April was an exciting month, to say the least – news of sold-out Rock-in-Rio concert – great articles in Attitude and Notion magazines – many interviews – Ghost Town single and video release – and lots of angsting over Shazam/Spotify/iTunes/YT and how best to promote Adam, along with the “whistle” question – whodunit? This month may see Adam performing GT live on TV and moving his way up the radio charts. Should be a busy time before the album release on June 16!

    Regarding the multi-CD purchasing Glambert you bumped into – this is a good time to bring up CD purchasing strategies. Multiple CD purchases on the same transaction definitely count in terms of sales BUT radio is only interested in tracking the number of purchasers.

    TPTB use “basket analysis” to isolate how many people liked something enough to actually make the purchase. If you buy the same item for 5 people it is assumed that you are sharing your enthusiasm rather than purchasing for 5 people who actually like it.

    If plan on buying multiple CD’s and want to achieve maximum impact, buy them individually.

    Did everyone know that Nate Ruess’s new CD is releasing on June 16th too? Yikes! I read somewhere that his CD is only available through his website. If true then we can’t really guess at how well it is doing.

    There is a notice on his website that the first 900 CD’s will get an autographed copy. Would they keep that up on the site after the first 900 had been sold?

    I know they are in completely different genres but their singles are winding their way up the same charts.

    Don’t have a link but I got my TV Guide today & here’s what Fox Entertainment chairman Gary Newman says about Idol.CSI is mentioned too.

    I read somewhere recently that she was making a half million dollars a month through Spotify, so goodness knows how much more she is able to make on her own.

    They asked the challenger if he would have known the answer and he said yeah he is all AHHHHHHH( in a high voice) and he is pretty flamboyant. LOL

    I guess I missed your post, HK Fan. I’ve been doing some digging and Nate’s CD does not appear to be available on iTunes or Amazon etc. If the “autographs on first 900 CD’s” offer is still up, then perhaps the sales are slow.

    He has 18,300 followers on Twitter. His band has 681,000 followers.

    Fun’s facebook page has pretty much the same number of likes as Adam’s does.

    His first single, “Nothing Without Love”, has been out since the end of February and it has nearly 4.1 million plays on his official YouTube account. GT hits are moving up a faster pace.

    Nate’s single is 20 on the HAC chart, down 5 spots from last week. It is not on the Top 40 as far as I can see.

    Nate’s had a lot of TV exposure already. Looks like Adam will be okay if he continues to get TV bookings for the 2nd week of June.

    Hi ALL! In Pittsburgh for the weekend so I’m not caught up at all! I got a text today from my sister who went with me to see AFL in AC for the Glam Nation Tour. She says “2 more adam lambert hits out? Any good?” The fact that she knows about this means word is getting around to the general public and that’s very encouraging!!
