September finds blond Adam back in the US after a busy August touring Japan and Australia. What’s in store for us this month? A third single announcement? Confirmation about Idol judges (is Adam one of them?!)? More speculation of a Queen+Adam tour or possibly an actual Trespassing tour? Will he add more shows in the coming months? Even Adam’s hairdresser does not know for sure. So while we wait, continue to chat away about anything and everything Adam related. Enjoy!

    In the mail this morning! ! ! ENJOY YYYYAAAAAYYYYYY! ! ! !

    (easily excited)

  2. eywflyer says:

Thanks jlurk! Looking forward to receiving it!

I am doing some long overdue site updates at this time, so y’all may notice some features intermittently not working. Hope to have everything back to normal again in the next hour or two.

AL has graciously agreed to run a live thread for Adam’s show at the 9:30 Club next Tuesday evening. I always seem to be working or traveling when Adam has concerts – so grateful to AL for doing so much to help out around here during the past few months!

Not sure if this was posted before but here’s the promo vid for Adam on The Voice China.

cher, thanks for the promo video for The Voice of China. Interesting to see that they used Idol footage. They must believe that showing Adam in the context of Idol/reality talent show is a selling point.

I was talking to a friend yesterday and we were thinking that it would serve Idol right if The Voice decided to hire Adam as a judge – talk about ripping off a chunk of Idol audience! The subject came up because their new judge, Shakira, is apparently pregnant. Of course, if they had to replace her it would be with a girl. NVM.

At any rate The Voice will be looking at ratings and will note how many people tune into livestrems etc. so I’m going to try and watch live, whatever time it is on.

Thanks for the links. One of them has to work n’est pas?

  6. TLKC says:

RE: Tommy’s black hair – it’s interesting that he had gone dark now that Adam has lightened up. Not as becoming as the blonde but he’s still cute.

He has steadily been gaining weight over the last 2 months. A while back group of fans noticed that he had put on a few pounds; to most of us, it was just enough weight to make him look very good and more of a man than a boy. Honestly, he was wraith-thin in person and a few extra pounds is probably a good thing.

  7. TLKC says:

LOL! eywflyer finally succumbed! I have to say, standing near the stage at a Queenbert concert is one of the hottest places on earth. One of the most memorable events of my life (and I’m old…semi-old.)

    The cd is amazing.

  8. TLKC says:

Whao….I can see a countdown happening on my posts. Is this a new feature? Hmmmm…only 5 minutes to edit. Penitmento possibilities pre-empted.

  9. eywflyer says:

TLKC, you shouldn’t see the countdown timer anymore, is it gone now? I had to finally update the comment editor plugin as it was very out of date, and the new version has some additional settings I’m still adjusting.

I think I have it set now where users can edit their comments indefinitely.

The good news is that our WordPress version, theme version and all plugins are now up to date, and as far as I can tell everything is still working, or at least the site didn’t explode! I have been procrastinating for months on updating all this stuff as it can sometimes be painful to get everything working again afterwards.

If you find some function broken or not behaving, leave a comment or send me an email using the site admin link.

  10. TLKC says:

    Testing…. testing….1..2…3.

ETA: Countdown still there. I can only tell you this for a maximum of 5 minutes, LOL.

    Plus I still can’t edit my earlier comments – 2 minutes and 50 seconds…..

  11. eywflyer says:

Just changed the settings again – try another comment and see if the timer is still there.

  12. TLKC says:

Oh, looks good now! I can apparently edit my earlier posts. Lets see if the countdown is still happening.

ETA: Yep, countdown is gone. Operation successful. Many thanks eywflyer and AL for all the work you do on maintaining and updating this site.

  13. eywflyer says:

TLKC, do you now have the edit option showing up for all comments, not just yours? My test user is now seeing that, it looks like anyone could edit anyone else’s comments. That wouldn’t be a good thing.

  14. TLKC says:

Yes, I have. UH-OH! I can edit every body’s comments. LOL! gonna have a field day…. JK

  15. eywflyer says:

Damn – obviously problems with the new version of the comment editor. I had to turn off edit comments entirely for now. May have to find a different comment editor plugin.

  16. TLKC says:

I actually tried editing one of Cher’s comments – just to add a little thing at the tail-end – and it let me in but when I tried to post I received a “disabled” message.

  17. TLKC says:

cher Grin Razz ROTFL Just kidding around, I wouldn’t make too much mischief for you. It’d come back to bite me.

Good luck eywflyer. In the meantime we will have to read our comments a little more carefully before we post them.

  18. TLKC says:

Hey luval, this is for you. A link to an amazing interview/review of Chabon/Telegraph Avenue in New York magazine. In view of the fact that Kevalier and Clay is Adam’s favourite novel, I consider this post to be on topic. http://www.vulture.com/2012/09/michael-chabon-telegraph-avenue.html

I think I’m going to read this novel next.

