September finds blond Adam back in the US after a busy August touring Japan and Australia. What’s in store for us this month? A third single announcement? Confirmation about Idol judges (is Adam one of them?!)? More speculation of a Queen+Adam tour or possibly an actual Trespassing tour? Will he add more shows in the coming months? Even Adam’s hairdresser does not know for sure. So while we wait, continue to chat away about anything and everything Adam related. Enjoy!

Oooooh, Krad, Teri, Ceddies, ultima, more great ones! Ron, too – that was one of my Mom’s favorite movies and I watched it with her a couple of times before she left us.
Ultima, will check out that documentary. His films are so unique.
Movie scores contribute so much. “Somewhere in Time” and “Out of Africa” have amazing ones, as does “Blade Runner.” Oh, and romantic? “An Affair to Remember” with Deborah Kerr….
And, “Suddenly, Last Summer” – Liz Taylor, Montgomery Clift (had the hugest crush on him as a teen, those eyebrows!)

  2. ultimathule says:

The studio “Feelin’ Good” is one of the most extravagantly beautiful, incomparably sung tracks I’ve ever heard in my entire life.

    I bow before it.

  3. ultimathule says:

The first time I ever saw Montgomery Clift was in “The Search” – wartime Berlin – finds a lost boy and helps him to find his mother – the end is a blessing.

  4. riskylady says:

So agree about Feelin’ Good, ultima. DDD Forum has it as his #1 studio recording, and I remember the discussion where one of them said it was perfect, had everything it should have and nothing it shouldn’t have. He can really craft a performance like no one else.

  5. Ron says:

    riskylady,

Of course you saw this, right?

I never get tired of watching this.

  6. HK fan says:

Gosh, I’m really out of it, I’ve only seen 1 or 2 of the films mentioned tonight and haven’t heard of a lot of them…..

Hi everyone. Remember late July I posted about a saltwater crocodile that was caught and removed from my street? He was tagged and released over 20 miles away with a magnet taped to his head to disorient him so he wouldn’t be able to come back “home”?
Well, he’s baaaaccckkk!!!! They haven’t caught him yet but have pics of him swimming in the freshwater canal across from me. News crews and Game Officers all over today. I actually was on one of the local news channels for a bit tonight (caught me when I got home- Frown ) I haven’t seen the croc, nor do I hope to, but the normal residents of the canal, a goose and some ducks (fewer now Pain )have been living over here across from the canal outside my gate and in the road for the past two weeks. Now I understand why they won’t go back to the canal. Poor things are homeless. Frown) I think I’d leave home too in the same situation, wouldn’t u? Cry

    Absolutely.

He was tagged and released over 20 miles away with a magnet taped to his head to disorient him so he wouldn’t be able to come back “home”?

    Shock Shock

Well, he’s baaaaccckkk!!!! They haven’t caught him yet but have pics of him swimming in the freshwater canal across from me.

It’s no wonder to me why he’s back. Like everyone else Cher, he loves you!

Crocodile stalkers are the worst kind though.

I suggest you jump into the canal and kill it.

    Laugh

And with that sage piece of advise, bonne nuit (good night) Sleepy

  9. cher says:

Ron, I could live without crocodile love in my life. ROTFL But not without yours!! Snicker

  10. rs says:

Lots of good movie recommendations. Casablanca has always been my favorite.

But nobody mentioned “Coming Home”. I loved it. It was the best movie to come out of the Viet Nam war generation, Jane Fonda and John Voight were so great together, and that love scene, Whew! So good and so important on so many different levels. I don’t know how many times I saw it.

  11. HK fan says:

    dear rs
Thank you for my present, it arrived about half an hour ago, haven’t listened to it yet, just have to go to work, (meet the teacher night), so I’ll play it in the car.

  12. rs says:

HK fan, glad it arrived safely. Hope the sound is OK. It is best listened to in the car. Enjoy Big Smile

I could go on and on but will stop. I guess I just love movies, reading, and music. Just like all the great people who post here.

  15. eywflyer says:

I’m seeing twitter mentions of an article in the Las Vegas Review Journal that has a DJ making some unfavorable statements about one of Adams songs. Please do not post any quotes from that article here, as that newspaper is notorious for going after websites that quote any of their material. Thanks.

  16. TLKC says:

Ron, thanks for the link to that YouTube of Kurt Browning skating to Adam’s Feeling Good. It had the added benefit of introducing me to another YouTube video, an Adam interview I had never seen. It was the one about french-kissing a dog. Ewwwwww! That was the only palatable choice in all the options given to him.

OMG cher, that crocodile is a definite stan. The authorities are going to have to do something if he keeps coming back. Can’t imagine what it must be like to have to leave your home.

  17. TLKC says:

I read about the journal. It is reporting on NCOE’s similarity to another song. Can’t say much about that because I don’t know the other song but the DJ has apparently heard from quite a few Glamberts that he should take it up with Bruno Mars.

Nice that the journal reported Deadmau5’s reaction. They figured Adam didn’t write it; he just sang it.

