February went roaring out like a lion with Queen and Adam wrapping up their sold-out 26 city tour of Europe and UK. March is all Lambert as he heads home or to a possible vacation spot for a well-deserved rest. That will be short-lived though as the promo for The Original High picks up with the single release GHOST TOWN scheduled for April 21st.

This month’s main photo is from the BRITs red carpet. Adam attended the event with the head of the Warner Brothers label and just happened to be in the neighborhood.

    Maybe the radio shows should heed these tweets/requests….with the internet, we can listen to radio stations all over and quite often tune in to UK and US radio stations. Just because they’re outside the area doesn’t mean they’re not listening.

    The problem is that the radio stations only care about those listeners within their advertising reach – that’s who pay the bills.

    sistasif – just a little shout out. Thanks so much for providing us ALL a sweet sendoff when I don’t manage to get here (usually nights when I’ve fallen asleep on the couch and it takes all my energy just to make it into bed). Takes away some of the guilt for letting all the wonderful folks here down knowing that you’ll most likely cover for me!!

    Still job hunting. My dream job (of course) is Legal Counsel to Mr. Adam Lambert but I’ve apply to a bunch of others that sound interesting. Enjoying spending extra time with family and friends and QAL and ALL! And with all the snow this winter (got 8-10 inches today!), glad I haven’t had to go out too much!

    I loved this blog. I’ve never seen any of the posts before! The part where she is watching the NYE show had me in tears. (That is very hard to do) I filled out the “follow” to see if there is any more to come. Even the vocal expertise is great. She knows what she’s talking about.

    Totally off topic…I just heard a clip of Nathan Sykes (from The Wanted) first solo effort. I really like it. Very bluesy. I did catch a couple of episodes of the reality show they did called “The Wanted Life” last year and thought they were quite talented.

    I love that badassalterego blog! She analyses the voices, like Angelina Kalahari used to do (haven’t heard anything from her this tour. Wonder if she went) gives the perspective of an old Queenie, and of course has fallen in love with Adam. And she writes so well!

    Yesterday she said that the doc x-rayed her ankle and said that it is completely healed! Yay! Of course, she still needs crutches and a lot of PT, but this is a faster recovery than expected.

    I think riskylady’s suggestion that we add the shazam app to our phones is a good one. It will be up to WB to make sure that Adam’s new single is added to the playlists they use in malls and shops, so that we can shazam it. RCA/Sony in Canada was very good with that. All three of Adam’s FYE cd singles were added to the playlists in Toronto and I heard them quite a bit. I don’t remember that happening with Trespassing.

    BTW, if you live in a small radio market, there is no point in calling your local radio station to request Adam. Last time around, fans were told by small stations that they piggyback onto the marketing research of the regional stations and follow their lead. It is better to listen to your biggest regional radio station.

    Calling to request an artist is not as good as participating in the weekly song polls. Calling tags you as a fan. The weekly poll tags you as a regular listener (and an ostensibly more objective one.) Grin

    Using shazam since it was First mentioned. It easy but dont know how many ppl in germany really use it. Never heard of it before.

    We all thought and talked a lot about how to support Adam during the Trespassing cd era, Cait. The rules have changed a lot in the interim and we will probably be doing the same thing this time around.

    BTW, there is some online talk about iTunes pre-sales not being counted in the week that a song is released. Instead they will be reported in the week that the purchase is made.

    Some people are advocating waiting ’til day one to make a splash. I don’t see this as a particularly good idea because:

    a) everybody (including Beyonce and Gaga) is affected by this rule and everyone’s opening day sales will be reduced accordingly

    b) labels probably use pre-sales to gauge support for the singer/cd and if pre-sales look weak they may be tempted to pull back on some of their promotional initiatives/cut their losses.

    You can’t buck the system. The best way is to support Adam: put your encouraging 2 cents worth in as soon as you can.

    P.S. People are saying that only iTunes is doing it this way. If so, then we can buy a pre-sell cd from Amazon and buy another cd from iTunes on the day of the sale.

    They generally all do pre-sells, Cait, including the label. We were able to purchase both of Adam’s prior cd’s on his RCA website and Adam’s new label will probably offer us the same option as well.

    HDD and Soundscan report weekly sales using the figures supplied by iTunes, Amazon, retail chains like Walmart, etc.

    iTunes is simply saying that they will not hold the pre-sells and report them on the day of their official release; they will report pre-sells in the week that they happen.

    TLKC, thanks for the mention! I have to give credit though to the actual suggestion of getting Shazam on our devices/smartphones to your very own lovely Scottish-Canadian angelowal. And a good one it is. I’m very happy to see Warner Music partner with Shazam, they are obviously looking for every angle.
    I also read somewhere that Pandora is the largest streamer by a big margin, something to keep in mind. And we should definitely follow your advice about radio station polls too.
    Just adds more to our modern education, after Twitter, YouTube, Vine, Instagram, Tumblr, et al. Don’t have time to celebrate any birthdays after 29.
