After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

Our featured photo for this month’s chat comes from Adam’s mini-concert of April 26th on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

It’s going to be an exciting month as we begin the Trespassing era, enjoy the chat!

Hi Ron, a stamp is 47 cents in the states. I’d say it’s money well spent. I agree about pen to paper.

I saw at AO that Mr Cagle is gay. One of the Out 100. I have a feeling that he never saw the article. One of staff editors, I hope, will be facing discipline, as well as Ms Maerz.

  2. milwlovesadam says:

OMG. Look how late it is!!

Too bed, after a Nirvana listen…

  3. ultimathule says:

Thanks, Ron, I will do that – power of the pen. Already did the article comment, emailed mag, emailed letters section, and twittered to Cagle.

Now wait’ll he gets a load of me – lol. (I’ll be nice.)

  4. rs says:

Thanks nkd for posting that story from AO. From the avi picture and the mention of a disability I understand that the author (I don’t know if it is a guy or a girl) is in a wheelchair. This is exactly what Adam was hoping for when he wrote the songs; to write about his own experiences and feelings and that they would touch other people in the same place. His songs COMMUNICATE!!!!!!! both aurally and lyrically, that is what makes them so great and the whole album, taken in one piece as a journey is a masterpiece.

  5. Ron says:

    Hi mils, ulti and rs

I have to go to bed! I just want to say that it does my heart good to see that there are, at this moment, 1,227 comments left concerning Adam’s review. I know I shouldn’t be giving the EW site ‘hits’ but this has had a deep effect on me.

Believe it or not, I have read every comment there! I can say with some accuracy that there are about 10, and only 10, who like the review or accuse everyone else of just being OTT Lambert fans.

Obviously, the VAST majority are expressing their disappointment, outrage and disgust for attacking Adam’s sexuality instead of reviewing the music. Many are demanding an apology. Many have indicated that they’ve cancelled their subscriptions or will cancel if an apology to Adam isn’t forthcoming. There are also lots of demands that Ms. Maerz be fired for her unprofessional review, full of stereotypical homophobic slurs and inaccuracies.

GLAAD’s, so far, not coming to the rescue is concerning but I don’t know how they operate. How quick they are to take action. The did come to Adam’s defence once before. It’s also baffling to me that the out and proud gay man Jess Cagle condoned this offensive piece of journalism and allowed it to be published.

A new generation is being taught to accept people for their differences and gay teens are being told “it’s going to get better” only to perhaps come across this review and think, “No it’s not. It’s not going to get better and it never will”.

Very sad. I hope this incident ends in some kind of positive way. I hope something positive comes out of this. I guess only time will tell.

And with that, I’m off to bed.

    Good night!

  6. Ceddies says:

Believe it or not, I have read every comment there!

Ron, I am reading every comment as well. Currently I am on page 56 of the 76 pages there. Folks are highly incensed about this, and they’re not “all” Adam Lambert fans who might be complaining about lack of legitimate record review or about Adam being hurt personally by this attack. They’re also people who know that many are being hurt this kind of thing which must be stamped out where possible and not tolerated without some kind of uprising.

I am just keeping my tab open as I read. I guess when I get to the end of the 76 pages, I will have to give them a hit/hits in order to read the subsequent pages—I guess that’s how that works. IDK

But, for now, I’m gone back to bed.

  7. rs says:

I am also annoyed that MJ stamped out any discussion of the EW article in her blog. I guess she is worried about her relationship with them. It irks me.

While everybody else (or almost everybody) else is asleep, I must get on with my morning and leave the computer. Bye

  8. asifclueless says:

    Hi ALL,
I just finished watching a video of Adam on Chelsea. It was good. Adam was very very happy. He was gorgeous and radiant. Chelsea did her homework and she made Adam feel relaxed and he talked more about Sauli.
Sauli has his new Hollywood blog. He ended with …

Everybody have a great weekend!! This coming month will be full of surprises!

I wonder what the surprises are. Can’t wait!!!

  9. rs says:

Hi asif Waving It looks like we are the only ones up at this hour. I liked the Chelsea interview, too. She was her usual irreverent self, but Adam handled it well, and in the end they got to all the important stuff. His happiness is just so infectious….It was much better than his first visit to her show.