ETA: just listened to Ghost’s and Stuff. It’s electronic music – no vocals. I’m not knowledgeable enough to grasp the similarities but I imagine the basic structure is similar to the electronic beat underlying NCOE. Hardly a big deal in the pop music world.

They asked Adam to comment and he didn’t – as if he’s going to point the finger.

  18. cwm says:

Hi guys. Just popping in to say hi. Loved that INRock translation (I remember the author livetweeting that photoshoot and she was enchanted with him) and the Soundbath article. The Soundbath article brought back such sweet and lovely memories of the Queen shows.

Life for me continues with it’s ups and downs and transitions and unknowns and surprises. Yesterday was the day that we moved our daughter into her dorm. I can hardly believe that she’s moved out. She’s thrilled and I’m so thrilled for her, but the heartstrings are tugging.

My mother-in-law continues to have good days and bad days. She’s 92, and sometimes feels so bad that she’s certain she’s dying right then and there, and then she rallies, feels fine, and goes and walks a mile. It’s confounding, and is certainly keeping me on my toes.

I felt bad for Adam not getting the Idol judging gig, but if that judging panel ends up being a trainwreck and Idol goes into decline then it’s just as well that Adam’s not on it. But the thing that I empathize with him most about is that he was strung along for so long without knowing his fate (and I believe that he didn’t know his fate until a week or so prior to the announcement). I have my own parallel saga in that regard. I applied for a significant and important job promotion at work. I applied back in late May. And after a grueling 9 hours of interviews, presentations, and vetting with my colleagues, and their multiple meetings to deliberate without me present, all I know three and a half months later is that I’m still one of two finalists. I’m the internal candidate; the external candidate is higher profile, more experienced, and more credentialed, but I know the organization inside and out and what’s needed for the job and I know I’d be good at it (sound familiar to Adam’s situation?). I’ve worked with my colleagues for 3 months now through this long drawn-out process, not knowing whether they want me in this new high-level position or not. Awkward! No hints, no leaks; I have no idea. I finally find out my fate later today. So yeah, Adam, I can relate. Thinking Fingers crossed!

  19. turquoisewaters says:

cwm: Fingers crossed for you!! Phew, so many things going on in your life. You must be exhausted. I am really hoping they are coming through for you at work.

  20. glambotgram says:

LOL Strange List, I guess I am all over the place with movies.

  21. turquoisewaters says:

Ghost’s and Stuff: I don’t find it very similar at all. Whatever.

  22. luval says:

Love reading everyone’s favorites. I could pick out choices from each of your posts as some I love and some I dislike. At least we have that one thing in common that we all know and love!

My favorite movie is Weekend at Bernies! Nuf Said!

Glad Adam didnt get the AI job, after a few peeks at MJs about the judges, my head is spinning about all the crap already, can you imagine having to read it about Adam, we all would be loopy! I had to check out of there!

Still cant find a house, Grrr, we are really in a mess, I am trying to keep my sanity, and not keep crying.

Prince was on The View yesterday dressed in Trespassing colors. He has over 300 songs he wrote in the vault. Hopes they will get played some day, maybe after he is gone.

I still love Adam in black hair, and in the Queen tour.

My puppy Trespass is black with yellow eyes, how weird.

  25. rs says:

Hi cwm, So glad that you found a few minutes in your busy and stressful RL to check in with us. It is one of those situations where you just have to deal with each day as it comes. I am keeping my fingers, toes and anything else I can think of crossed for you today. They would be stupid not to take you. (Yeah, I know, it sounds familiar, and not just from Adam, it is a situation that I know very well). Just know that you have a huge peanut gallery here rooting for you. Clap Fingers Crossed Victory

ETA, As usual, I agree with what you said about Adam and Idol

  26. Kradamour says:

I am keeping my fingers, toes and anything else I can think of crossed for you today. They would be stupid not to take you.

cwm, having had the so fortunate opportunity to spend time with you this summer, I can totally vouch for the fact that in everything that matters, you are the better choice. Smarts, people skills, inquiring mind, honesty…when we talked about the position this summer I was sure you were a shoe-in. All my body parts are crossed for you, chérie. If it is supposed to happen, it will. And if it doesn’t, then you are meant for something else on the horizon.

  27. Kradamour says:

OOOH, a couple few more movies:
Rear Window (how did I skip that one?!)
    Toy Story
    Bambi
    Ratatouille
    The Gods Must Be Crazy
My One And Only (Tommy Tune and Twiggy; delicious!)

OMG, Miss Chaos. I laughed my head off during that movie. Loved it. Also forgot to mention others that I like:

    The Birdcage
    The Mothman Prophecies
    The House of the Spirits
    A Passage to India
    Dr. Zhivago

  31. Ceddies says:

Miss Chaos and cwm, I’m hoping that the right thing will come along for each of you VERY SOON. Life in limbo is not a good feeling and takes a toll on you. Saying a little prayer for both of you.

  32. nkd says:

Lots of great lists of movies. I think y’all have mentioned most of my faves. I made a list last night but didn’t post it and now can’t remember what all I had on it! A couple were mentioned this morning, Rear Window and Arsenic and Old Lace.
turquoisewaters, Never Say Never? Haha! Laugh

  33. riskylady says:

Yes, Ron, I did see Kurt Browning’s skate to “Feelin’ Good.” So glad it was him – I looooove his skating, so powerful yet graceful, he has always been one of my faves. Good taste in music!! Thanks for reminding me, I downloaded it.
So many great movies, AND authors. I like many of those too!

