Scotty versus Adam is a ridiculous comparison.
It’s like comparing a scoop of plain vanilla ice cream in a dish to a super deluxe hot fudge sundae with 3 flavors of ice cream, 3 flavors of sauce, bananas, huge nuts, whole cherries, lots of fruit, several large cookies on the side and whipped cream spilling over the dish, landing on the table needing to be licked off!!!
Puhleeeze. Let the comparisons be made by adults. Ahem.
wow…forgot…one year ago yesterday 10/10/10…Glam Nation was at Mall of Asia in Manilla with over 11,000 peeps.

luval, those shows a year ago were the start of an amazing series. Remember how OTT he got in Australia and New Zealand? And the wild leather jacket, oh, what fun we had on those threads!
Then came Hawaii. And then Europe. Ahhh. Europe. Not for the faint of heart.
I gave up on posting anything on MJs months ago. Waste of time pretty much – any positive remark re Adam is guaranteed to draw fire there.
I find it interesting that MJ has rushed in to purge the Scotty thread of fan warring comments, but almost any Adam thread is open season for such comments. Oh well.
Eywflyer, because MJ doesn’t like Adam or Adam’s fans.I know that from an outside source. She has to tolerate us, because we were bringing traffic and she needs hits, but there is no love lost.

To me, Scotty = country Bieber. It’s like all those kid’s movies that draw huge numbers because whole families go to see them, not just adults….Every tween needs to have Scotty’s album now (even my tween granddaughters, who are Adam fans and Bieber fans and don’t know anything about country music). Can’t be compared to Adam at all.

I saw your post about X factor, I am loving it too, Simon is so much more entertaining than those milquetoast judges we had on Idol who gave us Vanilla Scotty. Can’t wait to see what he does with the girls.
I agree about MJ’s anymore. Very one sided over there now. I don’t care that people love Scotty, but bringing Adam into it is just stupid.

I was lurking on mj’s (as I do best) and had read your post before it got deleted. You are in good company though as even Q3’s comparative post about actual Adam first week sales was also removed. And that is why we are here…posting about ice cream sundaes, bananas, huge nuts, and fingers.

Does anybody remember Adam’s thread on MJ’s when FYE debuted? It was 2 days after AMA and I was sick to my stomach, I didn’t even want to look at Internet, with all the hoola baloola.
Were people congratulating him for almost 200,000 sales or did bashing him go out of hand?

All I know of that time, Oksana, was that I was on constant edge – the irrationality of the criticism was stupefying. I don’t know how much Adam read of the stuff, but the thoughts of his doing so was enough to break your heart.
He is one very courageous man.
I wasn’t reading mjs at that time, but Adam sure did put up a brave face. He has revealed in interviews since that he thought he had blown it. The way he faced it all and rose from the ashes made me love him even more.
And oh, what fun we’ve had since then!

I think we may need to change the subject as we all won’t agree but I personally think MJ respects Adam and his talent and post alot about him as his threads always get lot of hits. Talk about negativity just read a James of Pia thread or poor Lee. Some people seem to love to pile on you when when your down. Any blog after the AMA’s got lots of negative Adam post, even some of his fans weren’t complimentary. I love MJ’s despite all it’s warts and I love Adam. Last time I looked he didn’t have any warts, but I’ve never got to see enough of him to really find out.

Ok, I’m back. Eating some Haagen-Daz chocolate ice cream. Sure to have nightmares in a bit or at the very least, heartburn.
He’s controversial and obviously a very interesting topic, so that’s great and thus he stays in the news and current. I love it. Bring on the controversy! Keeps him in the spotlight even without new music. His new album will blow the naysayers out of the water, even if they won’t ever admit it. As a matter of fact, there are several previous Adam haters on MJs that have toned down and actually now give him compliments on his character and success even though they are not fans of his music. There are a few new haters, fans of newer idols and jealous ones, but who cares? They’re only jealous because he’s always in the celeb mags and MJ always gives him a thread/mention for even getting a new haircut or just out grocery shopping. Whether she likes him or not, she respects his “notoriety”, charisma and prolific fanbase. I for one will always be grateful to her blog for introducing me to all you amazing people here. 
My two cents on MJs. Happy that Adam’s threads are still very popular. Even haters can’t keep away.

