennett.htm

  39. rs says:

cwm Amsterdam in late Feb. would be fabulous! Except for the weather, of course. My cruise this November begins there and the choice was between arriving very early on Friday morning and spending the weekend there alone or arriving on Sunday morning and going directly to meet my friend at the boat. I decided to go on Sunday, thinking that I would make a special trip another time to see Amsterdam when I would be with friends. So we will keep our fingers crossed that QAL schedule a concert for a few days before or after your conference. Clap

    Meant Glamnation tour.

  43. Calgary says:

ladynorth There is literally nothing around the O2, other than fields and convoluted roads. We were there in July. The closest hotel is about a mile away. If you want to see London you are way better off to stay in London and take the tube or a cab to the venue. There is a tube station right at the arena. Cant remember how much, but cab is pricey, about £30. It’s about a half an hour drive from central London.

  44. LadyNorth says:

Thanks a lot Calgary! I found out there’s also a boat going straight to O2 from Central London. What would be the best area to stay, if I want to go to musicals too? Last time I stayed near Kensington gardens west from Hyde park, easy access to Hammersmith, nice peaceful green area – but it was July, so maybe more central now in winter Smile

  45. Calgary says:

Ladynorth Best area to stay would be Covent Garden. It is the theatre district and you can walk to many sights.

  46. sparkle says:

Good morning, ALL’ers!! Spending the day at my daughter’s volleyball tournament. Quick reminder – it’s near the end of the month and we need some more posts (155 to be exact)to get to our benchmark 2,000 for September.

  48. sparkle says:

My daughters are dying for a trip to Scotland. Anxious to hear tour dates and places! Could we do a family trip around QAL again? That would be too awesome for words!

  49. LadyNorth says:

Thanks Calgary Smile Have to search for that then. Of course hoping to find some company. Many peeps are waiting for the tour list first.

Good morning sparkle! I keep thumbs up for your family tour Smile
