Woke up thinking that more than the half of March is gone. 15 days to go…going to be hectic days for us and for Adam.
lol Cait, you remind me so much of what we were like before Trespassing came out! Adam is trying so hard to keep a secret but he is bursting at the seams with excitement, so hints keep slipping out. And of course, that just gets is more excited
. But don’t expect the song to come out exactly on the first of April.

Hi gang – I’m wrapping up a long weekend trip to LA to visit my mom. No Adam sightings to report, unfortunately. Although I can vouch for how hot it’s been – crazy hot for March. It got up to 95 here on Saturday (same day Adam was running in Runyon Canyon).
Of course, I’m just kidding about the Adam sightings. Adam’s world is a very different world than the one at my mom’s house right now. As some of you may know, my mom has been in ill health for a while now. She has recently entered hospice care, and is now in end-stage Alzheimer’s disease. It’s very sad and hard, but it’s very good to be with her as she travels this difficult journey. We had several powerful and poignant moments this weekend when I was able to reach in through the fog of Alzheimer’s and extreme weakness, and actually connect with her in brief moments of clarity – about memories, love, fear, peace, and being ok with letting go.
Do me a favor, please – Hold your loved ones close and tell them repeatedly how much you love them and how much they mean to you!
I’ll try to be here as much as I can over the coming weeks to celebrate Adam’s new music with you all, but it’s impossible to predict how the coming weeks/months will play out with my mom. I’m sending you all lots of love, even if I can only manage to be sporadic in my presence here!
Dear cwm, I think about you so often and was just wondering how your mom is doing a couple of days ago when I realized that you hadn’t been here in a while. As hard as it is, I am so glad that you have this time with your mother, and I know that she feels your presence. It is a completely different situation than with my other who was literally on the other side of the world when she died (in Australia on sabbatical). I am keeping my 95 year old father close. Sending you both my warmest hugs and thoughts.

cwm I am so sorry to hear that about your mum. Its hard…About three weeks ago my Bfs grandma died. She had giving up wanted to die but her body hadnt let go. It was a tough hard.time for us. My thought are with you and your family

Cait1602 Yeah, I also loved Adam on Glee.. I was surprised that he got such a sympathetic role… as the “Voice of Reason” amongst all the over-the-top youngsters…
Usually characters in Glee have a lot of flaws…
And maybe Adam was just being lucky and had relatively much screentime as a guest, because Glee gueststar Demi Levato did not have much screentime, maybe due to conflicting schedules…

RE: Shazam. Early streaming shows interest in Adam. I can’t bring myself not to do it. Most of us are new on Shazam and do not have a footprint, so we can make the most of it.
iTunes and Amazon are a different story. They have our prior purchase activity and, for most of us, Adam cds are writ large. This is called bucket information. It is used to suggest cd’s we might like and to predict our future purchases. The labels have this info and UMG will be sh*tting bricks if a significant % of fans who pre-bought FYE and Trespassing don’t order CD3. (Figures will be down anyway but the decline shouldn’t exceed the market’s.)
They ARE going to be parsing our fan status – core or casual – but core fans are just as important to TPTB as casual fans and, imho, we need to show our face.
Also, regarding iTunes’ new way of reporting pre-sells: who gives a hoot about the iTunes rankings? They are a sales outlet, not Billboard. In the end the labels will be tracking pre-sells from all outlets regularly to use as a marketing guide and it is better for Adam if those figures are encouraging.
My two cents worth. Could be wrong but I was in retail marketing for over 30 years and spent most Monday mornings looking for anomalies in sales reporting. If pre-sells drop, they will be very concerned.
Yes, cwm, like TLKC posted – many of us here are having – or have had – the caretaking roles reversed. And ALL is such a good place to find so many who understand what you’re going through. Hope it helps in some way.

Thanks, ulti. I have a bit of background but I am also just another anxious fan wondering what is the right thing to do.
The thing is, Adam has a strong core fan base. He and his management know and value us. They are expecting to see us kick in.
What Adam needs is more casual fans and, no matter how many times we pull back our online footprint to “fool” TPTB, we will do so at the expense of our valuable and loyal online selves. And the online impact of his core fans is being tracked.
We need to have faith that QAL (plus Avicii, Nile and Glee) have produced a decent-sized, casual, fan base and they are interested enough in him to check out his new work.
If his new single is catchy, they will find him and he will be fine.
Shoshana is getting lots of questions. Much lamenting about ageism. That’s marketing/that’s life.

Is anyone else getting a tiny bit confused? So no requesting on Radio if I didnt have the correct age for that station? Shazam in Germany even if its not so known here helps or doesnt help? Is it world wide count? So buying on Amazon is ok? How am I not seen as a “Glambert” but as a relative new fan?
