Hi everyone!   I realize some of you don’t like the eyes pictures but I think this one is beautiful.  I think of looking ahead to the Festival, new single, next album and tour when I look at this picture.  This month all of us will have a huge treat to look forward to with Adam performing at the St. Agathe en Feux Festival and my good friend Suz526’s videos on 7/29!   Please keep us all updated on the plans of the rather sizeable group of you who will be attending this concert as those of us who can’t make it to Canada will live vicariously through you for this one!

Thursday evening July 7th update: thanks to angelowal, we now have a translated link to FAQs for the Festival!

Forbes Top Earning American Idols 2011……

Also, here is MJ’s organized list……

An extraordinary personality. One is born with a gift like this. His ability to draw people to him – Sheffield? of RS – “Everybody loves Adam – he has a warmth about him that draws people in.”

Have saved the Mario Lopez/Great Day before-and-after SF interview. Adam, with his quick-silver intelligence and humor, just pierces the screen. Lopez, back with his three co-hosts, speaks of Adam’s confidence and calm, his down-to-earth manner, his real life stage presence, and how he (Lopez) felt cool just standing next to him.

And, portent of things to come – the two women co-hosts agreed – Adam got them from “hello.” Well, that seems to be the name of the game, babes.

Awesome post about the Forbes list dcglam So happy for Adam, he deserves it all.

  4. Oksana2000 says:

And despite his earnings he still drives his mustang, recycles clothing , rents beautiful, but not to big house and lives normal life that includes his close friends from the past and his family.
And how not to admire him?

Happy happy happy for Adam – he deserves every penny. (Went over to MJ’s to check how this news was being received – always a fun thread when Adam’s involved.)

I saw mention of the Forbes AI top earners list on Extra tonight. I’m so proud of Adam. He deserves everything! Smile

And love him and his common sense and grounded-ness. This is what will bring him happiness, not the money. The money is only the tangible evidence of the many things he is doing right in his career. Adam has often spoken of his goal of financial security; even if he never makes another cent, he could live very well from what he has already earned and invested.

And maybe put out some birdseed for the messenger pigeons… LOL

I meant to add in my post above that Adam looks like a six million dollar man in the pic that was included with the Forbes article!! Love it…… Smile

Well, all I can say is that I certainly did my share of contributing to the Lambert fund!!

And , has been noted on other sites, these numbers are just May 2010 -May 2011. He’s earned more.

  12. nkd says:

The pigeons must have stopped off for a party somewhere!
That reminds me of the pigeon poop on my forehead last time I was in NYC. I hope that they stay away this trip!

  13. nkd says:

I love those pics of Adam on the Forbes site. We can look at those pics of him performing and almost always tell which song he is singing at that time!
I love the ad that came up beside them asking if you had enough money put away for retirement! Noooo! Adam has it now! And I will need more for Adam later! Wink
Adamphernalia had not been figured into the retirement fund!

  14. cher says:

We sure did, Mils and still are. Smile
Hope Adam gets to Adele status. Tix for her October Miami concert went on PRESALE this morning and were gone in 10 minutes and that’s the American Airlines arena. I’m so bummed. Found out about it one hour later. Wonder what they’ll tell people tomorrow when the PUBLIC sale opens.
Frown To add insult to injury Tixmaster keeps emailing me with reminders to buy Adele tickets. PFFFTTTT!!

If misery loves company nkd let’s go sit in the corner and console one another. No tix for me either. I’m not worried though. Proof-of-purchase receipt will be the same thing as having the ticket.

A bird pooping on you is supposed to be a sign of good luck! Didn’t you know that? It means that you’re special, you’ve been singled out and chosen to be pooped on. Consider it an honor. Smile

  16. Kradamour says:

My son’s last car was a little red Festiva, and it was for some reason always covered with poop. So he finally gave up and got vanity plates that said BRDTRGT. It must have been a really lucky car…at least, until he totalled it…

    IKR?
And it pains me to know how much of our investment in the Bank of Adam actually went to StubHub and Ticketmaster… Frown

Hmmm…wonder what this means? That relatively well-to-do. savvy, professional Forbes readers are Adam fans? (I would be glad of that!)
Or that Adam fans found Forbes? (more likely…)

eywflyer hasn’t had a chance to post it yet, but today, July 21, marks the one-year anniversary of Adam’s show in Portland Oregon, my first GNT show. Ah, sweet memories. Smile

I took my teenage daughter and 2 of her friends. We met up with smeggs, starhart, and mieps (from MJs) in line. All of us had a blast.

