In that moment, being shown the site in question and told it’s purpose, I would have reacted the same way.
Hilton just tweeted that she loves Adam. She was in a cab with a gay friend. Her comments weren’t about all gay men but rather those who would frequent a sex site that inexplicably advocates unprotected sex.
Paris Hilton may be a lot of things but one thing she’s not is homophobic.
I never thought the day would come that I’d be in Paris Hilton’s corner for any reason.
If anyone is culpable of any wrong doing here it’s the cab driver for releasing this snippet of a private conversation.
Hilton wasn’t talking about all gay men having AIDS but instead was referring to all the gay men who use that particular site and have unprotected sex. She made a general statement that many people would also generally conclude.

Does everyone here have a youtube account/channel. Got an interesting notice from them about public/private access.

I think he looks heavier cause it is those damn shaved sides, I thought Adam looked heavier in the face at the EMA’s.

And for some reason, can email youtubes to myself, but can’t open them and screws up my email. If try to open, get “can’t respond” from Microsoft Outlook and have to reboot. Can’t eliminate them from list of incoming emails just clicking on the X – have to right click and delete.
Happened last 24 hours or so. Any ideas?
It all occurred, guessing here, at approximately the time I was copying a youtube to iTunes by using “onlinevideoconverter” – which I’ve used many times with no problem.
While doing it this time, one of those ads came on where you have to actually click that you want to leave the page. Was a voice ad as well.
Just rebooted without clicking on anything in the ad as usually do when I get these things. Think the problem occurred after that.
The video went onto my itunes, however.
Confuzzled.
That’s it, glambotgram. The shaved sides. Could never, will never like them, no matter who has them.
Never even knew I had a “channel” until about a year ago. Just concerned if I delete it (as you can do), I’d lose the ability to copy the vids to iTunes.
Couldn’t care less about the “channel” – never use it for anything.
Guess TJ’s cute, but with sides or without them, never found him appealing in any way.

No, haven’t done anything, but the notice says everything will go private as of October. Know that youtube is doing something about having everyone’s real names on the comments.

nkd – the youtube emails were those I sent to myself so that I could then send them to my family. The last 24 hours or so is when I could no longer open these emails that I sent to myself. Have always done it this way, but now can’t.
What I’ve been doing today is “copying” the URL and then pasting it into an email I send to people. Even sent it back to myself that way. That one I can open. Weird.
Think I’ll go see Kris Allen at Rams Head in Annapolis, Monday, October 29 – cheer him on – nice guy.
I am back and can not imagine all I missed. I tried to keep up the first few days of my vacation but gave up. I am always sad coming home but am excited about the concert in Dallas with nkd and texas I also just realized we have tickets the night before to so you think you can dance at the same place! I danced Ballet for 16 years so I am very excited! Hope everyone is well and will catch up in the next few days. Happy Friday!

You said you didn’t remember having a channel. Do you post comments? If so then you have an account on which you could upload videos if you wish.
I know I signed up when that contest with Adam in it was going on, getting followers to his channel or something.

nkd does an account/channel get created just by commenting on a video or copying it? Seems it might since I don’t ever remember deliberately creating it.
I don’t need the Channel – I’d just as soon get rid of it, but don’t know what that means for sending or copying vids. (Asked my IT relative, but she doesn’t use youtube.)

Ulti, from reading that, it sounds as though you need to keep the channel, but the default privacy setting will be “private”. I’d let it go for now and see what develops.

When I found I had a channel, Krad – I went in and made it private – maybe no one else has done that. (I have three subscribers – lol).
ulti – you do NOT need to have your own youtube account/channel in order to convert youtube videos to mp3s for your itunes. I’ve converted countless performance videos to mp3s, and I do not have a youtube account. If the only thing you’re concerned about being able to do is convert videos, then you can safely delete your youtube account. All you need in order to convert a youtube video to an mp3 is to copy and paste the youtube video URL into the online converter.
If, however, you want to be able to comment on other people’s videos or post your own, then you do need to have your own account/channel.
Ultima, I had the same exact message, because I too had a private channel. Since one can send and receive messages inside YouTube (much like Adam’s Fan Site) I wanted them to be private. I couldn’t really fully understand what they meant – i.e. if one chooses to stay Private the channel/acct will be closed? I like to “like” and comment, and also rate other comments, but have never uploaded any videos.
So, to keep the ability to comment, etc. I just made it public, and deleted all comments, messages, replies, etc. so there is nothing there to see except my Favorites list which I need so I can access them on my TV through my WiFi DVD player.
I did recently formally report two terrible trolls that were posting the most OBSCENE comments I have EVER seen on Adam’s BTIKM video, telling the girls that posted there the horrible things they would do to them and that supposedly Adam, Tommy, Sauli and all gay men did or wanted, plus obscenities about Jews, blacks, etc. YouTube is FULL of jerks like that but these were the worst. Maybe they want to clean it up, because there are threats too, and this is like child abuse to the teens that post there.
Whatever. I liked it being private, but that’s what regular email is for I guess……

If you want to comment on videos you will need an account as they mentioned, which is probably how you have a channel in the first place!
cwm, riskylady, nkd – thank you all for the information. It was incredibly helpful. Now I’ll know what to do with the channel thingee – probably make it public and remove comments, etc. Your advice was a lot clearer than the youTube notice.