If that girl from INROCK wants to have a VERY comfortable early retirement, she just needs to put that pic of Adam in long top and grey cotton underwear on eBay. Or, maybe she should just go straight to Christie’s with it…..LOL!

Re NCOE and Ghosts & Stuff, maybe they were talking about this? It does have vocals, but NOTHING like NCOE, IMHO. Not even close. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7ArUgxtlJs&feature=relmfu
Maybe he was just stupidly pimping Deadmaus for hits?

  36. Oksana2000 says:

I am movie buff. However, lately I’m getting bored much faster while watching movies. Maybe I’ve seen too many?

This is my list of favourities.

The best ever: The Shawshank Redemption.
The most unappreciated: Fried Green Tomatoes.
Movies I can watch over and over: My Cousin Vinnie ,Legally Blonde,Dirty Dancing,Working Girl (my guilty pleasures)

    To kill a Mockingbird
    First half of “Titanic”.
    Lord of Rings trilogy.(Extended version)
    Road to Perdition.

Action movies: Taken, Man on Fire, Kill Bill (both parts)

Movie I cried the hardest while watching: Manon of the Spring (sequel to Jean de Florette)

    Love, Actually
    Pretty Woman
    The Wittness

I saw every movie that won the Oscar and I’m not sure that some of them should. JMO.

My list does not contain serious movies, but I’m not in the mood to watch anything sad and gloomy lately.

Oh, and I love “Good Will Hunting”..How do you like them apples??

  37. missdfyed says:

    Some of my faves:
    Legends of the Fall
    Meet Joe Black
    Coal Miners Daughter
    The Green Mile
    Sling Blade
    The Homecoming (big Waltons fan)
    Dirty Dancing

Movies I crack up to everytime:
    Mrs. Doubtfire
    P T & A (Planes, Trains & Automobiles)
    Austin Powers

Most awesome mini series, do any of you remember
The Thornbirds (Richard Chamberlain!!) Love, love that movie!

  38. nkd says:
  39. riskylady says:

missdyfed, I confess Meet Joe Black is a guilty pleasure. Legends of the Fall, and A River Runs Through It I love, but HATE that Brad Pitt dies in both.
And yes, I remember The Thornbirds – great book, great series. Also, Shogun was a great series too! (And a great cannot-put-down book.)
I would love to see Adam as a hero/love interest in a series like Shogun – he would be believable to every woman on the planet!

  40. Oksana2000 says:

Every movie with Johnny Depp. I’m sucker for high cheekbones. And he is a great actor on the top of that…

  41. Ceddies says:

nkd, I enjoyed the BestHit video. He was so relaxed and cute.

  42. Oksana2000 says:

riskylady, didn’t Richard Chamberlain played in both (Shogun and Thornbirds)?
I remember rading Shogun many years ago – it was one of the hardest book in English for me to read. James Clavell has very rich vocabulary and I spent a lot of time with a dictionary.
Thornbirds was a good reading too. But the most rewarding was reading “The Godfather” – it says so much more about main characters and plots.

  43. Oksana2000 says:

The girl from INROCK noticed the same thing that I noticed : Adam is really working out lately. Must be Sauli’s influence.YAY!! Smile

  44. Oksana2000 says:
  45. Miss Chaos says:

Anyone see the interview with Justin Beibers mother? Pretty sad, even tho I dont like the kid, and he cant sing, and proves it everytime he tries it, his mother had a pretty rough life, I didnt know that, if its all true, not just for attention.
Anyhow I bet Adams mother could write a book about Adams child hood too, even tho they dont look for that kind of publicity.

I watched Revolution last nite some things were pretty stupid in the background, but as the story went on and ended it was pretty good. I hate to start watching shows and like that and get into them, then they get cancelled.
My very favorite cancelled shows are, Alias, Prison Break,a show with Jimmy Smits, Cane about Cuban families Cane industry, Oh and Moonlight, with that dam hunk Alex O’Loughlin, oh man that was a good vampire show, hes now in Hawaii 5-0 which is very good. My new guilty pleasure, Revenge, now starting on Sunday nights.

  46. Oksana2000 says:

Miss Chaos, I watched Revolution as well, and the stupidiest thing was bare midriff of the daughter. Cause this is the way one dresses up when going to the forest for hunting. I know this is a fantasy, but I like some reality when it comes to details.

  47. riskylady says:

Oksana, yes, Richard Chamberlain was also in Shogun. And, he came out as gay a couple of years ago after concealing it for many many years. I think they are or will re-run Shogun on Encore channel.

Interesting, in that adorable interview nkd and jlurks posted, Adam sort of confirms what Soundbath Queen fan interviewee said about Adam (and Freddie) being on a different plane while performing, in a sort of bubble.
Btw, was that Chinese or Japanese? I thought maybe it was for his Chinese weibo account – he seems to have a LOT of fans in mainland China!!!!
