After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

Our featured photo for this month’s chat comes from Adam’s mini-concert of April 26th on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

It’s going to be an exciting month as we begin the Trespassing era, enjoy the chat!

I just know everybody protesting against the article will be lumped up under “sparkle cows”.
Ron: I also just know you are going to win the 40,000th comment. Just keep posting.

Oh, geez! The cost to see a dentist is outrageous!

SO wish we could share some beers together again! Some day, one day and hopefully soon.

Okay, so I just wrote GLAAD. I’m on my way to EW. I am just absolutely ticked off. I’m so glad that you told us about this RON. And, Meehan’s response was fabulous. I hope Adam has seen it. I cannot believe something so blatantly hateful was approved by an editor.

EW, look out. Glamberts are on the attack. You have no idea what you have started, EW, we are done with you. And I have a feeling most of the LGBT community too.

  6. riskylady says:

Yep, I was borderline about cancelling my subscription because of the full page EW had this week, but now I AM cancelling (and People too). Who needs them? All that shit is online anyway.
Will write a “nice” fact-filled cancellation letter.
Even hubby was INCENSED to the point of commenting online under the article (a FIRST). Geez, what a scumbag this woman is. I have read all their music reviews for years and never saw a personal attack like this.

  7. Teri63 says:

OMG, I just checked in here after leaving a comment on the EW article. I feel like I want to throw up. That was one of the most disturbing things I’ve ever seen written by a member of popular media. Sure, I’ve read nasty reviews in newspapers here and there, but EW is a national magazine, and I’m truly and literally shaken that something like that could ACTUALLY BE ALLOWED TO BE PUBLISHED. Thank you, Ron, for the link to GLAAD. I just finished my complaint to them. I hope they act on this. It goes beyond disappointment that they didn’t see the album the way I do. Everyone has a right to their opinion, of course. This review was beyond homophobic — it was blatantly hateful. I really and truly hope the reviewer is canned for this. I will never buy EW again.

  8. milwlovesadam says:

Done. EW just got a big old piece of my mind.

    Phew!!

    That feels better.

    My letter to EW

Entertainment Weekly once claimed a respectable place in pop journalism.
Today, EW claims a very different place.
By publishing the homophobic review of Adam Lambert’s “Trespassing”, EW announced to the world that it has no interest in being credible.
One person’s ego turned the column inches entrusted to her into a hateful, bullying attack on an individual.
An editor approved this and added his or her bigoted imprimatur, elevating the homophobic attack to a journalistic statement.
    Homophobia is not Entertaining.
    Personal attacks are not Entertaining.
    Bullying is not Entertaining.
And the stature of Entertainment Weekly has been shrunk to the size of the small mind of the columnist who wrote the review, and the editor who approved it.

  12. Kradamour says:

Reese, the remark by Adam about the girl’s lack of hygiene was about an act of oral sex in high school, as I remember it. I think it was in RS. I cringed when I read it, hoping the girl in question didn’t read the comment.

  13. HK fan says:

I agree with you all here about the EW article, found it very offensive. Still making my way through the comments. Like your letter kradamour, nicely written…..unlike the review. It doesn’t sound like she actually listened, I mean really listened to the music or lyrics.

On that link that nkd posted re hi bio and FYE going platinum, where does it say that (with quotes), when I click the link it comes up just with Trespassing info, is there something else to click.

and probably a bit late to reply but to reese, I’m pretty sure that comment of Adams where is said about not the most hygenic, was regarding oral sex with a girl when he was a teen. The full sex is more recent, maybe a couple of years ago.

oops, must have been writing mine at the same time, without refreshing the page….

  14. nkd says:
  15. nkd says:

HK fan you have to click on the biography link.

I’ve been wondering about the certified platinum statement. This may not necessarily refer to US certification. FYE is platinum in several countries.

Off to compose my disgust with EW.

  16. milwlovesadam says:

Oops. I was on the comments page when i copied the location. Whatever, thanks Kradamour for finding the correct link. I’m having trouble locating the actual article. I read it before, but can’t find it now. I want to read the comments. Who has the link?

  17. Ceddies says:

This ^^^^ is what I remember too.

In the video from the radio station that someone posted today, they asked Adam if he’d ever “been with a woman” and he answered yes. I’m not sure if the term “been with a woman” instead of “had sex with a woman” let him off the hook of answering the “had sex with a woman” question. It usually means the same thing, but maybe not necessarily. Anyway, why do we care??? Except that we (some of us) do because we want to know all things Adam.

  18. HK fan says:

forgot to say, saw an advert for Adams GNT on channel V a little while ago, including him saying a few things….he Looked really good. May 18th at 8.55. yay!

  19. Ron says:

    Dear Kradamour

I needed a big hug and you just gave it to me.

    Thank you so much. Rose

  20. milwlovesadam says:

So, I didn’t copy my comments to EW, but I talked about bigotry and stereotyping. I asked if the blog is edited at all. I hoped it wouldn’t go into print media. I said that the writer clearly did absolutely no research, as Adam is not wearing much makeup anymore, and certainly post-Idol has not worn PURPLE eyeliner. I also said that in her lack of research, Adam has given well over 100 interviews about the meanings of his songs.

I then went for the ridiculous, because, well, I often do. I said that I was at least glad that she didn’t go for a Jewish stereotype, and say that he should have stuck with performing at Bar Mitzvahs and singing Hava Nagila.

