Summer is almost over and so is the “Once In A Lifetime” tour. It has been a fantastic experience for Adam and Queen and for the many who were fortunate enough to see them live (and even for those who just saw them online). The concerts may be over soon but they live on in our memories and on Youtube (since our memories cannot always be relied upon). They will have to do for now as we wait for new music from Adam and possibly another tour in 2015. It will be here before we know it!

    Yes – it was a mess at the time. That BFM was being promoted as an Adam release – not Monte, nor Citizen Vein – some peeps thought it was his second album. Confusing. Didn’t Adam have to buy the music back? (The sleazebags in the court documents said Adam should not have been accepted by Idol as he had a previous contract – lie.) Hmmmm – all comin’ back now.

    At the time we considered that he had a family to feed, etc. etc. but buttom line he sold out (in the view of many peeps).
    In retrospect, it was a small amount of money for what he lost.

    IMHO, though, he never had the right sound for Adam’s music. But it is such a shame that they could not remain friends. Adam holds his friends tight – and apparently saw Monte’s position as betrayal. I think that most peeps agreed at the time.

    Finished Saskatoon, heading to Winnipeg.
    Just a note, dear AL, missing LOTG video, but there is a nice one posted by Ulti, http://youtu.be/hTOmShZBqh8 if you wanted to embed one. (You may regret these back-visits at some point, me being a pain in the tush for example lol.)
    I noticed that TSMGO for both Chicago (stunning) and Saskatoon were fabulous, but HATED the lighting and the camera work was really terrible, especially in Saskatoon. The song is an opus for a singer, and camera should be ON HIM, except during guitar or drum solo. Adam singing “My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies” and either guitar or blankness on screen is BS!

    lol – you’re great, riskylady – blankness on the screen would drive me nuts at a time like that – try to be grateful for what I get, but sometimes you just wanna take that camera and re-do it.

    Continuing on the road to recovery, we are reliving the Q+AL concerts one (or two) per week. This week we’re in Edmonton where mieps saw her first show. Post your commentary about those concerts in the Edmonton thread and feel free (I’m looking at you riskylady – PITT Wink ) to let me know if anything needs to be added or updated.

    Just wanted to say, I was never a big fan of Monte’s….. I think there must have been something major going on behind the scenes for Adam to cut him off like that, more than we will ever knoe. I remember some sort of trouble with his wife too, making some very snide remarks about Adam to his fans or something…
    I’ve never been that invested in any of his band to be honest…I like some of them but not enough to follow what they’re up to, and probably wouldn’t notice if they got replaced by someone else.

    Thanks nkd Smile Well, I have something to do when the storms and darkness of the fall arrives Wink But it’s a slow process, I have to cut internet time minimum for health reasons. Maybe I’ll jump on Edmonton train next, because it’s the theme of the week Smile.

    For me it usually goes so, that when I find a good vid, I want to watch the whole show from that person and then hours just go by Grin I went to bed 3 am last night…

    I love the beginning of the show, it’s so dramatic and strong. The way Adam’s voice begins behind the curtains. And that badass attitude Smile Now I’m here is such a perfect first song!

    I wasn’t around then and this is just a guess, but could it be that Monte couldn’t handle Adam’s success? Maybe he wanted to be in the core of it, not just a lead guitarist? Member of the permanent band, making songs for them, decisions etc. And Adam wanted to be his own person with his choices, not a band. What do you think, all?

    It has come to my mind many times, as many of you have commented here, that Adam is doing so fine these days. I realized I don’t panic if I am away for a while, because I feel very strongly he is doing great in his career and life. There have been times when there’s been some worries about that, in here and in fandom overall. Nowadays whenever I check what’s up, I read great news Smile It makes me happy, he deserves it so much.