  10. asifclueless says:

    Adam Lambert on Chelsea Lately
HQ vimo video, so clear, so great
    Adam is gorgeous!!!

  11. asifclueless says:

    Hi rs,

Hope you’re still on. I went to watch Chelsea vimo video so I just saw your post.

Something is very eerie at mjs. There must be something to be hiden. No more quotes, links to other threads, .. etc on the right side for people to access anymore.
I haven’t gone there for a while. I was annoyed as well.

  12. asifclueless says:

I for got to give Sauli’s blog link. (Translation from ATOP)

    http://www.adamtopia.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=sauli&thread=629&page=1#230806

  13. rs says:

You are right asif. I just went to MJs and saw what you were talking about. I wonder if anyone has written to her privately or tweeted her about he EW thing. I don’t follow her, so I wouldn’t know.

Thanks for the link to Sauli’s blog. Will read it now.

    Ciao bella

  14. rs says:

Just read Sauli’s blog. I hate roller coasters. But I am looking forward to the surprises this month. YAY!

  15. rs says:

The fact that MJ posted Lyndsey’s interview with Adam discussing Outlaws of Love, and yet there was not one single comment about it below is very telling. Someone had her broom out. It smacks of censorship to me.

  16. asifclueless says:

rs, someone up-thread said her post got blocked at mjs. I haven’t posted since Adam’s twittergate about Jessica and Joshua wiped the floor.
With the up-roar at Ms. MM’s EW review, Adam’s fans are closely watched at mjs. Censorship, indeed.

I tried to give positive vibe and light-hearted posts at Adam’s threads there. But I gave up … I’m tired of the place that infested with unjust mods, jealousy and butthurts.

    Sorry for this nonsense.

Adamlambertlive is a brighter and better place to stan the MAN. Love this place, love the people here.

There was a segment on ETalk about idols who “really won.” Adam was one of the ones featured:

  18. asifclueless says:

cwm .. the ETalk segment is funny. LOL
Poor Kris .. but at least he got his 2nd album promo.

  19. eywflyer says:

Good morning, just got home from work so I can crank the AO stream up after 8 hours of withdrawal – straight to Broken English Smile

Ron, I’m also very concerned and saddened by GLAAD’s lack of response to the EW review. Perhaps they will still come through today, but I have a sinking feeling that they have read the review and made a policy decision to do nothing. Had a RT in my feed this morning asking GLAAD “does he (Adam) have to fight the homophobes alone still”. Sadly, this seems to be the case. The lack of support for Adam within much of the gay community can be very frustrating at times.

I tweeted the review link to another LGBT media monitoring group called Equality Matters (@eqmatters) but I think they deal with big picture stuff like politics and probably won’t be interested in this. Also tweeted a gay blogger @JoeMyGod who comments on media coverage of LGBT issues and has said favorable things about Adam in the past. I think the only other thing that can be done at this point is for folks to write EW and cancel their subscriptions. Can’t hurt to write or email the managing editor Jess Cagle too, but I don’t have much faith at all that he will respond to this.

Sorry to be such a downer to start the morning, but it really sucks when the bullies get away with it.

  20. rs says:

In Adam’s RT tweet about the EW review, he seemed to try and laugh it off (haha) and not take it too seriously. I hope he has seen the outrage it caused.

@EW Melissa Maerz, FAIL- for only referring to @adamlambert’s sexuality condescendingly in an article that’s supposed to be about his music
    10 May Adam Lambert‏@adamlambert
@JulianM6 eeeeew yeah she comes across as pretty ig’nant, huh? Haha

He is a great communicator, but since he doesn’t have many filters, and people inspect everything he says with a fine toothed comb, he is forever clarifying. Here are his latest tweets:

    6h Adam Lambert‏@adamlambert
New Rolling Stone interview prob my most personal yet. What a great chat I had w Jonah! Hope it gives you some insight to my reality.

However, to clarify my quote bout the radio station visits. ‘f’d up retail’ part ain’t meeting fans, it’s selling myself to the stations.

The best part of those visits is the actual PERFORMING. that’s when I get to connect w you guys in my favorite way- thru music.

Thank u all for “GETTING IT” Smile

I’m glad Adam clarified the radio visits remark. I didn’t get it! I must be a dummy. Smile

  23. Kradamour says:

Me, too, luval, I cringed at the “f*ckedup retail” comment and hoped that peeps wouldn’t misinterpret but assumed that some would. It was a given that Adam didn’t mean that it was f*cked up to have to meet and greet fans to get his album out there, but doubtless someone went cuckoo over it.

