September finds blond Adam back in the US after a busy August touring Japan and Australia. What’s in store for us this month? A third single announcement? Confirmation about Idol judges (is Adam one of them?!)? More speculation of a Queen+Adam tour or possibly an actual Trespassing tour? Will he add more shows in the coming months? Even Adam’s hairdresser does not know for sure. So while we wait, continue to chat away about anything and everything Adam related. Enjoy!

We had fun with the poncho that night!
The poncho, the hair, the WLL jeans, it was a good time, but now I see those pictures and I see sad Adam. Frown

    And so it begins …

Wonder if Nigel/Fox are already regretting their absurd astute decision making?

Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey Already At Each Other’s Throats

I feel that this is all HIGHLY exaggerated for drama purposes. In my opinion, American Idol is grasping at straws to compete with both X Factor and The Voice. I personally don’t feel that this Mariah/Nicki thing is going to do it. The majority of the viewing public will be able to see it for what it is. No

This is so scary about smart phones and what hackers/computer whizzes cam do with your pics posted online. Please take note esp those with small children and grandchildren.

Thank you so much for this information, cher! I happen to have loads of family pics on my iPhone that I want protected. I forwarded your message on to my family and close friends. It is a relatively easy fix. Thank you for ALWAYS taking care of us!!! Kiss Kiss Kiss

My secret admission…I have always loved the poncho!

Me too, luval. And the long hair was perfection in combination with the poncho. I have liked all of his looks except the Eek! shaving on the side of his head. And, because it was Adam, I can cut him some slack with that look.

    Hi dcglam!

Either that or, something I should have added, it is an accurate report but an act on their part because it’s expected of them.

Comes off as “fishy” to me. The first day of taping? Surely everyone wants to look good and is on their best behavior.

It doesn’t matter to me. I won’t be watching the show this year. If there’s an especially talented contestant, I can always watch him/her the next day on YouTube.

  7. dcglam says:

    Yup…. Love this, Ron!

  8. milwlovesadam says:

I’m burning out on talent and singing contests. I’m only casually skimming Voice and X Factor. Certainly not invested in any contestant since our guy exploded my TV.

Mariah vs. Nicki is all about ratings, and anybody stupid enough to think it’s real. It’s as real as Nicki’s hair, or Mariah’s boobs!

(Disclaimer, use of the word “stupid” is not intended to make anybody here feel bad).

  9. ultimathule says:

My TV watching is exiguous, but read the Weekend WashPost about new series/programs coming along to see if anything might be good. And this was the one that interested me – tonight “Revolution” – think 10pmEDT/NBC – the world loses electricity/power and what happens 15 years later. As a sci/fi reader from way back – love this stuff. Hope it’s good.

  10. ultimathule says:

I’d like to see the boy in a sci/fi pic – as an alien, of course.

  11. Ceddies says:

ulti, I just heard about “Revolution” this afternoon thru an XM radio commercial. I went online then and checked it out. Definitely seems to be one that I will watch. Or at least, give it a try. I have only one program that I watch regularly on network TV and that is “Castle” when it is in season. Otherwise, I don’t really watch TV except for an occasional something on NatGeo or those kinds of channels.

  12. Ron says:

Maybe in a remake, ulti, of the David Bowie movie, “The Man Who Fell To Earth”. Question

I saw it at the movies but that was 1976 and can’t begin to remember what it was about except that an alien comes to earth and … does something.

    Big Smile

  13. Ceddies says:

Ron, that is one of my all time favorite movies. I saw it back in the 70’s when it first came out. Bowie was perfect for that part.

ETA: Bowie was perfect because of the way they did the eyes of the alien who was Bowie and because of the coloration of Bowie’s eyes. Adam would also be perfect, well, because he is our Alien.

  14. ultimathule says:

Loved that movie, Ron – now have an urge to see it again. It was strangely moving.

  15. ultimathule says:

Wooh – maybe we can all critique Revolution and see if there was a character in it that the boy could have played. I do that sometimes in my thoughts.

  16. milwlovesadam says:

My 18 year old walked in the room while I was eating breakfast and reading the paper a few weeks ago,the TV was on, more just for background noise than anything else, maybe the Today Show was on for morning news, anywhoooo… there was a commercial for Revolution. We said that looked interesting. Then my son started laughing. He said ” how do all these characters get crossbows?” “Where do all the crossbows come from?” Does everybody in the future just have them laying around until some apocalyptic event occurs?”

We had a giggle over that. But, the show does interest my sci-fi heart as well. LOL. I just watched Galaxy Quest recently, which lampooned Star Wars and Star Trek quite well. Trek mostly, actually. Anyone else like that one?

  17. milwlovesadam says:

I’m still hoping for Glee or Smash for our boy.

  18. Ron says:

    Hi Ceddies!!

Adam would also be perfect, well, because he is our Alien.

That’s what made me think of the movie. Wink

Odd that I don’t remember the story line or at least have a scene or two come to mind.

Of course, they’d have to turn the remake into a musical!!

Just off the top of my head, I choose … oh, I guess … Queen to write the music.

