Hi everyone!   I realize some of you don’t like the eyes pictures but I think this one is beautiful.  I think of looking ahead to the Festival, new single, next album and tour when I look at this picture.  This month all of us will have a huge treat to look forward to with Adam performing at the St. Agathe en Feux Festival and my good friend Suz526’s videos on 7/29!   Please keep us all updated on the plans of the rather sizeable group of you who will be attending this concert as those of us who can’t make it to Canada will live vicariously through you for this one!

Thursday evening July 7th update: thanks to angelowal, we now have a translated link to FAQs for the Festival!

Teri63 — great to see you here! I love your Adam moment. That’s fantastic that he got a mention in a textbooks as a cultural touchpoint.

I remember in some interview somewhere Adam said that he wanted to be a “game-changer.” I was so proud of him for that — for believing in himself and his vision. I believe that, over time, he can be a game-changer. One step at a time.

  6. nkd says:

Well luval that was too irresistible! Grin

cwm, I believe that too. He can be a game-changer!

That’s one of the things that was so exciting about the text book inclusion: it kind of insinuated that Adam was already being viewed as an integral part of the whole music “game,” maybe not yet as a “game changer,” but, at the very least, as a game resumer after years with no one to carry the beautiful, cool and brave (these are my adjectives, not the text book’s) androgyny torch. As an Adam fan, I’m sooooo proud!

Ooooh! The LA Equality Awards on Aug 13, and the taping of the VH1 Do Something Awards on Aug 14, means two red carpet fashion evenings and pictures!
And Aug 10, Adam’s Behind the Music airs!
So much Adamness in one week!

I always loved those pictures from Tracks of My Tears night.
One of my fave idol performances.
    Wasn’t he a cute boy?!!!

  15. ultimathule says:

Wow – that pic of a tanned Adam in a nightclub(?) last night! (Who’s the girl?)

  16. HK fan says:

apparently her name’s Liz, and I think its the same girl in several of Adams birthday pictures, the ones from the picture booth. I think she’s the blond one wearing a black dress, who gets her boobs out…it looks like her.

  17. HK fan says:

Forgot to say, love the tanned look, he looks really healthy……and very sexy…in that photo.

  18. luval says:

Someone at The Homeplanet site called Adam “orange Adam”. He was a bit orangey in that pic. But it looked good on him!

  19. Kradamour says:

Orange-y is good, it means that it is spray-on or artificial tan – he isn’t risking his health (and future skin of a komodo dragon) with too much sun or a tanning booth.
I love that Adam is apparently enjoying a life with a good balance of work and play. May it be ever so.

  20. rs says:

Hi ceddies I just read about your problem with realplayer not downloading. I had that problem last year and it was driving me crazy. I even wrote in to realplayer for help. In the end my computer guy solved it for me. The download function for realplayer had been disabled. If you go into tools and manage add-ons, check to see if “realplayer download and record” is enabled or disabled. If it has been disabled, just enable it, and you should be able to use realplayer to download again. If you do want to keep using realplayer, why don’t you try this? Let me know if it solves the problem

Did you guys see that the VH1 Do Something Awards changed the write-up for Adam? Now it talks about his DonorsChoose and charity:water campaigns. They must have listened to us! (Except now they don’t mention the Trevor Project. Oh well, I guess we can’t have everything.) And they posted the links to the charities.

    Adam Lambert

From the beginning of his career, Adam has supported DonorsChoose by helping raise $322,260 for the organization and even stopping into schools in Los Angeles and NYC to deliver supplies and talk to the kids about music. Instead of birthday gifts for his 29th birthday, Adam asked that friends and family donate to his Charity:Water birthday campaign. In doing so, the fans exceeded his wish of raising $290,000 and raised over $320,000 in just over a few weeks breaking all of the organizations records!

MJ just created a separate thread for this at mjsbigblog, which is cool.

Now I’m gonna go vote. Smile

Except now they don’t mention the Trevor Project. Oh well, I guess we can’t have everything.

I noticed that, too, cwm. I’m thinking that they only had a rather small space to work with and could only fit so much. Right now it looks as though Adam has more details in his write-up than any of the other nominees. They do provide a few links for more information, if peeps are interested. You go, Adam!! Smile

  23. cwm says:

I agree, dcglam, that they probably had a limited amount of space available and had to choose what to focus on. It great that they include the links for more information.

It’s funny that he wasn’t even on the ballot at first, then he got on the ballot through write-ins, then they mentioned only his Trevor Project and It Gets Better efforts, then they revised his profile to highlight his DonorsChoose and charity:water campaigns. It all suggests that initially they didn’t really know much about his charity work.

  27. cwm says:

haha They changed Adam’s profile AGAIN at the Do Something awards website. Now they mention all 4 efforts — the Trevor Project, It Gets Better, DonorsChoose, and charity:water. Yay! You go Adam!

    Adam Lambert

Throwing huge support towards the Trevor Project Adam donated all the proceeds from “Aftermath Remix” as well as joining the “It Gets Better” campaign. Thanks for posting that, riskylady! One of the google ads that popped up when I watched that video was for the Ste.Agathe festival. Yeah! Shock
They mentioned E.LaPointe, Florence K and Kenny Rogers but no Adam. Boo! Frown
At least there was a link to their website. I’m not sure if anyone else saw that ad. Seems logical that the Festival de Feux was advertised on that Fire youtube video. Fire fanatics unite!

