September finds blond Adam back in the US after a busy August touring Japan and Australia. What’s in store for us this month? A third single announcement? Confirmation about Idol judges (is Adam one of them?!)? More speculation of a Queen+Adam tour or possibly an actual Trespassing tour? Will he add more shows in the coming months? Even Adam’s hairdresser does not know for sure. So while we wait, continue to chat away about anything and everything Adam related. Enjoy!

    riskylady…wow.
My family has lived in Maryland since the 1600s. Deep, deep roots. So proud of my state. And asking Adam to headline? A dream!
    Heart Heart Heart
I will actually be up in DC on the evening of the 25th FOR ANOTHER CONCERT…damn damn damn the timing…what to do what to do…
Pain Question Shock Question Pain Question

  2. luval says:

Geez…Adam’s DC gig is next week! No time to get off from work. Frown

  3. ultimathule says:

lol – Krad – yes, what to do?

Well, hate the 930 Club – but there’s a VIP area. Hmmm.

JUST ANNOUNCED! A Benefit for Marriage Equality feat. @AdamLambert on 9/25! Tix on sale Fri 10AM! @MD4Equality #MME930 http://bit.ly/OBVpMc

Thanks for the heads up, riskylady!
I’ve been checking the 9:30 Club site for more information, especially as to the exact time on the 25th. Also, will this be a small concert or just a performance? As of now, I am booked all day next Tuesday with working and an early evening birthday dinner celebration for a teacher friend of mine. I need more information. I would think this must be a very big deal for Adam to make the trip across the country.
Hmmm, I wonder if he will stay for a while in this area…. Question

  5. dcglam says:

Well, hate the 930 Club – but there’s a VIP area. Hmmm.

I agree, ultimathule. I’m generally not a big fan of this venue either, but it turned out well when I saw the GNT there in 2010. It was one of his smaller venues — only holds around 1,000 peeps — fairly up close and personal.

  6. riskylady says:

You guys are so lucky to have the chance! There will NEVER be anything similar in our godforsaken Republican-legislature-ridden state. I wish I could go, but I can’t.
And I have lots of family in DC and Georgetown.
I too am proud of your state, krad, and especially happy that they chose Adam to perform, and not one of the pseudo-gay artists out there (looking at you, Frank, Nikki, Gaga)!

Oksana, I agree, Chamberlain did what so many have done before him to preserve his career (Rock Hudson, Montgomery Clift, to name a couple). Sad.

  7. dcglam says:

Movies I can watch over and over: My Cousin Vinnie ,Legally Blonde,Dirty Dancing,Working Girl (my guilty pleasures)

    OMG, Oksana!
I remember being obsessed with Patrick Swayze and this movie seemingly forever. I watched it a zillion times — truly lost count! Most of the time I spent drooling over Patrick. Wink

  8. dcglam says:

And I have lots of family in DC and Georgetown.

Do you ever come out this way, riskylady?
Let me know if and when….. Wink

  9. luval says:

    Skimming movie lists,

    Body Heat
    Pretty Woman
    My Cousin Vinny
    Gone With The Wind
    Fried Green Tomatoes
    King and I
    Notting Hill

Body Heat ( Yes, I said it twice) OMG. Love that movie.

I have Vinny saved in my VCR. I watch certain scenes for a pick me up. Kills me.

Who mentioned The Diving Bell and The Butterfly? What a fine film. So moving. So well made. As a speech therapist, it wounded me. As a human being, it moved me.

  12. luval says:

haha mils…I don’t like one of the movies you just posted! (except Notting Hill)There must be something wrong with me. Not liking Gone With the Wind??

Did you notice I had American Gigolo in my list from early this morning? Also loved Boogie Nights. My taste is a bit bizarre.

eta:…not bizarre…one of my top 5 favorites…Shindler’s List. Oh, just remembered …Papillon & the Color Purple

  13. Kradamour says:

I was the poster for Diving Bell, mils. Those scenes where his wife is writing his letters to his mistress? so painful to watch her and the expressions barely showing on her face. THAT is dignity.
    I love French films…

OMG what to do about DC???? I really want to see Lindsey Stirling that night at the Hamilton…and have seen Adam already this year…but this venue/context might be a special concert. Or, it might just be a political gig with a few songs. Adam is “headlining”…are there other performers? Governor O’Malley can be chatty…need more information.
And I am teaching a class on Friday morning…
ulti, adamized, what do you want to do?

