luval that sucks but I am sure it happens to every artist. I always ask the people who say they do that to give me something for free, or to do a service for me for free, or how about going into work and giving them a free day. It doesn’t always work but sometimes I have seen the light bulb go on.

I always check out a couple of the videos out to the right side of yt videos that I am viewing. Does anyone know who that Nathan James guy is? His is one of those on the right. He was performing O Holy Night for an aid program called Plan Finland. Just wondering if he was on some show like XFactor and if anyone is familiar with him. Not that it will ever happen, but I would really like to hear Adam doing his version of this song kind of Michael Bolton-ish. Nathan James does his rock version here, and I could totally hear Adam doing this–particularly the way this guy does the ending.
I gotta get busy. Will check back tonite to see what you guys are up to.
I can’t tell you how good it feels to be connected again. Those four-five days when I couldn’t connect (to even read at times) were a wakeup call for me. It made me know how much I depend on you all for friendship. Not that I don’t have good friends locally; but we all know there are friends–then there are Adam friends. Really, just thinking about it, I actually have three good friends here who are Adam fans, but only one even comes close to the level of Adam love that I have–and she trails by miles.

I was worried too, spending two weeks with my ultra-conervative sister who liked Adam on Idol but hated him on the AMAs and didn’t like the glam look afterwards or the glam rock on FYE. I also thought she was anti-gay, because of her reaction to the AMA thing.
Well – happy to say, I was totally wrong!
It wasn’t the gay thing at all. She just didn’t like the “suggestive explicitness” on TV. Still, didn’t like the makeup or glam rock thing.
But, turns out she had a gay sister-in-law who died of cancer that was her favorite sister-in-law, loves Ellen, also has a gay brother-in-law. So, I showed her Adam’s new look and she loves it. Is very in favor of my fandom, says it keeps me young (LOLOLOL). So, no eye-rolling!!!! YAY!
We had never talked about these things, because I was Iavoiding a clash. (Still can’t talk politics, though.)
I hooked her up with MJs – she’s a big Idol fan in general.
Think she will like Adam’s new music, so will gift her Trespassing when it comes out.

riskylady. Here’s my story.I have a co-worker who doesn’t believe in “gay”. She’s a strict catholic. She won’t let her son around any single man alone…just in case. She hated Adam’s glam look, don’t even mention the AMA’s. Yet I started slowly sending her Adam music starting of course with Come to Me Bend to Me. And now I’m showing her the new Adam. She’ll say things like “what a handsome man” or “so much better without the makeup”. Of course I mention that he is a showman so may wear it on stage or really whenever he wants. SO WHAT!!. I think I’m slowly winning her over. Never mentioning gay but always telling her about his charities, his family, etc. Baby steps like you said.
Did any of you see where the actress Cynthia Nixon is saying she “chose” to be a lesbian? There was a big uproar a couple of days ago. Here is one article. btw no one, absolutely no one who I know is gay including my brother ever said it was a choice. They were born this way.

apropos Cynthia Nixon’s comment about choosing to be gay, a woman I know well (sorry, I can’t get more specific on a public forum) has been in a very loving gay relationship which she entered into after her divorce. When her sister asked her about when she knew she was gay she said that her relationship is person specific, not gender specific. She just fell in love with someone who happened to be a woman.
I do believe that there is a continuum and that there are people who fall in the middle and can go either way.
I believe this as well. At the same time I think that those who are more on either end of the spectrum don’t have that choice. Cynthia Nixon never meant to generalize her experience to the whole gay community. I think if you asked straight people if they could “choose” to be gay, most would say “of course not”. Why would it be different the other way around?

As I mentioned briefly over at MJ’s, the section of the VH1 vid, particularly where he talks about his time on Idol, I get the impression that what he did express at that time was true, but there was a great deal of (?) that went unexpressed – “underneath” and all. Wonder what he left out. Music may tell us?
Agree too. I was thinking about the “choosing” or “born this way” thing yesterday. In the end, even IF or maybe WHEN it’s a choice, then so what? It’s not illegal (at least in most states although some may have outdated but unenforced laws) NOR evil IMHO. Different strokes for different folks. I’m a firm believer in live and let live, as long as people don’t hurt anyone. Some may think it immoral. So – don’t do it.

Unfortunately, I was out and about for the good part of today, so I missed at least the first half. I came in at Master Plan and again realized how much I love that song. That is a song that I wish we had heard more of. I had to LOL at that Bowie Medley from LA (bitches). I can always tell where that one came from.

Hi guys. Just returned from lunch out with my brother. He’s home from teaching English in China. He’s going back next week. Among many topics, was censorship and how the government influences people.
His best example that he had seen so far was with Lady Gaga. All his college students loved her, she was “#1.” When “Judas” came out, it was controversial and banned. The people received numerous communications through e-mail, TV and cell-phone and land line messages that she was no longer sanctioned, and was not to be listened to anymore.
In school, my brother made reference to her in class, and almost in unison the students said ” She’s a bad person, we don’t talk about her or listen to her any more.” ” She’s no good.”
That’s it. No rebelling. No listening anyway. Maybe some listen in private, but not out loud. And, since there is no real Google or You Tube ( Completely banned), there is no way to get the music anymore.
Just one more reason to love our country and our freedoms.