It was a GA venue — the Crystal Ballroom is basically a dance hall. We got great spots very close to the stage — about 8 people back, right in the center.

The Portland show brought us the body roll lesson during IIHY (remember that??) and the bouncing dance floor (the dance floor in the Crystal Ballroom is actually suspended off the ground, so it bounces like crazy when everyone is jumping. What a riot that was!).

Also, it was so hot in the venue that during the intermissions the security guys were walking around the perimeter of the crowd spraying the crowd with water bottles. It was wild.

Portland was the only show that Tommy could not make because his father was so ill, and he was missed, but Adam and the band made up for his absence by turning everything up a notch. The energy was awesome.

Aannnddddd… I am proud to say that I believe that I was the first MJer to get a hug from Adam before or after a GNT show. Smile Such an honor! Adam had just recently started coming out after the shows, and not very many people knew this yet (and the meet and greets had not yet started). So smeggs and I and my kids hung around after the show, buying merchandise and meeting and talking with Monte, Cam, and Terrance, and then Adam came out. Everyone who was still there (not that many people) all nicely and peacefully lined up along the sidewalk and Adam patiently worked his way down the line. He was absolutely as sweet as could be, and after he signed my FYE album insert, I asked him for a hug, and he said “of course!” Ahh, such a lovely hug that was. I told him his music makes me happy and I thanked him for that, to which he very sweetly thanked me back.

He met and hugged smeggs and my kids next, and then we all pretty much flailed ourselves silly over our amazingly fantastic fortune. It was a great and wonderfully memorable night. Razz

And I have Adam to thank for a 1000% improvement in my relationship with my teenage daughter, as a direct function of our awesome Glam Nation experiences together.

Good morning, I forgot to post the Portland recap from 7/21/10 yesterday, here it is:

    http://www.adamlambertlive.org/2011/gnt-portland-or-072110

Cool recap cwm, thanks for posting it!

  23. Kradamour says:

cwm, I loved your post. Brought back so many good memories of the tour, and I felt like I was living your experience, beautifully described. We will never have a first tour again, and these notes and recaps are special in ways that future ones won’t be. So interesting to see how his fan experience evolved, from his sprint to the waiting bus past a handful of disappointed fans (in Norfolk), to the wonderful interactions later in the tour.

  24. ms0712 says:

Woohoo, Elvis Duran & the Morning Show NY Z100 is playing IIHY right now! 2nd time this week I’ve heard them play it, which is great because they don’t play a lot of music on the morning show (they talk a lot) but it’s a popular show and they are on all over the country.

  25. glambotgram says:

    great recap cwm

Kradamour Was it you that was talking about Spotify before? I just signed up today, it is really cool. My son signed up a few days ago and he loves it.

  26. dcglam says:

Ah, very sweet memories, indeed, cwm — thanks for sharing!
Speaking of Portland, I believe that was Adam’s very first tour stop EVER. If my memory is correct, that was the first show of the AI Summer Tour Season 8. That was also the day that I discovered MJ’s as I was frantically searching the internet for any tidbits (tweets, photos, vids, etc.) that I could find related to this concert.

Although I continue to hear WWFM on my radio, I haven’t heard IIHY in ages.
Happy to hear that IIHY is still out there on radio, ms0712! Smile

  27. Kradamour says:

Yup, that was me re Spotify. Glad you like it, glambotgram! It is hugely popular in Europe, so I am hoping that it catches on here, too. Smile

  28. nkd says:

cwm, what a lovely recap! HUGS?!!!
Each of your personal tour experiences brings back those feelings of excitement and joy from GNT. Thank you cwm, thank you everyone!

  29. nkd says:

Ron, we may have to start practicing our charm and begging skills so that we don’t get left outside the gates! If that doesn’t work, we can console each other in the corner!
Though still hoping for mail delivery of tickets!!! Smile
Maybe we need some bird poop for luck!

  30. Ron says:

    Hi nkd!

Would it be okay to phone you?

