Thirty years ago Queen inaugurated the first Rock in Rio. It was a very special moment in their history. They’re back to celebrate their music this time with Adam. Let’s see how historic this performance will be. With over 80,000 fans expected, the “City of Rock” will definitely not be a ghost town!
QAL part of the concert starts at midnight BRT.

    Missed the stream, went for a hike. was very tempted to stay in, but really need the exercise!!!
    sounds like it was amazing..
    according to a post at MJS the official stream filters out some the crowd noise at times which would explain the crowd not sounding into it at times.
    watched WATC…I thought he sounded a little hoarse..or maybe it was just the emotions getting to him, still amazing though.

    I am glad its morning here, no way I could sleep now after THAT show despite of short night sleep… Adrenaline high. Going from twitter here and back. I want the whole thing again! It was so raw and real, so intense because of the set list changes and very rapid moving from one song to the next.

    Adam was very emotional during we are the champions. He was smiling through the whole song. Looking at Brian like is this really happening? The crowd was very loud at the last two songs. He stopped singing to hear the crowd

    The band cracked into a revved up version of ‘One Vision’ and in a blur it was over – the whole song was an assault on the senses. Then came ‘Stone Cold Crazy’; the place was literally shaking with the power of the crowd and band united as one, and the smiles, yes, the smiles on the these Brazilian faces was so heartwarming, THIS was Rock n’ Soul. And so it went on; Adam working the crowd like the consumet front man he has now become, the chant of “Brian May! Brian May!” and the B-stage introduction of Roger that nearly took the roof off. Where were these extra levels of energy coming from? I am not going to apologise for getting carried away, I have not experienced such a gig of this intensity.” …..

    I just said to my daughter Renata ,when I showed her a bit of a vid showing the crowd…you just can’t imagine the feelings you’d get standing on a stage in front of that many people (estimated 80-100k), and hearing them all singing along and chanting your name….just amazing. You can totally understand it affecting Adam at times…I was choked up watching the video…goodness knows how you must have felt being there.

    So I set the alarm for 6:00am and started watching from bed on the AOL channel. After about an hour is suddenly became “unavailable”. Switched to the Brazilian TV channel which was OK but kept freezing. So I got up and came to my desktop and watched uninterrupted till the end. I wonder if the different streams were showing exactly the same thing. As fabulous as it was getting the clear feed from the mics and hearing Adam’s voice loud and clear, I was missing the sound and excitement from the crowd. You couldn’t hear how loud the cheering, applause, or sing-along was. Also, it was obvious that the videographer didn’t know the show, because the camera wasn’t on Adam for some of his epic moves, like the “ride” from FBG or the moment he came oout draped in the Brazilian flag. I was also aware and frustrated, along with Adam, at the technical problems that affected Save Me and made him keep fiddling with his earpiece.

    Of course these are minor things, and from their ecstatic faces, and renata’s report, it is clear that the show was a great success and that they loved Adam. I am so glad for Adam and the Boys……..and those awful reviewers can go f**k themselves!

    Ok so I am home and I can’t sleep. Adam doesn’t seen to do it either since he is posting the sun rising. We’re high on adrenaline still.
    About the show… It was the best show of my life. I was right in the middle of the crowd, right by the lighting booth. PEOPLE LOVED IT!!! Make no mistake. At the start of the show everybody was singing along and really excited about seeing Queen.I must say at the begining they were paying attention to Brian and Roger and focused on the songs but that completely changed with Killer Queen and DSMN. After that all focus was on Adam. People were going crazy about his voice, how funny and adorable he was.
    There were some tech issues on Save Me. It seems that Adam couldn’d hear himself or the band so he missed some lyrics but that was completely forgetten after WWTLF. THAT WAS A SHOW STOPPING MOMENT! The last part of the show was completely insane, sometimes was hard to even hear Adam people were singing so loud and jumping. And Adam was very emotional on WATC. I took some vídeos, but if I being honest they problaby look like shit because I just put my phone up high and recorded. Couldn’d take my eyes of Adam and was enjoying the concert so much. But I will upload them just so you can get the feeling of what it was like in the middle of it all.
    Sorry again about the spelling and my english. With emotions running high it was hard to think and type in english.
    I will bring the link over when I download the vídeos.
    I will never fortget this day.

