Adam-iHeartMay2014

Alas, Adam’s time on Glee is over (for this year) but he did find other things to keep himself (and his band) busy in April: a few well-paying private gigs. May (the month not the guitarist) won’t be a month for that though since it is getting to be crunch time and rehearsals begin for the Queen and Adam Lambert Summer Tour 2014. Only a few weeks away now!

    luval I’m disappointed that Queenbert wont appear with Caleb on Idol finale, but I really do think that they’d be mismatched. Caleb’s voice doesn’t meld with Queen’s style, and he’d be totally eclipsed by Adam’s stage abilities.

    I do think it’s pretty dumb of the Idol mgmt. for teaming him with Kiss though; poor guy has pretty big shoes to fill after Adam’s superlative performance with them.

    I’ve despised Gene Simmons ever since then after his obnoxious comments about Adam in subsequent interviews – such an egotistical jerk Teeth !

    luval – While I agree it wouldn’t make sense to copy the season 8 finale, I’m not ready to give up on the idea of Q&A as a surprise guest. As angelowal said, the Q&A with Caleb pairing wouldn’t really work too well. Plus they have already shown that they aren’t afraid of redoing the same songs (Titanium, for example). From a marketing and branding perspective, I just CAN NOT FATHOM IDOL NOT CAPITALIZING ON ADAM as the perfect Idol Dream-Come-True Story: Boy sings Queen song at audition, gets to perform with them at finale, they are so impressed, they start doing more and more gigs with him, culminating in this tour with him as the front man for the band he idolizes. Especially after Seacrest’s vote that showed Adam was the #1 former contestant of Idol. What a fantastic opportunity to showcase what sets Idol apart from all the other shows!

    With all the people they’ve announced for the Idol Finale, it seems less and less like that Queen and Adam will perform….but then why that comment on that Idol gif????
    I’m glad he’s not going to sing with Caleb…but Kiss, urghh,agree with angelowal about them…was never a fan anyway. Their act hasn’t changed for about 40years!!!

    But I’m keeping a little bit of hope going that they will be performing in their own right for all the reasons that sparkle said..

    For all the reasons sparkle gave, I think Idol would want Q+A there next week. Their ratings are terrible, Queen is a group that appeals to their key TV demographic and Queen fans who tune in would see Caleb, who may be the winner. It would also be a heart-warming and powerful full circle moment, which is key to getting AI 14’s contestants out to the auditions this summer. (The Voice is cutting into the available crop of contestants and it really showed with this year.)

    It isn’t likely that TBTB are clueless about how much of a credit Queen+Adam is to the Idol brand. I bet you anything they asked Brian and Roger. The real issue is whether Brian and Roger care to do it. With ticket sales at 80-90% sold, it’s just not necessary. (In my heart of hearts I believe that Adam WOULD LOVE to do it, which is another reason why I want it.)

    This doesn’t preclude Adam being on next week, which I would really like to see because it would maintain his performance streak. He’s been on every year since season 8. It could still happen, just not with Queen.

    I liked the little snippets they played of Jena’s and Alex’s singles last night. Caleb’s was disappointing. I will give them all a proper listen today.

    Not terribly committed to either of the Top 2 for the win. It would have been the same if Alex was still there. Not a lot of craft or passion this year.

    I agree with everything sparkle said, but I don’t think we’ll see Adam on the Finale – surely they’d already be promoting the heck out of his appearance if it was so?

    Maybe, maybe not. What’s Fox’s highest rated show at the moment? We know it’s not Idol so it wouldn’t make sense to advertise it there. If there’s some season finale or other event on Sunday night, maybe that’s when they advertise it.
