I knew when this thread was started, that it would turn into a thread about Adam and his album sells. It’s kind of sad that the Kris fans turn his thread into a opportunity to take cheap shots at Adam. They seem to be more passionate about putting Adam down then talking about their boy Kris and his future. Kris has become an afterthought in his own thread.
@Oksana2000…I was wondering the same thing about Adam discussion on Kris thread…When Adam’s name comes on any other thread, MJ steps in and says to stay on topic, but I guess it’s ok when they are disecting Adam’s sales…Wierd how non fans of Adam know so much about his sales…More than I do…
What I noticed there is no mean comments on there directed at Kris, but if it was Adam, we all know it would be a different story. THe posters there would be so happy if it was Adam…
It breaks my heart how mean some of them are when it comes to Adam…

I like Kris. And for Adam’s sake, I am actually glad that he won and not Adam, even though it was an initial punch in the stomach. I think that Adam was much more free to make decisions as a runner-up, and that that underdog position actually suited him better. I can’t see what more he would have gained by winning first place.
Speaking of which, I was thinking of Adam yesterday – I rented a black Ford Fusion when my car was in the shop. Wasn’t that the car that Adam won? and replaced soon after with a Mustang? I remember his making a not-snide-but-arch comment about having to care about the environment when some interviewer asked him about the car and how he liked it. He clearly did not love it, but Ford was a big sponsor and it was a free car, after all. When I was driving it I tried to picture what Adam would think of it. I doubt that he would like it any better than I did, if he ended up with a BMW (which I also drive). It was kinda interesting to contemplate.

Oksana, I was reading that thread and had to slap my hands to keep from answering that IDIOT elliegirl. She and others keep posting that Adam’s numbers outside the US aren’t good, aren’t as good as FYE, blah blah blah. They know NOTHING. NO ONE knows Adam’s int’l numbers except him and RCA and his management, I suppose. What we do know is that the singles AND the album have charted well in many countries, and that he DOES get radio play. So, them wishing and wishing will not make it happen for them.
In fact, no one even knows his CURRENT US numbers, because the last sales number posted was July 23rd, I think.
Adam might fly directly from DC to Shanghai. It doesn’t make sense to fly west to LA and then east to China. It’s 12 hours diff between DC and Shanghai.
Then he flies back to LA and then back to Australia.
No wonder he forgets things…

Oh everyone, I am so touched and heartened by your wise and wonderful words of support and caring. Thank you so much! You have really helped bolster me, made me smile, and encouraged me. It’s been a rough couple of days; I felt really stung and like I’d had the wind taken out of my sails, but I’m tough, have grace under pressure, and will work through it. The thing that is probably making it the most difficult is that I already have a pretty prominent leadership role in the organization (and have for a while), and this new position would have put me in an even more prominent leadership role. So I’ve been under a microscope for almost 4 months, there are no secrets, and now that I didn’t get the new job, there’s no hiding either! Everyone knows! It’s so awkward!
But those of you who said when one door closes another one opens (or something along those lines) are absolutely right. Since I didn’t get this new position, it means that I would probably have the time to take on a different additional job that I had been considering – a position that would put me on the national stage in my field and for which I have already been invited to apply. As an act of self-empowerment, I’m actually considering tossing my hat into this new bigger ring. (Crazy, I know, I’m a glutton for punishment.)
Anyway, I’m blathering on for too long. Thanks for listening! Dark chocolate, ice cream, wine, and hugs all around!

So happy about the China concert. We should have known something was up with the Weibo. The big thing about China is media concentration. An appearance there goes a long way because everybody sees it.
The difference between Kelly Clarkson and recent Idols – Kelly’s reach on one promo appearance in 2003-4 was 10-100 times greater than David Cook’s or Adam’s. So many channels now and significantly fewer viewers per channel.
In China – he will definitely be seen.
cher and oksana, I wish that MJ would be quick to delete the posts about Adam getting dropped. They had nothing to do with the Kris thread. But somehow, she just lets the ones that put Adam in a bad light stay, and then she blames those of us who defend him or try to set the record straight for taking over other Idol’s threads. I heard a disturbing report that the word “ass” in Trespassing is being bleeped on a Chicago radio station. I really can’t believe that. So much worse being said on the radio. I hope it’s a troll.
RE: MJ’s – I am not going back there for a look. Easiest way to boycott a store is not to go it.
In a way, I feel sorry for Kris – even at this funeral they are “mourning” Adam. I gather it’s the haters bringing it up but it’s sad that Kris can’t just have his little moment without the conversation shifting to “you know who”. I have always liked him and so does Adam.
I believe Adam has at least one more RCA recording to go, though they may not pull out all the stops in paying for top-flight collaborators etc. Then he will probably go to the label Katie Perry is starting up.
Adam can make a quarter of a million a year (minimum) in appearances and headline on Broadway etc. Kris has far fewer options.
Even if these options are less than the Gaga-like international superstardom he openly dreamed of, he puts himself out there and, like cwm, will be rewarded over the long

ETA rs, MJ misses a lot of negative non-Adam posts , too. She has to have it brought to her attention. At that point she doesn’t bother to figure out who started it, she just deletes and, in this case, we will be black-marked in her mind as thread invaders. Better to respond to comments about Adam with “Isn’t this Off-Topic” and report it. Let her whip them into shape.
TLKC I totally agree. I like Kris too and actually just bought a ticket to see him in October at a lovely little sit down venue in Annapolis called Rams Head on Stage. I enjoy his music and think he is a good person and a good song writer.

So the Shanghai The Voice is Sunday Sept 30th. That would be approx 9am Monday October 1st EDT.
Just got back from the gym – my trainer is as thrilled as I am about the Shanghai concert. Suddenly the world seems open to Adam all over again.
Shanghai is an amazing city – the mix of ultra modern geometrically shaped buildings with the European architecture is wonderful. Shanghai market is a bit of a trap but there is still awesome shopping. I wonder if he will go early. If he leaves from DC he will go by way of Frankfurt airport, which is kind of a cool place imho.
He could also go home on the morning of the 26th and leave LA on the 28th. It’s a long, long journey either way.

And I am very sorry too that Adam gets the blame and hatred for something he is in no way responsible for… The times are bad for musicians. Maybe to get a lot selling artists the Idol should not concentrate on singing skills, but who autotunes/shocks/raps/rolls half naked ass best 
I prefer that Adam would not become such a mega star like Madonna or Gaga… Because that means too little privacy and normal life (saw a pic of Gaga, she has really gained weight at her tour). But of course I wish him global stardom and recognition

The mix station in Chicago did play a version of Trespassing with “ass” taken out.
I’ve noticed on the HAC mix station in Houston that they often play much cleaned up versions of songs. P!nk’s song has every other word missing, where as on the top 40 station, only the vowel sound is removed so it sounds like “sh t day”! It made me laugh, not much disguising there!
I think the edit is going to depend on the format and the station’s restrictions.