  14. JOJOSIE says:

I was going to stay out of the movie discussion but here I go. My all time favorite is Pelican Brief, with Denzel Washington and Julia Roberts. I like almost anything with Denzel, Brad Pitt or Kevin Costner. Who can leave out his Dances with Wolves from a classic list. I like adventure movies without a lot of graphic horror and bloody sceens. I like The Net (Sandra Bullick), The Client, Sea of Love and most Dirty Harry movies. For humor I liked the Bridgette Jones movies. THis older lady has forgotten a lot of the movies I saw early on, lots forgettable musicals, ala Betty Grable. I do remember the first Gregory Peck movie, it was Duel in the Sun and as teenagers, we called it Drool in the Sun. Like the new 3D movies for children and adults. Eye popping. I hope for more Adam news as we seem to be getting restless.

  15. Kradamour says:

    Too funny! Loved this!

  16. luval says:

Yes, Dances With Wolves!!!!! and JFK & All The Presidents Men

  17. HK fan says:

riskylady, the interview nkd posted is Japanese not Chinese.

3 of my favourite films I love rewatching again and again are Air America, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and A Knights Tale…
I will have to confess to having never watched Casablanca or Gone with the Wind, and most of the other classics mentioned here…..although I did have a thing for John Mills when I was young, loved him in things Like Ice Cold In Alex…and Steve Mcqueen movies were always cool.

  18. dcglam says:

Or, it might just be a political gig with a few songs.

Krad, this is what I am trying to get more info on. The ALF site has announced a presale for tickets on Thursday morning. We still don’t have a time listed for this event.

  19. HK fan says:

yep Dances with Wolves, and Braveheart, used to love Mel Gibson, love all his older movies,

  20. HK fan says:

Trespassing 27 on Russian charts already

via @AdamLambertRUAB @AdamLambert’s #Trespassing is #27 on Russian Billboard Chart already! http://twitpic.com/avzx6g whoo hoo!!!

  21. riskylady says:

Thank you, dcglam. Once in a while, to visit niece in Georgetown She lives down the block from that famous cupcake place. I lived there three times (Dad was career Navy, in JAG) once in Arlington off the Pike (3rd grade), once in Alexandria (10th grade – skipped school and went to McCarthy hearings) and junior year of college (Georgetown U. School of Languages and Linguistics). Then went to live in Nicaragua. Love DC, used to go downtown to sketch the wonderful buildings. Also to attend concerts on floating barge on the river, and I LIVED in the Smithsonian.

OMG, yes! American Gigolo (YUM Richard Gere), Dances with Wolves, and ….. The Natural, lovely, seedy, slightly older Robert Redford. Woody Allen and Steve Martin movies (The Man with Two Brains LOLOLOL).

  22. riskylady says:

Tks, HK fan. Yes to Steve McQueen, and speaking of Scotland, who can forget Liam Neeson in the wonderful “Rob Roy” – gorgeous scenery, beautiful music.

  23. Kradamour says:

General admission tickets to the benefit show are $125, VIP Tickets, which include early admission, a commemorative poster signed by Adam Lambert and a special VIP viewing area, are $175, and Premium tickets, which include a pre-show Adam Lambert meet & greet VIP reception with food and drinks and Premium viewing area, are $250. 24. luval says:

    The Jerk! LOL!!!

Although I’m not going I’m anxious to see the “poop” on the DC gig. Just curious.

  25. ultimathule says:

“The Quiet Man” – Ireland as it should have been in all my dreams.

  26. ultimathule says:

Well, Krad – saw him at National Harbor and radio station, but feel here that a really beautiful opportunity has been dropped in my lap. Will wait to find out more – the extent of his performance especially – but it’s a great GREAT temptation.

  30. milwlovesadam says:

Dances with Wolves. Can’t turn it off, love it. Know every single line of dialogue, in both cuts.

The Jerk. An often quoted movie in my house. ” Well, I need this…” ” I’m in the phone book!!”

If I could do it, I would do the $250 dollar DC thingy. Really, it’s like a $75 dollar meet and greet. Because most of us would do the VIP anyway, so ya might as well go for it. That’s my theory. FWIW.

  31. Kradamour says:

Well, Krad – saw him at National Harbor and radio station, but feel here that a really beautiful opportunity has been dropped in my lap.

IKR? and I was at Wilkes Barre, too. But on the same night as Lindsey Stirling!!!!! If not for that, I would go in a hot minute. But I love Lindsey and the way that she has gone out there and made a career happen for herself in spite of the naysayers. Was so much looking forward to her live performance and sharing it with you and adamized. Okay that is entirely enough angst. Que sera sera.
    Confused

  32. Kradamour says:

Agree re the $250 ticket – plus it is a fundraiser for a really good cause in my home state.
And how many of us have paid that or more for a stubhub ticket for glamnation?
    (shrug)
Sheesh, the way I talk you would think that I can actually afford an Adam addiction…
    Confused

  33. milwlovesadam says:

    Me too. Me too.

