After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

After my somewhat successful snippet-withdrawal, I fell into listening to the album last night. Don’t feel bad about it because I don’t even know anymore how many albums I ordered, have lost track!!! Plus, gifted 5 to that Texas LGBT youth group.
Have only listened once, but totally GOBSMACKED! Will NEVER judge a song by its snippet again.
Hubby even teared up listening to Underneath, says it’s a masterpiece.

As of now, I am planning on joining both of you, luval and Kradamour. Having the goods right in front of me is mighty tempting, but I do agree that the best sound will come from the actual cd. I remember how excited I was when my FYE cd came in the mail. I don’t want anything to take away from that feeling.

LOL, luval….. I remember that episode quite well. We are big Seinfeld fans over at my house and must have seen that episode a countless number of times. It’s a classic as are all of those episodes.
By the way, notice that I prefaced my last post with “as of now”.
Well I just got punished. I was burning a cd for my car, just to tide me over till I get the ones I ordered, and realplayer stopped working in the middle of the burn. Then I couldn’t get the tray for the cd open and when I did, the cd was stuck inside. I finally got it out, but I think that the cd component of my computer is shot. The light keeps flashing and the tray doesn’t come out when I press the button. Serves me right for trying to make an “illegal” cd!
Ulti, I’ve had viruses in the past, and several notices that a virus was blocked after using mediafire. Of course it’s a good thing when a virus is blocked, but I just can’t risk it. I could use my Mac for this, but since I live on my laptop, that never seems to happen.

The 2012 Tony award nominations were announced last week. Jesus Christ Superstar is up for best revival of a musical. (along with Evita, Follies and Porgy & Bess).
I don’t think Adam is doing anything June 10th, is he? Wouldn’t it be amazing if he were able to sing his dream song in his dream play on national tv? What a boost to the ratings too, I think. Think I’ll e-mail the Tony Committee.
I haven’t pre-ordered because I wanted to create some demand at our local music store out here in the Canadian west. I was going to walk in and buy/order 5 or 6 copies. But I will be away until May 22.
So should I order online to boost first week sales instead?

Wow – what a night and day it has been huh? I got wind of the leak or accidental early stream or whatever it is late last night and ended up staying awake until about 430am listening to tracks. I’m not gonna say I loved every single track, but to me this album is light years ahead of FYE.
Interestingly, several of my favorites at this point are from the lower half of the track list. Cuckoo, Shady, Broken English, Underneath, Outlaws of Love, Runnin are the ones I’ve mostly listened to so far. Can’t believe Runnin is a bonus track and not in the main album. Also interesting that the vocal line in OOL is almost identical to what we heard at Sainte Agathe last summer, that must have been one of the first if not the first song finalized for the album.
luval, there was some debate on twitter last night when Adam tweeted (around 4am EDT) if he was angry or excited. The consensus was that he was excited, or he wouldn’t have tweeted that out sending more people in search of the album online. He RT’ed a couple of things today also indicating excitement rather than anger.

HaHa love the bigger emotion box, I too had trouble with it, I didnt think I should say anything.
I have decided to wait till my album gets here in the mailbox till I listen to anything, since I have my sons awsome earphones, that is what my first listen will be. I will read all the squeeing about the songs, but I promise I will not give in till I get the thing in my hands. And this is from the person that hunts up every spoiler to every show there is. But something had made me decide to wait for the CD in the mail.
I hope so bad it goes to number 1, like someone said, I will love the album, but its placement is more important to me. I will, and do love it anyhow even if it never gets one placement, but we all know and pray that isnt going to happen.

Runnin’ was a pleasant surprise. Glad I ordered the deluxe album and I do agree that this album is better than FYE. Now, we have to wait and see how the non-Adam fandom reacts to this.

I ran into a old friend today who works at J.C.Penney. She’s a huge Adam fan. I mean HUGE. But she says to me “are you still following Adam? What’s he doing these days?”. God, I had to tell her everything and recent things like Kimmel, Chelsea Lately, guesting on Idol. I tell ya, the general public knows NOTHING about Adam. That’s why I worry a bit about sales being in this bubble. No one I know tweets, or has itunes. They just listen to the radio in their cars.

I know I am overseas, but all my cd shopping comes from HMV, we got FYE released the same day as in the US, then we got the delux FYE for sale the day it went on release. If HMV stock it, shouldn’t the US HMV’s have it too?
rs thanks for that heads up on cd warehouse, I have never heard of it before. Googled it and it looks like there is only 1 store in HK, about 30 mins from me, so doable. Just wondering though if its an independant type store whether sales numbers will count, or should I just wait for HMV?…….or should I do both?????
Texaswannaholdem, I haven’t found out where to listen to the album yet, and I’m on the train that might wait till my cd gets here….surprisingly so, as I’m with you, also found out the sex of 3 of my kids, have been known to peek at pressies, and often read the last pages of a book first!!!!

I have’nt posted anything in forever,but I just listened to the album and had to say how fantastic it is.”Runnin” is soooo good,love his voiceon it .I think it should have been a regular track not a bonus.There is a couple of song’s that may have to grow on me,but I have no complaint’s at all about this album.

plenty ofa lot of them to adorn our posts about Trespassing!I am feeling sad when I see you all buying lots of copies of the CD and gifting them. I don’t know a living soul to give one to.
I think I’ll buy three at B&N just in case I ever meet someone who might like it. None of my friends even listen to music of any kind except whatever is on when they turn on the car radio, and usually they just listen to NPR. I don’t even know anyone with an ipod. When I tell someone I am going to a concert, I get a response along the lines of “oh, that’s nice” and a change of subject. It’s discouraging.
From time to time I ask a friend to go with me to a concert that seems middle of the road: Jason Mraz, for example, or even Elton John. Nope.
But I totally get it. That was me prior to Adam. I have tried to tell this or that peep who is a good friend that Adam changed things for me, that they might want to give a listen…but there is genuinely no interest at all. My friends just go to the symphony. And the opera.
Which brings me to the mantra that we hear so often posted here – I am so, so, grateful for this blog and all of you.