    Big Smile

  19. ultimathule says:

One of the more haunting sci-fi novels for me is “The Left Hand of Darkness” by Ursula K. Le Guin. Much of it takes place on the planet of Winter where the populace is androgynous – taking on a sexual role only once a month – and male or female according to the partner. It was supposed to be a movie once, but got shelved. Have always thought Adam would be perfect in the role of Estraven of Winter.

  20. ultimathule says:

Once used that term about Adam – the boy who fell to earth – that’s how I reacted when I first saw him so many years ago now. And a remake of the movie? A musical? Well, why not – his voice is unearthly anyhow – lol.

  21. milwlovesadam says:

Isn’t Estraven the name of a hormone replacement therapy?

    LOLOLOL

  22. Ceddies says:

Just off the top of my head, I choose … oh, I guess … Queen to write the music.

LOL, Ron, our taste for apples don’t fall very far from the Adam tree do they? Adam or whatever he is involved in/or whomever he is involved with.

  23. milwlovesadam says:

Didn’t I read somewhere ( RS?? ) that it is being remade?

I saw it on MTV a few years ago. Very interesting. Very Bowie.

  24. Ceddies says:
  25. AL says:

My secret admission…I have always loved the poncho! And could Joan Rivers be any more un-original than to say he looked like Pocahontas.

I’ve always thought that his poncho outfit and look was suitable for the occasion. And although it is difficult to understand Joan at times, I thought she said that the poncho was a combination of “gay and Native American” = pokahotass Blush
(or maybe it’s my dirty mind playing tricks on me?!) Question Wink

  26. ultimathule says:

There was a remake, mils? Or is there going to be one?

  27. milwlovesadam says:

Wasn’t the remake for TV? I heard a new movie. But, I could be wrong. Often am.

  28. ultimathule says:

I dumped Netflix, but maybe I should get it again for these old movies.

  29. Ceddies says:

Wonder if The Voice was envious of all the press that Idol was getting with the change of judges and decided to make their own changes? Of course, the reasons these two gave were good enough reasons for them to move on.

  30. Ron says:

You have to hand it to “The Voice.” Last week, the show added a third Wednesday episode to ruin “The X Factor’s” big premiere night. And now, with the new “American Idol” and “X Factor” judges having had hardly any time to bask in their publicity, already “The Voice” is stealing both shows’ thunder once again–with breaking news that two new singularly named superstar judges, Shakira and Usher, will replace Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green for Season 4. Both Christina and Cee Lo will be back for Season 5 in fall 2013, according to NBC.

    http://ca.music.yahoo.com/blogs/reality-rocks/christina-aguilera-cee-lo-green-voice-hiatus-shaira-231943068.html

They’re leaving but they’ll be back? Confused

  31. Ceddies says:

Guess Christina and Cee-Lo just needed some time off. I can go along with the two replacements that they named. Not that I have watched The Voice more than once, but I like to keep up with what’s happening on the musical shows.

  32. AL says:

Seems like a remake was planned in 2009 according to this NY Times article.
    http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/05/19/required-viewing-the-man-who-fell-to-earth/

Synopsis: A handsome extraterrestrial crashes on earth looking for ways to save his scorched planet, but becomes addicted to booze, sex and television.

Bet that alien won’t be watching Idol in the remake! Wink

  33. milwlovesadam says:

Thanks AL for doing the research. I was just at Wiki looking up Bowie for fun. Wowza. Quite the life.

  34. milwlovesadam says:

Interesting. Bowie played an alien who crashed to Earth looking for water to save his planet.

Adam is called an alien by some. He sponsors Charity Water to save people.

    Coincidence??

    Muwhahahaha!!

  35. Ron says:

    Hi AL!!

Isn’t that ADAM’s jacket that Bowie is wearing?!

    http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/05/19/required-viewing-the-man-who-fell-to-earth/

    Smile

  36. luval says:

AL…I’ll have to re-watch FB again! Didn’t hear that. But I wondered why Adam & the others were howling. I didn’t think it was that funny.

mils…don’t like sci-fi at all but Galaxy Quest is one of my top 15 favorite movies. Just tripped upon it one day.

mj’s has a thread saying Blake Shelton isn’t happy at The Voice. Does not want back to back seasons like they’ve been doing.

Did anyone see SNL the other night? Seth MacFarland was fantastic! Pairing him with Adam would have been great. He’s a huge supporter of gay rights.

  37. Kradamour says:

I just watched Galaxy Quest recently, which lampooned Star Wars and Star Trek quite well. Trek mostly, actually. Anyone else like that one?

mils, I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE that movie! One of the few that I have watched more than once.

Ron, that is how I don’t remember almost ALL movies, unfortunately. All too often, I can’t even remember if I have seen a certain movie, even if I saw it a few months back. It is embarrassing. More than once, I have been talking about an older movie, and said that I would like to see it someday…and someone in the room will reveal that in fact I have already seen it, and in fact saw it with the person doing the revealing.
    Blush
And this has nothing to do with being 29, by the way. I did this even when I was 20…
    Dazed

  38. AL says:

    Hi Ron!
Adam would have to time travel for Bowie to wear his jacket! Clock Airplane
Or maybe Bowie was the one who time-traveled and saw Adam’s BTIKM video on Youtube! TV Alien Heh

  39. ultimathule says:

Well – like Shakira and Usher better than the other two. Just dl’d Usher’s new album – very nice. Have some older stuff of Shakira – now there’s a girl who can move.

  40. ultimathule says:

In the WashPost today – article by Lisa De Moraes – “New Idol judges Minaj and Urban trump the talent.” Like we didn’t already know.

  41. ultimathule says:

Well, Ron – must have seen the pearl clutcher version as don’t remember the full frontal – and, if I had, would think I’d remember as his wife/girlfriend said – and – hide your eyes, people – “he could put a hole in the wall.” (Hmmm – more than one characteristic in common, apparently.)

  42. milwlovesadam says:

Oh Kradamour, I come from a family of movie buffs. Often, our dinner and holiday conversation was about old movies.(And new movies ). My dear uncle, who passed away almost a year ago, was the ace. He knew every star, every movie. Every Oscar contest. Nobody could out-do him. He just loved Fay Wray, Jimmy Cagney, Jimmy Stewart, old westerns, old gangster movies, Bogart. And Lauren Bacall, he just adored her.

His favorite movie of all time of all time? A Place in the Sun. Montgomery Clift, Shelley Winters, and Elizabeth Taylor. Oh, how he loved Elizabeth Taylor. She was simply stunningly beautiful in that movie.

  43. ultimathule says:

So true, mils – that was Taylor’s finest hour – never more beautiful – the role fit her like a glove. And Clift and Winters were superb. A true classic – remains so.

  44. milwlovesadam says:

LOL ultimathule, I saw the full frontal version. Rather, um, impressive, especially since we didn’t see the full, erm , “effect.”

The recent cover story about him in RS waxed poetic about it.

    Plenty in common indeed.

    FWIW.

  45. milwlovesadam says:

My favorite local classic rock station celebrated Rosh Hashana today with ” Rock-a-Shana”, playing rock by Jewish artists.

I’m somewhere between tickled and offended. I’d love to see the playlist, didn’t have time to tune in today.

Billy Joel, David Lee Roth, Gene Simmons, Slash, Bob Dylan, Lenny Kravitz, Bette Midler, Streisand, gah, who else?

  46. TLKC says:

Well count me in on a remake of The Man Who Fell to Earth with Adam in it. Will Bowie do a cameo?

My favourite sci-fi movie is Liquid Sky, which is an 80’s film about an invisible alien who comes to earth and has sex with people. I went with a friend and afterwards we told each other how glad we were to have gone with each other, since anyone else would have avoided us for the rest of our lives.

It was bizarre, cool and hilarious at the same time. I think it would be right up Adam’s alley but I wouldn’t want to Adam to play the alien since it is invisible and it would be a waste of his gorgeousness, not to mention his talent.

My tenant just had a party to celebrate the 2,222nd day of her life and I have had two glasses of wine and I’m out of it but I did enjoy reading all the posts since I left this morning. You guys should be casting agents. Adam in everything. Suits me fine.

RE: The Voice – the judges aren’t happy about twice a year showings and the producers announced at their press conference in August that they would give them time off when they wanted it and they could come back as they desire.

Too bad Adam isn’t a Universal artist – now that would pull audience from Idol.

I just wish Adam Levine would take a break.

  47. nkd says:

    Translation of InRock interview.
    http://www.twitlonger.com/show/jb05te

He removed the shorts, tights and boots that he had been wearing. Clad only in the long top and dark grey (cotton-looking) underwear, with a pondering look at this face, he asked, “should we take a photo the way I am right now?” “Nah, it’s a little too sexy don’t you think?”, he smiled bitterly, and put on the pair of shorts again.

    Oh GAWD!!!!!! Grin

  48. TLKC says:

Nkd I love that photo showing the loose threads on Adam’s sleeves. It looks as though he’s having a real moment with the woman in the pic and she is very striking. Does anyone know who she is?

  49. Kradamour says:

Okay, here is the test to establish your movie credentials: “Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death”. Name one of the female stars (no googling!)
    Wink

  50. TLKC says:

LOL Nkd I know – it’s like a fan fic!!!!

ETA: didn’t notice that Nkd posted the link ot the whole thing. Will just highlight the best bits:

Adam appeared, with his greyish-blond hair and solid physique. Under those clothes, he looked invitingly muscular; I got the sense that he had been working out…..Combined with his chiseled features, he looked like a Grecian sculpture. However, when our eyes met, the sculpture-like face softened as if blood had passed through it, and a smile spread across his face…. Posing clad only that top, it was as if Adam was wearing a mini one-piece with bare legs, looking somewhat coquettish…

We switched to an interview room. A post-photo shoot Adam was in high spirits. But there was one more reason for his good mood: “Sauli is arriving tonight.”

I asked her to post Part 3 a.s.a.p. LOLS!