ETA: Thank G*d the edit function is working again. I had a couple of bloopers in here.

  19. eywflyer says:

Alrighty – I fell back to an older version of the comment editor which seems to be working properly. My test user can now edit only his own comments and no one else’s. There shouldn’t be any countdown timers either.

The new version of the comment editor has many problems, and it seems that there is no other good comment editor plugin out there. I thought for a minute that I might have to move us to the dreaded Disqus commenting system that MJ switched to, but I think we will be ok with this older system at least for now. I really don’t want to go to Disqus here.

The next person who shows up here – please let me know if comment editing appears normal to you.

  20. sparkle says:

I’m game to try it out, eywflyer. Sending this so I can edit it.
ETA: Seems like it’s back to normal.

  21. sparkle says:

Is anyone trying for VIP tickets for the 9:30 Club at 10 am? It is very tempting…

  22. rs says:

TLKC, and other Chabon fans, I guess that I am in the minority here, but I have to say that I haven’t been enthralled with what I read, or tried to read. My problem is with his writing style, not with the content. The first one I tried was “The Yiddish Policemen’s Union” and the language with the “Yiddish accent” got me so annoyed that I put it down after a few pages and never got into it. And I never do that. I didn’t really know who he was then, but after Adam recommended Kavalier and Clay I searched all the bookstores in the city until I found a copy. I read the whole thing and liked the story, but I really disliked the sentence structure. It was so convoluted, I had to keep going back to the beginning of the sentence to make sure what he was talking about. I felt like parsing the sentences like we did when we were in High School to keep it straight. It was like when I started reading “Sophie’s Choice” I was editing the writing in my head while I was reading it. And I am not a speed reader who skims the pages. I read every word and love good writing. Actually I reread some Jane Austin a while ago (Pride and Prejudice) and revelled in the language. So I am hesitant to try another of Chabon’s books.

  23. glambotgram says:

sparkle I wish I could, we could make some more bracelets.

The thing I keep thinking about, since it is a benefit for marriage equality, I bet he sings OOL. I want to experience that, live.

  24. sparkle says:

Pride and Prejudice has been my favorite book since being required to read it in high school. I have reread it many times. If you can find it, Mr. Darcy’s Story tells the story from Darcy’s viewpoint, which is very interesting. And, like Ellesay , I love the film version with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle.

  25. sparkle says:

The $250 tickets are already sold out (in 2 minutes) so I doubt they were offering very many.

  26. rs says:

That is my favorite version of Pride and Prejudice, too. But my favorite book of all time, and the one I have read numerous times is “Jane Eyre”. Every time I read it I find something new, and she was such a brave, independent, early feminist. Love it!

  27. luval says:

Chabon is one of the most difficult reads…any of his books! I find them a real challenge (not sure if that’s a good thing) and I have to sometimes write the character names down on paper to keep track. I read any review I can to get the gist of the story. I really admire Adam for reading Chabon.

  28. eywflyer says:

Got the upcoming shows list (upper right) and the Trespassing era map updated:
    http://www.adamlambertlive.org/trespassing-map

It’s cool how Adam’s shows (even the relatively small number that he’s had thus far in this era) span such a wide area that you have to zoom the map out to the entire world view to see them all.

I also changed the name of this thread back to September 2012 Chat. I don’t know what upbeat text I’ll be able to come up with for the October thread, but I’m trying to “climb that optimistic vine”.

I find it odd that AO has NO upcoming events listed. The ALF site has everything except the two South Africa shows listed.

  29. riskylady says:

    Just a quick update:
Yesterday, Trespassing dropped down to #146 in iTunes Pop Top 200
    Today, back up to #132.

So I’m here at work and just gifted Trespassing and Adam/Queen DVD to one of the medical students! He loves Adam, has FYE but had no idea he had another album out. He loves Queen and heard somewhere Adam had fronted them! LOL. So glad I keep a copy of each in my bag. Almost time to replenish again.

This student could not believe I was giving them to him. I did ask him if he illegally downloaded music. He emphatically said no. He was thrilled.

dcglam, I am so enviously Happy for you!
This could be a very important event, with a few political’s gathered there, to acquire votes.
They will be entertained, and the power of Adam will prevail.

I agree, that OOL should be sung. Can’t wait for video’s & re-caps from the lucky ones in attendance.

Just wanted to jump in and post a big THANK YOU to eywflyer and AL for all they do for us fans. I know I don’t post often, but I do check this site regularly, and am so appreciative that it is still a very well run and respectful site. Hard to find sites like that nowadays.
    Thanks again guys!

Honestly, what were the odds that Adam would announce a concert less than two miles down the street from another concert that we already had tickets for??? We can probably wave to you guys standing in our respective lines!
