Oksana – I live in Maryland, just outside of D.C. And, yes, just now saw there were four “friends” – most from a year ago and accessed one – LibraRising to see how it worked – lol. Have about 158 points – maybe from stuff I bought?
Someday I’ll count my aliases – particularly like my twitter one – milkofparadise.
Kradamour – so true – the image selling the music that pays for the home. 99.9% of his fans are good to him – yes, can fully understand why he must be “elated.”
God, what have I done now??
I love how Adam surrounds himself with very talented people. Sutan was first to win his competition, now I hope for Sasha to do as well.
Is Adam ever reading tweets sent to him? He gets 100 messages per hour on average. With his international fanbase time of the day doesn’t matter, there is always somebody in need to tell him how much they love him, what they think of him, what he should change in his life, what is better for him..etc.
100 per hour doesn’t really seem like that many, somehow. I rather thought it would be a constant scroll, like a stock price ticker. He could actually read them all if he wanted to and had nothing else to do. From time to time he probably does when he is waiting at an airport. etc. I like thinking about that.
And I love how very talented people seem to flock to Adam!
Phew re: Sasha! Really glad she wasn’t sent home and gets to be in the top 10.
Awww, Kradamour, you’re so sweet. Thank you!
Hi. I’m back. ( rubbing Times Square dust out of my eyes ).
Exhausted, but had a ball. Toured three universities in three days with son number two. Ate enough falafel, hummus, pita bread and bagels to last me a while. Saw so much. I’ve been there before, but this time, I’m content. Spent a lot of time in the park. Saw Strawberry Fields, and the Dakota, spent a day at NYU in the Village, sat in the park there and listened to some live music.
We saw Memphis at the Schubert. Absolutely fantastic. Great music and dancing. I highly recommend this show. I however, do not recommend getting surprised after a wonderful dinner in the theater district that was not hummus and falafel, by a downpour of heavy rain, standing out trying to catch a cab at the same time as about 10,000 other theater fans, and running to the theater, and taking your seat 5 seconds before the show starts soaking wet and out of breath and dripping on the nice lady in the seat next to you. Oh well, it made the night even more memorable.
And, as a true Adam fan, had so many thoughts of things that reminded me of him. The Schubert is directly across from the theater where Hair is playing, etc. Saw a queen in a gold sequined one piece swimsuit, with legs and heels that went on forever. She was in midtown near our hotel. Signed a petition for gay rights in the Village. Etc.
Now, I come home to find that he’s in New York, and I’m back here. Shit.
But, I did see a sitcom star, I can’t think of his name, he was in front of me at Fairway on Broadway at 75th. And, everybody hold on to your hats, take a long drink of something cold, because I did see a real celeb. I don’t know about any of you, but, when in NYC, I have Sex and the City on my mind a lot. I keep looking for beautiful and glamorous people. However, nobody was looking good on Tuesday or Wednesday because it was hotter than Hades there. BUT, today, the weather was cooler and the humidity was down, and I saw him. In the Village. He walked by, right next to me.
BIG.
That’s right.
BIG. Chris Noth. Oh. My. Gawd. He’s so tall, and gorgeous. And he’s soooo…..BIG.
I shoulda brought my Depends to NYC.
chuckle…had to think about that for a minute, Ron!
But yes, present company included.
Love Sex in the City, mils, even the bad sequel to the bad first movie. Listened to the book on tape on a road trip once. Adore Sarah Jessica.
Chris Noth – woot!
Glad you had such a wonderful trip. NYC never disappoints! Kinda like Paris but different lol
Welcome Home, mils!! You obviously had a great time and good for you!!
Who’s Chris Noth?
j/k
Ron, tee-hee. He’s quite the piece of eye candy.
BTW, Google Memphis. It won the Tony for best musical in 2010. I think you’d like it.
I must have missed it or, there goes my memory again, but is “Memphis” the show you went to see?
Not “The Lion King?”
Most important though … did son number two (I won’t tell him you refer to him that way)
find where he’s going to go to college?
Welcome back mils. Sounds like you had a great time! I thought of you when I heard that Adam may be in New York!
Ron, are your hands feeling better?
Hi kradamour!
Who else is here?
Hi nkd!!
So thoughtful! I’m happy to say … yes. Polysporin ointment has helped a lot! I can type.
Thank you Cher for recommending cornstarch. It helped too. Thank you!
Adam must’ve mastered an art of disquise. How could he go to NYC without being spotted? And if Sauli went with him it would be almost impossible to hide.
I think of Dusty Madrid.
Mils, if I was in better shape, I would gladly met you and show you some hidden treasures of Manhattan.Don’t complain about NY weather. You haven’t visited NYC in August yet.
Hey, nekkid!
Cornstarch is something I have never heard of for burns. We are such a knowledgeable group! Stands to reason that we would be able to keep up with Adam news when we are already so plugged in to so many other topics!
Long day today, I’m off to the feathers, as we used to say.
G’nite peeps – sweet Adam dreams!
Hi Oksana!
I was going to say … mils was in New York and surely you bumped into one another?!
Questions like that are so silly, aren’t they? One time someone said to me, “Oh, you live in Canada! Do you happen to know …”
“Autumn In New York” is MUCH better that August in New York!
Ron, anything is possible. I bumped into my close friend when I visited London some time ago. In the matter of fact it was absolutely surreal, I was shopping, saw some fancy sweater on the rack and wanted to try it on and suddenly somebody was trying to grab that sweater – I looked up and there she was, my dear friend Eva. She went to London on vacation as well.
Small world.
Ron, if I had a dollar for every time I heard in my home country “Oh, you live in USA, did you happen to meet.. “.
Lack of imagination is universal..
So true, Oksana! You never know …
That’s amazing!
Who got the sweater?
Hi Oksana! I’ll be in NYC in a couple of weeks. It will be August! But I’m guessing August in NY can’t be worse than August in Houston! Maybe we’ll see you there!
Ron, I’m so glad your hands are better. You know, you’re not supposed to cook your hands in the hot grease!
Ron, I tell all my friends, who want to visit NY to avoid July and August like a plaque. September is the best, it is still warm , but mostly dry and usually beautiful. Commuting to work was like a nightmare. First one is sweating waiting for a subway on the platform. Then you get into subway car and you are freezing. Then you leave subway and go outside and are dying of heat again. Then you go to the office that has sub-zero temperature and you are freezing again. No wonder half of the population of NYC is sick in the summer.
What do you mean, who got the sweater? Do you have ANY doubts?..hehe
Mils, does Houston have high humidity in the summer? Or just heat?
Oksana, Houston has high humidity! It’s almost always humid here.
I can’t keep my eyes open. Good night all!
Mils, You might be lucky tho.. Last year August wasn’t so bad, we got all the sh!t in June, that usually is OK, but not in 2010. I think it was the hottest June in the history of NYC.
I thought that Texas is rather dry.
Good night , nekkid. Have a wonderful dreams..
You brought it all back to me, Oksana. I can taste, feel and smell exactly what you’re talking about! Not so pleasant living it in the moment when I was feeling those things
but what wonderful memories I have of living in Manhattan!
Thanks for the memories …
Oksana, since it appears that nekkid has “hit the hay” (or feathers, a la kradamour
, I’ll attempt an answer. Houston is much closer to the Gulf, which makes it more humid than say the Panhandle of Texas, which is very dry in comparison. But it’s hot no matter where you go in Texas this time of year. My youngest son played a baseball game today and it was 106 degrees!
Ron, isn’t it amazing how selective is our memory? How fast we forget all the unpleasant things, and cling to all the wonderful moments we still remember? Last Saturday I was at the friendly BBQ party and everybody was saying how wonderful was our life in communist Poland. I said that when we lived there we were all very YOUNG, HEALTHY and STUPID so obviously we had great time…
Oksana, I love your “accent”
Did you guys see on 24/7 that there’s a new rumor that Adam will guest judge on Project Runway?
Good night, nkd.
Late night owl, nkd, going to bed? I can have that effect on people, though. Boring them to death so that they have to go to sleep.
Texas, when I was visiting Arizona in end of August (Sedona, Scottsdale), the temperature was over 100 degrees but it didn’t bother me at all. It’s humidity that I cannot stand.
I was brought up in much cooler and drier climate.
Texas, you should hear me when I speak..hehehe..