What I need is a sugar daddy.

Krad, I paid that in Hawaii. And a meet and greet. That trip was out of bounds, off the hook, over the top, and so very worth it!!

  34. TLKC says:

I’m a real movie buff – this is the first year since 1995 that I did not take the week off to attend the Toronto International Fill Festival. I usually see between 20-25. I could never give you a list of favourites – it would be all over the place but Breakfast at Tiffany’s is definitly in the top 5.

Nice to hear from you cwm. I didn’t know that on top of all the things going on with your mother, you were interviewing for a new position. It just goes to show that Adam’s experience isn’t uncommon. I do think he is experienced enogh in the industry to expect it and deal with it but it does stink. I also think he knew a couple of weeks before the final announcement.

Hope you get the job. Smile Yes

  35. riskylady says:

Don’t think this Part Two has been posted here (of the USA Hit interview/Adam on the floor)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM3Hv0l7rvo&feature=youtu.be

  36. TLKC says:

Wish I could go to DC fundraiser as well but it’s a bit short notice. Too busy at work at the moment as well. I haven’t attended a Trespassing concert yet and I really want to.

I sounds at though you are really torn Kradamour. What is the other concert? Are you committed to attending with friends?

  37. adamized says:

Evening ladies and gents. Talk about a perfect storm of Adam opportunities. I was just thinking a few nights ago that if Adam came to the 9:30 club I wouldn’t miss it this time around. On the other hand krad, ulti, and I had a perfectly civilized lovely evening planned to see an absolutely unique and wonderful performer. I’m thinking we should stick with our original plan but probably could be easily persuaded to go switch. The things that boy does to us.

cwm I totally agree with everything kradamour said. You may know something by now and I hope it is what you want. Good for you for putting yourself out there and taking the risk.

I loved reading all your favourite movies. It brought back some great memories. I loved Body Heat when I was younger but thought it was absolutely horrible when I watched last year. All I could think about was who would be so stupid as to not have air conditioning in Florida!

    Love:
    Going Home
    Norma Rae
    Our Local Hero
    Rosemary’s Baby
    Trains, Planes, and Automobiles
    Momento
    Shaw Shank Redemption
    Pretty Woman
    The Year of Living Dangerously
    Once
    The Commitments
    Cool Hand Luke

Loved Adam in the Japanese show. He looked so happy and handsome.

I just met Ernest Borgnine, on April 5th 2012 at The N.W. Film Festival, in Portland Oregon.
He was 95, and an absolutely riveting speaker. He shared many old Hollywood stories. He seemed fit, with no cane or walker, and his mind was funny & sharp.
    So shocked of his death.

Loved so many of the movies already shared.

OMG, how could I have forgotten Shirley Temple movies? Love them. Weird how when she hit puberty she lost her total ability to act. Unlike Elisabeth Taylor who just kept getting better and better. Loved many of your choices.

Speaking of which can’t believe I forgot:

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
    To Kill a Mockingbird

    Terms of Endearment

And, in the back of my mind, Krad and dcglam is eywflyer’s admonition about whether or not there will be a Trespassing Tour. His advice to see all we can now just haunts me.

I really loved that Speilberg series Taken too.

They’re showing Into The West again now. Love that too.

Oh!! And how could I forget The Sound of Music and, hold on—

The Ten Commandments ( soooo OTT, but love it )

    And:

  46. Kradamour says:

TLKC, I always dream of going to the Toronto film festival. I was just planning to perhaps go next year.
I go to the French Film Festival here every spring…20 movies in three days. Then thud. And the emotional schizophrenia…first a comedy, then drama, then perhaps a documentary, then perhaps a historical drama, then a thriller, then…head spinning by the end. Wouldn’t miss it!
    Film Heart Film
If I do go next year, we should meet up.

  47. milwlovesadam says:

Oooh. Rosemary’s Baby. This past summer son #1 wanted to know what movie was the scariest, which one stuck with me the longest. I told him two, Psycho and Rosemary’s Baby. So he watched them both through free downloading, his opinion, Rosemary’s Baby was scarier. More realistic. But Psycho freaked him out as well. So I told them to check out Rear Window, which they proclaimed one of the best movies ever made. Made me so proud.

Trivia, did ya’ll know Rosemary’s Baby was filmed in the Dakota on Central Park West? The same building where Lennon lived and was killed in front of.

  48. Kradamour says:
