After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

Our featured photo for this month’s chat comes from Adam’s mini-concert of April 26th on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

It’s going to be an exciting month as we begin the Trespassing era, enjoy the chat!

I think that there is a reason that the “insiders” are ignoring Adam. He is the real deal. He sings live, he doesn’t need auto-tune, he gives real interviews, as per the article mentioned up-thread. He can do everything that most of them can’t do, and that is threatening…. P!nk is the real deal, but what happened there? She gave Adam a throwaway song and he used it to get a Grammy nomination. So unless they are totally confident in themselves (and few entertainers are), since they can’t just toss him away as a reality show wannabe it is easier for them just to ignore him.

    (nods in agreement)
rs, I think that there is definitely some truth to this.

And no one who is with Adam is really “seen”; Adam is such a presence that anyone who is with him fades a bit. No star wants to have its shine dimmed…

And, unfortunately, Adam has become known for some fairly outrageous things, including a recent night in jail – and it may well be that people who do not know much more about him will be concerned about being tarnished by acquaintance.

But no question that Adam has scary-amazing skilz. Many other current performers do, as well: Bruno Mars, Pink, Rihanna, Adele, Jesse J, etc.

But for those who don’t, the intimidation factor is likely very real. Adam raised the bar and many won’t be able to jump it, and consciously or unconsciously won’t be able to embrace the man who raised it..
I think that this is very common in every field, and from the caliber of posts on this blog, and those of you I have met in person, I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that some of us have also faced this in our own fields and professions. Initiative (beyond a certain point) is often perceived as a threat by those who are content with the status quo, or fearful of a challenge they are not sure of meeting.

kradamour and rs, so so true.

Funny story regarding “gifting” of the CD. I seem to always have a CD in my car ready to be given to anyone willing to take it. This past weekend I had to run out to Best Buy and get a replacement since I was a little too lucky in passing along the ones I had. Good news was that BB only had four deluxe left and about six regular.

I didn’t want to renew my stock with too many copies since the drop this week is likely to be significant and he will need a bit of a boost from those of us who didn’t buy tons in the first go round.

And I hope you set the reviewer straight and offered to write him an article on your next AL adventure!

I haven’t been online much in the last 2 weeks but it all looks very exciting for Adam and for you guys! I asked but couldn’t find Trespassing in the Charles deGaulle airport this morning.
Will buy my CDs when I get home.

sparkle I’m always in awe of those who have creative talents. Your daughter’s bracelets sound interesting and it sounds like she got these skills from you. Whatever you’re willing to do/make sounds interesting. I’d be up for getting one and wearing it.

as for YELLOW I actually like it and am dark complected enough (Italian descent) to wear it ok although I have very little in my wardrobe.

Hoping somebody will have an audio byte of Slash mentioning Adam on Stern. Please!!

Slash was on Fallon last night and awesome. His new CD dropped today. More competition for Adam.

I think that in National Harbor, it will be darkish outside and yellow glowsticks could be awesome. Smile

Just got reviews from teen granddaughter and Cuban daughter-in-law:
    Teen: Loved whole album
Daughter-in-law: Just OK with first half (not into dance music that much), LOOOOVED dark half. Song that REALLY GETS TO HER (surprising to me): OOL
Both have liked Adam, watched him on Idol, but don’t really follow him that much aside from his music.

I just love all the love he’s getting from the audiences, especially for WWFM. That enormous applause at the KTUphoria concert was really heartwarming – he looked quite taken by it.
Now, everyone wants to go with me to his concert when it comes!

So here I am in Philadelphia. Hotel is ok. Not many amenities anymore. No shower gel, soap or lotion. Good I brought my own. Am about 5 miles from the Wells Fargo Center. Doors open at 6pm. Adam is supposed to be on at 8:25pm. Most likely will leave after him. Just not interested in the rest! I was almost going to cancel this trip because, of course, Wilkes Barre came up but I thought why the hell not?

No meet and greet. Guess we better get used to the crappy scheduling. The minute you buy your ticket, a more convenient show will be announced. What to do, what to do.

  28. Kradamour says:

Guess we better get used to the crappy scheduling. The minute you buy your ticket, a more convenient show will be announced.

Or it will be easier to go to the first one (National Harbor tickets, for example, dropping to half price right after the last day to cancel the hotel without penalty, bah!)

