After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

Our featured photo for this month’s chat comes from Adam’s mini-concert of April 26th on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

It’s going to be an exciting month as we begin the Trespassing era, enjoy the chat!

OMG>..imo this billboard interview was the best I have EVER heard. It was just amazing. Hope it gets on youtube quick.

The interviewer was wonderful so much was covered…Adam was his usual witty funny, intelligent self. The questions were excellent. Some funny tweets. One from “respecttheGB”. Adam did not flinch when the interviewer said it! A tweet was asked about the three things Adam would take out of his house if a fire and he imitates Sauli! I laughed out loud!

I hope everyone takes the time to listen. It was about 45 minutes. Just the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. luval says:

rs….I am just in awe by this guy. You did not have enough “o”‘s in your soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo great!!!

haha BTIKM video is in a loop now at billboard.

  6. Ron says:

rs, I’m soooooooooooooo glad you got to see something!!! Wink

I missed all of it. I await YouTube. Big Smile

  7. eywflyer says:

Awesome interview – one of the best we have seen with Adam. I love it when he gets good questions and has the time for his long articulate answers. So honest – what other celeb is like that?

The Sauli imitation was priceless – hopefully someone got this stream on video!

  8. ultimathule says:

I didn’t move for 45 minutes – amazing what that man can do to me. Magician.

  9. luval says:

That interview was terrific & I’m going to e-mail Billboard.

I love the talk about the gay gay gay gay situation he always has with interviews (am talking to you Chelsea Handler), since we here have discussed it so much.

I really can’t wait to hear the interview again!!

  10. rs says:

Ron, Sorry you didn’t see it. The video quality was perfect.

But more important, well maybe not more, but just as important, you got the score wrong for that AfterElton review. It is 4.5/5 not 4/5 like you wrote. Even better!

Final album score: 4.5 out of 5. Werk, bitch!

  12. luval says:

nkd…did you find the source of the Jacket & Pants? You are good at that. Smile

  13. nkd says:

The interview is being uploaded, but it’s large so will take a while.
It was really really good! I love when he gets to talk.

I got my box set earlier today! So good.
I was hoping that the red picture was included and it is on the back of the lyric sheet inside the lp. I was so excited, like a kid at Christmas!

  14. Ron says:

I’m very happy to be wrong! Big Smile That’s great! Thanks rs.

I’m seeing a pattern where reviewers are citing the two single’s as the weakest songs. Neutral

  15. nkd says:

No luval I haven’t found it yet.

  16. rs says:

I’m seeing a pattern where reviewers are citing the two single’s as the weakest songs.

AfterElton didn’t like NCOE much but they gave BTIKM 5 “eyes”!

  17. ultimathule says:

MJ closed the comment thread for Adam’s appearances. That Kaya Burke(?) quoted something (without a link) from Toronto Sun saying album not so good. Googled TS, but couldn’t find it, but did find article by a Darryl Sterdan saying that it was horrifying that Adam was singing with Queen – that they should have just retired. Wonder if same guy.

  18. luval says:

A couple of the casual listeners at work LOVED NCOE at first listen. And I still love BTIKM.

  19. ultimathule says:

Yes – there does seem to be a pattern with the two songs. But, after listening to the CD twice, for me they appear to blend in OK – just not my faves.

    Shady is addictive.

  20. Ron says:

You didn’t find it ulti because it doesn’t exist! There is no review in the Toronto Sun for Trespassing.

  21. asifclueless says:

Adam was seen at this Patricis Field NYC yesterday.
    The pants are bleached Jeans

  22. little dutchess says:

Ok, so he’s got the pants too! I personally hope we never see them on him together!

AMEN. Love them separately but no way together!

Still waiting on– is it YOU nkd— to find the jacket and the cost somewhere on line. Come on girl!

  23. Ron says:

“Trespassing” now at #7 with an UP arrow on Amazon.com

  24. ultimathule says:

That’s funny, Ron – where do you think she got that quote from (made it up – lol). Or is there another Toronto paper?

  25. ultimathule says:

    Whee #7 – go, babe!

  26. Oksana2000 says:

Ron,that’s interesting, I couldn’t find any link to Toronto TS review either. Maybe it was printed version only? (Altho I doubt that there would be something printed, but not online – usually it’s in reverse)
Kaya Burke is a bitter Cookie fan and she always comments on Adam threads sending negative vibes in theoreticaly positive posts.

  27. nkd says:

Here’s a download of the BB Q&A. BB should put it up on their site at some point to watch.

