November finds Adam starting out the month with a rather exclusive gig at “Live in the Vineyard” in Napa, California, followed later on in the month by his first concerts in South Africa. Recent information hints that these concerts could be the unofficial start of a potential upcoming Trespassing tour, but we’ll have to wait and see about that.

Had a hard time finding a good photo this month – I’m not a fan of the Glampire pix this year so had to look for other pics. Eventually decided on a slightly pensive look for Adam, from the Arizona State Fair concert. Hope you like it.

Enjoy the chat!

luval, of course darlin’. Tomorrow is good…and thanks.

  2. turquoisewaters says:

Hi mils. I had rewatched that video just last night.
“I want to bring a wild man back home.” LOL. I went to this gig, and yes it was short and not perfect, but so worth it, because it did have some priceless moments in it. So I guess I’ll keep going to any concert in my area, radio show or not. In retrospect, even Sacramento was worth it, just for the sparkly zebra pants and the hip thrusting lessons alone. I go back and look at videos, and it just puts a huge smile on my face. Try as I might diversifying, there is no other performer that does that for me.

  3. milwlovesadam says:

Turquoise, I so agree. I do listen to other music, but nothing compares to our guy. Ever.

I’m really liking Bruno lately, but he simply isn’t the vocalist our guy is. However, he is nuts onstage. He really lets loose. I love his dancing and his guys, and his “break downs.” I would love to see him live. He came to my town last year with Janelle Monae, before he really got big. Oops, maybe it was two years ago. But I didn’t go. I simply have no one of my peers that would go to that type of show with me.

  4. Kradamour says:

But I didn’t go. I simply have no one of my peers that would go to that type of show with me.

The story of my life, mils. I have missed so many concerts over the years because I would have had to go alone, and I wasn’t brave enough to be one of few 29 year olds.
But I decided after missing the last one that I am just going to go, and have a good time. A concert, after all, can be a spectator sport and not a social event.
But it also brought me to see my dear friends in a new light. They are no less dear to me – but it made me realize that we are in some fundamental way different. There is something in me that I find in my fellow glambert peeps but not elsewhere. Hard to explain, but I suspect that many here will understand what I am trying to say.

  5. Ellessay says:

If you click on it, it will get bigger.

    That doesn’t sound right.

If you click on the photo, it will enlarge.

    That’s better! (I think)

Ron, honey, they both take my mind to where it shouldn’t go. Nice suit.

Listening to Adam while working on my book. (615 words to make tonight’s word count.) Thought he might help with creativity. Anyway, I have his AI stuff first, and then FYI. The AI stuff makes me feel very nostalgic. I loved his choices of songs during his run. Some I didn’t even know I liked until I heard him sing them, and his version has ruined it for me whenever I hear the original performers.

I’ve got to say that I’m really liking the revisit to the FYE album. I’ve heard those songs so much it’s just a part of me. The minute FYE came on, I quit typing and just started drumming the table with my thumbs. That’s why I’m here. Felt like a good time to take a break and just listen…with a smile on my face.

Next up is his pre-Idol stuff, then Tresspassing, finishing up with the Upright Cabaret songs. Hopefully by then we’ll have a stream of tonight’s performance!

  6. turquoisewaters says:

mils: I’d go to a Bruno concert with you in a heartbeat!
kradamour: I have gone to many a concert alone. And I just about always have a great time. My family/colleagues/friends think I’m too old for these kinds of adventures. I tell them I am too old to listen to anybody telling me what I can and cannot do. But I am signed up to go to Gaga with two of my teacher friends. (Lots of eyerolling from male colleagues, hahaha. ) And I have plans to see Muse – alone if need be. No idea who would go with me to see that, especially since the venue is in an area that’s considered bad.

  7. Kradamour says:

Good for you, turquoise. When I missed the Ke$ha concert, I decided that would be the last one.
Since then, no one terribly interesting has played here, but I am ready when the opportunity arises!

    G’nite, peeps!

  8. milwlovesadam says:

turquoise, I would go see Muse with you in a heartbeat.

We seem to get almost every music tour, every touring company, we get it all. And I miss a lot.

Kradamour, I totally agree with you. I have conquered the going to see a movie myself thing, and the taking myself out for lunch thing years ago. Going to see a concert alone is something else though. Hubby just isn’t a concert guy. He’ll go to the theater with me, he even endured Rock of Ages and Hair, and liked them ( Well TBH, ROA was a bit much for him).

Krads, your comment about realizing that we are fundamentally different than most of our peers is exactly why I am drawn to this fandom. It satisfies something deep inside.

    Let me re-word that.

Oh, poopy, I can’t. I’ll leave it at that!

@Kyo_jp We are recording “Trespassing” for a #VH1Top20 bump-in on next week’s episode

Not sure what this means….. Anybody???

  10. milwlovesadam says:

A bump-in is when they show live concert footage, not a “video.” It’s really cool. Good for Adam.

  11. dcglam says:

    Awesome! Thanks, mils.

  12. sparkle says:

Hi dcglam! Had to check in here before bed. Really need to get some sleep – I’m going to visit our friend mmm222 in Annapolis tomorrow morning! This mirrors perfectly what mils, krad and turquoise stated above – mmm has become the new friend that I didn’t even know I needed until we met in WB and started our Adam Adventures together!!

  13. dcglam says:

Hi back atcha, sparkle! Safe travels into Annapolis and enjoy your visit with mmm222. Blowing Kisses

Turquoisewaters, I’d go and see Muse with you, saw them in concert a couple of years ago, and whilst they’re not my favourite type of music, I’d see them again.

