Happy Rosh Hashana rs. I think of you every day when I look at my keychain and I cherish its’ message. I’d like to think that Adam’s experiences with this holiday as a child will make this a happy day for him as he starts out on the next stage of his adventure.
Maybe that South African tour will have a few detours. If it does, you will need to learn how to use a video camera rs!

This is the only time I’ll say anything regarding Adam not getting Idol, and I know this won’t be a popular opinion here, but I feel that this puts the nail in the coffin of the Trespassing era. Just don’t see how the album will continue to be viable with no significant radio airplay, no apparent label support or promo for Trespassing the single (which may in fact be a single in name only), and only a handful of scattered concert dates on the calendar. Things like the PLL appearance just don’t get on the public’s radar screen to anywhere near the level that twice weekly AI screen time would have.
I posted here a few months back, after it became clear that NCOE was not to be successful as a single in the US, that folks would be well advised to see Adam in concert this summer or fall at whatever dates they could make it to, as a full Trespassing tour was not at all a given. I now think that a Trespassimg tour is looking quite unlikely

Eywflyer, your opinion is as valid as anyone else’s here and I respect it. I agree about the PLL show and IMO will have little to no effect on Trespassing. I kinda don’t understand Trespassing as a single. When or if it will go to radio add’s. Is the Dallas station playing it just a test? Yes, I know it’s in connection with his gig there. I’m positive my radio station won’t play it. But funny I have VH1 top 20 countdown on right now and know almost NONE of the songs. Have never heard them on the radio (I listen to top 40 all the time). Radio as we’ve all discussed many times here is a whole new ball game. An artist’s success is not dependent on radio play in many cases.
I think that IF there is a Trespassing tour next year, it will be sold out just like Glam nation as long as the venues are correct. People I talk to at work who would never buy a cd ask me when & if Adam is touring. Adam & Queen touring a bit will bring attention to Trespassing. Again doesn’t mean they will buy the album but will want to see him live. IMO & I’ve stated this a bazillon times…illegal downloading has ruined the record industry and the popularity of a singer is very hard to judge because of this. Adam is a live artist and people will go to see him.
Adam not getting Idol may be a blessing in disguise. Why go down with a sinking ship? And yes, too many singing shows out there although Idol is still my favorite. And if Idol is still successful, good for them to beat the odds. Adam may guest.
I just can’t wait to see what happens next with the man! Am still positive he’s not telling us everything. Am glad I got to see him in WB and FS. Still hoping for Phoenix but have to wait a bit for my plans to get finalized.

One more thought I just had. Maybe we can’t look at an album anymore as anything but “what the singer is doing right now”. As they continue in their careers, their body of work will add up and this is what we’ll see in their live shows…older, newer…covers sprinkled in. Fine with me. I just want it to continue!!

Adam has always said that the strategy was not to tour this year. He also said that the label is committed to one or two more singles through 2102/2013 (after NCOE). He responded to tweets from me and other fans re: Trespassing video – it will not be made up of our videos. It will be properly shot.
I could be wrong but it looks to me as though Trespassing will get a decent intro. The delay makes sense in terms of Fall TV and condensing Adam’s exposures into a short period around PLL appearance in late October. Most talk shows have a rule: only one appearance per season. Ellen is having him on and I’m sure a few more will.
I know we all had our hopes up for Adam on Idol and it’s a bit of a sad weekend but there is evidence that Adam can make money for his management company – the OZ and SA appearances will be highly remunerative and Queenbert will happen on some level I think.
Don’t worry, be happy.

Right now, I see pop music as a sort of a flood of random music, random promotion, that rushes by. Various heads pop up and go under at a quick pace as currents change erratically. It is not a good time to be a new artist.
Having said that, Trespassing has been embraced/acclaimed by the peeps who supposedly know the industry, or at least know music. It will be forever a significant part of Adam’s body of work, as will his collaboration with Queen. I also agree that if Adam tours, his venues will sell out, as long as they are judiciously chosen. Just like our multiple album purchases, we attend multiple concerts and this time we have the fan infrastructure to attend even more together (head spinning here…!).
And as we have said, Adam will never have to worry about his financial future. Anyone who saw people gravitate to him the minute he walked into the Blond’s show should be reassured by that.
eywflyer, please don’t ever hesitate to put your views out there, especially on your own site! We know that you are an Adam fan, want the best for him, and that you consider your posts carefully and present a well-grounded analysis.

