There is a Lava record label under the UMG umbrella. Small label (Jessie J and Lorde are on it) but their office is in CA not NYC so probably not but who knows. Still going with Island. Lava was the first word I googled when he sent out that tweet about By The Rules and found that but thought I was being crazy. Or somehow tied to 50 Shades of Grey movie? Never read it but don’t have to to get the gist.

Info link about Lava. Okay, didn’t read this earlier. Sounds like a label that is focused on growing artists. Agree nkd now HMMMMM… really, before I was just throwing stuff out there.
ETA: After reading everything more in depth I hope it is really Island not Lava. Lava is so small and not sure it has the pull to help Adam. Shoshanna today started following Virgin EMI Uk who distributes Lava and Island in the UK. Okay, with that my digging around for today is done!

Okay, one more piece of the puzzle. Republic Records is the label that Lava is under. All still under UMG. Republic’s HQ is in you guessed it NYC where it would make sense he would sign with Republic not directly with Lava.
I just followed Republic Records just in case!

Okay back to thinking this could be a REALLY GOOD thing. Lava sounds like a really good label for getting lots of attention and true artist development – very active A&R and promo – it sounds like they also they only sign people they really think are different and unique. Sound like someone we know?
