February went roaring out like a lion with Queen and Adam wrapping up their sold-out 26 city tour of Europe and UK. March is all Lambert as he heads home or to a possible vacation spot for a well-deserved rest. That will be short-lived though as the promo for The Original High picks up with the single release GHOST TOWN scheduled for April 21st.

This month’s main photo is from the BRITs red carpet. Adam attended the event with the head of the Warner Brothers label and just happened to be in the neighborhood.

Enjoy the chat!

In total agreement with mils….Johnny kind of thought it was his show.

No tomatoes from me milwlovesadam. I totally agree with it all. Especially the comment about the ladies. They were lovely but really didn’t add a great deal. However Adam seems very loyal to friends. It will be interesting though.

Hm you have a point. It is going to be hard for everyone of us to hear him with another band. Maybe for us new Glamberts even more.

I watched and rewatched many many vids of his previous tours. ( Always drawn to guitarrists, I just love this instrument )

This Monte guy was good, he has to be if he still plays for Madonna. But for me he was so out of place on a stage with Adam. I dont know why, its just a feeling I have watching him on that GNT-DVD, on vids on yt, he didnt work for me. (a bit confusing sorry, but cant describe my gut feeling any better)

Tommy – he is talented. A few weeks ago he posted on twitter a link to a self composed song. Was haunting me for days. Stucked in my mind. Thats what I need with guitarrists lol getting stucked in my head with their melodies for days. He is definitely missing the expierence Brian May has, but Brian has over 30 years (?) of more expierence than Tommy. So it isnt possible for Tommy to be as good as Brian.
But for me watching the Trespassing-tour vids on YT – there was a better harmony between Tommy and Adam, they both had fun on the stage, they worked together and worked out way better than Monte and Adam. ( <—- my opinion )

Cam, like you said mils was good as was Isaac.

I still get confused who was when where on what concert lol as I said I concentrate more on guitarrists than other instruments *cough* Its an addiction…could listen to Brian Mays solo for hours and hours and wouldnt get tired.

It will be hard but I think we can trust Adam to find a good band, a band with whom he will have fun on stage and a good harmony. And thats what counts!

  5. milwlovesadam says:

Thanks Kiwi, yeah, loyalty is the key word here. Adam is a very loyal friend, however, I really believe that stretching outside of loyalty into some better talent is going to be key for Era 3.

LOL. I do have some brain cells left.

Who was Johnny again? lol Question

  7. milwlovesadam says:

cait, I’m with you about guitarists. I loooved Brian’s solo, and live was incredible. I’ve been front and center for many greats, such as BB King, Peter Frampton, Derek Trucks, Buddy Guy, Lindsay Buckingham, George Thorogood, and more. As well as Paul Simon, arguably not a guitarist, but to be a singer, player and songwriter is such talent. I need to add Gary Clark Jr to my list.

I just love a great guitarist, and adore acoustic sets. I saw Rodrigo Y Gabriela from the 4th row a couple of years ago, wow.

I missed out on seeing SRV, Stevie Ray Vaughn, with Eric Clapton, at his final show near my home. I had just had my first son, and just didn’t have the energy to see an outdoor concert. He was killed that night in a plane crash. Now, it’s rock history, but I had tickets.

  8. milwlovesadam says:

cait, Johnny Rice is an old friend of Adam’s who is a dancer. He joined Terrance on stage for a tour during Trespassing of Asia and several other areas. South Afica. Many of us didn’t care for his dancing style, posture, and lack of following the choreo. He wasn’t in sync with Terrance at all, and was too, ack, I’m hesitant to say it, but, he was just too flamboyant. It was all his show. Not a team player.

Some posters here who have dance and theater background, posted quite a bit about his untrained posture, for a supposedly professional dancer.

This is all interesting, because he danced on VH1 Divas and did follow the choreo. So why was he so off with Adam’s shows? Was it just a show between friends? They played a few arenas, sold out, and had great gigs in Asia , so we just didn’t get it.

I just hope he is nowhere to be seen in Era 3.

As for us here, at our lovely blog, and I don’t mean to put words in people’s mouths, but we don’t dwell here on any TJR fan fic, cray, or relationship BS. We just talk about their friendship and whether he has grown or not as a guitarist.

Not sure what the motivation was for that post, I saw it this morning, but some of those names are very familiar in the Adam fan world.

If I’ve said anything erroneous, please correct me guys.

Isnt that what counts? How someone who plays in a band, gets better, matured as a player/singer, changed over time? I dont get it anyway, getting so invested in the private life of vips. As long as Adam is happy I dont care who he is sharing is life with. I dont care about Tommy being straight/gay/bi or whatever. I dont care about their fan-service on GNT (even som of it was hot lol)…as long as they are happy…I dont care.

Does that make me a bad fan? Struggle

  10. milwlovesadam says:

No, not at all. I’m glad you’re here. I, for one, am not into all that cray. And, when we are together at shows, in talking to so many of us here, most of us aren’t into it either.

I actually would like to see TJR as part of Era 3. Just need a better, different keys guy, and maybe some other new elements. I would like to see a step up in “class.” Adam needs more polished, more sophisticated, more put together people backing him up.

When I saw live shows, and watched videos from Trespassing, it was like Adam was a beacon of light, energy, fashion, beauty and pure talent. And everyone else on stage just didn’t belong with him.

Methinks he needs to demand more of them. Step off the friend page and into the boss zone.

Maybe he has seen some of this with QAL, and taken a lesson in it. I hope so.

  11. rs says:

No tomatoes mils, but we have been aware for a long time that no band that Adam can afford to put together can match the level of the guys that he has been touring with. It is something that I have been thinking about for a long time. We have been very spoiled. But unless you want to boycott Adam’s concerts, you might not have a choice. But it isn’t just the boys from Queen. Remember how fantastic it was when Adam sang with Nile Rogers and Chic at Aftee?
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsbLEOaiGAM&list=RDgsbLEOaiGAM#t=235
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6SzQ6TA-Y8&list=RDgsbLEOaiGAM&index=3
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsbLEOaiGAM&index=1&list=RDgsbLEOaiGAM

He will have to figure out how his new music will translate to the live stage. In the GNT, since he was the only singer, he used the aid of some supplemental backing tracks, but they restrict the amount of improvisation and freedom he has with the songs. That tour was very scripted, down to his comments to the audience, understandable considering that it was his first tour and he wasn’t that confident. The Vajayjays were live, so that gave him ostensibly more freedom, but they had their own problems. Adam has gained so much confidence on stage through his work with Queen. He knows his own power on stage now. He will still need more voices with him for harmonies, etc, he just has to figure out how and who.

For my part I would love to see Rufus (he sings, too) and TJR. Maybe after the Queen exposure, more experienced musicians will be clamoring to play for him.

  12. milwlovesadam says:

rs, you were reading my mind about Nile. Wink

I would hope that what you said about musicians wanting to play with Adam is true. They would be lucky to get the gigs.

Oh, and I have no intention to boycott Adam’s shows because of a band member. I’m there for Adam, the rest is just icing on a very sweet and delicious cake.

  13. rs says:

It is funny, I read mils first post on the previous page and took a long time composing my response, without seeing all the other posts after her first one. When she mentioned the dancer she didn’t want to see again, I only thought of that young guy in the GNT who didn’t seem to have a neck. What was his name? I forgot all about Johnny, lol.

  14. rs says:

Cait, I didn’t like Monte either, even before the blow-up between them. Monte was the musical director of the show and there was always the feeling that he had a very inflated sense of himself and his role in the show. When he and Adam were duetting, it was more like a contest. He didn’t support Adam, he tried to one-up him. So different from the beautiful harmony between Adam and Brian.

And I personally prefer Tommy’s more melodic picking to Monte’s shredding.

  15. rs says:

mils, of course I know that you would never boycott Adam’s show, no matter who the musicians are. We have eyes only for Adam anyway, don’t we? In Love

Agree with all your posts, mils

I just realized Freddie Roy was not at any of the UK shows. Maybe I didn’t notice?

