After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

The miracle is that it took us so long!
I’m waiting until I have the album in my hand. And now I am buying twice as many as I would have before.
Wonder how many NOT openly gay artists have debuted at number one?

Really, really hope the leak doesn’t impact sales.
But: every artist has “fans” who download for free, so that factors itself in naturally, I think.
The “leak” was a legitimate stream in Malaysia. It will begin streaming in other parts of the world today, and I would think at AO soon.
Plus people have started receiving their copies, although I haven’t heard of any in the US getting theirs yet. They must have sent out the international orders early.
I think FYE came in the mail a day or two before the release date if I remember.
I listened, but I don’t feel bad in the least … so far I’ve pre-ordered 4 copies and plan on being at Target/Best Buy on the 15th to make my “public” purchase!
For those with more willpower than me, I’ll just say this: You will NOT be disappointed. To say this was worth the wait seems so inadequate Runnin’, Take Back and Nirvana are such sweet, sweet surprises.
I’ll add something y’all could probably figure out – I peek at my gifts (if given the chance) and found out the sex of all three of my babies before they were born!
I’ve listened too, am listening, listened through at least 3 times last night. It is sooo good! I agree the bonus tracks are great. The 30 second snippets do nothing for them. Every track has something awesome not in the snippets. It is really amazing.
I lost count on how many pre-orders I have out. I think 9, so I don’t feel the least bit guilty!
nkd, it’s the first cd I’ve ever had in my life that there wasn’t at least one song that I wanted to skip (even including FYE!). 9 pre-orders?? Haha, I’m sure my number will go up as I start gifting!

Like TexasWannaHoldEm, I have never been good at delayed gratification. Don’t feel guilty since I ordered an additional three copies from Bs&N (they are having a good sale on the deluxe version with free shipping if you buy 3 or more); have order Itunes deluxe; and of course have an back order from months ago on Amazon.
Am loving all the songs and still keep coming back to Underneath and Shady. Broken English and Naked Love come in as close seconds. Can not wait to hear these live!!!
This month’s pic is breathtakingly beautiful. Love that Adam seems to be radiating joy when he is performing his new music. What a proud proud papa he is. Luckily his “baby” will be adored and paraded around by us and (fingers-crossed) millions more.
I am more nervous (excited) to see the sales figures than I am getting the cd! Please please please general public & people who may see him on Idol…go buy Trespassing!!!

Where has Trespassing been leaked? I can’t help it. I want to listen……Please…..somebody…..If you don’t want to give a link publicly, then give me a hint where to look or I am rs on the fan site. I have already preordered my albums, so it won’t affect the sales and I won’t download, I just want to hear the whole songs, especially Shady and Underneath.

I have a question. Do we do Adam any favors by preordering? Does anyone tabulate how many preorders he has for an upcoming CD? Would it be better if we didn’t preorder and just buy them outright/online/whatever at a specific time in order for all the sales to count as first week sales? Opinions please.

Al, the article you just quoted from was what got me thinking about the question I just asked concerning why we preorder when we could just mass purchases during a particular week and get him into #1 probably.
Picking myself up off of the floor. I just listened to the whole album. OMFG!! I am in no shape to give a whole critique, but my opinions of the different songs I got from the snippets or live shows changed after hearing the album. I love Trespassing better live and Cuckoo better on the album. I started out trying to listen with my new high quality earphones, but I couldn’t sit still and very soon took them off and was up dancing around my kitchen (where my computer is). The beginning of Shady…. WOW, I can just imagine Adam picking up Sauli in that Shady bar in Helsinki. And Underneath……………hands down my favorite on the whole album. I was in tears, and the snippet we heard doesn’t do the whole song justice. It is funny, the bonus tracks were definitely different from the rest and I didn’t even recognize Adam’s voice in Runnin, but I love, love, love Nirvana. I need about 100 more listens to get more of a first impression.

Ceddies, I believe all the pre-orders count toward the first week’s sales. There has been a lot of promotion to pre-order so it would not make sense if those purchases made on iTunes, AO, Amazon or elsewhere would not count. We can still go out and purchase more after the 15th and then even the second week so that the drop off of sales is less than average.
Just got an e-mail from Amazon that I’ll be receiving the CD next Monday the 14th.

Just got my Gloss magazine in the mail (in brown paper envelope lol). It’s tiny!! Only 5″ x 7″. I thought it would be at least Rolling Stone size. I want my Adam to be HUGE! I can see why it is a free magazine. Three quarters or more of the mag are ads.
Many comments on mj headline thread about that article that nkd and AL posted. Most are fine. A few say things like “why buy an album just because he’s gay?”. But many many counters to those type of posts such as “why buy anything because of any reason?” One good one was the haters should buy it, burn it…it still is a win for the sale!
luval, thanks for post re Gloss. I was thinking about buying it, but honestly the pdf is probably better, can make it as large as you like on the screen. And yes, most of it is ads, and it is easy to print just the pages you need (i.e. pages with Adam).

Just doing that from memory, though.
All of my gay men’s magazines come in plain envelopes. Gonna pick up the Russian one from the post office tomorrow, it came registered mail so I have to go in person. Kinda odd. VERY curious about this!
So glad that peeps are liking the album! I think that I will hold out, though…I want the best sound…and I actually bought the version on vinyl, also, and I am really looking forward to what that will sound like!