  28. Ceddies says:

Not picking on anyone here, but I have been thinking of something as we’ve talked about the Chelsea interview and others who talk about the gay, gay, gay with Adam. Many folks have never personally known anyone gay and never had access to having someone publicly address this as Adam does. Also, Adam is so open about all aspects of himself, that it probably makes interviewers feel that it’s okay to talk about it with him. My thoughts are that even though he (and we) get tired of this constantly being brought up, it may actually serve to increase public awareness and, therefore, make more folks not want to be so standoffish toward peeps who are LGBTQI. Kind of like Adam said about his kissing Tommy Joe onstage in that it brought familiarity to two guys kissing. We need the awareness, and I think Adam is good at providing this. He definitely has a platform.

IDK, and I certainly hope I haven’t offended anyone by stating this. My apologies if I have offended anyone! It was just a thought that I had as I’ve read thru our threads.

  29. ultimathule says:

The thread is open now and I just asked Kaya Burke for the link (in a nice way, of course).

  30. ultimathule says:

Good post, Ceddies and you make good points. Adam also addresses this in the BB interview – interesting conversation.

  31. eywflyer says:

    Toronto Sun review: http://t.co/416vMkJP

The review text trashes the album while the rating of 3/5 stars is similar to other reviews in that column with much more complimentary write ups. Typical passive aggressive BS from a reviewer who wanted a different type of album than what was made.

Toronto Sun is not a Metacritic site.

  32. Ceddies says:

I watched GMA until the last 15 minutes of the show, then I had to leave to drive over to Tuscaloosa. I got a glimpse of Adam earlier in the show. I haven’t had time to listen to any of the links, etc. I’m kind of like nkd, not sure I want to see the horse pants and jacket in the same outfit. But if anyone can pull the look off, it would be Adam.

  33. nkd says:

  34. ultimathule says:

Darryl Sterdan who wrote the review is the same guy who wrote that Adam’s singing with Queen was “horrifying” and that Queen should just have retired. (Posted this at MJs.)

  35. mieps says:

I couldn’t find a review of Trespassing either (seems to be ‘upcoming May 15’), but I did read the article by Sterdan on the EMA’s, as well as the comments. I’m sorry to say that some of the commenters are calling him homophobic, but there’s nothing in the article to suggest that. He just doesn’t like the idea of Queen still performing – whoever the singer.
The thread is closed for comments now (sounds familiar no?) and maybe changes were made to the article, but otherwise it saddens me that people attack everyone who says something negative. (The EW article was an exception and definitely deserved every comment.)
Frankly, if I wasn’t a fan, I would be turned off if I kept seeing these reactions.

  36. eywflyer says:

So obviously the Sun reviewer dislikes Adams music – he didn’t have the balls to give the album 1 or 2 stars he just trashed it in the write up, which was notably different in style and content than all the other write ups in that column. Nice.

Interesting that the negative reviews so far fall back on irrelevances such as the number of tracks on the album, the number of songwriters or producers, who it sounds like (as if all albums don’t have musical influences), or just good old gay stereotypes in EWs case. Very little discussion of the actual music in the negative reviews.

  37. ultimathule says:

Agree, mieps – don’t think Sterdan is homophobic (hate that word – there must be something better). Just think he hates the idea of Queen going on without FM – I have a relative like that, and I respect that opinion.

  38. mieps says:

Thanks eywflyer, I need to refine my ninja skills!

  39. eywflyer says:

I’m not saying the Sun reviewer is homophobic as there is no hint of that – just taking issue with the inconsistency between the rating and the write up relative to the other reviews in that column.

  40. nkd says:

    Another pic at BB.

  42. rs says:

    From the Toronto Sun Review

The worst offence of all? He fails to be fabulous at all times.

I might be way off the mark, but I get the feeling that this guy is secretly one of those people who love Adam, but want him only to sing the songs in just the genre that they like and otherwise get very frustrated and angry at him.

  43. ultimathule says:

Definitely inconsistent, eywflyer – think he knew he would look ridiculous if he posted less than a 3 so he trashed him in the comments.

  44. nkd says:
  45. nkd says:

There have been a few of less than favorable reviews where I felt like the reviewer was commenting more on the album Adam didn’t make rather than the music in front of them.
Some day he may make that album, who knows?

But I’m lovin me some Trespassing! Listening to Music

  46. mieps says:

I wasn’t referring to you eywflyer. What you did is what I would hope to see from the fans. Just as reviewers have the right to their opinion, readers have the right to disagree. Stating the facts and the inconsistency is perfect. Trying to convince someone they’re wrong, and being offensive in the process, will probably never work. I was just saying that by reading online comments I’ve started to realize what other people see. And it doesn’t always create a positive image for (Adam and) his fans.

  47. ultimathule says:

nkd – that career quiz is hysterical – the question about what year the AMA’s had the lowest rating – lol – must’ve turned off a lot of people – don’t wanna see that Lambert guy again (paraphrasing) – so damn funny.

  48. ultimathule says:

Thanks for the BB interview, nkd – gonna dl both of them.
