Summer is almost over and so is the “Once In A Lifetime” tour. It has been a fantastic experience for Adam and Queen and for the many who were fortunate enough to see them live (and even for those who just saw them online). The concerts may be over soon but they live on in our memories and on Youtube (since our memories cannot always be relied upon). They will have to do for now as we wait for new music from Adam and possibly another tour in 2015. It will be here before we know it!

    Went to see “Dolphin Tale 2” Friday with grandkid who visited Winter in Tampa last month. Really quite good, but my point is: Harry Connick clean shaven is quite handsome! The scruff on him is just awful! Adam finally has it about right, but Harry looks homeless.

    I ordered my Live at the Rainbow, it hasn’t arrived yet.

    Yes, with Freddie, it was the whole package. Seeing these vids on You Tube, even after all we have gone through with Adam, all the joy, all the voice, everything, simply everything that we are all so overjoyed about, sometimes, it just reminds me that he really is gone.

    I know, I know, it’s been 23 years, but when an icon dies, it leaves a hole in the universe.

    I never felt this way about anyone else. For some it’s Elvis, for some it’s John Lennon, for some it’s James Dean, for some it’s Buddy Holly, for some it’s Marilyn Monroe. For me it was always Freddie.

    mils, I’m quite addicted to that Toronto3 LOTG/SSOR/KQ/STL too – not just that we were there, but it’s just soooo fabulous in all the little excesses and flourishes too. Probably my fave segment of QAL, starting with I love Brian’s intro too.

    Anyone gonna buy the vodka? How much is it in US dollars? (plus shipping, etc…one bottle).

    I have met Harry Connick Jr several times. He’s very handsome in person but a little robotic. I was “forced” to go to his shows in a 50 mile radius from where I live by a Connick-holic (I made that up). Honestly I don’t remember the show. Smile He signs autographs after every show. At least he did back then. He has those hypnotizing eyes but I wasn’t drawn in. lol!!!

    Loved that “Flick of the Wrist” at first listen! Queen were really heavy metal rockers of sorts. It has a Metallica vibe to it.

    eta: there is so much about Queen that I don’t know.

    ‘Ya know, when I listen to early Queen, I can hear so much of things that may have been influenced by them, from Rocky Horror to Sweeney Todd to every hard rock band that followed. They were so original, so hard rocking, so mixed up in every genre, so visual, so daring.

    Just had a mini marathon of Chicago QAL by cos2mwiz. Wow. I never realized how polished the show got as it went along. Now I notice many little different glitches (too harsh a word) when I watch that first show. Obviously being there I couldn’t tell.

    luval, I noticed that too! I mean, everything was good, but maybe a little “plain” too. The crowd was wonderful, I thought. And some songs were just outstanding, like LK, WWTLF and a few others. But I was telling hubby how Somebody to Love became SOMEBODY TO LOVE over time lol. Also, KQ grew up.
    Now going (late) to Saskatoon (love that name)!

    I like Freddie, but now find myself listening for Brian much more than I used to. For me, he is the most signature sound of Queen. I don’t think ANY guitarist could ever replace Brian and still sound like Queen. His riffs, lyrical but muscular sound is so unique.

    Another thing about Chicago, Adam’s voice was in prime form, just incredible. Even though, I’m sure he had first night nerves, but sure didn’t show in his voice! And cos2mwiz was in a great location to get excellent sound, plus she must have GREAT equipment. And she’s an Adam expert by now, been filming him since before Idol. Someone called her Nina in the comments, wish we knew her.

    That’s what’s always been my approach to Queen, riskylady – was never completely on board with Freddie’s voice until I saw YT’s and the man in action – made all the difference.

    But, in truth, for me, it’s Brian’s sound that makes Queen – the band has had a number of singers, but no one has – or could, imo – replace Brian. And Brian and Roger were the nucleus of the original band, as we all know.

    (Unlike some reviewers, Bri’s guitar solo is a highlight of the show for me, as well.)

    I love to watch all the great vid links you bring here. After being without a computer for practically two months (two separate times in repair and then couple of weeks without important softwares), I am just too much behind to be able to catch everything. But what would be more fun than finding crown jewels (literally Wink ) week after week? Every time I try to catch up, I end up watching videos for hours. So I hope you are all well and kicking, I don’t know what has happened in mud box (I just caught up past 5 pages), what you have been chatting. But I am well aware that Adam gets better all the time, gets (deserved) great reviews and is looking breathtakingly handsome Sweat Razz

    I really hope my lap top is ok now; they have changed every important part of it. I have my downloaded vids safe, but I have lost all my browser bookmarks Frown It will be a huge job to find my favorites again… And I don’t know where to find the software I used for downloading.

    Riskylady, my freezer is full of apples that are waiting for your and riskyhubby‘s next visit Eat . It’s been very busy couple of weeks with them. Extremely fertile apple tree. I have picked and donated and cooked and freezed and made so many apple stews I need serious apple break Sick …

    riskylady…I loved cos2mwiz’s location in chicago with the bald, bespectacled guy and the TALL guy (who reminded me of Robert Irvine from Food Network) in front of her. They were both headbanging hard during BoRap.

    LadyNorth, yay!! Rest assured, if there is a Finnish concert we will try to make it. Good thing those apples are frozen, it may be a while, but Finland in non-winter is so appealing. And can’t wait to see you again and share another concert. I expect an announcement maybe by November-December for possible March-April dates (hope).

    Saskatoon is so fun. What an audience!! Love that Queen made a point to visit Canadian interior. Love for their fans. And Adam doesn’t just sing Queen’s music – he makes love to it, so much joy and energy every time.

    Went to see what Monte is up to – and found a song he did with Prong in 2007 called ‘Banishment’. Oddly prescient.
    I wonder if he and Adam ever run into each other in LA? It isn’t that huge a place. I hope not. It would be wretched for both of them, I think.
