G’night!
And what a good night it was!
Crackin’up!
Yep, they missed Pop That Lock title.
Some editor really dropped the ball on that one!
Yes and yes.
The only one missing is Monte. Adam really has closed that door. It’s one thing to have creative differences, but it’s like they never even knew each other. I was never a Monte fan, and I’m glad he’s no longer part of the band, but somehow this makes me a little sad. I hate to think of Adam feeling hurt and betrayed by someone he trusted.
Yes, Ellessay – that “thanks for stickin’ by me” to TJ said it all.
yes Ellessay, I noticed the no Monte mention, and kind of read between the lines on the TJ mention. I guess we’ll never know what really happened but Monte must have hurt him bad for the total cutting him out of his life.
I don’t follow any of the others on twitter, do the other band members still follow Monte?
I love the Thank-you list in the booklet. I read every word. What he said about Sauli was so sweet. And I felt so proud to be one of those Glamberts who make him feel safe. And yes, I also knew who most of the people were. He put so much thought into what he would say about each person. Of course, Monte is the glaring omission. I can just imagine what he would have said about him if he hadn’t hurt him so much. He talks in a lot of places about loyalty, etc. And it is interesting which ones of the AI8 co-contestants he mentions: Kris, Allison, Anoop, Matt, Megan, and Lil. And the end is so priceless, thanking everyone who has told him NO. “Anyone who has ever dissed me or judged me. You give these songs the air to make the fire. Turn it up and let the liberation burn!
There is a reason why this man attracts the love and support of the likes of us, and it isn’t just his VOICE.
So true, rs – it isn’t just the voice – it’s the character of the man.
Is this what I think it is?
“Dusty: You crafty biatch! Thank for bein my buddy. Fitz struck gold!”
nkd, what do you think it is??? I have no idea what it means or what you think it means..
well, after reading the thankyous earlier, and seeing several people saying they’d been notified their cd’s were on the way I was feeling a bit left out. So just went over to Adamofficial and ordered the set with the pics…..at least I think I did!!
Have no idea what I will do with the pictures, apart from hide them in my bedside drawer to be brought out and drooled over when I am on my own.
Does that count as 1 more for his first weeks sales too as its ordered from the US?
This is so cute. A very young fan made a video called
If Trespassing Came Out
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF7v7IIjpSY&feature=player_embedded
Wow what a night! Thank yous, credits, and lyrics!
Twitter was SO funny tonight when “happy” announced that she had received the CD but was a tech fail so didn’t know how to post anything online. People were going bonkers on twitter, lamenting that of all the ninjas in this fandom, the first CD had to land in the hands of a complete tech neophyte. I was LOLing at how desperate people were to see/hear something. Finally her daughter arrived and helped her post the photos of the booklet that we see. Then there was much amusing speculation about what “the sweetest seeds make the best treats” was referring to. LOL
I love the thank you page. I pored over it and could feel the thoughtfulness and love put into every thank you. Some of them were so touching (e.g. Sauli, fans, family, Riff). I’m proud to be one of those fans that makes him feel safe and loved. And I agree the ending is so fierce, so inspiring, and so liberating. All of it makes me love him even more.
The omission of Monte is glaring. It makes me sad that their relationship is so broken that there’s nothing positive Adam wants to say to him after all these years. He must feel terribly hurt and betrayed. Adam doesn’t mention Longineu either, but since LP bailed out halfway through the tour, that’s probably why. And it’s interesting that Michael Sarver, Danny Gokey, and Scott MacIntire are left off the AI8 list. The only other person I can think of that didn’t get a specific thank-you mention is Nile Rodgers. That’s too bad, but Nile is credited as a “feat.” at least, which is great. Other than these, it feels like Adam thanked everyone important to him. So sweet and touching.
All of the lyrics are wonderful. Take Back and Runnin’ are intense and very dark. And Nirvana has lovely lyrics. Looking forward to hearing all 3 of these songs more fully. 30 secs of snippets weren’t enough!
And the first verse of Shady! What a hoot! And hot!
As someone who does a lot of careful editing at my work, it drives me nuts that an editor didn’t catch the missing Pop That Lock title on the lyrics page. WTF!! I’d be perturbed about that imperfection if I were Adam. I wonder if someone will point it out to TPTB and they’ll correct it for future batches. I hope so.
