November finds Adam starting out the month with a rather exclusive gig at “Live in the Vineyard” in Napa, California, followed later on in the month by his first concerts in South Africa. Recent information hints that these concerts could be the unofficial start of a potential upcoming Trespassing tour, but we’ll have to wait and see about that.

Had a hard time finding a good photo this month – I’m not a fan of the Glampire pix this year so had to look for other pics. Eventually decided on a slightly pensive look for Adam, from the Arizona State Fair concert. Hope you like it.

Enjoy the chat!

Got my remix EP – Pop that Lock still my favorite.

  2. turquoisewaters says:

ultimathule: great observations. I love these little details as well, often more than the real obvious shenanigans. Like the little hand movement in BE that imitates the melodie. (Heck I even get a kick out of him adjusting the mic stand.) I wonder how conscious he is of these things.

Watched Anthony Bourdain this afternoon in Bali. Made me think of someone….

Love Adam’s hand movements in his quiet acoustic sets. He is just so expressive…. with his hands….

Crap. I’m back in the corner.

  6. aely says:

The rumor mill is saying that Adam might be announcing that he is part of VH 1 Divas 2012 concert that will be televised on 12/16 (my bday!) saluting Whitney Houston.

I was hoping for a tour update but, this is cool too.

  9. LadyNorth says:

Wow, that’s interesting Smile Glamberts are damn good at creating and finding rumor mills…

I’m probably stupid but what this 10/9c means?

Adam just tweeted this photo – maybe it’s posted before but deserves the second look, definitely!

GAH I am hoping for a tour announcement too. I don’t even know what VH1 Divas is.

ETA OK I looked it up, I have really never heard of this. This was on the VH1 Divas site.

Keep your eyes peeled while you’re watching VH1 this weekend, for we’ll be revealing the very first teaser video during one of your favorite shows. Until then, though, feast your eyes on this amazing new piece of promo art for this year’s show. Get ready to DANCE!

  12. LadyNorth says:

Thanks ulti Smile But probably a.m.? They talked about morning. Good nite from here!

  13. aely says:

I am trying not to read to much into this but Shoshanna tweeted right after the tweet about VH 1….

    I am VERY excited.

    Then the tweet

    Wembley. With a surprise visitorWink

Really it could be anything or nothing at all to do with Adam but…..let the speculation begin.

  14. Soccermom says:

Yes – the VH1 Morning Buzz Live is a morning show.

  15. glambotgram says:

aely Shoshanna said later that she was at Wembley today. Not talking about Adam.

  16. aely says:

Thanks! Just so hoping for a tour. Not that I thought he could sell out Wembley but was thinking a multi act concert as part of the tour….wishful thinking.

  17. glambotgram says:

Pretty sure the surprise visitor was Usher

  19. milwlovesadam says:

    So. Here’s a random thought.

The arrangements of the songs at Napa were so fantastic. He looked and sounded unbelievable. VH1 was there. Who else knows who was there.

Not only were the arrangements for Chokehold and Broken English different, but he sang them in lower registers.

We know he worked with a voice coach before GN to do exactly that. Lower the register for voice preservation reasons.

I think he was trying them out at Napa with an excellent response.

    Trying them out….

    Before world-wide domination.

  20. glambotgram says:

I was listening to Q+A at work today and I can’t seem to help myself every time I hear “Got a dragon on my back” I substitute “Got a badger in my pants” I won’t go to the corner cause I haven’t got out yet. Devil

  22. glambotgram says:

HK fan that is a good article. It needs to go to all radio station owners. Thanks for posting.

  23. Kradamour says:

This comment to the Byron Cooke article:
“Go back to allowing djs to play what they like. A lot of great acts used to be discovered because some random dj heard a song and wanted to share it. That’s what music IS, and that’s how it WORKS.

Some programming is fine, but when programmed is all radio is…it will only become less and less relevant and die a well-earned death. ”

Make/allow the DJ be something other than a technician…presumably the DJ has access to all the stuff that is sent to the radio…my uncle was a DJ way back in the day, and what he loved about his job was finding new music and putting it on the radio.
Newness, excitement…I’d love to turn on the radio and hear random new stuff “tried out” between the expected. I’d even turn on the radio…

I just posted on that article.

  25. Calgary says:

I’m thinking y’all might enjoy Jian Ghomeshi’s intro to Q on CBC this morning, some interesting observations on your election. The whole show is about it.

Thisis an audio clip – I hope it works!

  26. ultimathule says:

Doesn’t sound like him, but there’s something about Cody Belew on The Voice tonight that brought Adam to mind.

