Adam calendar photoshoot – Lee Cherry of Cherry Soda Studios

After what seems like an eternity after announcing the Queen + Adam Lambert tour in March, it will finally happen. Adam is in London preparing before the show kicks off in Chicago on June 19th! Plenty of ALLers will be attending the shows and as usual, we will be creating souvenir threads. Cannot wait to see the videos, photos and recaps!

    Thanks for the Freddie Mercury Tribute Show video, asif. George Michael really did a great job on Somebody to Love. Liza looked great – really together in those days. They all seem so young now. If I recall correctly, Axel Rose had made some very hateful, homophobic comments at some point in the previous year and Elton John had made a point of reaching out to him. Their joint appearance here was seen as a healing of the matter. Was Axel’s removal of his kilt and the white pants a deliberate recollection of the famously outrageous white pants that Freddie peeled down to on tour?

    I was never a fan of Longineu either luval….always seemed a bit shifty to me.

    Love the pics from Sutans party, he looks hot, and a bit of a bad boy…..I have missed the eye makeup. And whilst I love him any which way, he has been looking a tiny bit safe recently.

    Sorry luval. Eeyore is glum and morose, which sort of fits Longineau. Ringo looks glum and, if you ever watched SATC, Miranda is the red-headed one who is never happy.

    Tigger is the one who gets into trouble. Disney portrays him as very bouncy – a characteristic of Adam that many fans mentioned during GN (especially our very own mils). Laugh

    Winnie-the-Pooh is just a very successful template for character interaction. In Seinfeld: Jerry is Pooh; Kramer is Tigger, Elaine is Piglet and George is Eeyore.

    It wouldn’t be surprising if One Direction fit the template, too. The 5th OD member would be Rabbit (i.e. “hardly there”.) HK fan’s daughter might be able to answer that.

    Me, too, luval, though I didn’t get into SATC until the last season. I was on a business trip in Bangkok and had to stay up for reasons of jet lag. The 6th finale season was about to start and they had a season 5 marathon on TV. Hooked by the 3rd episode. The first movie was great, too. Hated the second one though.

    Miranda did get on my nerves. Her husband was a nice guy; flawed but nice.

    I loooooooved Carrie’s wardrobe. When she moved to Paris at the end I just swooned over everything she wore. Carrie was my favorite.

    Leno Sleepwalker was my favorite eye makeup to this day. If the Queen thing was around then, these are the eyes I’d want to see in the arena. Sparkly!!

    It’s an acquired taste, HK fan. The show had never grabbed me for more than 10 minutes. If it weren’t for that TV marathon, I wouldn’t get it either.

    The wardrobe was a big part of the appeal. SJP is not super-pretty – i.e. not off-putting – so you can look at her and her clothes without feeling a sense of despair about your own looks or wardrobe. She also broke a lot of fashion rules to very good effect, which channels the same kind of confidence that Adam talks about: wearing what you want to; not shrinking from looks you like because you don’t think you can pull it off.

    Ha! Rogers used the same phrase I’ve been using for the tour “a moveable feast”. I posted that here and on Queenonline. Did he read it? (Probably not, because he is referring to moving songs on the set list. I was referring to the concert tour itself).

    AL Late to the party here because Ive been travelling across Alberta and Saskatchewan wi-fi free (!!!!) but I too have MusicSafe Pro earplugs, recommended by a rock band drummer. You def. need something, and for me the foamies just aren’t enough.

    “A Moveable Feast” is the title of one of my favorite books. It is a memoir by Ernest Hemingway about his years in Paris as part of the expatriate writers in the 1920s. So the old description of my favorite city (along with Venice) is being used to describe what will surely be the deliciousness of my favorite singer’s upcoming tour. Perfect! Dance

    Me, too, rs. The idea of carrying the fullnesses of an intensely lived and deeply felt life with you wherever you go. Hemingway was talking about his time in Paris but it could be anywhere and anytime, depending on the who you are.

    To me, the tour itself is precisely that – a moveable feast. Roger is exactly of the age to have read and admired Hemingway. Not a surprising phrase to come from him.

    TLKC, I never went that deep into the phrase. I always thought it was just a wonderful description of Paris and the life they live there.

    By the way, did you get the invitation I sent you to see my Tanzania photos? I sent it to you a few weeks ago, since you had expressed interest in seeing them.
