OMG!!! –out of breath–{{{panting}}}. Days and days(= weeks & weeks) spent catching up with EVERYTHING on this blog since BEFORE Halloween!!!!!!!!! RL stepped in and interfered along with major computer problems both at home and at work!!!Didn’t even get to lurk. Just now finished the end of October and all of November chat and did manage to get through a great deal of CAPETOWN thread. Do you really know how much you cover?….as I recall off the top of my head I’ve been through Superstorm Sandy (glad everyone’s ok),the Election, some of Texas Tango, the uproar by that Lyndsey ?? blogger over the non-picture with Adam,Veterans Day, Capetown, Barbara Streisand, Kradamour’s mom’s thankfully successful surgery, the Vineyard (haven’t been through the thread and vids yet, though), the trips to Home Depot for the Corner Remodel,The signed yellow necktie for charity (like the Duke’s but Duke’s was from Marshall’s and Adam’s is designer quality I’m sure), the Ebay vids and rumors of Russian Concerts… and so much more!
I’m exhausted! I’ve missed you and it feels so good to catch up with you ALL and Adam!.Thank you eyeflyer for this wonderful place and it’s terrific followers. Also missed seeing some of you in Phoenix which I’d desperately wanted to attend. Maybe another time! My real dream was South Africa but that didn’t happen either.
Anyway, I’m back and lurking and happy to be so!
little duchess: Good to have you back. I’ve missed you.
PEOPLE!!! Apparently, the SA vids are giving Trespassing its bump. Yesterday it went from #160 on iTunes Pop Top 200 up to #133 today, and the WWFM video is #200 in the top 200 vids. Go figure!
Cannot wait to see if he springs some surprises for this HUGE crowd tonight. SOLD OUT!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!! *HAPPY DANCE ALL OVER THE ROOM*
Ah!!! Gorgeous, Articulate and Funny.
Yeah!!! I’m locked in.
Adam Lambert in South Africa

aww–turquoise–that’s so nice of you to say!
Just got my People magazine. No sign of Adam anywhere! Must have been an online “sexiest man from each state” thing.
eta: and Hi little dutchess! Seems like so long ago since Wilkes Barre.
welcome back Little Duchess, you’ve been missed .
such a beautiful photo.

I love the eyeliner, it makes his eyes pop so much.

Wanted to jump in here and say glad to “see” you back Little Duchess You were missed. How is the Duke?
Hot hot photo from the most recent issue of InRock, including some editing by a fan (ScorpioBert) to isolate the photos from the magazine text:

And… Sauli went to the grand opening of a new Finnish style store (Marimekko) in Beverly Hills. Check out this gorgeous pic of him!

An article about the opening, including a couple of photos of Sauli in attendance: http://finntimes.com/?p=3286
The fans seems so much younger overseas……
http://twitter.com/nella_nini97/status/269730705758646272/photo/1
great t-shirts
Love those twitter questions. South African fans are very witty. Can’t help noticing that several are about international finance law. Maybe a university study group decided to have a bit of fun?
Thanks for the debut cd rundown, riskylady. I figured Adam’s cd would easily be in the Top 20 but it looks as though it could be in the Top 10 debuts, even with a couple of Christmas cds in the offing. He is looking comparatively good YAY!
Lost my emoticon buttons or I’d do a happy dance.
Thanks HKfan and glambotgram: Thanks for your “welcome backs” I missed everyone too. The Duke is fine and looking for a reason to wear another yellow tie he bought! We need some LIVE Adam!
HKfan ITA-the fans are younger elsewhere and those are great Tees. I’d love to have one! Oh and how are you feeling? Sound like you had/have whatever the Duke and I got in London. It just never went away totally. It wiped us out for a good while and even now some days the fatigue sets in. Of course, we’re a lot older then you and maybe not quite so able to fight off the bug so easily. Feel better soon!
Adam and band on safari today and Brian is now at the pool. Wonderful photo’s of a lion and a giraffe coming right up to their van. http://t.co/C8TEQJq1
So sorry to hear that you and the duke are still fighting that bug little duchess. It threw me for a loop, too. I love that the two of you are so into Adam together and am in great hopes of seeing that yellow tie in person some time soon.
BTW, an interesting article about Chad Kroeger of Nickelback and how he has master-minded his band to wealth and stardom. The most informative part is towards the end where they discuss the mathematics of touring, the average cost of a production, venue sizes, ticket prices and return on investment.
http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/music/article/1289263–nickelback-s-chad-kroeger-genius-deal-with-it
NPR did an item on Nickelback a couple of days ago. Scorned by critics and the industry but making buckets of money.
I totally don’t “get” the music industry today. I guess the key is that the emphasis is on “industry” and not “music”; production rather than inspiration.
On the other hand, Adam seems to be doing quite well for himself! with a busy schedule and the love of everyone who meets him. Forging his own way, making his own success, and having a great time doing it.
Compare to Bieber who is not transitioning well into adulthood, Taylor Swift who is becoming known as much for her failed lovelife as for her music, and any number of other music personalities who don’t seem to be enjoying their careers nearly as much as Adam does.
I have decided to renounce all angst on Adam’s behalf. Totally unnecessary; our boy will have a lot to be thankful for on Thursday.

