It’s time for our September chat thread. Hopefully this will be the final relatively quiet month before Adam’s new single is released. As always, please keep the posting guidelines in mind, and welcome any newcomers. Enjoy!

    OMG Oksana I love it!!!

Yes, it was nekkid that brought us the wonderful shiny new toy LOL

  2. dcglam says:

JOJOSIE…. What an immense loss for the boy’s family and friends — I can almost feel their pain. Hopefully, this tragic incident will open the eyes of lawmakers all over the country.

  3. dcglam says:

Yikes…. My screen name rap name is Faith Nasty. My real name rap name is Dirty Kat!!! Sheesh…. Can they possibly get any worse?!?! I was afraid to go any further after that news. Shock
Obviously, I wasn’t made out to be a rap star!! LOL

  4. luval says:

So Pullaup…last U.S. GN show (not counting Hawaii and L.A.). Don’t really have anything in my liner notes but I do remember everyone wondering whether he’d change it up. Nope! Same wonderful GN show. Mr Professional at it again.

  5. Oksana2000 says:

Someone with Twitter account should send Adam tweet with link to RSNG and his new rap name. I’m pretty sure that he will have a good laugh.. Smile

  6. luval says:

Just listened to Rico Love again. I’m going out on a limb and saying that “Ain’t Over You” will be a song on Adam’s album. Rico sings those words at the very beginning of the video.

My brother had no idea what Rico said so I had to explain. Smile

  7. Ceddies says:

Just listened to Rico Love again.

Hi Luval! Can you post a link to this again. I couldn’t get it to play for me a day or so ago, and now I can’t find the link to try again. Thanks.

  8. dcglam says:

Speaking of Rico, do y’all like my new avi????
It’s from the pic that was taken of Adam and Rico. Wink

  9. luval says:

    Hi Ceddies!! here ya go…

  10. luval says:

Great Avi, Faith Nasty…I mean dcglam. Smile

  11. asifclueless says:

dcglam..or Dirty Kat, love your new avi. Grin

  12. dcglam says:

LOL…. Thank you luval and asif. You’re funny!! Smile

  13. nkd says:

So I tweeted Flava Bone and informed him of his new name! I wonder if he’ll see it! Wink

Love your new avi Ms Nasty!

Ya know luval, I was wondering the same thing, when Rico started the vid singing. Is that the song?

  14. luval says:

nkd…If it wasn’t the title, I think it was one line or chorus. It was like he was imitating Adam singing and then making his comments. But even if it was the song they were working with, I guess it doesn’t mean it will be on the Album. But I’m sticking to my prediction!!!

  15. turquoisewaters says:

Jojosie’s story is a stark reminder how much hate and ignorance is still around. So sad. Declaring this “not a hate crime” is just an additional slap in the face. Shame on those responsible and everybody enabling them with their indifference.

  16. Kradamour says:

My screen name rap name is Faith Nasty. My real name rap name is Dirty Kat!!! Sheesh…. Can they possibly get any worse betterer?!?!

    LOL

Love them both, Ms. Nasty Dirty Kat! Smile

  17. Kradamour says:

Shame on those responsible and everybody enabling them with their indifference.

And the saddest is the parents’ denial in what is probably a well-intentioned (in their eyes) but misguided effort to “clean up” the event and their son’s memory. Without their screams for justice, the police and the prosecutors have no reason to go the extra mile (and it is a rough mile, in my experience) and prosecute a hate crime. Frown
How can you not want justice for your child? That is only a rhetorical question. I know that there is no answer.

  18. dcglam says:

Why thank you kindly, Ms Virgo and hip-hop sisters!! Wink

ETA: Off to watch the X Factor…..

  19. luval says:

Am watching, but I’m actually a little bored with X-Factor so far.

  20. dcglam says:

Best part so far is the Adam commercial for Majors and Minors!

  21. luval says:

    haha dcglam…I missed the commercial.

  22. nkd says:

    I didn’t see a Majors & Minors commercial.
But I am also kind of bored. Where’s Adam?
The guy in the tight jeans, heels, mesh shirt and hair was interesting!