And Mils, I’d definitely see Bruno with you, I think he’s great…obviously not nearly as great as AdamSmile, but still up there

  17. milwlovesadam says:

cwm, that was absolutely fascinating. I don’t think it was a parody, seems more like an editorial. And it also seems that Ms. Taub has been taken to school. The ripple effect of her stupidity continues to spread. And, with all the angst, I completely didn’t realize that she was supposed to be blogging a review of the show. She didn’t do her job. For her “editor” to back her up when she didn’t write about the performance and focused on Adam’s supposed diss of her instead, was derelict.

  18. luval says:

Am over here now. Just read the comments on Underneath over on the Napa Valley thread. Yes, Universe, make it happen.

I just e-mailed a heartfelt note to the Grammys about this. They probably will never see it. But to toot my own horn for a moment, I was once able to keep someone out of jail because of a letter I wrote to the judge. Although he received many letters about this person (a wonderful nurse who was at the wrong place at the wrong time), he said it was my letter alone that convinced him to let her go free.

lol, hope I didn’t jinx anything!

  19. cwm says:

I just posted this on the Live in the Vineyard thread, but it needs to be posted here, too.

    Sauli just posted this.

    LOVE IT In Love

    http://instagram.com/p/Rmjv3yFmtl/

(note his Heart caption. OMG I’m dying over here!)

  20. luval says:

cwm, at first I wasn’t sure what you were referring to… Heart ,but now I see it!

  21. luval says:

Do you guys remember how Sauli was so “in love” with Liam Neeson…went to the opening of Taken 2 in Finland, met him? Since then, to me anyway, I think Adam and Liam could be very very distant cousins in the way they look. Very chiseled features, handsome, tall men. Probably seeing something that no one else is. Smile

  22. milwlovesadam says:

Well, what it says to me luval, is that just as much as Sauli is Adam’s “type”, Adam is Sauli’s “type”.

FWIW. i like Liam Neeson too. Always have. I remember well the first time he stood out was in that movie with Cher and Dennis Quaid, where he was on trial and was deaf. I can’t remember the name of it..But, he was stunning to look at, that’s for sure.

  23. luval says:

mils, I tweeted Ron’s pic again to Adam but man does he get dozens and dozens and dozens of tweets every hour! Mostly with the same thing over again..”I love you”, etc. It’s a timing thing that Adam ever sees a tweet you want him to.

  24. luval says:

Yikes, two-ish weeks until South Africa. Nothing going on until then. Maybe we’ll get leaks of any new songs. I’ll bet he’ll be rehearsing intensively. Wonder what drummer?

Cape Town is 7 hours ahead of me (est). So if the show starts approx. 8pm, it will be 1pm my time, noon Central time. Odds of a livestream? Probably zero to none but you never know.

Forgot that he’ll have an opening act, then set-up time, then time for Adam to be late…lol.

  25. glambotgram says:

cwm OMG Thank you for posting that article/blog/editorial? I was reading and surprise, surprise came upon my tweet to Pacific Punch was highlighted. I feel so famous now Grin Grin

  26. LadyNorth says:

I have to open up a little about my weekend. So, since Friday I’ve been diving in the DVDs Cher and jlurk sent. Most of them I have seen but not on the big screen Smile So I was pretty overdosed Fri evening when my guy came Grin

Anyway on Sat I decided to watch Hollywood story. Well, he stopped reading his mag and began to watch it too. Then I picked up the best performances he hasn’t seen (he has watched GNT DVD and of course Queenbert). He tolerates Adam very well I think, if I keep it in small dozes Wink He likes FYE over Trespassing, because it’s more rock vibe. But I saw him jamming to live Trespassing Grin

Today an old friend of mine from another city stopped by, he was spending the weekend here, there’s some big jazz happening. He is over 50 and a big music lover. I have never seen anyone with such a collection of music as he has… Two walls full of CDs. Classic rock, heavy metal, jazz, what ever. He knows my new passion, so he asked me to play or show him some Adam with and without Queen. After seeing Queenbert and Sleepwalker and Soaked he said now he understands, the boy really can sing. He appreciates good singing and music, but is not interested in pop music.

The three of us had a long talk about music. They don’t appreciate much most of the music today. They said “radio friendly” music means there’s not much dynamics in music – there are not quiet parts and louder parts, it’s all the same. I felt like that’s true. And that’s why I love Adam live, there’s more soul in music that way. The good voice gives the dynamics, there is no artificial effects needed. Guys thought it’s a waste to sing pop if you have a great voice. Because they think usually pop relies on mostly other things than great voice. Hmmm… I’d like to know how many people think like that and automatically categorize Adam certain way because he sings pop, without knowing his real talent. I feel that best way to introduce Adam’s music is to show live performances.

I call this a day and a weekend, time to go to bed here.

Good morning! Tomorrow is the anniversary of Adam and Sauli’s first meeting. I found an e-card floating around last night and signed it but sadly, it has already been sent (from Australia, which is so many hours ahead of us) or I would post the link here.

Re: Adam’s tweets – how could we expect otherwise? We all speak up for ourselves every day and cannot, in good conscience, deny anyone else the right to do the same.

I guess he will lose some fans but something tells me that he would rather compromise his position than his values, which, in the words of that old reactionary, Rudyard Kipling, makes him a man.

If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too:
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated don’t give way to hating,
    And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise;

    If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:.
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build’em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,

And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss:
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on!”

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!