Re the tour happening or not…the wild card here is Adam himself. It is much more important to him than to many other artists to interact with his fans in a very personal way. With the confidence that we will sell out his venues, he may decide to at least partially bankroll them himself, as I understand that he did for glamnation. That could tip the scales for RCA.
Still, I totally agree that we need to go to as many of the performances this year as we can, not only to see Adam (
I also think that a small or no Trespassing tour could result in a more significant concert series with Queen, who obviously loved working with Adam but respect his need to be known for his own music and career.
Regardless, Adam isn’t going to fall off the edge of his infinity pool anytime soon, IMHO.

Hopefully the Idol people didn’t string Adam along until the last few days. Ha, I’m sure he’s way better at handling his rejection than I am. F*ng Idol! I’d like to see Adam putting energy into overseas shows, Queen, and a Trespassing tour in small venues like for Glamnation. Keeping his eyes on the prize.
Adam on idol? Really dindnt care one way or the other. However, I do believe that Idol has made a huge mistake in the chosen panel. I think they’ll get decent numbers the first episode or two out of
idolidle curiosity. After that, I see nothing but an expensive train wreck. Money doesn’t buy the type of talent required to judge. There’s a small part of me that wants to believe that, in the end, maybe Adam got tired of the BS and bowed out on his own. I think the show’s best days are long gone (season 8 and our boy broke it).As I’ve said before, I’m not worried about Adam. He’ll be just fine
I always feel sad when I think Adam has been slighted or overlooked. I’m feeling that today but trying to look on the bright side. I think Idol’s popularity is definitely waning and Adam would have been blamed if the numbers continue to decline. So maybe this is a good thing?? Also, I don’t know how this panel is going to “fly” with the current viewers. Can’t see pearl-clutching, church-goin’ grandmas in Mississippi liking Nikki. Perhaps the plan is that they lose the current conservative viewers and pick up the young urban demographic. Anyway, I think we need to keep above the fray and “take the high road.” Don’t post any thing negative on any blogs or news sites. Just continue to support “our boy” in whatever he decides to do next. (Hoping for a US tour w/Queen!!)
On another note, I watched SNL last night and saw all the support that Frank Ocean is getting from TV even had John Mayer playing with him on his last number. Makes me jealous.
Can’t help but think Adam is part of the reason for this. I truly believe he has opened some eyes and minds. He may still be struggling with acceptance but he seems to have helped pave the way for the future. IMHO

Eywflyer, I actually agree with your comments. I was kinda hoping for Idol in some capacity for Adam, but not getting my hopes up so far that I would feel bad today, and I don’t.
I don’t think Trespassing era is over. I think the timing of the new single and video will make him eligible for certain types of awards next year.
He is a celebrity. He is news all the time. Hey, he’s even big enough that the press gave him a false death story. That means he’s a household name.
I do think he’ll tour, worldwide. These one-offs in far-off places and their ticket sales show that he is wanted around the world. In the right venues, he’ll have a very successful tour, and it may be for a whole year this time.
At this point, I don’t really care if there are certain hard-core fans who act as groupies and see tons of shows, to me, they are fans buying tickets, keeping him in the business. Artists make their money touring and selling merchandise anyway.
If Adam can make money and keep his name in the news by modeling, guesting on shows, to me it’s all good.
Now, Queen would just be icing on the cake. I’m sure Adam made a mint from those shows. I’m sure Roger and Brian were generous with their hugely popular and successful new frontman. They just adore him. It shows.
I’m off to an art festival ( Wine and Harvest Festival, winery, apples, hundreds of artists, fun to stroll and people watch, sit and listen to music, I’ll be avoiding the huge caramel apples and kettle corn this year, dangit. )

Right now I want to take a minute to say “thank you” personally to Jlurksacto for his unwavering,steadfast positive outlook over the past few weeks regarding Adam becoming a judge on Idol. It was so uplifting for me who would normally anguish on an hourly basis with any negative news. But, no, Jlurksacto kept holding strong and in so doing bolstered my outlook to a more postive one. He saved me from weeks of torture lamenting over every tidbit released. While it turned out not be true(and it could be for many reasons such as Adam himself bowed out)I am left with only feeling badly right at this moment instead of daily during the past month(s). This may all sound strange but that’s what happened for me.
Of course, it goes without saying that Idol has messed up big time. Adam would have brought so much to the judging table with his fashionable and good looks, charisma, and articulateness as well as his extensive knowledge of music and show business while gaining his own needed exposure. Thanks, Jlurks; good man!!!

