Riskylady, Thanks so much for clearing that up for me! It’s a shame that some people have to deliberately give out false info. Is Delain the same woman that sang Ring of Fire in the Middle Eastern version that Adam emmulated? I think she was on “Who Wants to be a Rock Star?” a few years ago.

Hi funbunn40, & welcome. I have been reading your posts.
Dilana Robichaux, is the singer you are thinking, who the runner-up on, Rockstar Supernova. She also has gone by Dilana Smith. She is originally from South Africa.

  3. milwlovesadam says:

Can someone explain the brouhaha about NPH and Adam comparisons?

    I don’t see it at MJ’s….

  4. luval says:

    Regarding his google hangout thing.

    Linderella Wink ‏@ScorpioBert 32s

I got no questions for Adam that he will answer, lol

    hahaha

  5. luval says:

I didn’t hear anything about that, mils.

  6. aely says:

I haven’t read or heard anything either about any comparisons between the two.

  7. luval says:

mj had a live blog last night for the Tony’s. The only thing I saw was someone made a comment “that was almost an Adam Lambert moment”. They were referring to Alan Cumming’s Cabaret performance with all the eye liner on. I was almost going to answer “what do you mean by that?” to stir things up, but I let it go and no one else replied to them either.

  8. funbunn40 says:

Thanks twilightmagic8! Appreciate the welcome and solving this mystery of Delain and Dilana! Now I remember Dilana! She was my fave on that program.

  9. milwlovesadam says:

    Okay. Thanks.

I loved loved loved the Tony’s last night. Hugh Jackman was incredible. Alan Cummings never ceases to be perfect. And NPH. WOW. Such an entertainer.

And, am I alone in this, but, if THAT was Jackman singing live: Where the hell was his “live” voice in Les Mis?

    LOL

  10. Miss Chaos says:

Ha, RockStar Supernova, Best TV show Ever! Maybe they can have it again to look for a singer for Queen!!!!! ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL

    This is a joke Guys!

  17. luval says:

And riskylady, thanks for that article on the current music biz. Very interesting and almost a bit scarey. Things have moved and are moving sooooo fast. I’m way behind as usual.

  18. funbunn40 says:

TLKC, Thanks so much for the welcome! Do you live in Chicago? It’s where I was raised. Thanks for the Canadian info! I used to watch the Chicago Blackhawks play hockey and I remember Stan Mikita. My friend in highschool, many years ago and I met all of the players. They were in a long receiving line and every one of them were missing their top teeth. I had a mad crush on a player named Ed Litzenberger. I also wondered what happened to Mike Myers. Bernie Sahlins an originator of Second City was a patient of an Orthopedist for whom I worked and I used to see him and his beautiful wife quite often. So many of the SNL cast members started out there. I also remember seeing The Bohemian Rhapsody bit when it was aired and thought it was hilarious! Big Smile

  19. luval says:

I loved that show Rockstar Super Nova too!

  20. milwlovesadam says:

I had an Adam moment at work today. I was in a patient’s room at the hospital, and the nurse asked me if I had seen my concert yet. The patient, who I have worked with for a month now, asked which concert. The patient’s sister and husband were visiting.

Turns out they are big music fans from California.

    I said “Queen.”

The husband jumped up. Got all excited. Opened up his jacket, and underneath was a Queen Tshirt!!

He is seeing the show in Cali, and asked me if I had ever heard of Adam Lambert.

    LOLOLOLOL

I calmly said ” Yes. I really like him.”

The GUY, that’s right, the GUY, said “He’s fantastic. I was looking at his Queen stuff the other day on You Tube, ever since I bought my tickets, I have been ‘researching’ him.”

I had to self-talk to avoid falling over and flailing.

    1) A man knew about Adam.
    2) He was researching him.
    3) He is crazy for his voice, and is a huge Freddie fan.

    So.

I asked him what he had been watching. He said “everything with Queen.” I told him about a few choice tidbits, especially WLL LA, and FS.

I’ll be gifting him a CD tomorrow.

If he is able to liten/watch and report back to me, I’ll let you all know.

What really cracks me up is that the whole time, the WIFE was rolling her eyes at her husband. LOLOLOL

Here is an example. It is just like mixing twitter, facebook and youtube.

