November finds Adam starting out the month with a rather exclusive gig at “Live in the Vineyard” in Napa, California, followed later on in the month by his first concerts in South Africa. Recent information hints that these concerts could be the unofficial start of a potential upcoming Trespassing tour, but we’ll have to wait and see about that.

Had a hard time finding a good photo this month – I’m not a fan of the Glampire pix this year so had to look for other pics. Eventually decided on a slightly pensive look for Adam, from the Arizona State Fair concert. Hope you like it.

Enjoy the chat!

The speculation about Adam’s new tattoo is intense! So funny. I’m not believing any rumors about what it is, where it is, or how big it is until we actually see it. And since he didn’t reveal it right away, who knows how long he’ll make us wait until the big reveal. *ObsessivelyCheckingTwitter*

Cute pic of a stubbly Adam with a fan from earlier today. Smile

I’m just so excited that Adam is on the list, and that this is the official Grammy site!

OK, so after the positive comments about the In60 interview, especially by cwm and riskylady, I just went back and watched it again, this time on youtube and not the chopped up stream. I very much understand your comments and if I look from the point of view of a casual fan or someone who doesn’t know him, they got a very comprehensive picture of Adam and his life. He comes off as a serious musician; articulate, thoughtful and intelligent, not the usual type associated by the public with pop stars. And for those who still associate him only with the AMAs it showed another, much more accurate side of him. The editing was very good, with the video snippets inserted to add color and texture and give the viewer an idea of Adam’s music. I guess that I felt that it was a very formal interview. The connection between Adam and his interviewer was friendly but it lacked the spark that we have seen in others where there is a real connection. So we didn’t get the warm, funny, relaxed Adam that we love so much, but I guess that can’t happen every time. For what it was, it was a very good and thorough interview and served its purpose.

  5. rs says:

I am nervous about the tat, but it is his body to do with as he pleases. It is not my place to judge.

the weather should be warm still…..its not, its chilly, rainy, foggy….Adams had about the worst weather possible for November since he’s been here. There’s not much to do in HK when it rains if you’re visiting, apart from shopping, or the cinema….he could rent the Directors Club, a lovely private 20 seat cinema with big, comfy reclinable seats…..or he could come round my place, watch a bit of TV!!!!!

  7. rs says:

haha HK Fan, I like Adam’s second option. How long will he be in HK? Does anybody know?

  8. HK fan says:

Adam and Queen were at 1 with nearly 9, are dropping down if anyone wants to throw a few more votes his way.

  10. luval says:

Well we don’t see his shoulders and arms that much anyway especially with all the layers. I wonder what’s under that beanie.

  11. Oksana2000 says:

    Adam, why?
    Are you THAT bored????

  12. Oksana2000 says:

Two more day in rainy Hong Kong with nothing to do,I don’t even want to think what he might do to entertain himself… Frown

  13. LadyNorth says:

I have to say that I like the latest tat (savage beast) more… But it’s his skin. I am pleased it’s not in his chest!

Here slowly returning to the reality. Thanks again everyone for congrats Smile My pulse has returned close to normal after one week at 130 at least Wink

I finally had time to watch in Sixty, the youtube version. I can understand rs your thoughts about formality, it was not fun or relaxed the way we have seen is some foreign interviews. But all the time when I watched I was thinking that this is the interview I’d like all the non glamberts to see, to introduce artist Adam. Especially those who think he is just an empty bubblegum reality star. They don’t have to like his music but they could appreciate him as a real artist. Unfortunately most peeps are not going to spend an hour (-quarter) watching an interview.

When some peeps in my fb asked what concert I was fighting ticks for, I linked that timelive (?) review article from SA. I wish someone reads it… But I understand if they don’t, people have to choose their interests, there’s so much information and entertainment around. But I am happy I have other glamberts to go into it Smile

  14. Kradamour says:

I am trying so hard not to be judgemental…but the tattoo thing is something I really struggle with.
I live in a navy town, full of people with blurry faded tattoos on their no longer taut young skin. It is not pretty.
I don’t know a soul with a tattoo among my acquaintance. Most of my friends would use the word “trashy”. (I live in the south. Smile )
I get that tattoos in the world of 20 somethings are not necessarily seen this way, especially in the music and entertainment business.
But I look at them and my lip curls a little bit. I can’t help it.
And part of me says that Adam should be old enough to know better.
Yes, I know, this is totally a judgment on my part.
But it is an indisputable fact that the tattoos will not age well.
And Adam is indisputably gorgeous; his amazing good looks are matched with wonderful comic timing and I would love to see him expand his career to include acting. Makeup can cover just so much, and large tattoos can limit the roles available to him.
And I just think this is such a shame. It makes me sad.
Okay that is all I am ever going to say about the tattoos.
I just had to say it once and get it out of my system.
I’m perfectly okay with having rocks thrown at me, I just had to say it. I’ll duck now.
    Big Frown

ETA: I just saw the tattoo. A humanoid ram spewing liquid. I get the symbolism but this is not an attractive image. And there is something about the eyes…they don’t match, to me there is something vaguely threatening in the look, I can’t really put my finger on it. But if it were an image in a book, I would feel disquieted by the sight and turn the page.
Now I am completely done with the subject. It is what it is.

