Another year has come and gone and we’re still kicking! Adam had a busy second half of 2017 and will follow that up with a quick tour of New Zealand and Australia starting in February. Personally, I think the AMAs performance in 2009 ended Adam’s chances of commercial stardom while making commercial stardom possible for every gay artist who has followed. Forever one of my favourites.

Happily for me, I don’t follow that person. I notice Adam’s picked up over 100k new Instagram and Twitter followers in the past few months, his Idol and pre-Idol videos are getting lots of views and GREAT new comments. And, when was “the world” against him? Was it during the 2010 sold-out WW GNT tour? The mostly sold-out int’l WAG tour in 2013? Or the mostly sold-out TOH tour in 2016? Or during all the WW sales/awards his 3 albums have earned? Or, during the 6 years of sold-out QAL gigs?
Basing their definition of “success” on appearing on SNL, because Troye Sivan does it, seems – hmmmm, how do I say this – IMMATURE AND SHORTSIGHTED! Says more about SNL and NBC, and the no longer disguised pay-for-play US radio biz than about Adam. How come he gets play and charts in other countries?
Back to NBC: did GT on Today and Fallon, but denied interview on both. I have very little hope for SNL and even JCS, unless the Lauer thing had some impact on TPTB. Kathy Lee Gifford said terrible things about Adam after the AMAs.
He’s rich, famous for his amazing vocals, and I think he wants to put out some more GOOD music. I don’t think he wants to be Troye, or Sam Smith (who’s new album hasn’t matched his last), OR Camila Cabello who just lip-synced her new song on GMA.

Anyone who is dismissive of Adam Lambert or the price he has paid for being an openly gay performer needs to watch this. BTW only 1500 people out of 14.2 MILLION viewers got Adam banned off @ABC the next AM. @ABC tried to replace him with Chris Brown who had assaulted Rihanna.

I’m actually glad that Adam is a “grown-ass-man” who appeals to adults. Way more sophisticated. And, young kids grow up; their tastes change. Why Bieber is struggling. He’s aged out of his fan base. I would not mind at all if Adam got into serious jazz, blues, or rock.