  27. ultimathule says:

The four Madison Square Garden concerts that Elvis did in 1972 are being released in a deluxe CD/DVD, titled “Prince From Another Planet.”

  28. LadyNorth says:

HK fan thanks, that was a good article! I read the comments too and recognized some familiar avis Smile Good points, as all the comments to the article.

I don’t know much about radio policy here, but I saw a link yesterday to some national radio charts. Trespassing song was number one this week in that particular radio station, and among all the commercial stations together the 8th most played during past week. Not bad at all Smile But whatever the song is, I think it’s not good to play same songs too much. It can turn against itself, people become overdozed. I vote for variety…

  29. TLKC says:

Thanks for posting Jian Gomeshi’s tribute to America, Calgary. It was very moving and points to the powerful and encouraging sea change that is happening in the US. It’s so positive and it set my heart singing.

AMERICA IS A GREAT COUNTRY, and no less so because it’s diverse citizenry takes a little longer to develop critical mass support for new ideas.

Thinking about rs’s memories of the 60’s and how deep the unrest and violence was, it makes me happy that today change, no less revolutionary, is happening at the ballot box and is being effected by ordinary people in such a constructive and peaceful fashion. the way it was supposed to happen.

I love Jian. He just wrote a very funny memoir which pivots on the fact that, as a teen, he was a huge fan of Freddie Mercury and Queen. He has interviewed Adam twice and both conversations have been interesting and thoughtful. I told him I saw Queen this summer and, after a short talk, he autographed my copy of his book “To a Killer Queen.”

  30. TLKC says:

I love the Pop That Lock remix, too, ultimathule. I haven’t downloaded it yet because it will put me over the top on paying for the remixes and am letting the ones I’ve downloaded stand as singles for a bit longer.

Not a remix fan but I love all of the T remixes as well as PTL and have started playing that at the gym. Haven’t received my hard copy of the cd yet and am a bit worried because I received a shipping notice over a week ago.

I think mils is on to something. Maybe the softer slower Adam at Napa was intended for the anticipated audience but it could be the start of a new initiative. I still think that the new version of Chokehold might be for a reason. Pop radio isn’t playing Adam but WWFM was a massive hit on HAC. Maybe a shift in focus in 2013?

  31. TLKC says:

See y’all later. One hour and 26 minutes ’til the announcement Smile

NEW YORK (AP) — “VH1 Divas” will be getting some testosterone this year: Adam Lambert is joining in.

Lambert will host and perform at the Dec. 16 event in New York City. Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland, Jordin Sparks and Ciara will also hit the stage at the special honoring dance music and its current and classic divas.

Tributes to Whitney Houston and Donna Summer are also planned.

Lambert said in a statement Thursday the show will be “the most fabulous concert of the year.”

“VH1 Divas” will benefit VH1′s Save the Music Foundation. The venue for the event hasn’t been announced. The show will air live at 9 p.m. Eastern.

It is suppose to be the largest theatre in America!

The Academy Awards have been broadcast from the Shrine many times.

  45. ultimathule says:

Nice big thread over at MJs.

  46. Ron says:

Let the speculation begin … Grin

The broadcast begins with a dignified and enthusiastic voice over introduction: “Ladies and gentlemen, Adam Lambert”!! and he walks onto the stage

    or …

The curtain goes up to find Adam singing a big production number, a specially written song, spotlighting all of the diva’s performing that night ending with one of those notes that only Adam can sing leaving the audience and viewing members cheering and breathless.

    ROTFL

(I think that is called a run on sentence) Wink

TLKG, just one comment and then enough of politics and I can flail about Adam hosting and performing with the divas, just where he belongs. In my day, before the 1968 elections, we worked within the system to get our people on the ballot. The tear gas came from the police after peaceful demonstrations against Dow chemicals who produced napalm and were recruiting on campus. I was a witness to police brutality and it was frightening. Things changed after Nixon got in, Laos came, and the fringes went underground and got violent. In my senior year we closed down the campus in support of a Black Student’s Strike. Enuf said about the topic.

  48. TLKC says:

It’s an honour and a recognition of Adam’s multi-talented nature but I can’t stop the the little voice whispering please, please, let him sing or duet on just one song – maybe in one of the tributes. Sigh.

  49. ultimathule says:

Think Jordin’s a superb singer, too – better than Miley or Demi by far. She’s also gorgeous on stage – my granddaughter and she look very much alike – Jordin could be her big sister. Olivia’s nine and 5’4″ – her dad’s way over six feet. Can’t sing though – lol.

  50. Oksana2000 says:

TLKC, Adam said that he will perform. It would be an obvious waste of his talent if he didn’t.