  23. apal123 says:

My daughter just told me that a 14 year old who participated in the It Gets Better campaign committed suicide today and that Adam tweeted about it. I don’t have twitter. This would would be so awful. My daughter sad that the parents attributted it to bullying. Anyone have any further info on this?

  24. luval says:

apal123…This was on NBC nightly news. Maybe I can find a video.

  25. nkd says:

apal123, I don’t see any tweets from Adam about that. If it is true, that is very sad.

  26. adamized says:

Here is a link to the story. http://digitallife.today.com/_news/2011/09/21/7879728-teen-contributor-to-it-gets-better-project-takes-his-own-life?GT1=43001

My heart hurts. First the story about M and now this. What a waste.

  29. apal123 says:

Thanks for your help. I just have such a heavy heart thinking what despair this boy must have felt. You think that attitudes are changing but I’m sad that parents must still be teaching their children it’s ok to hate.

  30. nkd says:

Thank you adamized for the link.

  31. Kradamour says:

Unavoidable to compare the parents of M and the parents of this young man who took his own life. But even their support wasn’t enough.

  32. adamized says:

Good night friends. Thank you for being such kind souls with such big hearts.

  33. nkd says:

  37. nkd says:

This is an interview with Evan Bogart about Majors & Minors.
    http://www.twitlonger.com/show/d7nbgs

I’m not sure that it was supposed to be out yet, but Adam fans grab it and go with it!

  38. nkd says:

Oh Kradamour, it’s just fun! Maybe it came from here, or maybe everyone decided they needed a hip-hop name too and found it themselves!?!! Smile

  39. Ceddies says:

Luval, thanks for posting that link again for me. It still wouldn’t play for me, so I did a virus scan then turned my computer back on earlier this evening. Just now got to watch it. He definitely was much impressed by Adam.

Regarding the story about “M”, when did this happen? I’m thinking I saw it (maybe on Facebook) a month or so ago. Whenever it happened, it’s a terrible thing.

Oh, and on a different note…(using my real name) my RapStar name is Jade Jackson, and my RockStar name is Jade Jett. Neat.

  40. dcglam says:

Lovely comments from Evan Bogart in that Majors and Minors interview!

    I didn’t see a Majors & Minors commercial.

nkd, it was the first large commercial break of the show — around 8:20 (my time) and 7:20 (your time, I believe). About the show…. I like L.A. Reid as a judge.
I think he’ll be a good addition to the panel.

  41. Ceddies says:

dcglam, I gotta tell you this about your new avi…(ducking here)when I first looked at it, I thought it was Neil Shock. Only when someone pointed out that it was Adam, did I realize that I was wrong. I didn’t see the original picture; so maybe if I had, I would have automatically seen Adam there. Yes, I like it!

  42. Kradamour says:

ceddies, I laughed when I saw your post! I def see how you could have seen Neil in that pic…but as amazing as it sometimes seems, they do share a lot of genetic material!

  43. dcglam says:

    Haha, Ceddies….
It’s all in the family and it’s all good. Wink Actually, I’m not sure how long I’m going to keep it because it didn’t come out as clearly as I would have liked. The hair blends in too much with the dark background.
You’re right, though — it does look a bit like Neil!

  44. JOJOSIE says:

Ceddies, yes it did happen a few weeks ago, the end of August. I just hadn’t felt like sharing it till now, as some of the information was just being made public. I don’t think it was mentioned on this site that the one contestant on PR that tweeted Adam and mentioned he had known Adam previously is a good friend of Adam’s old boyfriend Drake and had met Adam during the period that Drake and Adam dated. They are both into design and both are from Baton Rouge/New Orleans area. I was not a fan of Drakes but did follow him on twitter but he rarely tweets. He’s worse than me at it. Neil was tweating with Allison tonight. She seems to have stayed in contact with Sasha also. Seems like many Glamnation friendships have lasted with the crew as well as the fans.

  45. cwm says:

The Puyallup show! I was there! It was my third and final (Frown ) GNT show. A lot of our peeps were there — I sat with AL and smeggs, and goatiegarden and starhart were several rows in front of us, and madnessinmotion was a few rows behind us. We had a blast. AL, smeggs, my daughter, and I had seats about 11 rows back, right center. I had met everyone else at my previous GNT shows, but this was my first time meeting AL.

