November finds Adam starting out the month with a rather exclusive gig at “Live in the Vineyard” in Napa, California, followed later on in the month by his first concerts in South Africa. Recent information hints that these concerts could be the unofficial start of a potential upcoming Trespassing tour, but we’ll have to wait and see about that.

Had a hard time finding a good photo this month – I’m not a fan of the Glampire pix this year so had to look for other pics. Eventually decided on a slightly pensive look for Adam, from the Arizona State Fair concert. Hope you like it.

Enjoy the chat!

Well, hope those tune-deaf, middle-aged, very rich people paid him big bucks – sounds like the performance was worth it.
Do you think M-B would use Adam in an ad?

  2. TLKC says:

That was a key point imho, turquoisewaters. It’s not surprising that Adam’s generation and older are not into marriage. They were not enculturated to it. Do you remember Adam saying that he thought love was a crock until he met Cheeks?

Telling yourself that something you can’t have is something that doesn’t matter is a pretty healthy way to address a problem and Adam is good at putting negative thoughts behind him and downplaying disappointment. But it’s hard to want what you’ve taught yourself not to miss.

Adam’s point that civil equality involves growing up to hope for and expect the same things as straight people offers something that Lady Gaga and other high-profile straight supporters of LGBTQ equality can’t: real insight into what it means and how it feels to actually be marginalized in every aspect of your life.

If they ask Lady Gaga to carry the banner on this issue on Inaugural night, I will spit every bowl of soup I’ve ever eaten from here to DC. Gaga and Minaj are surfing the wave of LGBTQ trendiness. Adam is living it.

    Rant finished.

Sorry the link doesn’t work for you HKFan. I checked it and it’s okay at my end. Guess it’s restricted to NA market.

  3. loveroftalent says:

@TLKC I LOVE your post and agree with every single word you said….

  4. turquoisewaters says:

My friend who just came back from the scene said the performance was spectacular, but the recording didn’t do it justice.

Thanks for bringing this over HK fan.

  5. turquoisewaters says:

    TLKC: ITA.

  6. milwlovesadam says:

Just woke up from a nap. Best sleep I’ve had in a week. Ceasefire on my kids ( and rs ) in Jerusalem.

    And life goes on.

So, will we be able to see that Adam in Sixty? It looks simply wonderful. Loved what he had to say, and totally agree with TLKC’s comments. Add XTina to that list. Her performance at the AMA’s was jumping onto that bandwagon as well.

  7. HK fan says:

    TLKC,
ITA too, and I got the link to work from another site, just very slow
Can’t wait to see the whole interview, I enjoy watching Adam talk as much as I enjoy watching him sing, especially in interviews like this.

  8. TLKC says:

So are we all spitting our soup at the same time? Re: straight singers – I am okay with a seriously supportive artist like Cyndi Lauper who has been championing LGBTQ rights all long (i.e. before it was trendy.)

Someone tweeted Obama today requesting that Adam sing at the Inaugural Ball. She pointed out that Adam openly supported Obama before the election. I wonder who picks the performers. There is a committee, I believe.

  9. milwlovesadam says:

Okay, no tomato tossing here, but, Gaga has had her “moments” with ladies, and says she is bisexual. Of course, she’s never had a “public” relationship with a woman. But she has kissed girls in her videos.

I just watched those VH1 ads again. I’ve yet to see them on air. I just cannot get over how the camera loves him. After all these years. He’s just divine.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been spending every waking moment with Anderson Cooper, who is also gorgeous and smart, but, alas, he’s no Adam.

  10. TLKC says:

BTW, did anyone see the little article from Finland by a reporter who tried to get Sauli’s Dad to go on the record about Sauli and Adam? He refused. The article’s title was something to the effect that “Sauli has a very good father”. His Dad did let slip that Sauli will not be in Finland for Christmas this year.

I don’t know where I saw it. Hope it wasn’t here. If it was, let me know and I will delete this post

  11. TLKC says:

Sorry mils, I like Gaga’s music and she’s a dynamite live performer but on that subject, I just don’t believe it. I’m not the only one. There are a lot of cracks about it & there is also a Twitter account “GaysAgainstGaga”

Imho (and with apologies) it’s part of her persona and her act; not really her.

  12. TLKC says:

An Adam Lambert nutcracker at Target. Some fans don’t have enough to do. Like the person posted this picture on AO. And me.

  13. turquoisewaters says:

mils: True about Gaga. Yet I don’t think she is running the same risks as Adam. The public has a very different reaction to a gay man vs a lesbian/bisexual woman. Generalizing a lot here, but I think men tend to be more uncomfortable with gay men, but okay (or even slightly fascinated by) lesbian women. Women overall tend to be more comfortable than men with gays of both genders. Is this just me thinking this?? For example, it would not occur to me to not like a female singer because she is lesbian. Yet I think only the bravest straight men admit to being fans of a gay male singer.
Adam’s willingness to talk about everything so openly puts a human face on LGBT rights. I really think he helps to move the ball foreward.