Had a little Adam/Queen moment at my huge local grocery story this morning. Saturdays is always “sample” day. I see the same lady at the seafood place every week. Yum. Anyway we got talking about our dismal weather, cold, no sun, etc when I mentioned I was in London a week ago where it was sunny & 45 degrees. She asked what I was there for, yada yada yada. She started crying…I kid you not. SHE LOVES ADAM!!! A little downer…her husband who was a huge fan died of a heart attack recently and was his biggest fan. She asked the usual…are they touring around here?”, things that we’ve all heard before and had to answer no.

Anyway I will be bringing her a jlurk NYE DVD, Trespassing, FYE, and GN DVD (hope I have some extras, lol).

I’d love to have a gift bag of all his “vinyl” so far for fans like this. Maybe I can put together something like this. All wrapped up in a rhinestone encrusted box. Smile

  18. luval says:

Where do solo musicians get their backing bands? Are they session people who have graduated to touring? Adam knows so many people in the music biz but does he know true musicians? Maybe the label will help him out with this but personalities have to mesh. That’s why he uses friends because he knows them. Yup, loyalty.

Agree with all of your comments regarding band and dancers.
    Monte is just no.
Tommy has grown a lot and needs more confidence, but when he lets it go, it’s great. His playing on Red House at WinStar was awesome! And I’m sure he will be part of Adam’s band. I too would love to see Rufus on drums.

  26. rs says:

Yes Cait, I was just trying to figure out today how long ago it was that the tour ended. I was at my father’s tonight and he had an athletics championship on the TV and it was being held at the O2 Arena in Prague, and I yelled out, That is where I was! Just three and a half weeks ago!

Honestly, if I had $3 million dollars to buy a new home, I wouldn’t have chosen the same one. I like Adam’s taste in clothes (except for tartan trousers!) but not in houses. Big Smile

    The layout baffles me. Confused

Beautiful art deco door opens to a beautiful black wood floor hallway that leads to a room. You walk into this room and there’s a TV wall on the left, a corner fireplace, and a sofa on the right wall across from the TV. Directly ahead are sliding glass doors leading outside to a stone floor patio.

What’s wrong with this picture? Laugh

This is a contained room. There isn’t a hallway off to the right or to the left of this room. The only way to proceed is to go forward through the sliding glass doors.

So, you have to briefly go outside to get to the rest of the house?!

I imagine there’s roofing because, what if it’s raining and you’re just waking up in your underwear, and want to go make coffee in the kitchen at the back of the house? Razz

What would the neighbors think? Laugh

  32. riskylady says:

Here’s an article with a little background on Brian London, Tommy and Rick (the last drummer) and how they knew each other. I don’t know that it’s fair to say Adam hired only friends. Some (Tommy, Ashley,Cam, maybe even Isaac and Longineu – former drummers – auditioned for their gigs.
    http://www.americanbluesscene.com/2013/08/brian-london-the-blues-feels-good/
Definitely, Monte was friend and influenced casting the GN band, with Tommy as bass instead of guitar. They all became friends over the course of the first tour.
With Monte gone, Adam gave by-that-time loyal friend Tommy the guitarist position, and they selected Ashley for bass. Cam went with UhHuhHer, and after a short interlude with one of Brian’s associates, Brian himself came on board. Could have been through a call out, or referenced by Tommy.
Don’t think Longineu, or later Isaac were friends, but chosen after a call. And Rick was known to Brian, so in a pinch was called in when Isaac went on tour.
The dancers, yes, except for the brilliant Sasha, friends all.
The Vijajays as I understand were backups for Jill Scott.
Aside from some tiny annoyances (Brian singing sometimes, backups singing too loud) I thoroughly enjoyed Adam’s many concerts. Including the WAG tour finale in Helsinki, with the really adorable choreography for Cuckoo and other songs. Just the right amount. It’s different when you see it live, goes by so quickly – no time to rewatch, analyse, etc. From videos, the int’l audiences had a blast and the tour did very very well.
The concerts after that here in the US were good IMHO. Enjoyed San Diego, Fountainbleu, NYE in Oklahoma. I go to see HIM, not stress over the band.
I’ll be fine, whatever he comes up with. But if there’s R&B/bluesy stuff, we may see some Tommy again. Don’t know about the others. He – like Bri and Roger – wants to work with people who aren’t “shits,” who he likes and trusts. And he may not go on tour right away, so may not provide steady work for them.
It’s telling that after two int’l tours and scores of one-off gigs, there were no scandals, no trashed hotel rooms, trouble with band or crew. No revelations about Adam. (Except caused by Adam himself lol, but that wasn’t during tour.)
So, we just have to wait and see.