  31. Ron says:

Sorry nkd. Cancel request. Frown I phoned you once but no longer have your number. (I don’t know why!).

  32. Ron says:

Oh, geez … I DO have your number, nkd! In fact, both of them.

  33. cwm says:

Thanks for the kind comments about my Portland GNT recap, everyone. I’m glad you enjoyed it. It was fun to re-conjure those memories and write them down again.

A couple more things came to mind that I thought I’d share. This one is pretty funny. After I got my hug and autograph from Adam, he moved on to the next person in line. Just a couple of people down from me in line was this older man with a dog. He was eager for Adam to meet his dog, and Adam complimented him on what cute dog it was. Then the guy asked Adam for money so that he could get a hotel room for the night. LOL this guy wasn’t a fan, he was just a homeless dude who had wandered unknowingly into the line-up and thought it might be a good opportunity to score some cash. When he asked Adam for money, Adam just looked at him with this “Really?” face, then very nicely said, “Oh, I’m sorry, I don’t have my wallet with me so I can’t help you out, but maybe one of these other nice people here can give you a hand.” Then security moved him on to the next person. LOLOL This memory still makes me laugh and I have tears in my eyes from laughing as I write this, just remembering the totally surprised look on Adam’s face because it was so obviously not what he was expecting. And then of course he recovered and handled it with grace and aplomb.

The other thing that sticks with me was that show was a very intense experience because Adam and the band had such high energy, the venue was small and hot and jam-packed, and the crowd was so intense (and we were pretty close up, which made it even more intense). And Adam really was larger than life onstage. When I met him afterward, however, I was struck by the contrast between onstage and offstage Adam — that he really wasn’t so big as he appeared onstage and that he’s just a “regular-size” guy with a very sweet disposition and manner.

In fact, I had the same impression of Terrance. On stage Terrance appears so much bigger than in real life. In real life, he’s just a teeny little thing. And very sweet, too.

It was just so lovely to have this relaxed, personal contact with Adam and his stage-mates after such an amazing, intense show, to get a sense of them as just regular people in real life. I agree with kradamour, these are special memories that I hold very dear in my heart.

Oh, and I think that Portland was the first totally plugged-in WLL. “We’re pluggin’ it in tonight!” It was awesome. Smile

  34. nkd says:

Ron, of course you can phone me! Anytime!

  35. Ron says:

    Great talking with you nkd!

    Just received the following:

I just got off the phone with the Mayor of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts (yea, I’m cool like that cool.gif ). He said that about 6,000 tickets have been sold for Adam’s concert. That is the highest sales number for all of their artists during the festival. He also said that he has spoken to other promoters in the area and it seems that most of the sales come on the ‘day of’. He also said there will be a big promotional push this weekend (in Quebec obviously).

  36. dflowers says:

Funny you should say that. Some friends watied for Adam after his show in Albuquerque and commented later that he was shorter that they thought. I told them, well, he’s 6’1″ and they were amazed. He just seems larger than life when he’s on stage.

    Wow! Just Wow!
Ron, what does it mean “most of the sales come on the ‘day of'”?
But in reality I’m not that surprised. Adam seems to be very popular in Canada, and since now his concerts are so sparse his REAL fans will do ANYTHING to go and see him. I wonder how many people traveled from abroad (abroad means other continents)
BTW, seems that you will have a chance to meet Sauli.. Smile

  38. Ron says:

Ron, what does it mean “most of the sales come on the ‘day of’”?

Hi Oksana! I asked myself the same question. I’m not sure what “on the day of” means.

I wonder how many people traveled from abroad

One of the traveling companions that will join a friend driving to QC is flying in from Peru.

  39. Oksana2000 says:

Ron, here goes your intimate concert for small, selected group of fans!
On the other hand, Mandalay Beach in LV had estimated crowd of 5,200 (I remember that it exceeded real capacity) and according to Agathe.hb it was OK. Cher was there too.
I hope that you will spared presence of the Professional Glamberts, who will take the best seats on the lawn… Frown

  40. Ron says:

TLKC is visiting with me and explained what “on the day of” means …

It means that on the day of the performance a lot of people spontaneously decide to go to the concert based on everything they’ve seen and heard promoted during the last week.