    Adam is an ICON!!!
    http://www.nationalenquirer.com/glambert-rod-stewarts-eyeliner-secrets-shared

Well I agree that Adam is an icon Smile and that is a cute little blurb with a nice picture (so all in all it’s positive press for Adam), but I think it’s total fiction.

First, I have trouble believing that anybody connected to the National Enquirer could get close enough to a conversation between Adam and Rod Stewart to hear exactly what words were exchanged; second, Adam uses MAC eyeliner, not Revlon; and third, I seriously doubt that he would use the word “bloke.” LMAO

What? The National Enquirer make something up out of thin air? Shocking! LOL Well, if they’re going to make something up, at least it’s positive and upbeat toward Adam. Wink

Nice article about Adam’s videos — Go IIHY!!!

    http://entertainment.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474979620141

Here is the VH1 list of the top 51-100 most viewed videos of 2011 so far:

    http://blog.vh1.com/2011-07-12/vh1s-top-100-videos-of-2011-so-far/

FYE is #89 and WWFM is at #55. They’ll reveal 11-50 tomorrow, then the top 10 after that. There’s still a chance that IIHY is in the top 50. Go IIHY!

  42. nkd says:

Re the National Inquirer article, I find it hard to believe that Adam would waste his conversation with Rod Stewart discussing eyeliner. And…wouldn’t they have met at the Idol finale? Of course that doesn’t mean that he wouldn’t make a beeline to Rod if he saw him!
The article seems more like an ad for Revlon!

  43. Calgary says:

Good thing you didn’t say Paul Nolan sings as good as Adam…you would have had people jumping on you here Smile

Yeah,ns, I thought about that! He’s got the same range and he can “scream” just like Adam – I thought his rendition of “Gethsemane” was phenomenal. It reminds me of some of Adam’s old stuff.

You can all listen here: http://www.cbc.ca/video/news/audioplayer.html?clipid=2052008714
Go to about 25.30 to hear Nolan sing. If that doesn’t work, go here, and scroll down to the black box that says :Listen here” http://www.cbc.ca/q/blog/2011/07/12/jesus-christ-superstar-on-q/

  45. Ron says:

Hi! Interesting. I found this somewhere in the Etherlands: Smile

I got a phone call from the Mayor of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts this morning (my boss is friends with him and told him what a huge Adam fan I am and how I was all over the States last summer to see him). He told me that they are in shock because people have been calling them for tickets from:

    Australia
    Portugal
    Japan
    England
As well as from everywhere in the States

He also told me that they got an email from a group of Toronto fans letting them know that they are planning to sleep over the night before the concert in order to get a good spot (it’s GA and no folding chairs are allowed). He wanted to know if they should be concerned and get extra police help from neighboring towns!

It sounds like we should check-in and then immediately run to go stand in line! Rolls Eyes Forget about dinner. Sorry, Cher Wink

I also read this evening that each “set” is expected to run 1 and-a-half hours to 2 hours and 15 minutes depending on the artist.

Do you think Adam will be onstage for 90 minutes? I suppose it’s anyone’s guess.

  46. Calgary says:

Ron, someone needs to tell the mayor what a well-behaved bunch of fans the Glamberts are, not like Canucks fans!

  47. Ron says:

Hi Calgary! Thanks for the CBC Link. I enjoyed it very much!

I only posted the first part of what is a rather long comment. It was made by someone in Montreal who did go on to tell the mayor, something-like, it’s an unspoken rule that Adam’s fans are, in general, polite and courteous to one another.

I found this to be true in Toronto but that was the only time I saw Adam’s tour. I would guess those who attended multiple concerts could tell a different story.

  48. SunSister says:

Had to de-lurk long enough to say:

Happy, Happy Birthday k_in_cal and mr!

Smile Grin Shock Cool Razz Wink LOL

  49. Northern Spirit says:

Thanks, Calgary, for the CBC link. I see what you mean about him having Adam’s range. This brings back so many memories of all the times I’ve seen JCSS. I’d love to see it again.

Ron, thanks for finding that bit of info. I wonder how many people will actually be camping out the night before. I wish I had the stamina and energy to do that, but I don’t. What would be great is if half of our group could get in line early the next day, and we could all take shifts throughout the day, in line, if there are any interested in doing so. Sigh….I guess I’ll be back a bit. I did hope to get up front, but I can’t see it happening.

  50. Kradamour says:

I found this to be true in Toronto but that was the only time I saw Adam’s tour. I would guess those who attended multiple concerts could tell a different story.

Norfolk GA: badly behaved fans. Srsly.
Raleigh reserved seats: meh. Most nice, but some notable exceptions.
Atlanta Symphony Hall reserved seats: The Junior League. Nuff said.
Atlanta Tabernacle GA: peeps starting to realize that they were Adam fans and needed to act like same.
Paris GA: quite a few peeps there because it was Trabendo and they go there regularly for whomever, not because of Adam, quite a few didn’t even know who he was. (Remember that FYE wasn’t released there until a couple of weeks before the concert.) Some of them were badly behaved. The Adam fans were cool.

Okay, that’s my input. Would love to hear about the fandom at other concerts!
