After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

Our featured photo for this month’s chat comes from Adam’s mini-concert of April 26th on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

It’s going to be an exciting month as we begin the Trespassing era, enjoy the chat!

If we are all feeling bad, imagine what Adam must feel, unless he is more in the know than we are. It means a lot to him too, but at least he is getting to do all these concerts, and the good ones overseas, and Queen. Are we feeling down because we want to say to all the Debbie Downers, see he is doing awsome, his 15 minutes arent near up.

I’m not feeling bad as much as I’m disappointed with the first sales figures.

Much, much more important than anything else for wanting Adam to be at #1 is that he would make history. He would be the first openly gay male to ever release a CD and have it go to #1 on Billboard after its first week in release!

Here’s something positive from a poster at MJs….

    weezleToday 04:29 PM
on 5/14 when the chart was at 54.02% Carrie was at 87,000 ended with 118,274
Adele at 54.02% was 67,652 and ended at 103,303.

ETA: What she means is that Adam’s number will most likly increase, as will the others, but according to those in the know, most will track in the same positions.

  14. Miss Chaos says:

  15. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

OMG!!!!! I was so disappointed when I checked in earlier and Adam was at #5, but decided to take a quick peek and now find the news I was hoping for: NUMBER ONE, BABY!!!!!! dcglam, you’re exactly right – if a CD ever deserved #1, Trespassing is it!! So happy for Adam and can’t wait to read his next tweet!!

  16. TLKC says:

Okay now….. to answer luval’s question – it is not over. There are still 44% of distribution channels to report and so it’s still a race.

The things we don’t know: has AO reported it’s sales yet? Who else has to report? Sauli obviously knew a couple of hours ago based on his Finnish tweet, which someone just noticed. (Adam has to know the AO pre-sell figures and maybe there has been some back-channel communication between iTunes and RCA.) Pop Dust obviously knows something too.

Here’s the thing though – we are a long way from 70-80,000 so there are some pretty big unit sales to come in for all 3 artists.

I had Adele projected at 35% back-end after 2nd report which would put her at a total of 45-46,000 total. I had Carrie at a 26% back-end after 2nd report which would put her at 43,500 total. Obviously not the case, since there a lot of 60-65-70-80,000 figures being bandied about so we’ll have to sit tight. This assorted artists cd is a wild card as well.

But it’s looking good. We can sleep tonight.

  17. riskylady says:

Sauli’s tweet is about his Fault magazine issue. He links a sneak peek at one foto, and opportunity to ask him questions.
    (The foto is gorgeous.)

  18. TLKC says:

Risky Lady: my back-end projections are coming from the same figures Weezle is using. The big question is: what will Adam do on the back-end? Hard to say because we have no idea who’s reporting last. One good thing: Walmart had an autograph promo with Adam and their sales come in at the end.

The thing is both these ladies got a Mother’s Day boost last week. The week before Adele only did 77,000. Carrie only dropped 57% in her week 2, which was unusually good for a second week.

  19. Oksana2000 says:

    I TOLD YOU SO… Smile
Of course it is still not over, but at least it begins to look more like a predictions…

  20. riskylady says:

Tks, TLKC. I know nothing about how the numbers are put together, just wanted to show that they will change upwards LOL, and what you’re saying about Mother’s Day is very hopeful.

Are those below the waist tats?

    OMG

  25. TLKC says:

He certainly likes the animal prints!

ETA: talking about Adam’s shirt; NOT talking about Sauli’s below-the -waist tatts.

  26. turquoisewaters says:

Count me in as nervous… If the numbers are low, I will be blaming the choice of BTIKM as lead single. Why a meh song when you can have a stomper like Trespassing? I know BTIKM has its merits and its fans, but I don’t think it is exciting enough for a lead single. So here I sit worrying. Sweat Big Frown Sweat

  27. josephine says:

Great News!!!!!!!! Keep it coming——think those are shadows on Sauli’s belows but he looks beautiful!!!!!!!

  28. josephine says:

That didn’t come out right????? I meant below the waist Question Question

Sauli is HAWT!! I have to say that Adam has a good taste as usual..

Haha, I was so late.. that’s what happens when kid issues emerge in the middle of posting. Feeling better already!

  31. Ron says:

This is from PopStar: KISS Review

Glambert Alert: Adam Lambert, who is in the midst of a whirlwind promo tour for his new album “Trespassing,” stopped in for a set that started with the title track off the new record. The song was clearly designed as a get-off-your-ass-and-dance anthem, and seemed to inspire just that. During “Kickin’ In” Lambert was doing some shakin’ of his own as he gyrated his way into the hearts of an audience who, for some outside of his sizeable fan base, have had limited exposure to his many, uh, assets. As an added bonus, he produced one of his killer power notes at the end of the song that left his Glam Nation (and some newly inducted fans) wonder-struck.

After another newbie off the album called “Shady,” the singer slowed it down for an acoustic version of “Whataya Want From Me” off of his debut album For Your Entertainment, then delivered a pitch-perfect performance of his latest single “Never Close Our Eyes.” He ended the set with what is sure to be another dance-floor fave called “Cuckoo.” As live performers go, Lambert is among the elite.

  32. luval says:

He must have had his hair done this morning before the lunch. It was much darker last night. Don’t want him tooooo blonde! By Friday it should have grown an inch.

I did a Search last night on my cable guide for Adam Lambert, and was happily surprised to find he’s scheduled to be on Bravo TV’s Watch What Happens Live this Thursday, May 24th at 11 PM/10 Central. Also on the show that night will be Beth Ditto. She is listed on Wikipedia as an […]

Good evening, I have a slow but usable connection at the moment, just finished a very nice dinner with the parents in a very remote area of western NC.

Thrilled to see the HDD update obviously. I should have kept quiet after the first update earlier as obviously I didn’t know what I was talking about, when we have some folks here like TLKC that do.

Heading back to the house now thru cell dead zones, talk to y’all in a bit.

Those TALC Videos are just amazing.

The scroll at the bottom of E mentions tweets from Pink and one of the Jonas brothers about all the lipsyncing on last night’s Billboard Music awards and something to the effect of “when are we going to hear live music”?

Those TALC Videos are just amazing.

I just finished watching all of them. In “Cuckoo”, at the 6 minute 30 second mark! That note!! No wonder it was singled out in the review!

luval, have a FANTASTIC time tomorrow with Adam!!! I forgot to ask you if anyone else from here is going to be there with you?!

  50. Kradamour says:

This is a really interesting article, written by our music reviewer. It is a fairly bitchy commentary about the lack of access to many performers and the canned interviews that are not really interviews, just a handler “interviewing” the performer while the journalists are allowed to listen in.

The obvious comparisons with Adam and his interviews are striking. I hope the author gets to interview Adam some day. He is a real journalist, not just a hack who writes music reviews, and I think Adam would enjoy the process as much as we would enjoy the result!