  24. cgesq says:

On a much lighter note, is anyone from here planning to attend Adam’s performance on GMA in Central Park on Monday morning?

    I’m thinking of going.

I went to the GMA concert the summer after Adam was on Idol. That concert featured Adam, Kris and David Cook, who happened to be in NY then on his tour. I have to admit, it was a pain getting there so friggin early, but it was worth it!!!

    Any takers???

  25. ultimathule says:

asif – I posted about the comments being removed at MJs – think I got caught in the middle of it as a response I was posting got blocked. When I went back the EW stuff was gone including, as I remember, an appeal from one poster to write to EW whether you liked Adam or not.

Well, it’s her blog and her livelihood so can’t bitch too much – but sad nonetheless.

  26. asifclueless says:

    Thanks … ulti.
I love your posts at mjs. You seem to love everybody there.
I watch AI and Smash because there is nothing much to watch here where I live. That’s why I go to mjs to read about AI and Smash.
You are right .. it’s her blog. I didn’t see any of Adam’s posts there at all. There are many that I like.

I just checked. Now the blog is back to normal format.

  27. Kradamour says:

cgesq, I would LOVE to join you! I always regretted not going last time, it wouldn’t be that hard for me to go.
But alas I am still teaching and can’t get away.
I’ll look for your posts about it!

  28. milwlovesadam says:

It does look like MJ’s is re-organized, lees friendly to use. The missing links on the right side makes it harder to use.

I hadn’t noticed the deleting, to be honest. She is hooked up with EW, so I understand, sort of, it’s her bread and butter.

Whatever, it’s all just entertainment to me anyways. Except for Adam’s review. That was just hatred and stereotyping.

Last night, I intended to watch a taping of the Comedy Awards, and started, but they showed a piece of a comedy routine by someone named Josh or Tosh , he looked familiar, and his bit was sooooo homophobic. Saying that we should all just vote for equal rights and gay marriage, because it really doesn’t matter what happens here on earth, because all those faggots are never getting into heaven anyway, so it won’t matter.

I gasped. Then, Chris Rock came out to give his award, and was apologetic, saying, “it was just a joke, just a joke” and you could hear the Hollywood audience gasping and uncomfortable.

OMG. Why in blazes would they choose that particular sound bite, which was so offensive to demonstrate a comics material? Why broadcast that all over the world? This was a major award ceremony, very big stars there. The whole audience looked familiar. From Robin Wiliams to Tina Fey to Kristin Wiig, etc.

  29. ultimathule says:

Wasn’t crazy about Leno’s joke – he’s been good to Adam so can’t complain too much – but still wish he hadn’t said it.

I watched Chelsie’s interview last night and kept thinking “Why is she dwelling on the fact that he’s gay?” watched it again and saw past that. She really did ask some good questions and got some good responses from Adam. I typically enjoy her humor so it’s all good.

Regarding the EW article, based on what you all have said I didn’t want to give her any hits by going over there to read it, but I am saddened that EW allowed it to be posted.

Going back a page or two, I am laughing about all the sneaking around regarding the purchases and magazines and pictures and such. I have the picture of Adam’s eyes from the June 2011 chat thread on my phone. My hubby saw it the other day and asked “who’s eyes are those?”. I responded matter of factly “Adam Lambert’s”. He paused a moment and said “Well, we all need to have our fantasy’s” I almost choked! Eek! Little does he know…. Of course this is coming from a man who would BLAST Sade’s dvd’s over and over again in the downstairs den. Razz Laugh

  37. glambotgram says:

It doesn’t look like it Ron, just for the special performance of We Will Rock You. but I did not like this comment from the article.

If it turns out to be Adam Lambert (or Lady Gaga) with a fake mustache, I’m throwing my copy of Night At The Opera out the window. Mark my words.

He could only be so lucky for it to be Adam.

  38. ultimathule says:

I would sincerely hope not, Ron – doubt it would happen with Adam.

  39. eywflyer says:

Just saw this on twitter, pretty long interview which covers some new ground:

    http://t.co/3wcWQywg

Also a very informative Billboard article explaining the strategy and business side of things:

    http://t.co/0BIj9vEn

  40. Ron says:

Thanks eywflyer. Very different and interesting interview.