  15. Kradamour says:

But all the time when I watched I was thinking that this is the interview I’d like all the non glamberts to see, to introduce artist Adam. Especially those who think he is just an empty bubblegum reality star.

ITA, Lady North. This interview wasn’t for us, it was for a larger audience, and I think it was perfect in that context.

(But for us glamberts, I will always return to the pleather pants, the whatsername Collins, the eyemakeup lesson in scandinavia,…)
    Wink

  16. LadyNorth says:

  17. luval says:

I almost don’t mind a tattoo that size but the water drops coming out of the woman’s mouth? What does it mean? Must have really meant something to Adam. There are a bazillion tattoo designs out there but this one must have spoke to him.

  18. Kradamour says:

Okay, one more post(ho) before I get back to RL…I clearly am missing something. What is the story behind Hold On? It isn’t on the album but it is available in a full and finished version on youtube? And apparently Adam tweeted about it recently?
    Huh?
    Question

  19. LadyNorth says:

But for us glamberts, I will always return to the pleather pants, the whatsername Collins, the eyemakeup lesson in scandinavia

Yes, kradamour Grin Collins guy, was he that funny one with beard in UK? That one was hilarious… Many good interviews but I don’t remember what, but I remember better the performances I guess Smile I think a lot of good and entertaining ones from Australia…

  20. ultimathule says:

I would never tweet or say anything to Adam about the tat, but feel that I can express here to my friends what I really feel: I hate it.

  21. Kradamour says:

(Ulti, I just amended my post above with my opinion. Nice to know that I am not alone.)

Lady North, that is another excellent interview! I was thinking of the young woman, the very tall and large one, an American, the interview was in the early days.

  22. milwlovesadam says:

Let’s be honest, if he wears a sleeveless shirt and the tat is showing, but he’s got on the zebra pants, hey, who’s lookin’ at the tat?

  23. milwlovesadam says:

    Krads, that’s Michelle Collins.

  24. LadyNorth says:
  25. LadyNorth says:

Mils, how is your new baby doing? Any feedback yet Smile?

Oh, and more selling out news from this side of the Atlantic

    Katya ☮ @Gagusik
Moscow gig is going to be sold out,I swear! Everyone is buying tix only for Adam’s show!Call center shocked! @adamlambert YOU ARE WELCOME Smile

  26. luval says:

Call me crazy but I kinda like it.

  27. milwlovesadam says:

    Okay, so:

Aquarius is the water bearer. Usually seen as a deity pouring out a large jug of water. In the tat there is water coming out of a deity’s mouth and waves all over.

Aries is the ram, we see the horns curling at the head.

Libra is the scales of justice. I’ll interpret that as the Glamberts calling out in unison ” No FAIR. You altered the Glam body in a big way. We demand justice for the fallen freckles!”

    The image has a bhindi.

Adam is observing No Shave November.

His ginger was also showing in his sideburns in that pic with a fan.

One of the eyes in the face on the tat is half closed. That must be on purpose.

The water turns into fire. Besides the Adele song Set Fire to the Rain, I need to look up myths about that.

  28. milwlovesadam says:

I have such mixed feelings about tats. I have seen so many lately in real life. So many people my age and certainly in their 20’s and 30’s have them. It seems like if you don’t have a tat and are under 40 you stand out as odd these days.

The hospital I have been working at lately has a strict policy of covering visible tatoos and piercings. So, almost all the staff have a small band-aid on their nose or eyebrows. They wear surgical tape over their wrists and the backs of their necks. One of the male nurses wears an arm stocking to cover his sleeve of tats. All these coverings look worse than teh tats and piercings, IMHO.

But, this is health care. It ain’t show biz at all.

I also have the opportunity to see a lot of old, old tats on old saggy skin. It’s not a pretty sight.

All that having been said, I really want one when I achieve my health goal at some point in the future. I really do. A discreet and meaningful tattoo. And then my entire family will have me sent to a padded palace somewhere!!

To quote one of my favorite ladies, Joy Behar, “So what? Who cares?”

  29. Ceddies says:

I’m not a fan of tats in general–but this one in particular. It’s immediately disturbing to me.
And, I totally missed any possible reference to “Hold On” prior to today (I’m assuming it has been discussed previously). But, I do like it.

ETA: I had at one time wanted a tiny dragonfly tattooed on my left great toe. Don’t like pain, so I chickened out. May do it one day still (now that I’m over 29) and skin is SOMEWHAT where it is going to remain.

  30. ultimathule says:

With regard to the difference in the eyes – if you cover one-half of the face, think you see male on left and female on right.
His FYE album was somewhat like that.

    And check out the eyebrows.

  31. apal123 says:

I think that tattoo is quite hideous but I have always hated tats. My dad was in the navy and he had one that he always tried to cover. By today’s standards it was quite tame. It went around his wrist and looked like a rope or braid. He always wore a watch so it would be hidden. Both of my daughters have tats and I cried when I found out. Theirs are not visible and I still was bereft. I just don’t find them attractive and am sorta glad that this one will be covered with layers.