  22. luval says:

Great story, mils. Want to mention everyone at work is sick. Cough, sore throat, bronchitis type stuff. I’m livid. Why don’t they stay home? If I get sick I’m gonna shoot someone.

The difference with your stories and mine, mils, is when Queen or Adam are brought up I immediately go into the Adam obsession, traveling, show, etc. etc. etc! Hard to shut me up.

  23. milwlovesadam says:

luval, I sometimes have to literally bite my lip a bit or pinch myself. I have “gone there” in limited moments, but later regret letting my cray out. Especially at work.

This story just makes me so happy.

  24. luval says:

mils…I must be more professional Smile. I”m trying to be more professional. lol. Like Byrone Cooke & Adam said in that interview…they are both trying to be more professional.

  25. ultimathule says:

Yeah – it’s really the cherry on the top when a guy is so enthusiastic, mils.

  26. kinkykiedis says:

Thanks aely for the info. I’m presuming this will be where Adams interview will be so I subscribed and told my twitter feed to as well. Big Smile

  27. kinkykiedis says:

Of course as well as his own You Tube channel. I love how he’s connecting with us, he’s just the most kindest caring man <3

  28. ultimathule says:

I loved that show Rockstar Super Nova too!

Me too luval! The ambiance of the bohemian lounge, along with vintage lantern lighting was right up my alley.
My husband & I went to see INXS with JD Fortune, at the Chinook Winds Casino on the Oregon Coast. We had a fun time, and made a fun weekend out of it. I always loved that group, and was heart broken when Micheal Hutchence unexpectedly died.
Also loved Ty Taylor, with his signature Mohawk then.

The next year, Rock Star Supernova was fun as well. More of a grown up show, with more grit & edgy. Loved that that too!

Sweet Researching Fantastic Adam Dreams, ALL!!
(Thanks, mils! – Loved your story)

Mils, I absolutely loved your story! But, what got me, was when the lady rolled her eyes, at a straight man fan-boying & flailing over Adam…Priceless!!!!! Heart

  34. sparkle says:

I think that mils’ story is fantastic but is not that unexpected. True Queen fans (and it seems that their male fans outnumber their female fans but I have no statistics to back that up) are very excited and happy to see Queen touring again and are generally willing to give Adam a chance to prove himself. My husband, who is an eye-roller when it comes to Adam’s concerts, is getting quite excited about the Toronto concert. He doesn’t say so but listening to Queen’s music on his iphone at every opportunity is a dead giveaway. And I am shocked that he is willing to go to a second concert with me in Atlantic City! Association with Queen seems to give Adam credibility with men in general and that can only be a good thing! World domination – Resistance is futile!!!

Hi kinkykiedis, so glad you have come out of your lurking.
I was just curious if you were one of the British Babes, that came over to see The Glam Nation Tour, on the east coast?
I remember bits and pieces of the story, with a bucket of ice spilling onto a floor, and other mayhem moments? Maybe Kradmour, lorismile, or luval was involved???

I think it was the show, where there was a giant tent. Adam came through the opening, to enter the staged area? Anyone remember?

  36. kinkykiedis says:

Hi twilightmagic8 no sadly I wasn’t one of them, I went to the Paris show but this will be my first time I’m flying over there to see Adam perform. It’s mostly been here or in other European countries that I’ve seen him, but sounds like a good time was had by all Grin

  37. ultimathule says:

Agree about the value of the Queen association, sparkle – also his present “look” is more in tune with the average guy. World domination – yes!

  38. sparkle says:

Thanks, ulti. Agree with you about the look too!

    Cohasset, MA, twilightmagic?

  40. riskylady says:

Along that line (the Queen association), I also think many of the songs in Trespassing are well liked by men/boys. Particularly, Runnin’, Shady, Trespassing, Take Back, Kickin In and Pop that Lock are the ones I see mentioned by guys (and hubby and sons).

Agree, everyone, that article about the music biz is somewhat scary. I do think Adam is trying to keep up though, doing a good job.

I have one word about Google+ being a mix of Twitter, Facebook and YouTube though: AAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK!
Twitter and YouTube I’m ok, but Facebook is my nemesis. Hate it!

Lordy – Elgort is only 20 – must have been 15 when he saw Adam and voted for him.

  42. riskylady says:

mils, LOOOVE your Adam stories. I’m amazed at your ability to not blow your cover on these occasions, lol!