I said I would no longer buy EW. And I won’t. I also said that EW probably has just lost money from LGBT community as this review is going viral with much upset being posted.

  21. Kradamour says:

Anyway, why do we care??? Except that we (some of us) do because we want to know all things Adam.

And especially because we want Adam to be happy, and he had expressed that he would like to experience sex with a woman sometime. Our boy should have everything he wants!

I have known a number of gay men over the years who have said they would like to – or did -have sex once with a woman, just out of curiosity, preferably a friend or a woman they knew and trusted. For most of them, it was a very special and positive one-time experience. A friend once asked me if I would do him the favor of intimacy under these circumstances.

  22. Kradamour says:

    Dear Ron,
I am glad that you felt the hug in my post.
It was definitely intended to be just that.
    Heart

  23. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Thanks for the link to comment on the EW article… Unbelievable. Composed and sent my response – really hope enough people protest and EW issues an apology. It could happen! Especially with the incredible timing of Obama’s statement on same sex marriage today.

On a positive note, I’m SOOOO excited about all the upcoming appearances – especially Idol and GMA. Grin

  24. Ceddies says:

And especially because we want Adam to be happy, and he had expressed that he would like to experience sex with a woman sometime. Our boy should have everything he wants!

Exactly!!!! You said it better than I did.

Good morning, afternoon, evening .. good day Evryone.

I just got up, missed the EW conversation. I went there and got stuck reading the pages.

Thank you very much for all your comments, report to GLAAD and unsubscribed EW. You all wrote them beautifully.

Sistakrad .. I’m so proud of you and really look up to you.

nkd .. thanks for the link to Artist Supporter’s husband who wrote a personal letter to EW. It sums up a number of posts, tweets and letters written today. I love it too. It is one to read twice.

    Found this at ATOP.
    From Mr. Heathcliff:

For those that don’t know, the Managing Editor of EW is Jess Cagle (twitter=@JessCagleEW).
Mr. Cagle is gay, one of the OUT 100. So to me that makes it particularly disgraceful that he
would be publishing a review that is not about the music but the writer’s own bigotry.

I suggest that those who are going to write should write directly to Mr. Cagle.

Another late night with the AO stream.

Broken English is a strangely fascinating song to me, probably one of the most unusual you will ever hear on a mainstream pop album. I like these lines from the Popdust review:

When a song has a lyric like “Tower of Babel has fallen down again” as its opening line, you can be pretty sure it’s not gonna be a “Nothin’ But a Good Time”-style rave-up…What keeps the song from being boring or maudlin, beyond some impressive high notes hit by Lambert, is the song’s production, which is as cold and mechanical as something off Nine Inch Nails’ The Downward Spiral—whirring synths, lurching drums, filters on nearly everything. The song’s high point comes before the final chorus, where a key change takes the song into alien territory, and Adam wails over it in a way that can only be described—by music critics anyway—as “haunting.”

  40. eywflyer says:

Post ho-ing tonight, no one else is awake to play at the moment.

I like the sound of this!

I too was so disheartened by the EW “review.” I sent them several tweets expressing my displeasure at the homophobia, unprofessionalism, and ignorance of that writer, but I will also submit a formal complaint.

nkd – I love those vids of the Shady session. Just makes me smile, bop my head, and make a stank face. Just like Adam does, actually. Love that funky sound!

  44. rs says:

Was EW the magazine that had the article that was published while the show was still being aired about Adam being the first gay Idol ? It was all speculation in those days, and there were no direct interviews , since the contestants weren’t allowed access to the press. Maybe they are still holding a grudge because after they were the first ones to put him on the cover of a national magazine, he went and gave the scoop of a great interview and confirmation of his homosexuality to their rival Rolling Stone. Just a thought. I am looking for a reason for them to be so horrible.

  45. Kradamour says:

rs, bigotry doesn’t need a reason but that might be one.

  46. Kradamour says:

Off to work – thank you for kind words re my message, I think that a lot of amazing writing was probably created by people inspired by that bit of absurdity.

And really, that is what it was. Absurdity. Not journalism, not a credible review, not even an opinion. Just absurdity.

BUT I love the timing: the same day that Obama came out in support of same-sex marriage. What will history remember?
An absurd little piece of steaming Poop in a forgotten magazine?
or the president’s stand in favor of gay rights?
    Exactly.
    Smile

  47. glambotgram says:

Loved everyone’s letters and comments to the eeeewww review bullying.

Also love the studio sessions they are awesome. (we need a stank face emoticon) LOL

  48. milwlovesadam says:

I read on AO last night through a link from somebody or something, oh so much time on the interwebs last night because of this EW pile of dung, that the “author” is actually a well-known and accredited author who came from Rolling Stone to replace Michael Slezak, and was out to replace that Ann Powers from LA Times.

Unbelievable that with credentials like that that she would stoop to low.

Was she going for tongue in cheek humor? Well, she missed her mark by a long shot. And, demonstrated that she did absolutely no research to boot.

I mean, it’s not like Adam hasn’t given 100 interviews and performances lately or taken any pictures, or been available for any information….

  49. milwlovesadam says:

My new favorite is Take Back. Just love it. “Oh-oh my.”

  50. luval says:

Oooooh just got notice that my Trespassing box set has been shipped!
