After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

I just ordered the UK version and when it showed up in my basket, it was priced at only 7 pounds 50, and of course no tax, so only 10 pounds 58.
I emailed them to be sure it was the deluxe edition. I’ll let you know the response.

Just listened to the little Gloss mag interview video clip posted above about NCOE. Yes, definitely a rueful laugh at the end.
Adam always seems to let his guard down when he is talking with a queen, he is so comfortable in that milieu; they accepted him when others didn’t. He has often mentioned various queens in interviews – remember that was the source of the shoulder cages he wore on Idol.
The Prayer has been recorded and performed by many many artists. Try You Tubing it. I adore Andrea Bocelli’s versions. Clay Aiken has a very close relationship with David Foster, the songwriter/composer of many songs for many divas, and it was noted a couple of years ago that Foster greatly admired Adam’s voice and talent, but, I doubt that they would work together.
I think Foster’s sister was the surrogate for Aiken’s baby.
I love how we are getting more creative with the smileys now that we can see them easily!

3 of the links didn’t work, but of the others, Underneath is gut wrenching, really love Runnin on first listen, and Nirvana, and love the recorded versions of cuckoo and Trespassing. Probably my least favourite at the moment is Kickin in, but I like that too, just not as much as some others.
I’m like Kradamour in that I don’t know who I can buy it for. I have one friend that likes him and came to his concert with me but doesn’t actually follow him so I will buy it for her, and I have many friends that love music and go to all the concerts here but none seem to like Adam. But heck, this album is just so good, maybe I’ll buy them copies anyway….broaden their horizons a little bit!

Those are great lists! I want to add that anything Adam sings he owns forever. It just doesn’t sound right coming from anyone else.
Hitting the sack soon. Early am tomorrow. What I always do with extra cds is carry one in my purse or bag to work…always. And leave one in my car in the glove compartment…always. Honestly you really never know who in life you’ll come in contact with where the subject of music might come up. I gave away many copies of FYE to people at work. They were thankful & happy. Who gives random anything these days to people? Me!
btw…trying to rent Velvet Goldmine at Blockbuster was a nightmare 2 yrs ago. It literally took weeks. They couldn’t find it, didn’t have it, then they did…blah blah. Interesting movie.

There were about three of four that didn’t play for me either, but after a few refreshes I managed to hear them all. I actually love Kickin’ in, mind you, I wasn’t listening to the lyrics but just the feel of the song. Big smile on my face for most of them, combined with tears for some of the others (which would be the only ones I heard the lyrics of).
I really like the album, which is a nice change from last time, when I was also speechless, but in a shocky kind of way.
This is mostly a really feel good album for me!

mieps, I totally agree, based on what I have heard so far, snippets and live performances. “shocky” is exactly the right word for my response to FYE. As much as I loved the tour and the live performances, the CD was such a terrible disappointment.

I just got an email from the AO online store – peeps who had trouble upgrading to the boxed edition have an extra day to do so, it has been extended to May 9. Apparently some orders did not go through/had an error message.
His FYE had an overall score of 71 on the metacritic site. It will be interesting to see how Trespassing gets rated.

Thanks AL for posting that – it was so interesting to revisit the critics’ opinions of FYE with 20/20 hindsight. Gotta say they hold up pretty well in retrospect (for me, at least).

For whoever had the same problem I did with ordering the upgrade, i just got an e-mail the Adam Lambert Global Store saying that the problem is now resolved. So, I ordered my upgrade, and already got my order confirmation. Now, I have no idea how many Tresspassings I will get!!

Does the box set that comes with the vinyl album as well as the deluxe CD count as 2 purchases? Well, either way I finally broke down and ordered it!
Another good place to donate a CD would be your local library. They usually have an audio/visual department that rents CDs and DVDs out to the public and with budget cuts, many small libraries don’t have funds for new releases.
Yes, people will be able to rent it for free, but think of those who go through the display and spot that CD, they may remember him from idol and take it home to listen. If they like it, they may buy their own copy, tell their friends, etc.

Ultimathule, I have said it a hundred times tonight, Runnin is unbelievable. Layers of Adam. Soaring vocal, low and high registers, “down, down down”” is just in my head.
