Brian and Roger are performing just for the pleasure of performing as many other older acts do. I hope for 2013 World Tour. Maybe their last.
Idol reached its pinnacle in Season 8 with Adam. He was by far the best singer and performer ever to appear on Idol. He showed how it could and should be done. Then came the disillusionment at the end of the season that winning really wasn’t about talent but about certain groups’ moral and political agendas. After that Idol really was broken. The contestants have been boring, and since Simon left, the judging has been worthless. Idol has run its course. I doubt this new judging panel will be able to revive it.

Oksana, you might be right concerning selling pop music today and radio play, but I sincerely believe that Adam’s versatility is what will give him a very long and successful career in the entertainment industry.

I am clapping my hands for you right now…I haven’t gone over there today…I knew what it would be like. I was banned ages ago. I don’t know how long the ban is, but I didn’t want to post there anymore anyways…
She isn’t talking about real life. Most Idol watchers haven’t seen Adam at whole foods. She is talking about him on stage where he performs and has been known on occasion to give a show and to be…yes…..flamboyant…..and I for one, love it. I understand what Lyndsey is talking about, though. With 2 divas on the panel, where people would be watching every week to see what they are wearing and what they are saying, someone else who would be an attention magnet would detract even more from the contestants. Randy is a known entity who people try and ignore, and Keith is laid back and will be a restful island of quiet between the divas.
Of course this is not to say that I don’t think that Adam would have made a better judge than the four of them put together. He would have.
With that it is off to bed for me. It is very late here.

Re the Slezak article comments: I just read them all, and about 25 to 30 percent commented on wanting Adam, some wanting Adam or another Idol alumni. Overall, pretty civilized discourse there.

Really like the choices, too. That sassy chick that got #2 for energy…lots of attitude, she was def one of my favorites.

Re McEwans and radio program…I hadn’t made that connection. Shouldn’t have disqualified them, though and I am glad that it didn’t.

Back from my weekend away and so happy to see that everyone is doing well and quickly getting beyond the stupidity that is TV and AI. I am still not giving up on the idea of Idol having some type of role for Adam but know I am living in denial.
Love the vids but can’t see the one posted for 1st place (best overall). Hope the brothers won as riskylady said. Gave a big fat sigh of relief when Adam tweeted that he and Sauli spent the past two days together. It was weird that neither of them tweeted their whereabouts. Guess they were too immersed in judging to do much tweeting.
I am loving the idea of Adam getting to tour with Queen sooner rather than later. Shoshanna mentioned on twitter today that there was more exciting news coming soon.
I think some or most of us can relate to this.

eywflyer, I am glad you felt free to post your thoughts. Please don’t feel like you have to apologize for sharing your viewpoint. My goodness if it weren’t for you none of us would have a blog to post any viewpoints what so ever.
I try not to worry about Adam. After all he is living a life that pretty much encapsulates every thing he dreamed of and more. How many of us can say that? That he has been able to do this without giving up his soul or leaving behind what is essential to his “Adamness” is pretty miraculous.
I believe there are enough of us here and abroad to keep Adam busy and successful. His fans have his back and that’s no small thing.
Loved seeing the vids from all ages and ethnic backgrounds.
So…I have a desk full of work that is due yesterday, and just spent all day planting the side yard in perennials, and am EXHAUSTED but when Adam says jump, I say “how high?” so I just watched all the winning vids.
And the silly thing? I was so glad that we (the fandom, and even though I didn’t make a vid I feel that we are all a part of this even if we only cheered from the sidelines and “liked” and retweeted) were able to give Adam this gift.
Every one of them was so natural and sweet, and gave some insight into the person(s) who made it. I am so proud of our boy for seeing that and choosing these vids from among so many others.
I haven’t really weighed in on the Idol thing – I don’t have a dog in that fight, as we say down here, I never watched Idol and don’t watch TV at all, actually – but this just proves to the world that Adam has what it takes to see into the heart of competitors and judge wisely and well.
Take that, Idol!
(And I wonder if Adam didn’t time the judging of this Trespassing competition for just that reason, and to give us a toy to play with to distract us if we were unhappy about the Idol judging choices. He is def smarter than the average bear and it would not surprise me if this were true.)
There seems to be some confusion about best overall, some links have the McEwan Bros, and some have the girl with a mask(which I honestly can’t see as best overall) I liked the second place one too, in the overall category.