  33. riskylady says:

Dear Ron, just to the left of that gorgeous door is a stairway with a glass brick wall, leading to the main living areas upstairs.

  35. Cait1602 says:

risky thank you for the information! I do think its better to have at least some on the stage you trust and know instead of working with strangers all around. Give you some comfort, safe zone while on tour and the knowledge that nothing personal gets out.

RS…I agree with this statement too, there was just something about him that I didn’t like or warm to….I prefer Tommy too…his guitar skills have improved a lot, and we don’t know how much further he has progressed over the last couple of years.
And Mils..no tomatoes from me either, agree with your post..
I think Isaac was his best drummer, but would love to see Rufus take on the role, they already have such an amazing rapport, and he won’t be doing anything with Queen till Adams back. I didn’t really like Brian on keyboard either, he just never really felt on the same wavelength as Adam
And the girls…I often thought they sounded off, and I didn’t feel their voices meshed well with Adams at all…He did one tv show in the UK (maybe Graham Norton) where he had male backup singers, and their voices went so much better together.
And agree, no Johnny….Terrance (cute dimples) and Sasha yes.

  40. Calgary says:

Ron If you look carefully at all the pix, and try to draw a plan you will see that the house is a shallow U shape. Looking from the street/front door, the hall goes up the left arm of the U to the den. Across the bottom of the U, to the right of the front door is the formal living room – one side looks over the street and hills, the other opens to the back yard. The right hand arm of the U is the kitchen/breakfast nook. Haven’t quite placed the dining room yet, guessing it it the bottom corner of the right arm. ETA: Yep, you can see the wine coolers in the distance in one of the living room shots.
EATA: For heaven’s sake, do I have nothing better to do? I started sorting my cd’s an hour ago and they’re all still sitting in piles on the counter!

  41. angelowal says:

mils, no tomatoes from me either Grin , I too agree with all you said. I do think that now Adam has proven credibility as an artist, he could even attract some high calibre musicians to ‘guest’ with him while on an album promotional tour. I saw Dire Straits here in Hamilton some years ago, and Peter Frampton was their guest guitarist for that entire tour. (That was a killer concert with the great Mark Knoffler and Peter Frampton playing together – they sure didn’t earn their ‘money for nothing’ on that tour Wink ).

As others here have said, what’s really important is that Adam have people around and behind him whom he trusts and can count on in all ways, from musicianship to loyalty and discretion. I think he has sound judgement and reliable advisors and what appears to be a good label directing and supporting his career.
Can’t wait for the Spring release!

  42. angelowal says:

Just got ping’d by Shazam, promoting 10 new videos. I think this will be a very useful device for Adam’s music and they’ll have a huge reach, world-wide, and customized for each individual country.

  43. HK fan says:

Wonder how different the house looks now with Adams furniture and decor in it???

  44. milwlovesadam says:

Love the house pics, and the layout is interesting, especially for those of us in cold climates. I always can tell when a school setting is shot in California ( Glee I’m looking at you ) and is supposed to be in , for instance, Ohio ( Glee again ) and has outdoor cafeteria seating and outdoor passes to classes. No way!!! That is simply not how we have schools, malls or most buildings in cold climates.

I’ve never been down south ( except for a week in Nawlins once ) or to California, besides the climate, I would love to see the architecture.

About the band, I remember from at least 5 years ago, an audition video, of Adam and others at auditions for dancers and band members. I remember Adam clapping and giving approval.

And, of course, risky, Adam does become friends with his band and singers and dancers. And that friendship brings loyalty, and some people, who, IMHO, I just don’t think are strong enough band members for him now.

I also remember some reviews on TSP shows, and Glamily, that stated that the band was weak. And that the dancers were distracting. And that the singers were off-putting , both vocally and visually.

True, I’m all eyes and ears on Adam during a show. Especially when way up close, but, I just have some hopes for the next tour, whenever that may be.