Do other performers do this stuff to their fans??? And there is no way to even predict, since Adam criscrosses all over the fricking country!
And don’t even get me started on the presales…

BUT, luval, you will see Adam live tonight. So worth it!

Yes!!!! Worth it to see Adam! Yay for iTunes.

Funny, as I was driving here I had flashbacks of driving to GN. Still regret not going to more shows in the northeast. Really really can’t wait for the tour and am excited and curious as to what it will entail. I will always always love GN and all that it represented.

Wish I had a good camera or one of those flip cams. Am thinking about it for the tour. But nowadays so many people video that I think “why bother”?

  33. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Have a great time, luval! Can’t wait for a report – he must be giddy with excitement right now Grin

  34. Kradamour says:

But nowadays so many people video that I think “why bother”?

True, but so often it is a different perspective and the concert looks totally different. Or the person decides to come in tight for a whole song and you lose his dance steps, etc. if that is what interests you.
I was so grateful for the fan at Ste Agathe right in front of us who taped the whole concert.

ITA. that’s the most frustrating part about being an Adam fan.Never know what’s next and difficult to make plans or the right choices. THat’s why during GNT my 1st show was Atlantic City (and I’m from FL). I was trying for NYC and Foxwoods and Atlantic City ( a nice trifecta) and had talked the Duke into driving it after 1st flying in somewhere. Obviously didn’t get tix to NYC or Foxwoods so ended up with just Atlantic City. Then later, still no FL dates except the ball game, bought Atlanta and then FL opened up with a couple of dates.

And even this year with Queen.what a mess!

But luval go tonite and have a great time. They love him there at Q102!

  39. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

YIPPEE!!!! So it’s official now? So happy – still can’t believe it! What a perfect night to “be” with Adam, luval!

  40. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

little dutchess, I can empathize… my son and I flew to Kansas City for our first GN show – hubby came to airport to pick us up when we returned. As we exit the airport, there is a huge billboard with Adam’s gorgeous face surrounded by the feather collar (still one of my faves!), advertising a concert at Winstar, which is about 20 minutes from our house… Oh well, I went to that one too! (and one in Dallas, and one in Oklahoma City Blush )

  41. little dutchess says:

TexasWannaHoldEm But we all manage to adapt don’t we? But the stress is unreal.
(for the first 2 new London dates with Queen) getting up to be able to on Ticketmaster at 4amEDT and then getting GA only!!! and doing this 2 mornings in a row!)

  42. bridgette12 says:

I’m really happy for Adam, over 77,000 is really good considering the lack of radio play. Finishing first on Billboard is great, he has to be proud.

  43. loveroftalent says:

I LOVE the AOL vids! Yes Clap Music Note Smile

His voice in the interview sounds hoarse. Been singing too much

  46. ultimathule says:

Thanks, AL, for finding that Chicago item and thanks to you, Ron, putting it up in the first place – love it.

Went to Lands End and got a pale yellow T-shirt – it’s actually very nice. Got pale yellow nail polish, too (well, nails are pretty short, but wth). Then, maybe black jeans – should fit the bill – promise I won’t look like a bumblebee.

  47. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

little dutchess, IKR? I remember at the time I was literally googling mileage to all the show dates that had been announced at that time, and Kansas City was the closest. Then add in the fact that the shows were selling out so fast, and it was really, really stressful (in a very fun way, of course!). I really can’t wait for the Trespassing tour – I just know it’s going to be all kinds of awesome!

  48. riskylady says:

THIS TOO! ROTFL Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes

So even tho I dont log in on the Other Site that shall not be named, I LIKED every post about Adam being NUMber ONE!!!!!!!!
And I am LIKING every post on here too!!!!! This is so great, I was in such a crappy mood yesterday, when I thought he wouldnt get it. This is so ridiculous about someone I dont even know, or even seen in person. But I dont care, I love it, and soooo happy for Adam and all his loving fans, you guys are great! LALALALA I am happy LALALALA Sweat Eek! Clap Jump Jump Jump Handshake Hug Left Hug Right High Five!

  50. Kradamour says:

Then add in the fact that the shows were selling out so fast, and it was really, really stressful (in a very fun agonizing and nerve-wracking way, of course!).
    Frown
And add to that, the agony of stubhub…will the prices go down? will they go up? Will an amazing ticket pop up right after I buy this mediocre one…?
    aaaaaarrrrrrrgh……….