  14. turquoisewaters says:

Just noticed I have been missing many videos from Cape Town. AL posted them on the correct thread. Thanks! I am warming up to the dancers, just saying… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSgvRg0oEjY&feature=related

  15. eywflyer says:

Ok, I’ve done just about everything I can do to speed up site access short of moving to a different hosting company. If the slowness problems continue, that will have to be the next step. I’ll watch performance over the next few days to see what happens. A number of behind the scenes changes have been made regarding how the site loads, if you have problems email me via the contact site admins link.

comment under that video jlurks posted , gloriously translated :

When the Lord’s song worthy of the audience screaming, you swollen what? Motionless puppets

  18. turquoisewaters says:

…like pulling teeth… These executives or whatever they are should have sent their wives and kids, they would have had more fun.

  19. cher says:

Happy Birthday tlkc Was trying to post it early in the am but couldn’t log onto the site and jlurksacto had the same problem. Was busy all day. Hope you had a good birthday! Am still at work and will be until hopefully no later than 5:00pm tomorrow so I can spend a bit of the Thanksgiving holiday with some family and friends.
Happy Thanksgiving to all celebrating tomorrow and try not to eat too much turkey and pumpkin pie!! Razz

  20. ultimathule says:

Well – that official vid, jlurk – removed any concern I had about his voice – sounded terrific. Looked as though he was trying to wake the dead out in the audience. Wouldn’t you love to have been a fly on the wall (wherever he was) after that gig – lol.

  21. ultimathule says:

“Motionless puppets” – oh, lordy, fell on the floor at that one – so damn perfect.

    Will put in that thread.

  23. luval says:

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate. I am working today but that’s ok. Someone has to do it.

I love Pop That Lock. Thanks for that video, turquoisewaters. I, like you, am not minding the dancers so much. How they sync with adam is fascinating.

  24. HK fan says:

Happy Thanksgiving to all our American posters.

Here;s a fan vid of Trespassing from MB, it shows Adam and the band walking off at the end. Sound quality is pretty good.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jfJwqpzlyc&feature=youtu.be

Was that venue outdoors??? On the official video, when the camera pans up, it looks like only the audience is covered and the rest is open, and the floor looks wet, like it has puddles, plus the big tower in shot sometimes.

  25. HK fan says:

BTW, when watching the video I linked above, the first video link on the right hand side is of Adams Trespassing, full album, and it has 781.340 views. No wonder sales aren’t so good, everyones been listen and probably downloading the full album from here.

  26. HK fan says:

The NCOE’s video has now got over 43,000 more views than BTIKM.

  27. Calgary says:

    Happy Thanksgiving, all you USA’ers!

  28. TLKC says:

HKFan, is that the YouTube account with the “My Little Pony” videos on it? The last time I saw it, about 4 weeks back, Trespassing had clocked approximately 550,000 hits. I copied the link and sent it to AdamOfficial. Got my knuckles rapped (rightfully) for posting the link but RCA knows about it.

Hoping that RCA is going to contact all the illegal downloaders and ask them to pay-up or face prosecution. Assuming 1 in 5 is downloading thats a lot of extra $$$. (We wish!)

  29. luval says:
  30. HK fan says:

I don’t know, I didn’t click on it. Just imagine though if all those people that had listened to it, had brought it….

  31. LadyNorth says:

I loved the clip and article about Adam in Sixty. Really looking forward to the whole thing. It will probably be one of those good deep insights into Adam’s world.

And I was relieved to see the real vids of the MB happening. All the things were much better than in the stream vids. And I think nothing or no one good have made that audience to scream Wink

TLKC, happy birthday! And about your question about the short article about Sauli’s dad; I have read it, but not seen in here. Sorry, don’t know where to find it to you. But my guess (or wish) after reading that is that Adam takes Sauli with him to Bali and they’ll have a well deserved 2-week holiday Smile Let’s see if this will be true.

Everyone in U.S. have a warm and wonderful thanksgiving with your loved ones (or at an important work Luval)! And wishing all the strength for you asif! Heart Plate Chicken 2

No thanksgiving here, only nervous Finnish glamberts who won’t sleep well until they have Adam ticks. Many of them didn’t get them 2 years ago, the show was sold out immediately. Young ones are distressed if they know how to use the buying software. Crazy planning going on everywhere. Pre-parties, after-parties, international glamberts coming and joining. I am nervous not to have good seats and wondering how many ticks I buy. Who’s gonna sit (=stand and dance and sing) with me. This is partly very distressing, but also so fun and exciting Smile I have to thank the universe for sending Adam, and that I found him. Thankful for this global community too Smile

  32. asifclueless says:

I have a lot to be thankful for and all of you and Adam who brings us all here are parts of them.

Happy Thanksgiving! We at ALL have much to be thankful for in the past year: Trespassing, Queenbert, multiple great concerts, new friendships, and now, Adam doing his best to conquer the world.

