It’s time for our September chat thread. Hopefully this will be the final relatively quiet month before Adam’s new single is released. As always, please keep the posting guidelines in mind, and welcome any newcomers. Enjoy!

That is not going to happen. Performing is Adam’s one and only real true love as far as I can see.
Ha — other than Sauli, of course….. Wink

This was one of the best audiences (up there with Concord NH IIRC) for achieving almost total silence during the end of Soaked.

I was there! with fwachdr, that is where we met – so much fun! and that is also the concert where Adam came out and there were no barricades between him and the very small crowd that waited for him. Symbolically, I loved that, and he seemed to also. We were told that he wasn’t going to come out, that was not his bus…right, Mr. Security Man, that is why this door has security peeps with walkie talkies here…so we stayed and made a respectful circle and were well behaved. Security finally admitted that yes he would be coming out, and would sign, BUT if we “bum rushed him” they would scoop him up and shove him onto the bus immediately. Bum rush, indeed. Hmph. Not us.

Yes, we were silent during soaked, because it was a very Junior League crowd, many of them very self-conscious in their designer glam, carefully chosen by a personal shopper lol…but remember that the next night was the concert at Tabernacle, just down the street – so the audience self-selected their venue and two more different audiences you can’t imagine! Plus Tabernacle was GA.
I went to Atlanta when I realized that two concerts could be had for one travel ticket and it was only an easy day’s drive. Noskerdycat stayed in our hotel and fwachdr and I sat up late into the night chatting in the lobby, the desk clerk got involved, too and it was such a good time.

Apparently Adam had been to Hotlanta a few months before and loved it. Very active gay scene. Perhaps that is why two concerts in one city.

But the thought of never being able to see him in concert again is devastating.

Ain’t happening. Anyone who saw him in Ste Agathe will tell you that our boy loves the stage, loves his audience, loves to perform, loves to be loved. He’ll be on a stage forever. The question is, what kind of stage and where? But he thrives on that live interaction, he won’t be satisfied with screen performances.

On the other hand, he is def a businessman and has said numerous times that he would be open to endorsements, etc. as well as stage or screen acting.
And he is very open about the brands that he uses: OPI nail polish, Durex condoms, etc. and I think it is curious that mfrs don’t pick up on that.

  3. nkd says:

I don’t know if I really want to see him endorse condoms! Even though…! Wink

From mj’s thread for the Symphony Hall Atlanta concert. Worth posting again, IMO.

Here’s an incredible photo, but tread carefully, it comes with an “R” rating! Perhaps this was the playful and happy Adam…mentioned above!

And for those who like their Adam R-rated, here is front row Strut:

  5. Kradamour says:

Good point, nkd! But I don’t think you and I would be the target audience. Just sayin’. Smile

  6. jlurksacto says:

I really want to see him endorse condoms!

    Usage demos?

  7. luval says:

mmmmmmm. love me some R-rated Strut Smile

  8. adamized says:

Evening peeps! I don’t think we have to fear not seeing Adam perform live for us again. I can easily see him in broadway shows and even having a permenant gig in Las Vegas once he is older and tired of touring. I remember some interview where the reporter was poking mild fun at Celine Dion for being in Las Vegas and Adam said that it was a really good gig if you could get it.

I also remember Adam saying that he felt that his fan base gave him the confidence to know he could make a living doing the thing that he loves most. (or something to that effect).

Haha jlurksacto! I wasn’t going to go there! Wink

  10. nkd says:

I like some R-rated Strut, too! I had never noticed the holes in his pants legs before. That was some upclose video!

  11. ultimathule says:

I love Adam for his youth and beauty as well as his voice – it would be hard for me to see him lose the former gifts and end up singing his old hits on a Las Vegas stage. (Well, that’s unlikely to happen anyway as I’d most likely be long gone.) But, if it makes Adam happy – that’s all that really matters, I guess. I can only speak for myself.

    (Nods in agreement)
Adam has been very forthright about the fact that he sees his career as a business as much as a creative endeavor. He has often spoken of financial security as a major goal. He also is very family-oriented, and as much as he loves his live audience, touring is rough on personal connections (as he has also pointed out numerous times, and even said that he could not enter into a serious relationship during the tour, it would be unfair to his partner).

I don’t think that Adam is driven to continually create artistically in the way that many artists are driven. He doesn’t like to be stale; he likes to mix it up, he likes to surprise. But life balance seems to be more important.
Vegas would balance all of Adam’s needs/goals: financial, creative, relationship.

But first he needs the successful career that would make him desirable as a Vegas act, so we have plenty of time to enjoy the youth and beauty before he takes up his Vegas gig!

  13. nkd says:

But first he needs the successful career that would make him desirable as a Vegas act, so we have plenty of time to enjoy the youth and beauty before he takes up his Vegas gig!