I’m so glad to read the No response to any kind of Freddy Mercury hologram appearing during Adam’s concerts with Queen. It would be a terrible idea! I was only thinking of the expense to create that illusion and that they’d probably want to use it more than once. Maybe they will. Just not with Adam, please.

  41. asifclueless says:

  42. luval says:

Stayed up to watch Chelsea Lately. Nope…didn’t like it or her. She cut him right off as he was saying something about if Ryan Seacrest would have asked him about being gay, to mouth a lame Seacrest joke.

And I didn’t think he looked comfortable either. During an interview whenever Adam says “like” a lot, he seems nervous. And he said “like” quite a few times.

I’ve noticed as Adam really becomes a household word the gay issue gets bigger instead of smaller. It’s never ending and it will continue continue continue. Makes me sad. I should take a positive stance I suppose and look at it as educating the public, but I can’t seem to do this.

So he’s doing just the outdoor concert on GMA and not a studio conversation? Maybe that’s better.

Of course this is all my opinion!

  43. little dutchess says:

luval agree about the Chelsea Lately interview–too much about the “gay”. Yes, people are getting educated and I suppose that is progess with that movement; but the bulk of that interview was about gay. Can’t it just be about Adam and the music?

  44. luval says:

Thanks littledutchess. And did you listen to the show before Adam came one? Totally unfunny!!! IMO. Tired old penis & of course gay jokes. I think the gal Loni Love was the only one I thought was ok.

And I agree with ultimathule about the Jay Leno joke. Not funny and I like Leno and he likes Adam so I don’t know what was going on there.
It wasn’t posted here but I can find it if someone wants to listen.

  45. little dutchess says:

RE: favorites on the CD. It does change with each play; I really do like Shady, maybe it’s the Nile Rogers tie in but
as I listen when I get to Shady (#3)I say “ya that’s the one. Then I get to Kickin In and the different sound keeps growing on me.Liking also Broken English,Chokehold & Runnin’. Then,of course, there’s Adam at his purest-Underneath–love it! But everything grows on you and then 10 plays later the favorites change. Pop That Lock is playing now and that chorus (if you wanna be it you gotta dream it…) just gets to me; the Banjee boys and dancey girls not so much. It’s just a brilliant album–not just Adam or the lyrics but the music itself is perfection. We are so blessed to have found this man. Life enrichment!

  46. ultimathule says:

Lol, luval – GMA will let him do an outdoor concert, but won’t let him in the building yet?

Anyhow – my response to the Chelsea Lamely interview is pretty much the same. Why bring up the gay – to me just trying to be outrageous at Adam’s expense. He’s an interesting, intelligent man – for crap sake, ask him interesting, intelligent questions, you ditz.

  47. little dutchess says:

Yes, Leno surprised me too and it wasn’t a good joke, if that’s what you call it.

Luval-didn’t see the whole Chelsey Lately program..just watched Adam’s interview and my feeling was that he got his plug for Trespassing but it wasn’t a fun 6 minutes.

  48. eywflyer says:

Interesting quote from the Billboard article:

In lieu of immediately touring behind “Trespassing,” Lambert’s summer plans include eight North American radio station concerts and six overseas shows singing for Queen. Direct Management Group’s Kirkup says the management team wanted to keep the artist’s schedule open as press and media opportunities arise in global markets. Lambert cites the Philippines, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, the United Kingdom and parts of Scandinavia as international markets where he’s had the most success. A proper tour will likely occur at the end of this year or in early 2013.

    Billboard link again: http://www.billboard.com/news/adam-lambert-takes-control-with-trespassing-1007035152.story#/news/adam-lambert-takes-control-with-trespassing-1007035152.story

With all of the articles and interviews coming out now, I want to remind everyone about fair use guidelines. Short quotes are fine, but always remember to include a link to the source material with your quote. We should try to avoid overly long (multiple paragraph) quotes.

  49. ultimathule says:

I wonder if Adam will just explode with rage someday and scream – I’m more than just gay, you morons!

  50. little dutchess says:

GMA will let him do an outdoor concert, but won’t let him in the building yet?

Love this ultimathule! We have some great, quick minds here…no wonder I don’t post much.