RL is a bitch. Both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv hav become targets for terrorist rockets from Gaza (in addition to the Southern cities and villages). More than 800 rockets have been fired into Israel in the last 4 days.
Can’t even calm myself by losing myself in Adam’s music. I was listening to music, didn’t hear the air raid siren, and didn’t get down to the bomb shelter yesterday.
Kradamour my sentiments exactly! Well said (as usual!) Bravo!
TLKC…what a great article. I will admit I do not like Nickelback music but now I have much respect for Chad Kroeger.
On the radio in my car this morning they played 3 Bieber connected songs. Baby Baby, the new one with Minaj and one other one…all within one hour. Horrible.
rs I am so sorry for what is going on in your part of the world right now and have you in my prayers. I can’t even imagine your world right now.
rs I will keep your family and friends in my prayers and hope that peace will be forthcoming. I also will be praying for mils and her sons that they are safe and taken care of. It must be terrifying to have family members in harms way.
rs, I’ve been thinking about you and just too afraid to ask. I can’t even imagine living in fear of one bomb let alone a constant shower of them. Please take care of yourself and be as careful and as safe as you can. I hope the bomb shelter isn’t too far away from you.

TLKC , the shelter is in the basement of my apartment building. We have a minute and a half from the time that the siren sounds until the rocket reaches. There was just one rocket aimed at Jerusalem and it fell to the South of the city yesterday. The thing is that now that it is a possibility, the level of tension has just gone through the roof. I have lived here through two gulf wars and Jerusalem was never attacked. We never thought that they would attack this city since it is holy to the Moslems, too, and aside from the Mosques, there is just as much of a chance of hitting their own people as hitting Israelis (and they don’t have bomb shelters or secured rooms). But Hamas doesn’t care and they see any Arab civilian who is hurt as a martyr to their cause.
Thank goodness for the Iron Dome, the anti rocket system that the US is helping us pay for. It shoots down 80% of the rockets before they land. Two hours after it was made operational today in the Tel Aviv area it shot down a rocket that was headed for the center of the city. (No iron dome over Jerusalem)
I am very glad for the anti-rocket system and wish they would extend it. Feeling like such a puny little creature weakling here in Toronto, when everyone else is matter-of-factly dealing with bombs and floods and long term loss of power.
Strange how a common interest brings the headlines home to you simply because you are connected with people all over the world. I have never given much thought to anti-rocket systems and now I am wondering how much they cost and whether the US will work on one for Jerusalem.
The anti rocket system is Israeli made, but very, very expensive and Israel couldn’t afford to make and buy them herself. So the US helped (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Dome)
rs – saw vids of the Iron Dome in action – very impressive. The war against Israel is nothing new, but seems to be heating up. The entire area – especially Syria – is extremely unstable. Yes – thoughts are with you.
Thoughts are with you too, rs. Am a news junkie and keep one of my tv’s on CNN all the time.
rs, mils and sons, and any lurkers who are living the madness in the middle east…it is one thing for my son to be in Afghanistan, in harm’s way – he chose that. But no civilian should ever have to live under such precarious circumstances, fearing for the safety of oneself and one’s family.

I have spent the day with my teeth clenched in anger.
Women are not doing this. Until the time that women have a larger voice in government (and what passes for government in anarchic states), men will continue to be driven by testosterone and act in dangerous and illogical ways and place the world and our families at risk. IMHO.
Little dutchess and Krad, nice to see you both back. rs, worried and praying for you and the whole country that this doesn’t lead to war. This a.m. the Herald said the Arab Spring has revealed more open support for the Palestinians and that could be behind this aggressive boldness. *sigh*
I have to believe the SA vids are still giving Trespassing a bump, it has moved up some more on iTunes from #133 to #118.
I don’t check other sites like Walmart, Barnes & Noble, Amazon but iTunes is sort of a barometer, so some sales are steadily happening. And we know that Trespassing the song has jumped up again on the Hot Singles and moving up the Hot Dance Singles charts. YAY!
cwm, loved the pic and article about Sauli. He really is gorgeous.
little dutchess, welcome back! I have missed you!
HEY, I JUST NOTICED THAT MY BUTTONS ARE BACK!!!

