April was an exciting month, to say the least – news of sold-out Rock-in-Rio concert – great articles in Attitude and Notion magazines – many interviews – Ghost Town single and video release – and lots of angsting over Shazam/Spotify/iTunes/YT and how best to promote Adam, along with the “whistle” question – whodunit? This month may see Adam performing GT live on TV and moving his way up the radio charts. Should be a busy time before the album release on June 16!

    Maybe when the album comes out. He needs to be on multiple popular magazines at one time! Smile I want to see that face when I’m checking out at the grocery store.

    I’m kinda sad to see American Idol go. Never thought I’d say that.

    I didn’t start watching until Season 8, and that was only because I was pressured by family members. The advertisements for the show always kept me from watching. I’m not into public humiliation, and had no interest in watching the show make fun of certain contestants.

    But when my sister came to town and didn’t want to miss the hometown contestant (Matt Giraud) I sat through it. It was Michael Jackson week. I was bored to tears by the whole show…except when Adam performed. Wow! I was hooked. I think Adam brought out the best in all of the contestants that year.

    Everyone always talked about Paula, but in rewatching her critiques of Adam, she always seemed right on point with him. Simon wasn’t as bad as I thought he would be either, but I did get tired of him saying how the audience at home would be throwing their TV’s out the window. I’m not that drastic. I’d just change the channel if I didn’t like it! And Randy…from DAY ONE he KNEW that Adam was special.

    It’s been hard to root for anyone after that season. I hated it when the judges became cheerleaders and everyone was “in it to win it!” No constructive criticism given, everyone was wonderful. If Mariah and Nikki had been on one more season, it would have been without me. I still think I deserve a medal for sitting through their season.

    I like the current judges, especially Harry, and Keith too. I just can’t believe the contestants we get to see are the best out of all of those people who try out for the show.

    I was happy with Nick winning this year. In a way he reminded me of Adam. No you can’t compare the voice, stage presence, energy, or performances. But I think it’s because of where he’s at in his life–older than many of the contestants, lots of experience,trying to make a music career, needing exposure and refining. I guess I wanted to see him get a chance to make it.

    I’m very sad to see American Idol go. But it will really hit me in the fall when they start advertising for the final show in January.

    Agree with pretty much all you said, Ellessay.

    eta: I thought the finale was pretty entertaining last night (except for Pitbull & Chris Brown)
