February went roaring out like a lion with Queen and Adam wrapping up their sold-out 26 city tour of Europe and UK. March is all Lambert as he heads home or to a possible vacation spot for a well-deserved rest. That will be short-lived though as the promo for The Original High picks up with the single release GHOST TOWN scheduled for April 21st.

This month’s main photo is from the BRITs red carpet. Adam attended the event with the head of the Warner Brothers label and just happened to be in the neighborhood.

I just hope the songs on TOH are more voice than music. I listened to some female’s (sorry, can’t recall who but a she’s top 10 sort) new song yesterday on the radio, and there was so much instrumental and electronic background that her voice got lost.

I really think the majority of TOH will be more music than voice. Hence the statement he made a bit back “but it’s still me”. Wish I could find the interview. IMO he’s changing the direction of his music…at least for this album.

Cait, I don’t know how we stayed alive before Trespassing was released. Weeks and weeks of delays, music leaks, album was posted on-line the day before official record release to be downloaded for free. (don’t think record companies do that anymore).

So much was happening with Adam going to dozens and dozens and dozens of radio promos which in the end did nothing to help the album (thanks to program directors ignoring it, of course).

Anyway there’s lots more if you go to the archives here. Fun to read our months of angst!

Would have agreed 100% before he started talking a little about the sound of the album. I sure hope so too!

Cait, the Trespassing rollout wasn’t easy. Originally Adam had hinted at November 2011 for release, then he worked with Pharrell and changed the direction of the album. The first single was released in late December, not good, but my feeling is that Adam wanted to get something out for the fans. Then the release date was set for March 20, then when Adam was attending a press event with radio stations, maybe Grammy week, he said Maypril, and we were all a bit disappointed. And “WTF does that mean?” During this time there was a lot of “soon” and “ish” attached to the timeline, that’s where the “soon-ish” joke came from in the fandom. Adam did promo in Europe for a few weeks in Jan-Feb, then spent most of March travelling the US visiting radio stations with short intimate performances and meeting with fans, with a few stops in Canada. We got a few snippets of 4 songs during this time, then the release of the second single.
The album was finally released May 15.

I don’t think so. Adam knows we love his voice. Max Martin loves his voice.
I don’t think that’s what he meant by that statement, but luval I know you won’t be convinced until you hear it.
I will be very disappointed if that’s the case, and his voice is lost among the music.
Of course for us, any music covering the most minute bit of his voice is too much!

I think he will always be changing the direction of his music as long as he is recording albums. That’s him. Evolving as he goes!

May I just add, let’s not forget the wrench thrown into the single/album releases of Trespassing by the release of the “bastard” albums, masquerading as Adam’s new music, the lawsuits, etc. Nightmare! Can’t imagine Adam’s distress after creating his baby, and the betrayal by a “friend.”

cwm, sparkle, my sympathy for your travails with mom and hubby. It’s never easy and pulls on all our strength and resolve.
I can say, was given the same mils lecture by ER staff when I took hubby there after falling off a ladder while de-coconuting a palm by the pool.

Going to start working on recaps/travelogue of our 3 Europe concerts soon – that should help fill the desperate hours until the single is bestowed upon us.
I too hope for some funk/blues. He’s had little spurts – Red House, that amazing ITLOTG intro in Melbourne 2, I Put a Spell on You at his Halloween party. But I expect an eclectic mix, not just one thing. He’s not Kelly or SS, thank the Universe!!!!

Adam and Max know what his strength is and they aren’t going to hide it, especially as they know he has picked up a lot of Queen and rock fans over the past year. The Deep House music is probably a couple of tracks and for all we know they are bonus tracks on the deluxe version. Speculating about the music genres on his cd is fun but worrying isn’t.

If a huge group of teens started requesting a One Direction song from a boomer-targeted, “golden oldies” station, the station would ignore them because their advertising isn’t focussed on that group. The same is true with us and POP stations.

She is suggesting that, if you are going to request from a station, you should make sure that they are a station that cares about your demo (or fake your age/demo as some fans appear to want to do.)

In the US WWFYM did well on HAC and POP. The fact that there are more POP stations isn’t that big a deal over the long haul. Songs that do well move over to other charts.

The fact that Adam’s cd is projected to include R&B, house music and pop says that WB are set up to try various avenues.

We never once considered her to be anything other than sharp, interested and cool.

It is a fan apparently, ulti. The BiggestLeeker twitter account has identified the twitter handle of the writer and a poster on the blog has congratulated “Laurie” on her wit. The poster also thinks that a few fans behaved so badly yesterday that they needed to be sorted!!!!????

No way Adam would buy into the attitude of that article. His entire focus is on being proud of who you are and wearing it.

Chunkey has weighed in, too. She wondered if the person was just butt hurt or a lousy writer. (Actually, I think she was afraid some fans might think she had something to do with it.)

luval, you are so right, I’m not going to miss concert opportunities and I definitely don’t have any regrets except for the concerts that I’ve had to miss in the past .

Age is state of mind, and when I grow up I’m going to be much more bold .