Sounds like the international box sets have shipped, so others will be receiving theirs soon too. I’m predicting that we may well be hearing the complete album within the next few days (I think that since the album has shipped, RCA will start streaming it somewhere to take the pressure off the temptation to upload/download rogue copies). CANNOT WAIT!!
OMG can you believe that after all this time waiting, we are now THISCLOSE to actually hearing it?? WOOOOT!!!
For those of you wanting a hard copy of Gloss Magazine:
Here’s another snippet of the interview that didn’t make it into the article:

More berting from the NY-based PopBytes guy who was tweeting such superlatives yesterday. And check out one of his replies – YES! One at a time, one at a time.
Nice article in the Seattle Gay News:
http://www.sgn.org/sgnnews40_18/page23.cfm
Adam said that Shady was about the night when he met Sauli. Reading the first verse, I can really see it now. Whew!
Translation of sudella, from a Finnish fan:
Awww, Michael Orland from Idol got wind of the thank you from Adam. So lovely.
Good morning, peeps!
Loved the Seattle interview, a couple of nice items. Adam isn’t paid in champagne, holds onto his clothes (duh), and I liked his closing remarks about bullying of LGBT youth. Thanks for posting!
Re Monte…and the “missing” idol contestants…it is obvious that Adam put a lot of thought into both what he said and didn’t say. Only his stanning fans will pick up on the omissions, of course, but it is all out there.
I’ve been thinking about what Monte must be thinking/feeling. Doubtless very complicated. (shakes head)
People last night were saying they didn’t see Pop That LOck on the song list. I saw it…it’s number 7. Love that he listed his fans first too. And his hairdresser! I think he knows how much we love that hair!!!!
luval…. They are talking about these lyric pages:
http://i1265.photobucket.com/albums/jj507/happy787/lyrics1.jpg
http://i1265.photobucket.com/albums/jj507/happy787/lyrics2.jpg
Naked Love lyrics seem to be combined with Pop That Lock lyrics. Hopefully, they can correct this before others receive the package.
luval, The title of Pop That Lock doesn’t appear above the lyrics to the song. It looks like a continuation of the lyrics of Naked Love
Oh…thank you guys.
My copy has already been sent out, so it will have the mistake. Maybe it will be like those rare stamps with the mistakes that become very valuable collector’s items. Does that mean I shouldn’t open the wrapping? Sorry I can’t do that. Must.listen.as.soon.as.it.arrives.!!! Even though I do still have an unopened copy of the first edition of the acoustic album.
I am still holding out, I read the lyrics and can I just say HOT, SEXY and so touching. Our boy is a genius.
From the comments everywhere it looks like the Thank You’s are a huge hit. I don’t want to spoil the experience by reading online, so I am still hanging in there. Barely
That fan video was absolutely adorable. I wonder where those kids are? Looked like Hawaii, but, they had accents. Such Glamberts. I noticed a M&G poster in the background. Mom must be a Glambert too. Somebody needs to tweet this to Adam. This is the kind of video he would re-tweet.
I was gonna walk on my treadmill today to GN DVD. But, I don’t want to look backwards today.
Oh. Who am I kidding?
It’s still fabulous and fun to watch while schvitzing.
So did we know before this that there was a Glambert Music/Kobalt Songs Music Publishing. It is listed in the credits of all songs that Adam has a writing credit on. except Underneath.
They started with 495 and it is 636 now!
Glambotgram. I do believe we knew about that Kobalt company. It was a bit ago. They are a huge world renown company. Maybe someone else can elaborate.
So…in celebration of all things Adam, I juiced my first juice today.
Yummy! and so easy! Used kale, apple, carrot, celery, ginger and a squeeze of lime. Gonna make another one in a few minutes, really enjoyed the taste, want MORE! Maybe add a banana this time and call it dessert lol.
Honestly, it was so fast and easy, and even clean up only took about a minute.
We joined a CSA and the leafy green stuff was overwhelming us…now I am grateful for it.
Has anyone used the remaining fiber in a recipe? I keep seeing “use it in breads, soups etc.” but unsure of how that would work.
Glambert Music was added on Acoustic Live. On FYE it was just Adam Lambert music publishing designee, or something like that.
MJs had a thread about it – just google Adam Lambert and Kobalt – lots of stuff – administration deal
Glambert Music is Adam’s publishing brand, and Kobalt is an international manager of royalties and such.
From their website
“Dusty: You crafty biatch! Thank for bein my buddy. Fitz struck gold!”
