The musical force that is Adam is marching full speed ahead. With recent appearances on Drag Race, AI and Glee, he is making his way back into the limelight (not that he ever left it for us here). With a news conference set for Thursday, March 6th at Madison Square Garden, we are sure to find out details of a Queen + AL tour. So get ready to jump on the bus! Oh, and don’t forget that Adam is still appearing on Glee and working on his own music too!
With the special announcement coming it was suggested to use a Q+AL photo for this month’s header. But what about all the other great photos from last month? Oh, the dilemma! Well, I hope this photo is a compromise. Taken at the London show by Mark Gledhill (glemazon), it shows Adam in the shadows about to emerge into the full spotlight. Cross your whatsits so that this tour results in getting this multi-talented performer the respect and recognition that he merits.

I think I remember reading that Idol contestants have to give a certain percentage of there earnings to Idol. Does anyone remember for how long, and would his Queen earnings be part of that?

I need help from the experts here on choosing seats. I have ended up with two sets for the Calgary show in the Saddledome, which is a typical big arena. But I normally don’t go to rock concerts there because the acoustics aren’t great. So I am clueless as to which set of tix I should keep.
One set are VIP Tour (the cheaper ones). They are 10 rows up from the floor on stage left and about 10 feet back from the stage, equivalent to about Row 5 on the floor. It seems they would be really close but at a real angle. The other tix are just regular tix, Row 17 up on stage right, back quite a way, equivalent to Row 39 on the floor. Any suggestions?

ETA: I can’t find any information as to how long that lasts. I can’t imagine that it goes on ad infinitum. Perhaps as long as they are under that first contract? Apparently that first contract is much cushier than the usual newbie contract.

Hard to say without section info, Calgary. General rule of thumb: the closer the better but not so close that you can’t see the jumbotron.
I read somewhere that the first few winners were tied to Idol for 7 years. That time period was apparently reduced at some point but I’m not sure when. If it was then Adam is probably out-of-the-woods. By the time he and Queen go on the road, 5 years will have passed.
TLKC The tix at the Saddledome are Section 107, Row 10 seats 17-19 and Section 225, Row 4, seats 14-16.

Congrats to all of you/us who were able to get another chance for another concert and with great seats! The Duke and I got Boston within 10 minutes(!) with fairly good seats using just Fan presale and could have done the best if we did VIP. What we have is the best Arena seats so far. Still decent seats for sale in Boston as I write! Mohegan Sun not so good…although still good VIP Tour fan seats available. So these additional venues without as much hoopla as before or with fans locked into airline tkts or fans at work this morning with no way to plan seem to be having slower sales.

Calgary – Section 107 is the better place IMHO. You are 10th row from the floor to the side of the stage. Your seats are furthest from the stage in that section. A good thing because they are the best angle in that section.
Here is the interactive map for Calgary in case anyone else wants to weigh in. The 225 section is effectively 17th row from the floor and further away from the stage along the side. The stage is on the right-hand side for this event.

Double check yourself again but that’s what it looks like to me.
Depends where the jumbotron is. If the JT is too far forward, you might have an angle problem. But that is questionable.
calgary Forgive my jumping in here to comment on your tickets, but truly the Sec. 107, row 10 seats 17-19 are the superior seats. You’re located at the best end of the row, closest to sec. 108 so will have a darn good view of stage, despite not seeing it full on from the front. The 2nd tier seats are good too, but not close to the view you’ll get from Sec. 107.
Try using this interactive seating map – just use the + – signs on the rt. corner to zoom in and out to your sections. Keep zooming in until the actual seats start to show.