Little Dutchess, you must have brought them!
eywflyer, the site is definitely faster today, don’t know what you did but THANKS!!
Btw, are you going to list the Dec. 2nd Hennessey event in China? Should be very interesting.
And, I posted in the planning thread – hubby and I are going to San Francisco and need some suggestions on hotels, etc. Who else is going?
Well now we know!
AMEN Kradamour. We were talking about voting at work and How we choose whom to vote for, especially in races we may not be well versed in. My method, right or wrong, if I do not have a knowledgeable preference, I vote for the woman. I figure men have had long enough to screw things up.
In all fairness, I guess I should say that there have certainly been and are women who have acted in destructive ways – Catherine the Great comes to mind, as well as some women in and on the fringe of current politics.
And there are definitely wonderful men who have held and are holding power.
But overall, I tend to do the same as you when I vote, glambotgram.
On a totally other note, I just realized that my son’s school colors are black and yellow.

The whole campus is trespassing.
rs: I’m thinking of you. Please be as safe as possible. I too am pretty fed-up with places that are run by a group of power-greedy old men with utter disregard to the well-being of their own population, and especially the women in their population. Has anyone read “Half the Sky” by Kristof? Very upsetting.
Thanks for your thoughts everyone. Going to bed now and hoping for a quiet night.
riskylady: posted some info on the planning thread re San Francisco.
rs, sending prayers you’re way. Cannot begin to imagine what you’re life must be like right now. Take care.
kradamour, my kids school sports clothes are black and yellow too, and they all play for a rugby team whose colours are black and yellow….
I read this someplace, “If women ruled the world there would be no more wars, only angry countries not speaking to each other.” Not sure thats true but hate whats going on now in the middle east. More great news, my daughter has received an invitation from President and Mrs Obama to attend a Holiday reception at the White House. She’s going of course and is wondering how a middle aged gal from small town Iowa got such an honor. I think it was hard work and intelligence and great attitude that endeared her to many. This mom is proud.
Jojosie, that is AMAZING!

Yes, I think that a big old scoop of “proud” is totally called for. Congratulations on raising a fine woman with talents that deserve such recognition.
rs I’ve been thinking about you the past few days as the news of what was happening became known here. I am so sorry things have escalated to the point they have for you in Jerusalem. You’re in my prayers. Please be well and stay safe! I plan on meeting up with you again at an Adam concert…maybe Queenbert USA?
http://popledge.co.uk/2012/11/17/video-and-photos-adam-lambert-in-south-africa-cape-town-cover/
Check out the last sentence.
Yes – men are a mixed bag – but so are women. Wouldn’t want one sex ruling the world.
Camille Paglia, the lesbian/feminist/anti-feminist wrote:
“If civilization had been left in female hands, we would still be living in grass huts.”
It’s the concentration of one sex in power that’s the problem.
Hi everybody, thanks for your kind wishes. RS, please stay safe. I’m a nervous wreck. My only children are both in Jerusalem. I have emailed and spoken with them many times today. They are safe so far. Hubby’s family is near an area where several rockets have landed, as close as one block away. They were in their shelter/safe room a few times in the last few days. We have several friends who have kids there for a year of study or service work as a “gap year.” Everybody’s on edge. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Your good wishes are more helpful than you can ever know.
The “distraction” of this blog and Adam are coming in quite handy. Although I’m too on edge to have corner moments at the present. Too bad, the pool was just about done.
Jojosie, you know from our earlier email, how very proud I am of you and your daughter. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
“as you’ve never seen him before”? Whut?
When does THAT one come out?
“””Be prepared to see Adam as you’ve never seen him before”””
In drag? ( It’s been done, but a really long time ago)
Blonde? ( Surprise for some )
Shirtless???
or
NAKED?????
Like the pics of Adam Levine?
Okay. I can still muster up the energy for the corner.
mils I had forgotten that your boys were in Jerusalem studying. You and they are in my thoughts and prayers. May they be safe.
jojosie How amazing and what an honor for your daughter to be going to meet the President! She certainly must deserve it and her efforts were recognized. Another proud moment for her and her mom!
