Yes, and NOT because it is tedious like – ahem – WWFM…not that I ever had that opportunity, given that it didn’t play here.
I know a lot of peeps loved it, but it is definitely my least favorite on the FYE album. I think his first single needs to be broadly loved, uptempo; a ballad is fine, but not lugubrious like WWFM. Just my opinion and not intended to denigrate anyone else’s opinion about WWFM, I am only making the point as it concerns new music.
Okay, someone else will have to write the lyrics, but I totally heard “Crimson and Clover” as the tune for “Eggplant and Laces”…(speaking of which, there is another lugubrious song, IMHO).
I like adamized’s take on it better, though.
“Plan, love, create” … exactly. A perfect life balance.
(nekkid, you don’t have to be 30 if you don’t want to. I remember you told us that you had a hurricane birthday a few years ago, too, so you must have only been actually 28 before, right?

Luval, yes I’m here so bring on little Adam. Happy birthday nkd. Just remember the alternative to having birthdays isn’t great so enjoy and embrace each one. I wonder if Adam even realizes how much fun, friendship and of course music he’s brought into our lives. I know I’m having more fun and adventures than my friends. None of them have lots of 29 yr old friends and one who has a life sized Adam or one that writes cute songs or one that makes list or several who write epic reviews and one who dress in a fashion that rival Adam and so on and so on.

Boy, I feel as though I’ve been gone a long time from here. It’s good to be back amongst you all, although I haven’t been too far away, really, just in the other thread, Ste Agathe, which I finally finished reading in its entirety last Friday. What a joy to read and re-live the fabulous weekend we had. I’m still debating if I should leave my own recap (of what?) there, but the longer I wait, the fainter the memories become, but perhaps that’s the best way to filter out the noise.

Had dinner with Ron, KDD43, Milkywayfairy, Doreen and TLKC on Saturday in Toronto. We always have such a wonderful time together. And you should have seen Ron!…he looked mahvelous. Stunning suit.
So we have to wait a bit longer now to hear Adam’s new album. I’m okay with that. I’m enjoying the downtime, but hope that doesn’t meant that his next tour will run in the winter time. It will be difficult for many of us in the north to travel during this time.

That was my thought, too, Northern Spirit. Adam’s career seems to have taken a turn onto its own route quite a while ago. I know that to the uninitiated, he is still that gay guy from Idol, but those people had a chance to be fans and passed on the opportunity. His headlining tour, the lengthy international leg, his hugely extensive charity work…these things are all very un-Idol (IMHO, but I don’t really know anything about Idol. And maybe that is the point. I am a loyal Adam fan, but Idol doesn’t mean anything at all to me.)

I feel I’m late to the party, but I too want to add my birthday wishes to Nkd!! I hope you are having a great day.
Funny story. My sister in law (who knows I am a giant Adam fan, and who has accompanied me to one Adam concert (Luval, she isn’t the problem companion!)) has a good friend (I’ll call her Ann.) One day last year, they were talking and Ann happened to mention that she had a good friend (I’ll call her Beth) who was a huge Adam fan. My sister in law immediately said said they had to get us together. Beth and I were each given each others’ email addresses and we contacted each other have gotten together a few times to compare Adam experiences and fangirl together. Anyway, this evening, the 4 of us got together for dinner and had a great time connecting over Adam and life. Its amazing to me how much we all have in common. Now the 2 non-uber fans (my sister in law and Ann) are going to join us for at least one concert on the next tour!!!