Re the NPH issue, I think for once we created our very own (very civilized) brouhaha, by discussing this rhetorical question posed by dear Ron:

    Ron says:
    06/09/2014 at 9:50 am
I should just leave this one alone, because I know that there’s a big difference, but still …

I wonder how many outraged phone calls CBS received last night during Neil Patrick Harris’s performance on the Tony’s when he thrust his crotch in Sting’s face and kissed a man – his husband, David Burtka. Both moments, in full close-up.

Thankfully, didn’t see any comparisons elsewhere either.

Hi everyone. It’s not good that no Queenbert concert is down in this area because there are many people that said they would love to see them. Frown Anyway I have extra tickets to MSG and am too lazy to try to sell them so decided to offer them to 3 young female cousins in their 20s that have recently moved to the NY/NJ area ( all living separately with total different personalities/interests) totally expecting them to refuse politely and lo and behold they all accepted very quickly. I shall assume they don’t want to hurt my feelings or maybe just want to have a visit with me since I am just passing thru that area for one reason Grin but they are in for a great show! Yes #expensivetreat!

  47. Ron says:

    Good Morning. Sun

    This is kind of fun:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6XGytWrZ6c

Pharrell William’s song “Happy” and Judy Garland’s “Get Happy” trade audio and video in a mash up.

First part is Judy’s film footage from her movie “Summer Stock” with Pharrell’s audio playing. I think the second part with Pharrell’s music video and Judy’s audio is even more effective.

I like Pharrell’s song “Happy” very much.

I don’t know how people think these things up.

BTW, coincidentally Judy would have been 92 years old today.

Have to start getting ready NOW for an 11:30am late breakfast with TLKC, Northern Spirit and KDD.

    Wink

  48. TLKC says:

‘Morning. I can’t believe Ron is already getting ready for lunch! As it happens we are going to the restaurant where the ALL-ers dinner will be on July 12th. We will ask to pick a patio spot and an indoor spot, in case of rain (heaven forbid!)

RE: NPH and the Tony’s – I loved this year’s show and NPH’s performance of Sugar Daddy was fantastic. The Tony’s (or their audience) are way ahead of the curve on LGBTQ PDA’s. The first high profile same-sex kiss wasn’t onstage; it was in the audience way back in the early 90’s. Stephen Spinella was a shoo-in for best actor for his role in Angels in America and he gave fair warning to the TV network that, if he won, he would be kissing his “husband”. He did (and he did) and they showed it and the world didn’t end. Quite different from a lusty on-stage kiss but, still, it was a clear, in-your-face statement of the very best kind: “I’m here, I’m queer, get used to it.”

The world has come a long way in 5 years. Adam has played a significant pop culture role in getting us there and the NPH non-event proves it. (BTW, the AP news report for the first half of the night seemed more focused on his licking Samuel Jackson’s glasses and putting them back on his head. I don’t think the writer was altogether impressed with the provocative aspects of the performance but you could tell he knew it was un-PC to say so.) Devil

I take NPH’s incorporation of the kiss into his performance as an indication of his views on the AMA kiss. He obviously supports Adam. He went on record with Ryan Seacrest last summer that Adam should be a judge on Idol. NPH has never gotten on the “good gay” versus “bad gay” bandwagon. He has never distanced himself from any segment of the LGBTQ community, though his mainstream popularity might have benefited from time to time.

Anyone up for seeing the show while we are in NYC? There are still good (expensive) tickets for July 18th.

  49. TLKC says:

I am all signed up for Adam’s Google+ event, as it happens, and quite by accident.

We are having a provincial election in Ontario this week. After weeks of sitting out this campaign, I dragged myself out to the campaign office to woman the phone banks last night. It turns out that volunteers have to sign up on Google+ to access the data bank so, after months of resistance, I finally did signed up. Didn’t imagine that it would come in useful so quickly. Grin

On the downside, I told them they could put a sign on my lawn. When I got home they had put a 5′ by 4′ sign on my 12′ X 12′ front lawn. Looks like a billboard. NVM – 3 days and it will be over.

  50. luval says:

Wow that praise for Adam in that interview by Ansel Elgort is amazing! He kept going on and on how he’s the greatest singer in the world! And his movie was number one this past weekend. Hope people see this interview.