Well, I was resigned quite awhile ago about Adam not getting Idol. To me it was too good to be true. So I don’t feel down at all and came to terms with it a long time ago. But in the back of my mind I always hoped I’d be wrong. And dang, nkd, was hoping too that there would be a surprise just to shut you know who up!

Well, a little smidgeon of good news:
In my tracking on the iTunes Pop Top 200, in the past week up to today, Trespassing Deluxe has gone from 151, to 126, to 115, to 108 today.
I have to believe this is “word-of-mouth” purchasing. Also, Adam’s videos – especially the ones that are JUST audio versions of Trespassing songs (go figure) are increasing views substantially. There is one that has the whole album, which now has over 334k “views” and one of Runnin’ that has over 500k.

Official videos on Vevo are gaining substantially. Could relate to those that listen to music on YouTube as we learned from a recent article, and some could be downloading/converting from there too. I have also seen comments telling people that sound from original CDs is even better.
Since RCA doesn’t release sales numbers (I think the last number we saw was around mid-June, 148,000) who knows what today’s number is for the album, or for any of the tracks, but I do think there is a steady trickle, at least evident on iTunes for the album.
Again, NOT WORRIED about Adam. He will perform and make money, and I’m almost certain there will be a Queen mini-tour at some point. They’re probably working on it as we speak, and those folks can keep a secret, as we’ve seen. Has to be soon – Brian and Roger aren’t getting any younger and don’t need the money, so they’ll want to do something sooner than later IMHO.
In many many comments on the Queen videos, and even Queen fans commenting now on Adam’s own videos, he’s being recognized as one of the greatest singers right now. He will be in demand, and is getting to be more of a household name by the day worldwide.

Why should I be disappointed that Adam is not on the judges panel? It was more wishful thinking than actually believing that it would happen.
Adam’s name was used just to make some buzz. He was used by the TPTB, by media, by Internet sites that needed hits.I can live with that.
I can’t predict how New&Improved Idol under New Managment will do.(We have seen this sign on many places, right?) It might do well, it might flop after initial excitement is over. At least I know one thing , if it fails IT WON”T BE BLAMED ON ADAM. I got tired reading how Sonisphere festival was cancelled because of AL. I don’t need to read how terrible judge he is, how awful he looks, and how his career is over.
Does anyone really believe that Idol judges are doing the shtick because they want to help the contestants?? It’s for all MONEY and exposure.And I’m not saying that Adam would do it just out of goodness of his heart.

rs, I think that Adam was the last truly talented contestant on AI.Scotty is painfully one dimensional and I don’t want to say what I think about P2 talents.He lucked out with his coronation single, but judging from his Idol preformances he will flop with his album. In January.
To tell the truth, I’m not that disappointed that Adam isn’t going to be an Idol judge. Yes, it would have been an honor of sorts to have been chosen, he would have been a fabulous judge, and I would have watched Idol again every week just to see him. But.. I’m not sure that it would have brought in any more fans for his music than a couple of guest performances and mentoring stints would bring, and it would unleash the haters. Idol is dying and he doesn’t need to be part of that process.
I think that Adam’s best opportunity for increasing his fan base and gaining credibility for his amazing talents is touring with Queen and then following that up with a Trespassing tour. The sooner he does that the better, and judging for Idol would have delayed that for at least 6 months. So Brian and Roger, Adam is available in the spring, please get moving on scheduling that Queenbert tour.
Oksana, I agree. If they ever went back to the old format of having the contestants sing in a different genre every week it would be painfully obvious.

rs,I shouldn’t say this but versatility might be a reason for Adam’s selling problems. Everyone wants different Adam. One group wants Rock Adam, another wants Pop Adam, another Broadway Tunes Adam and another Whatever but not That What You Sing Right Now Adam.