    Awww. Renata. We know the feeling you are experiencing. Awe and amazeballs!! This is a new fan for Adam. I am bringing the whole thing over for Al because he doesn’t have Facebook.     E é exatamente essa a impressão que eu tive ao assistir ao show do Queen + Adam Lambert no Rock in Rio 2015.
    Não me delongarei em relação a iniciativa e participação de Brian May e do Roger Taylor – Official, pois estou de pleno acordo e com plena satisfação desses kras voltarem a tocar e a compor em uma da maiores bandas de Rock da história. Eu tive imensa euforia em ve-los na ativa e orgasmos múltiplos em vê-los no palco ao vivo.
    Porém, o impacto que Freddie Mercury causou na cultura musical e na cultura geral contemporânea é indiscutível e se certa forma insubstituível.
    Foi o mestre dos mestres em inúmeras questões: Vocais, teatrais, culturais. histórica e etc. Sou fã de carteirinha.
    Contudo, a impressão que Adam Lambert causou, nenhum outro poderia ter causado. Primeiramente pq nenhum outro poderia ter abraçado essa responsa que ele abraçou e executado de maneira tão bem maestral: Cantou bem, afinado, empostado, presenciado, extensivo, dinâmico, artístico e acima de tudo, foi muitoooo tranquilo, passivo em todos os sentidos…rsrs, mas ativo, no sentido que todo Frontman precisa ser. E em nenhum momento mostrou tensão que prejudicasse a sua desenvoltura.
    Ou seja: Sou seu fã Adam Lambert. Como vocalista eu garanto que eu estou de olho em você. E como apreciador da arte, estou te olhando de longe, pois assim talvez eu tenha a impressão de que vc nos preencha essa falta que o Freddie nos faz. Sucessooooooo!!!

    I am up. 3hours+ sleep. But I get up every day at 5am so my internal body clock automatically opens my eyes. I even just went on a mile run. What a night. The streams I had were basically just the Adam & the band’s voice so I’m anxious to hear crowd reactions. And now I’ll go listen to the youtube. To hell with what I have to do today. Epic unbelieveable history made. Am sorry the US could have cared less. To hell with super bowl and every other event that snubs him & them! (although I think I’ll e-mail the concert to super bowl lol!)

    I am still on such a freaking high all through the day. Grinning like a crazy nut that ppl are asking “You ok? You are freaking us out a bit with your loony grinning” But really how can I now?

    You guys now that I adore Adam through and through – since January my heart which was beating only for Queen before falling in love with his voice. What he has done today….what he has giving Brian and Roger today – boy Adam will always be in my heart without chance of ever going away.

    The Queenie in me…seeing Brian and Roger so happy, so in love with their music, so carefree and full of life after everything they have gone through – I cant describe how that makes me feel. Every smile and laugh I will remember, every moment of this concert. It was everything. I am so happy for them. So so freaking happy for them that they met Adam, that he gave them the gift of his voice.

    The love between them, the friendship…no not friendship anymore. They are a family, the dynamic in the stage – you feel that they arent doing just for themselves, for the joy. They are doing all this for the fans, for their music and for Freddie and John.

    What Brian did with GhostTown…that was his personal homage to Adam, thanking him for everything. And what a beautiful gift he has giving us all.

    And still so emotional…crying again. Seems like I am doing nothing today but crying and grinning. What a day

    I just watched the concert again while wide awake (not like at 6:00 am this morning) and on my TV screen, not big screen, but certainly bigger than my computer screen. I have to say that this time I was much more aware of the audience love and participation, ad well as the smaller details that I missed on first watch. Adam couldn’t take that huge grin off of his face while singing WATC, and that made me smile, laugh and cry at the same time. I am just so happy for him, and for Roger and Brian, of course. They all deserve every accolade they get. THIS. BAND. CANNOT. STOP. PERFORMING. THEY. ARE. JUST. TOO. GOOD.

    I keep thinking what would have happened if, in the audition for AI, they had put him through after his first song, by Michael Jackson, and not have asked him for another song, which is when he sang BoRap. Would people still have contacted Brian about the incredible guy who could sing their songs? Would he and Roger have come to the finale? Would QAL have happened? I like to think that it was karma and meant to happen. Otherwise why would they have asked the guy with the best voice in all the auditions to date (according to Paula) to sing a second song?