The big promotional ads on the radio and TV this weekend will draw attention to the Festival from people who otherwise would not know about it. MusiquePlus, the French Canadian version of MTV, (Adam is bigger on MusiquePlus than on MuchMusic) will probably be promoting as well and offering tickets in contests, as well.

Adam has the distinction of being the first artiste on MusiquePlus to have a video inducted into the Pantheon. “Sleepwalker” was the number 1 video daily for 8 weeks in a row and was then retired into the Pantheon. His other videos were number 1 for even longer and “The Pantheon” was created because of his success.

TLKC LOVES to talk but … she’s finished now. LOL

  41. Calgary says:

6000 people! Okay, that does it. I can now be more comfortable with my decision not to go to Ste. Agathe. I am SOOOOOO happy for Adam, and I hope you guys manage to get great seats/places to stand and I will be waiting with bated breath for Suz’s videos (making wishful assumptions) and I am sorry I won’t get to meet you but that’s waaay too many people for me squished into a small space. Even though I LOOOOve fireworks too. I will have to join the rest of you online.

“On the day of” means that most of the tickets are bought by walk-ups just before the concert. It’s a big tourist area and I’m sure there will be hundreds/thousands of visitors who decide it would be fun to go to a concert in the evening.

  42. cwm says:

That’s great that they’ve sold 6000 tickets for Adam’s show. That’s a good size crowd! And I’m sure that there will be additional walk-ups as well.

There were about 9000 people at the Puyallup GNT show that I went to. It was all reserved seating, so it wasn’t a GA free-for-all, but I think 6000 GA should be manageable. Sounds fun! (Of course, I admit, I like the excitement and intensity of a big crowd. Smile )

  43. milwlovesadam says:

Here’s my glamorous tootsies at Strawberry Fields as promised for nkd.

PS. I’m such a dork, I didn’t even know that the memorial is flat. And can’t be “messed ” with or you face penalties. HA! That didn’t stop one fan from LAYING on it for a photo !!

  44. Oksana2000 says:

Ron, does it mean that 6,000 tickets were sold already, but another “God only knows how many” will be sold in addition to that? I’m curious how big crowd will Adam attract in the end.
“Sleepwalker” video on MusiquePlus? WHAT video????? The one from GNT DVD? To tell you the truth, since “Sleepwalker” is my favourite song of FYE, I watch this almost every time , when I decide to watch TV. It is sitting in my BR player permanently, I start with “Tribal segment” and then I watch SW, then is time for WWFM, and then I wake up, cause TV is putting me to sleep in no time.. Frown
Anyway, I have to admit that Canadians have better taste in music and food than their southern neighbours. When I was skiing in Mt.Tremblant, we had the best food ever.Must be french influence. Smile

  45. Oksana2000 says:

BTW, how did you like Central Park?

  46. Ron says:

The GNT verson of “Sleepwalker” was officially released as a music video in Canada.

It’s the same as the DVD but here’s the Link:

6,000 tickets have actually been sold. They expect a lot of last minute tickets to be purchased. The total crowd should be much more than 6,000.

Wasn’t it mentioned somewhere that they can accommodate up to 10,000 people each night? In Quebec, the last 2 weeks of July are usually the busiest vacation period of the whole summer. They have what they refer to as “les vacances de construction” (construction vacation) where most construction and many manufacturing type businesses close or operate with minimum staff. So it will be busy and even busier from Friday to Sunday.

  49. nkd says:

Sooo…mils did you leave your toes for me to find?!! Wink

I’m still at work, but my hubby messaged me that my tickets arrived! Whew!!!

  50. riskylady says:

Why, Mils, your tootsies are indeed glamorous. Nice foto!

    Nkd, yeeeaaaa!

And just fyi, I just finished walking to the “Live The Life” EP (yesterday did elliptical machine to it in the gym). It’s a perfect beat for walking at a nice clip (well, a clip at my age anyway) plus we were trying to outpace a lightning storm that sprung up.
I don’t know why, but I NEVER tire of listening to Adam – I can even listen to the same song over and over (favorites are studio version of One, the Bowie medley, studio version Ring of Fire, the GNT CD and the FYE CD, Cant Let You Go). I just don’t have time to contaminate with any other music, have to make a mighty effort to listen to Adele, Haley, Allison, Prince, etc. Is this a common ailment?