Does nobody else think that he thanked Dusty Madrid and Fritz, but misspelled it? It’s right after the personal friend thank yous and just before the dancer and band thank yous.
Or maybe Fritz has a friend Fitz!
Yes, I totally agree Kradamour. Lots of thought obviously went into that thank-you page. Love him for that.
Lots of back and forth on twitter this morning about whether it’s appropriate for fans who receive the album early to upload it to the internet to share with other fans who are eager to hear it, as well as whether it’s appropriate for fans to download it to listen. Interesting question. Most hard-core fans have already bought at least one pre-order (or fully plan to purchase from a store) so purchasing is not an issue for them, but would the “leaking” and passing around the links facilitate casual fans illegally downloading the album without purchasing? I expect that some international fan who receives the album early and knows how to post the album online is likely to do so in the next day or two, so fans will be faced with the choice of whether to download and listen early or wait until an official stream is put up or wait until their own copy arrives. Such a dilemma! I myself am leaning toward waiting until an official stream goes up, but am interested in hearing others’ opinions here.
I was a bit surprised to see Michael Sarver missing. He has, unexpectedly for me, stood up for Adam a couple of times.
It can’t have been easy though, to compile the list.
Well, since I expect to like the live performances WAY more than the studio versions, I am happy to wait until I have a CD in my hands. (shrugs) I just bought them to support Adam. I’ll probably listen once and then put it away until live versions are available from the tour or otherwise, like I did with FYE. I mostly want the album out for other peeps to listen to. (Hope that makes sense.) But I know that isn’t a typical response.
There’s a really beautiful interpretation of the lyrics to Nirvana posted on Adamtopia here, by AleksandraKv, about 3 posts down:
http://adamtopia.com/index.cgi?board=daily&action=display&thread=856&page=8#ixzz1u0OjtbTu
Further down the page (about 3/4 of the way down), there is also a translation (by Blueberry) of an article in the Finnish press about Adam’s touching thank you to Sauli in the liner notes. (That Finnish press is fast, just like us!)
Here is the original article in Finnish:
http://www.iltalehti.fi/viihde/2012050515534928_vi.shtml
I thought exactly what you thought when I first saw that–Dusty served him well.
As for Fitz/Fritz, maybe the fans misspelled it in the first place when it was first mentioned. In any case, I had to laugh when I read that.
Wonder why he didn’t mention Michael Sarver in the Idol group. He’s been quick to jump on twitter and defend Adam on several occasions.
Kradamour, read your juice machine instructions: no avocados or bananas. If you want a smoothie, use your juice and a banana in a blender!
But, I’m glad you liked your first foray into juicing. See? Ginger is good!
So, if he was “thanking” Dusty Madrid, why not Dante too? LOL
Hah, mils! banana not successful – when in doubt, read the instructions! but it didn’t harm anything, it just went straight into the fiber stuff.
Just had my second big glass of green juice. Honestly, I can see myself doing a cleanse after school ends. For now, the plan is to juice on the weekend except for dinner, and then have a salad without dressing (I usually don’t add it anyway) and some broiled fish or scallops. Husband is opposed to no dinner and he is helpless in the kitchen, but will rustle up a quick lunch (frozen burritos…) for himself.
Maybe he really hasn’t personally kept in contact with Michael since he began this album? The others he named were the ones he really hung with while he was on the show, so he may either include them in his overall artistic influences in some way, or he may still keep in contact with them to this day. We know of a few tweets here or there (and we know Anoop recently went to see an Adam performance in Atlanta), but who knows how many private conversations he may be having with his old close pals from Idol that may have helped him feel their continued support during this second era?
This is from Michael Sarver’s twitter on April 30. I realize Adam’s list was made long before April 30. And, I know this is a retweet, but Michael cared enough to retweet it.
LOL, was just thinking that Adam may have needed some of his
overinvested fans to help him come up with his Thank You list.I will not be listening to snippets or streams or lyrics or anything anymore until May 15th. I can wait.
But I can’t stop reading the liner notes. Me of no emotion I almost needed a box of tissues.
Yup, illegal downloading…the bane of an artists existence.
I, too, saw the absence of Michael Sarver, and it made me a little sad. Lil Rounds got a shout-out and Michael didn’t? Wonder if Adam thinks Michael isn’t really sincere? That has crossed my mind from time to time. He is almost trying too hard.
Just a thought.