So…we have a little time to save for our retirement digs in Vegas?!! Wink

I agree that he needs his audience. But I’m not going to even try to speculate on the paths this young career will take. Let’s hope more people can see him for the amazing talent that he is, and that he soars!

  14. Calgary says:

If the rock thing doesn’t work for Adam he can always do Broadway or opera — heck, Jackie Evancho has sold 1.3 million albums!

And – Thanks to Ron or whoever led me back to Laura Nyro – she’s now on my ipod!

From your mouth to God’s ears nkd as my Grandmother would say.

Off to work. Have a good day everyone.

Mils, I just finished reading thread on HomePlanet about Adam teaching kids stage presence (on Minors and Majors)
I’m still lauging hard. The gifs are priceless and and comments (inculding yours) are not far behind… Grin

  17. floridagirl says:

Oksana, you sparked my interest with the Home Planet so I just went over there to view the comments. They are hysterical. I was giggling so hard and trying to be quiet since my husband is in the other room. Loved the gifs. What terrific GNT memories! Boy, those days were good times! Not sure if we’ll ever get that again from him… Smile

Mils, loved your comment! So funny!

this post has become a spontaneous meeting of Chair Sliders Anonymous – circle of chairs all empty and a puddle of drooling eggplant worshippers in the middle. Well done, Adam – now THAT is stage presence!

Have a great day, peeps! Smile

  19. Oksana2000 says:

floridagirl, I haven’t laugh so hard in a long time. I love Home Planet, it’s one of the funniest sites on the Internet. Did you read their recaps of American Idol season 10? I swear that my next door neighbours must have heard me laughing, it was so hysterical… Grin

  20. asifclueless says:

    nkd says:

Haha jlurksacto! I wasn’t going to go there!

I’ll go there. But I promiss it’s family friendly (Adam’s words before the GNT.) Wink

    condom usage demos:

A doctor and his team went to villages to educate people about birthcontrol due to a very high population growth.

When it came to the time to introduce condoms to the husbands, it was novel to the villagers and they didn’t know what to do with it. So they asked the doctor to model it. AND THE DOCTOR DID.

A year after, the doctor and his team went back for follow ups. One dude complained that his wife still got pregnant.

Doctor: Did you use a condom when you loved your wife?
Dude : Yes, I did. And I did exactly what you had shown it to me.
    Doctor: Then what’s the problem?
Dude: My thumb is smaller than yours, so the condom kept slipping off my thumb.

  21. Kradamour says:

asif, I always love your posts. This one is not an exception! LOL Rolls Eyes

Darn, that was one site that I wasn’t aware of until recently. Sounds like I’ve been missing out. Wonder if I can still find them on it. I’ll take a look! Could use more laughs!

Asif, now that’s funny! Interesting and family friendly as well!

  23. floridagirl says:

Kradamour, I loved that post from steelbluelily. I joined that group already. Signed up ages ago! Smile

  24. Oksana2000 says:

floridagirl, when you go to Home Planet , click on IDOL RECAPS, then on SEASON10, and there we go.. Smile
For time being I’ll give you a link to one of them recaps..

    Enjoy… Grin

  25. floridagirl says:

    Oksana, thanks!!! Heading there now…

Today I checked our local TV Guide for Project Runway. I have never seen the show before, so I thought I might check it out. It turns out that it is on from 3 this afternoon until 11 this evening on Lifetime. Obviously, these must be reruns. Does anyone know when the new season begins? I still may take a look at one of these older shows. Wink

  28. nkd says:

Dcglam, Project Runway is in the middle of a season now. I believe that there are 9 remaining contestants.
Josh, Kimberly, Bert, Anya, Anthony Ryan, Bryce…
This may be this seasons shows that are being shown today. New episode is tonight, I think!

  29. eywflyer says:

Yay, finally a long weekend off! Was finally able to fix the problem that prevented me from updating the drop-down menus properly, so the AI performances are no longer appearing in jumbled order. Second Atlanta show recap will be posted later on, heading out to bowling now.

Now if I could just fix the stack overflow error when editing comments…

  30. glambotgram says:

dcglam the show on at 9:00 EST tonight is the newest one. The others on today are the shows from the beginning of this season.

So it looks like the new show airs at 9 EST on Thursdays. All others are reruns

  31. luval says:

dcglam…I have watched Project Runway from day one. My favorite reality show next to Flipping Out.

Anyway, It must be a marathon going on today but the 9pm-10pm is the new show for tonight. This is EDT. Not sure where you are. Honestly IMO the contestants this year are not the best. The year Christian Siriano won (couple of seasons ago) was the very very best with such talented people. I LOVE fashion and how people can be so passionate about what they do…create what in their minds is the absolute greatest piece! Some of it is junk! But most are really talented.

    eta…glambotgram…ya beat me to it!