  32. cwm says:

Wow, that tattoo is intense! The size, elaborateness, and intensity of it are immediately arresting to me. It will take some getting used to.

I do like the artistry of it. It is very complex and very well drawn. And it is chock full of symbolism that is obviously very meaningful to Adam. But its size, location, and intensity will definitely take some getting used to.

I used to be pretty anti-tattoo. But I’ve become much more accepting of them in the past few years. I run in professional circles and have a number of colleagues and friends who have tattoos, large and small, as a means of self-expression, body art, or wearing a meaningful symbol. The zeitgeist has changed so much over the past decade, especially for the under 40’s. Tattoos are no longer automatically “trashy.” Although I have no desire to get one myself, I accept and can appreciate them much more. Now, whether or not I like someone’s tat(s) is based on size, number, location, aesthetics, and meaning.

We have to remember that Adam is surrounded by people with multiple tattoos. It’s very rock and roll. Sauli has a sleeve. Adam had said on multiple occasions that he wants a sleeve. I think it’s only a matter of time. If he wants it, he’s gonna do it, whether we 29-year-olds like it or not. We just have to brace ourselves for it!

  33. cwm says:

ultimathule – I think you nailed it about the difference in eyes. I definitely see the male/female duality now that you point it out.

I see the obvious references to Aquarius and Aries, but what are the references to Libra (balance)? Is it maybe in the male/female?

Also, the water turning to flames are cool.

  34. Oksana2000 says:

When I grew up (must’ve been mesozoic) having tatoo meant that you either just left prison of juvie.
I still don’t get tatoos. It’s not a haircolor that you can change if you changed your mind. And they look unappetizing on old skin. JMO.

  35. ultimathule says:

    We’re two mesozoicans, then, Oksana.

  37. luval says:

Kradamour…Hold On is a leaked demo from early November. Here’s Adam’s tweet about it.

    Adam Lambert ‏@adamlambert

thought i’d post it: leaked demo “Hold On” Written with Nikka Costa and Prince Board. Think of it as some mixtape shit..http://youtu.be/lk8t8-lMg2w

  38. riskylady says:

Hmmmm. Well, definitely the face has dual sides, eyes and eyebrows are different as well as decorations on the cheeks. And, water, the ram’s horns. I’m sorry to see his beautiful shoulder covered, but I do feel it is his body, he’s a 30-yr-old pop/rock star and he’s free to decorate and express himself howevr he wants. The art is beautiful and symbolic, and when he is up on stage in those sleeveless outfits will add to his look and mystery. Just IMHO.
You don’t worry about age when you are 30, but I believe he will age well – just look at his mom and dad. Great genes.
The crap and drivel on Twitter though, is depressing. Whatever happened to live and let live in this country????

  39. Oksana2000 says:

This was very popular song in my old country. Somehow lyrics came to my mind when I saw Adam’s tatoo…

In the rain kids get bored, it’s generally known…
Although they hardly tire and don’t get dirty but are terribly bored in the rain

Translation of lyrics is all mine.. Rain

  40. Oksana2000 says:

riskylady, Adam will age VERY well, he looks better and betterer with passing time and that is usually not the case. He has great bone structure and I don’t see him losing hair any time soon. And of course great genes..

  41. ultimathule says:

What are they saying on twitter, riskylady?

The stuff on the Instagram was positive.

  42. cher says:

Can’t say I like the tat, but as long as it’s not on me and he loves it, fine with me. Neutral Love to see him so popular internationally! Didn’t realize the Moscow gig was part of a few day festival with different acts. That’s like Queen and Sonisphere. One act selling well, the others not. Wink

btw check out chunkey’s take on the tat
    http://www.thehomeplanet.org/2012/11/tatpocalypse/

  43. cwm says:

I agree with you, riskylady. It’s Adam’s body, he’s a grown man, an artist/pop-rock star, and he is free to express himself and decorate his body however he chooses. We may or may not like it, but it’s his choice and his body and what matters in the end is that he likes it and feels connected to it.

I have seen people on twitter refer to fans’ “wank” and “meltdowns” about the tattoo but I haven’t actually seen any of it myself. The people I follow have been quite favorable and supportive about it.

I like it in many ways – the artistry, the symbolism, the mysterious and mystical nature of it, but I’m gonna have to get used to its size and intensity.

  44. luval says:

I can’t wait to see that tat in person.

  45. cwm says:

Haha luval I see what you did there! Wink

  46. ultimathule says:

Reminds me a little bit of the morning after.

  47. rs says:

My opinion of Adam’s new tat is irrelevant. As cwm and riskylady have pointed out, it is his body to do with what he wants and I have to respect that. Adam’s tats are very meaningful for him and he had always put a lot of thought into what he wants permanently on his body, never acting impulsively. I remember that he talked about it in an interview once. Whether I like specific details or not, it has significance for him and that is what is important. And it is very dramatic and will probably look great on stage.

mmmm, I think I’m in Kradamours corner. Its just so big and in your face. Although I can appreciate the artistry and skills that have gone into making it. I like some tattoos, but this one not so much. Maybe it will grow on us.