About MJ. Love us or hate us, whatever, we are making her a lot of money. No other “topic” or thread gets as many hits or posts. Adam goes to the grocery store, and she probably had over 200 posts and several thousand hits on that thread alone.
I still go there every day and post occassionally. I make a concerted effort to keep my posts “light.” I’m not going to engage in fan warring or get defensive over there ever again. It boils my blood too, Okasana, and I have been moderated and deleted in the past too.
I never thought I could have my feelings hurt by a blog. But, I did feel hurt. And, I still go there daily.

I just came up with another theory re: Mj’s. I get the feeling she’s just sick and tired of the Adam warring, and expects it. Therefore, she’s not hovering in his threads as much. But with Scotty, he’s so young and such a newbie, she is protecting him.
Then, other times, I feel like she does Adam fans a favor all the time by creating a thread for everything he does. It keeps us on topic, and in one place.
The other thing to keep in mind, IMHO, is that MJ’s is read by thousands and thousands of people. I discovered it from a mention in either People, Rolling Stone or, I think, even Newsweek.
The fact that she keeps Adam newsworthy, pulls together info about him from other sources, must mean that he IS newsworthy. He sure generates posters. I guess, if people feel strongly enough about him, between albums, he is becoming more and more famous. It’s all good for his career.
Guess I’m up for good. Hmmmm. Maybe I’ll slice a banana on my oatmeal and sprinkle on a few nuts….
Damn Mils, you had everyone going for ice cream last night and now the oatmeal pots will be bubbling this morning. I’m wishing I had put on some steel cut oats in the crockpot last night.

I have oatmeal every morning. Love it love it love it. And the occasional dinner if alone. Never thought of adding nuts and bananas…gotta say, oatmeal just acquired a new charm.
Re MJ’s… (and I think we have spent so much time posting about her blog because ADAM IS NOT PROVIDING NEW MUSIC and idle hands are the devil’s playthings lol)…
I come to this blog for sunshine and light (and our occasional affectionate “debbie downer” conversations that have Adam’s best interests at heart). I don’t go to other sites and don’t really think it is appropriate to bring that negativity here, even if it is to complain about it, except a brief note or two of exasperation, or to just inform the posters here that there is a significant dust-up on another site.
I think that mils’ last posts – and cher‘s, upthread a few – really said everything that needs to be said about mj’s for a while. It is what it is, and most of us have/had a love/hate relationship with it. Bottom line, it served as the impetus for this wonderful site, and provided a relatively safe haven during season 8 and after when the trolls and haters seemed to be running rampantly unchecked everywhere else.
Please don’t anyone take this personally.
But I almost didn’t click on this morning because I was afraid it would just be more comments about mjs and I didn’t feel up to it. I hope we can let it go for a while.
Okay, off to get my oatmeal going…

I do hope Adam provides some new music soon. With no new music and no concerts scheduled, new discussion items are hard to come by right now. Glad we are getting close to the end of this period.

I was surprised also to hear about mjs from eywflyer -a guy. I thought it was a gal’s thing that we get hurt easily.
I also want to say -I feel your pain- with Oksana, glambotgram, riskylady, and many others.
Been there, done that, since May 2009 towards the end of AI 8. Many people whom I loved and admired had moved on to form their own sites. I stayed behind at mjs … and my reward is YOU GUYS and this wonderful site.

Almost as silly as that wonderful vid that you found for us! Adam does have the most infectious laugh, so spontaneous and uncensored. One of so many things to love! But damn he looks young in that vid. And I regretfully have to admit that the emo hair is and probably should be a thing of the past. He has outgrown it.