AL— it was a great pleasure meeting you and enjoying the show with you!!

    A few memories:
    — Flava Bone’s hair was incredibly high and sparkly, and when he whipped his head around, you could see the glitter flying off into the air

    — it was a beautiful fall evening, a little chilly, and Flava kept on his Strut jacket through to the end

    — the rows of seats were so close together, that you couldn’t stand up straight at your seat without bending your knees, because you were trapped between your own seat and the seat in front of you. So we couldn’t really dance, all we could do was bounce.

    — there was a woman sitting about 2 rows in front of my daughter and me, who had a very puffy furry feathery jacket and a huge hat on. She had caught the drumstick that Alison’s drummer threw out at the end of their set. So for Flava’s entire set, this woman was standing holding that stupid drumstick up in the air with her furry, fuzzy, feathery extra big arm blocking our view of the stage. And every photo that my daughter took has some portion of this woman’s furry arm sticking into it.

    — Puyallup is a 4.5 hour drive from where we live. The concert was on a school night. So my 11th grade daughter had to miss the last two periods of school in order for us to leave early enough to get to the show on time. I remember wondering aloud here whether it made me a good mom to be responsible and NOT take my 11th grader out of AP French and AP Calculus in order to attend a concert 4.5 hours away on a school night, or whether it made me a good mom to take her out of school to attend a concert 4.5 hours away on a school night and create a great and lasting memory. I opted for the latter Smile with encouragement from some of you, as I recall. When I excused her absence from school, I said it was due to “a family matter.” LOL We got to the concert with 30 minutes to spare. After the show, AL, smeggs, goatie, madness, and I visited for quite a while; everyone was reluctant to say goodbye and go home. I then drove straight home, while my daughter slept, and we arrived back home at 5:30am. That day, she went to school and I went to work, and we were both exhausted and still covered with glitter. But very happy! Smile

cwm I remember your sharing your dilema with us and the great experience you ended up having with your daughter. I’m sure she will be retelling the story of your trip with her children long after her memory of those classes has faded.

It must be destiny that Flava Bone and Fatal Dog are a couple. What a hoot! So many images that particular mating evokes.

Thanks for the picture jlurksacto. Sauli really is a lovely fellow.

nkd, funny I tried accessing that article right before I went to bed. Was able to do so this morning. Yes, Glamberts always find a way.

  48. adamized says:

Here’s a very fun little fan vid I found over at 24/7 this morning. I love it since it is a bit “tongue in cheek”. Especially love the very last shot of Adam’s sexy face turning to sweet face…

  49. cocoglam says:

My daughter and I also were at Puyallup. We flew up to Seattle, and went with our cousins. Had the best time. Should be embarrassed when I think of all the glitter, leather and sparkles we had on!! And of course, black boots! We all got dressed together like we were going to a sorority party. Met alot of other Glamberts before the concert in the wine tasting area, maybe some of you!! Can’t believe that was a year ago. Hope we get to have those special experiences again soon. Everyone start saving!

  50. Kradamour says:

This from the interview upthread with the Majors and Minors guy, about what Adam wanted to contribute:

Even when you’re not the person singing, what you’re doing, how you’re interacting with other people on stage, how you’re being a part of it when you’re not the center of attention. And then when you are the center of attention, how you grab that, run with it, and then pass it off. Because a lot of the performances are done as an ensemble.

That is what I remember most about Adam during group performances and especially on the AI tour finale. He was never just “there”, waiting for his turn. He was always actively involved in whatever was going on onstage, and when his part was over, he almost visibly “passed” to the next performer. It is one of the things that I loved most in the beginning, how he was such a great team player. Smile

cwm, I remember your angst over which course of action made you the better/worse mother, to take your daughter or to keep her in school…I was one of the “take her and go!” advocates, and I am so glad that you still think that was the right thing to do. I loved your reminder of the glitter flying off his hair in the evening light.

It must be destiny that Flava Bone and Fatal Dog are a couple. What a hoot! So many images that particular mating evokes.

Interesting choice of verb, adamizedRolls Eyes

Loved the little fan vid! Don’t usually like to see Adam to the music of someone else, but this one needed to be done! Smile