Thanks also to jlurks and asif for the links to the official M-B videos. It’s amazing how much difference a professional recording makes. The “voice issues” were nothing more than crappy audio. Adam looked and sounded fabulous! That venue must have been surreal for him. He feeds so much off interaction with his band and the audience. So there he was standing on a huge stage with his band far away, a stodgy audience, and girls dancing around Mercedes SUV’s. Totally bizarre! But I have to say he did his best to wake the “motionless puppets” and gave a fine show in spite of it all. I hope they paid him very well for the effort and that he enjoyed a good Chinese style Thanksgiving dinner, Peking duck and all.

  35. Ron says:

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans! Eat Big Smile

I’ll post again the proper way to prepare a Thanksgiving turkey when Johnny Carson once asked a 5 year old boy how it should be done …

“First, you go downtown and shoot a turkey. Then, you put it in the oven and cook it for about a half-hour. Then, you check to see if it’s done. And if it isn’t done, you shoot it again”.

    Grin

    Have a wonderful day.

  36. asifclueless says:

    Adam Lambert
    @adamlambert Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

And you, too … HAVE A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!! … with your Peking turkey and all the wonderful trimmings.

Ron, that is funny. I’ll remember that.

    Grin

  37. milwlovesadam says:

mmmmmm. Peking duck. For many years we had our Thanksgiving dinner at a well-known German restaurant here. It’s pretty swanky. String quartet playing, roast duck with plum sauce, liver dumpling soup, schaum tortes, all just yum.

    Happy Thanksgiving to everybody.

I enjoyed the HD video of the MB event, but, man, he was workin’ it hard. The huge empty stage, the puppets in the audience, the mis-timings of the backing tape and the band, he had to cover a lot of space out there. Vocals were spot-on of course, but, I actually felt a little sorry for him. Talk about “singing for your supper.”

And, a vocal observation. I have noticed that for the last several months during only WWFM, he has adapted a vocal maneuver that Adele uses in Set Fire to the Rain especially. I remember him praising that song and her album quite a bit.
During the chorus toward the end of the song, when he is putting more “energy” into singing WHATTAYA he pushes his voice into a hard gravelly rough area. You need to listen closely. It’s always there lately. And then the next few phrases have a rougher quality also, while his voice is recovering from that “push.”

It was quite pronounced during this show especially. So, what’s yer point Mils? My point is that this vocal maneuver is not good for the voice. It can damage the vocal cords. I’m not sure if he is working with any vocal coaches presently. How would we ever know unless he talks about it? I would hope that a vocal coach would steer him away from that.

But, Adele blew out her voice last year, and when you listen to her voice since she came off vocal rest, she specifically does not use that particular vocal maneuver.

  38. asifclueless says:

I’ve been voting this since QAL got only 5.4/10 rate.
Now they are #2 at 8.2/10 trailing Muse 8.4/10.

    Vote … if you please.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Here’s a link to a very uplifting story about how a Delta flight and many others received help in Canada after 9/11. Let me know if the link is inaccessible, then I have to figure another way to show you. It’s been floating around, so you may have read it already, but just in case some of you haven’t:

    Hi mieps!!

    The Link works for me.

What an inspiring and uplifting article!

I of course knew of the many planes diverted to Gander but not a detailed recounting of what took place.

I just wanted to share this story because we need good stories right now.

How true and how appropriate to share it on this particular day.

    Thanks, mieps!

  41. riskylady says:

OMG They’re going to wear him out! A sixth concert added in Japan on 2/19. I know this is similar to GNT, but he didn’t do all these long hauls before. Why o why not do one large venue in Tokyo?????

  42. rs says:

The rockets have been quiet for almost 24 hours now and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everybody here for your thoughts, prayers and support to me, mils sons, and everybody in this little corner of the world. I can’t stress enough how important and heartwarming it is to us to know that there are people out there who care. So much of the Press paints such a distorted picture of the situation. Many of you have told me here and privately that knowing someone who lives here makes the situation here much more real and not just a blurb on the news. I am glad for that.

And on that note I want to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who is celebrating it today (and to everybody who celebrates it on any other day of the year). It really is a great holiday and crosses all religions and cultures. There is so much to be thankful for, even though at times we feel like we to have to dig deep to look for it. And we all owe a huge THANK YOU to our glittery boy with the golden voice and beautiful soul who brought us all together, spiced up our lives, enriched us with music and friendships, and has made this world a little smaller and friendlier, and a better place to live in.

  43. riskylady says:

And a happy and blessed Thanksgiving to all – the quintessential American holiday – time to stop and reflect on all I’ve been given.

This is, as of this moment, the quiet before the storm – everything (well, almost everything) is cooked – the crowd will be arriving any minute.

Hugs to all (and our beautiful boy).

  46. riskylady says:

luval, actually, I don’t care that much for Pitbull, but I am sort of happy he will take part. He is a huuuuge star, very popular, and I am happy for Adam to have this contact – I feel Pitbull is part of the music biz that up to now has “avoided” Adam. Here in Miami Pitbull is a god, maybe this could help Adam, and also attract some more artists to the show. It’s pretty surprising on the part of Pitbull. Wonder if they met in 2010 when Adam did the Y100 Jingleball. VH1 must have done some pretty amazing behind-the-scenes footwork for this. I was actually worried the show would get shunned because of Adam.
