Adam calendar photoshoot – Lee Cherry of Cherry Soda Studios

After what seems like an eternity after announcing the Queen + Adam Lambert tour in March, it will finally happen. Adam is in London preparing before the show kicks off in Chicago on June 19th! Plenty of ALLers will be attending the shows and as usual, we will be creating souvenir threads. Cannot wait to see the videos, photos and recaps!

    Yes, Sam Smith got three stars at RS – “The Male Adele and His Infinite Melancholy” – very nice voice, but, like RS, find him “a bit bland.” (But then not an Adele fan either.)

    Yeah, ulti agree, really like them too. I put the link to the AM because they are playing the same theater Queen is, so I thought people might want to see it before Monday. On now. I am having a music night.

    Love Sam Smith and Arctic Monkeys.
    I got an Arctic Monkeys’ song on a free itunes download a couple of years ago called, “Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I Moved Your Chair”. It had a sixties, Doors kind of sound to it.

    OMG. Or should I say “Oh Geez?” What a show. Loved the movie, it’s so dark and twisted and funny, the series is so incredibly well written. I hope it wins tons of awards. Billy Bob is a master.

    Like the more “altoish” female voice – like here – or Colbie Caillat – has a new EP – or Toni Braxton (“Love, Marriage, and Divorce” w/Babyface). Too many female singers go all-out in the higher range – chalk on a blackboard.

    “Fargo” was a dark, very funny movie, mils – but have never seen the series (of course – lol). Maybe if I bought a TV from this century (literally) I’d like it more.

    I’ve read that shows with big production/staging will have 2-3 sets of materials and that while performing in one city, another crew is setting up in a different city so that the shows can go on one day after another, and then be constantly setting up and breaking down on schedule.

    That’s how the Rolling Stones have been doing it for years, mils. I read about it in an article abut their tour many years ago. Glad that Adam will experience the rush (and the safety) of that. It’s a costly enterprise since it requires booking the venue for two nights. Only the biggest bands can afford the luxury of that.

    OMG, mils! I watched Fargo the series for the first time last night. Two episodes. It was amazing, right down to the closing credits. Dr. Watson from the UK/ Benjamin Cumberbatch Sherlock series was in it; with a American accent to boot.

    It is very good. Chilling and atmospheric. Don’t you just hate Billy Bob Thornton?

    We’ve been watching Fargo from the beginning. Last nights episode was epic in a terrifying sort of way. The close calls last night with Billy Bob on the loose were so scary. I almost expect the Jaws music to play when he’s out there…..dum dum dum dum dum dum……..

    aely, luval, firstimerob, thanks for your info. I felt so lucky, and relieved, to sell three tickets (was afraid I’d end up with one leftover) and the buyer brought cash, so no issues. And she felt lucky that she’d been able to find three tickets together! So it was happy dances all around. It was my kijiji ad that she saw. Phew!

    Question on the shows: Is there an opening act? I’m going to the Vancouver show with my sister, who has been invited to a wedding that evening and she’s trying to figure out what time we need to get there. Any ideas?
    So the bad part of this is – I don’t see how I can meet up with you other ALLers Big Frown

    Thanks for that info, ultimathule. It’s all getting too exciting now! Interviews, dress rehearsal concert and then lots and lots of you tubing until the Melbourne shows in August..WooHoo! and my concert tickets arrived today. It’s really going to happen. Impossible to comprehend.

    I think that the stage set for Queen + Adam Lambert is going to consist of more than plexiglass steps and two large coffee tables.

    Oh but what he did with those coffee tables and especially the steps. I don’t think that some of us have recovered from those steps, even after years In Love Chic

    It boggles my mind to think of the spectacle that the boys will put on this tour with the funds that they have at their disposal. Of course, with their talent and voices (especially our BB’s voice shining through) they could perform on a bare stage and it would mesmerize the crowd. In the past years shows have gotten bigger and more extravagant (maybe to make up for the lack of singing ability, lol, so people have come to expect it, especially in an arena show.