Re: Project Runway – Any rumor repeated enough many times eventually becomes a reality..
But srsly, I don’t think that Adam flew to NYC just to watch Nikka Costa perform. So there might a grain of truth in all that rumour..
Oksana, your accent comes across in your writing, and it’s really cute!
Project Runway – would be nice, but there are bigger and better things I’m hoping for!
We’re on the same page! You’re so right, Oksana!
You’ve got me thinking though (which is such a strain!) about when I lived in NYC. First thoughts are that it was all wonderful. Loved my job, friends and living in, perhaps, the most exciting city in the world.
There was that one time though when three guys beat me up because I was holding hands with my boyfriend while walking along York Avenue and I ended up in the Emergency Room (circa 1976). But, that doesn’t count.
It was all good … for the most part.
Texas, I know that I write with an “accent”, but I don’t really care..
.
Project Runway is presumably paying pretty penny to a guest judge, and Adam has to make some money when not touring. There is a RENT to be paid..
I am hoping for him getting some nice endorsement deal – this is where real money is.
Ron, sorry to hear your story from the past.
Times changed so much since then. Younger generation is so much more tolerant. At least in NYC. Even my home country is changing for the better, but it takes time.
Adam at Nikka Costa concert..

What happened to our brussel sprout? No more 12 layers of clothing in 90F heat?
Looks like I’m the only one left..
And this is where Adam went after the concert:

Twitter, Twitter, what I would do without you…
That was then and this is now. Once again, you’re exactly right.
I don’t want to be “tolerated”, though. I would prefer to be “accepted”. You know?
I know you know what I know and I know what you know when I ask, “you know?”.
Now, say that 5 times fast.
Ron, I come from highly anti-semitic country,so being Jewish I know this and that about tolerance and acceptance. I don’t care anymore, I am not going to change POV of closeminded people.
I’m very moved by your post, Oksana.
In spite of some of the subject matter, it’s still been my pleasure to get to know you that much more. A real pleasure!
I’ll say goodnight now.
Fingers crossed that I’ll be able to go to Ste.-Agathe to meet all of you wonderful people that will be there. At this point, I’m not sure that I’m going to be there with you.

I’m glad to hear your hand is better, Ron. Krad, you can put the cornstarch on directly or you can make a paste of it with water and it’s extremely cooling on the burn. Remember where I work? That’s a common ailment. Burns, burns, burns… and I’m not singing a verse of Ring of Fire.
eta-a paste of baking soda and water also feels great on a burn

Adam Lambert Shows Up At Nikka Costa Show In NY (Photos!) http://dlvr.it/bDwQ4
Ron — What’s going on? Why wouldn’t you be able to go to the concert? You are a lynchpin in the plan! Whatever it is, I hope everything is ok and my fingers are crossed for you.