  32. asifclueless says:

Thanks … krads and floridagirl. Smile

And thanks ..guys …for the homeplanet link.

I’ll go there to check it out. Love chunkey. She is funny.

  33. dcglam says:

    nkd….. very strange!
I’m wondering why my TV Guide (from the Washington Post) is listing so many of them throughout the day. They usually do that for reruns only. I’m wondering if and when the “real deal” is on in my area. Confused

  34. dcglam says:

    Ah….. thanks, sister glambotgram!
    9:00 it is! Smile

  35. dcglam says:

Thanks to both of you as well, nkd and luval! Smile

  36. dcglam says:

    heading out to bowling now.

Good luck and have fun, eywflyer!

  37. milwlovesadam says:

Oh my. homeplanet is sooo funny today!

Oh. And BTW. {{{ GULP}}}} Thanks for the reminder of THAT picture!! And for that very special Strut too. TeeHee. Holes in his pants. Maybe that’s why he switched to leather laces in Asia.

Kradamour, you mentioned that Adam had been in Atlanta a year before the Atlanta GN shows. Remember my story about the cutie pie in Peoria who was all googly eyed because he had made out with Adam in a club in Atlanta the fall before? Our stories mesh. And let me tell you, this young man besides being sweet, funny, adorable and cute as a button; was totally Adam’s “type”, younger, smaller and sweet.

  38. milwlovesadam says:

Oh. And for anyone who is interested, the Kradison concert thread at HomePlanet is one of the funniest things I’ve ever read.

  39. luval says:

Hi mils…have Project Runway on and am about to check out Home Planet…thanks!

eywflyer may not be home yet. Probably celebrating a strike!! Smile

So I don’t forget. 9/15/10…Second Atlanta concert. This was Longineau’s last night and they all wore dreads! Not a good look for Adam IMO…especially with the black lipstick.

  40. Kradamour says:

Ah, mils, love it when the research data starts to fit together into a big picture! Smile
Hard to imagine what it would be like to see Adam on stage after having been (perhaps) intimate with him, or at least very cuddly…as Adam has put it, he “has needs”…lol. Adam apparently did some clubbing in Atlanta after GNT concert, wonder if he met up with old connections? If so, I think it would have been nice for him to have at least that bit of continuity. It also would have explained some of the friskiness at Tabernacle! Smile

RAY-GAY! I was THERE, too! What a great crowd! GA, but froggie had scored VIP seated tickets, front row center balcony, in that small venue we were almost on top of the stage, it was WONDERFUL!
Loved Allison’s set to open. Does anyone know what she is doing, if anything?

  42. milwlovesadam says:

Here’s the link for the Kradison thread:

    Bowing, ….thank you thank you.

  43. milwlovesadam says:

Yes. I agree, the dreds with the lipstick wasn’t a good look. But, they sure had fun.

My only regret about Hawaii was in not bringing grass skirts and coconut bras to my Meet and Greet. I have always wondered if they would have worn them…

  44. luval says:

mils…regarding the Kradison concert and the infamous thigh, etc. rub. If I remember wasn’t that just a rumor? There was never one photo. I mean everyone had cameras so I don’t know. What do you think?

  45. milwlovesadam says:

luval, back when I was trying to sell my extra ticket for the Rockford show, I was posting on event threads trying to sell it on the fansite. I was in contact with a ton of people. One of whom called me, after several messages I “trusted” her enough to give my number to her, and she told me some interesting stuff. We had a wild phone call.

She was there. She saw it. Her best friend was one of 2-3 fans who were “all up in it.” They had pictures. When they posted them, they “disappeared.” Whatever, maybe You Tube pulled them because of content. But, her friend swears, as did many others, that this story is true.I’m inclined to believe it’s true, just by how wild he was that night and how close the fans were to him.

Think I’ll go visit that WLL. I haven’t seen it in many months, and if memory serves, it’s ummm. Well. It’s worthy.

  46. luval says:

Well, if so many peeps were there and saw it, it must be true! I have a feeling he wouldn’t do that today although there was some leg “love” in Paris. Smile

Think I’ll go look at WLL too.

  47. nkd says:

I always wondered if the “friskiness” was a result of frustration or satisfaction! So maybe it’s from the latter. Wink

    Or both…or either… Smile

  50. milwlovesadam says:

“””I always wondered if the “friskiness” was a result of frustration or satisfaction! So maybe it’s from the latter. Wink””

Oh nkd darlin’, methinks Adam isn’t frustrated very often….

I always thought that whenever he was particularly naughty onstage it was because he had been naughty.
